Be Mine and Blog Candy

You still have until Friday night at Midnight to enter for the blog candy.  You can read about the rules and enter HERE.   I’m thoroughly enjoying reading your b-list items — I hope you read some of the others too!!

The Magnolia-licious Design Team has a challenge to do each month and this month Diana challenged us to do a Wiper Card!  I’ve never done one before and it was kinda neat.  For my card I used the sweet little Dinner Tilda with Valentine Papers from K&Co.  The stand up part of the wiper says "Be Mine"  Also since I’m in the flower making mood, I found a super tutorial over at Crafts by Rach that shows how to make these flowers.  I’ve had a bottle of Glimmer Mist forever and I never seem to reach for it.  Well this little flower and Glimmer Mist thing might get addicting *wink*.

Not as much as in real life, but you can see a hint of the sparkle :-)  Pop over to the Magnolia Highlites Blog to see that cards made by the other Design Team members.  If you want to try your hand at it you can make your own wiper card and upload it to the Magnolia Highlights Blog by February 28th in order to be in the running for a prize.   The details are HERE.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Magnolia Stamps through Magnolia-licious, #388 Dinner Tilda
Paper:  K &Co – Lovely, Bazzill
Ink:  Memento Black Tuxedo
Accessories:  Copic Markers, Twine, Ribbon, Buttons, Pearls, EK Success Paper Shaper – Retro Flower Large, EK Success Paper Shaper – Retro Flower Small, Martha Stewart Leaf Punch, EK Success Round Punch, Martha Stewart Heart Punch, Martha Stewart Heart Border Punch

I must say that it’s taking me a little bit longer than I thought to produce the video for the Woven Lattice Background.  I put a lot of hours into it yesterday but the tutorial length is too long and and frame is simply not that hard, just lots of steps.  I’ll continue to work on it and just so you know I can just about do that weaving with my eyes closed now. It’s coming soon, I pinky promise :-)

Hi Becca. I came to see what you have been up to lately – as I often do and was totally shocked! You and I both posted a hearts card on the same day/morning with similar details; hearts BG, adorable girl, MS punched white heart side border, ribbon… Holy Moly! how does that happen? And of course mine is amateurish compared to your elegant and stunning and oh-so-fabulous creation, but stilll…. it sure made me feel awesome to find that we had done this. WOW! You are one of my card idols and so this totally blew me away GF! heheh.ReplyCancel

Day Four – and I wake up to find another beautiful card from you. Delightful. I didn’t know how to make a ‘wiper card’ and now I do! Thanks.

Another item on my ‘bucket list’ is to travel to and visit the town where I was born. My father was stationed in Charleston, South Carolina during WWII and I was born there in 1945; after the war we moved to my parent’s home town in Ohio and that’s where I lived until I met my husband and moved to Indiana. I’ve never been back to Charleston and now’s the time to do that.

    I’ve enjoyed reading other’s bucket lists items.ReplyCancel

For now, the last thing on my BL is to find a job this year. My husband is losing his job at the end of the year.ReplyCancel

I saw this quote on somebody’s signoff. It went something like this: “May we live long enough to use our supplies”. Tomorrow I will be 51 years “young”. I guess that means I would have to grow as old as Methuselah! So, I guess my wish would be that I use more use of the supplies I DO have!

Since I missed one day, I would add an bucket list wish that my husband and I are able to find jobs this year. (Ditto on the last poster’s comment)

Anyhow, that would make a lovely birthday present to win the blog candy!

Another one of my B-list items was checked off today. I cooked an NEW meal everyday this week. Some were winners and Some were losers. But it was fun trying something new.

    Day 5 (? – I’ve lost count, LOL)

I would so love to see the Northern Lights. I cannot imagine what that would be like. They are amazing in photographs. That would be such a wonderful experience.

    Thanks so much, Becca!ReplyCancel

I was excited to cross off another B-List item!!! I was able to help out a neighbor…We live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and we are currently experiencing the Largest snow fall we have ever seen!!! Our schools closed on Thursday and no school on Friday. Due to the snow and ice and freezing temp. a lot of us are not able to leave our driveways due to the ice. For some reason (I park in my garage) I was able to leave my driveway and pick up the kiddos from school. Most of my neighbors were not. So I was “bus driver” driving back and forward picking up kids from school and taking them home…since their parents were not able to drive.
