I had a chance to talk to one of my very best girlfriends – we’ve been missing each other. It’s amazing that when I worked I managed to see her more as well as have lunch and shopping outings. We’ve been trying to get our schedules worked out so that we can have a nice, long, girlfriend lunch. After I got off the phone with her a light bulb literally went off over my head as I thought of the new JustRite set called Girl Time. It has the perfect girlfriend stamps and one of them says "Lets Do Lunch". I sat down to make an invitation to mark the occasion!
Now you’ll look at this and all the detail and the layers and the embellishments and well….as stampers, isn’t the amount of stuff on a card commensurate with the likelihood that the recipient will keep it? Okay, admit it . . .you know what I’m talking about, you don’t always load up those Prima Flowers and hardware and stick pins for your brother when you know he’s just going to throw the card away. Well I know this is going to a stamping girl, who will marvel over each layer and the last place you’d ever find it was in the trash. Enough said?

First of all let me tell you that the the only stamped portions of this invitation are the Let’s Do Lunch, the frilly border and on the inside the words Be My Guest, Date, Time, RSVP and Place. I’m so cheating on this, the themed Scrapbook paper does all the work. This piece had a border on the top and along the bottom and was done with one 12" x 12" page. Here are the JustRite products that I used – I like to show the packaging so that you can see where each tool came from.
On a 13 ¾" x 6" strip of paper, from the top I measured down 4 ¼" and placed a score line, measured down an additional ¼" and scored another line, measured down an additional 6" and scored another line then measured down an additional ¼" for the final score line (there will be 3" left at the end of the strip). That makes a trifold card that has a top flap that lays over a bottom flap. On the top flap I created a medallion with two scalloped layers then two circle layers. I stamped the JustRite border on one circle and popped it up then stamped the JustRite Center on the top circle. On the inside of the card I set up the entire invitation using my Rectangle Stamper and the Brayton Font. I trimmed the top with that neat bracket shape you get on the Ric Rac Scallop Pierceability. I put an eyelet and ribbon at the top for a pull and I have a magnet hid under the layers in the flap so that the card will stay closed.
I was a sad puppy yesteday as I was without internet. Well, today is another day! Hey, Justrite Stampers is celebrating 300,000 hits so there’s some pretty awesome Blog Candy going on, so check it out HERE.
Once again, I am amazed and stirred by your creativity :) I have girlfriends that I stamp with on Mondays and we get together for each others’ birthdays so this type of card would be nice to give as I know it wouldn’t go into the trash. Love the clothes stamps! thank you for sharing yet another wonderful project with us. Have a blessed day!
