Good morning lovelies!! Ahem, I think you will see a continuing theme through my last posts – I’m just head over heels with flowers. Today I’m featuring another Spoon Flower and this time the petals are gestured downward. This is actually my demo flower – the one I put together while I was playing around – it went together easier than I thought so I decided to use it.
Clean Shabby
So I put together what I call a “clean shabby” birthday card. My sister turned me on to The Fixer Upper – with Joanna Gaines. I love the colors and the look and feel of everything they do! It just made me feel okay that these are the colors I reach for often. The embossing panel reminds me a lovely antique metal tile – I’m using Spellbinders Labels 34 Medallion Embossing Folder. I finished off the edges with Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments – I discarded most of the diecut saving the gorgeous corners to peek out around the edges. It’s ‘no stress’ trimming because my remedial fussy cutting is hidden by the other elements – yay! The stamp sentiment is a handy one from my word tool box, it’s Penny Black – Sentimental. Then the hero or heroine – Spellbinders Petal Pusher. I thought it would make a perfect focal for the entire card with the sweetness of the diecut flower. Don’t be afraid of the dimension – sending in a corrugated dvd box preserves the height and the recipient is in for a wow when they open the flap to an undisturbed flower.

- See this video —–> How to shape Spoon Flowers.
- Cut 3 flowers, shaping as done in video
- Place each set of petals on a foam mat and poke down in center using a something fat like a sharpie or 1/2 paint brush handle.
- Place a dollop of hot glue in the center of each flower and stack one on top of the other – offset each layer slightly.
- Stand back and admire :-)

Wow, that is such a pretty card!!!!! The embossed background really sets everything off beautifully!!
Good evening Becca,
Oh what a lovely surprise finding you have put up another one of your beautiful makes when i wasn’t expecting it. I am not into grungy yuk so i do like things that if they are “shabby chic” they are clean shabby chic. I am not one that can work with sticky or dirty hands as it just makes me go OCD and i like seeing beautiful precise work even if it is not what we would normally class as elegant and stylish, it has a style all of it’s own that people like me can cope with, lol. Thank you Becca for a lovely card using Kraft card which i just have never found a use for, perhaps today is the time that i can actually bring it out to use.
love and crafty hugs

You can never have too many flowers for me! I love this color combination. Thank you for the mid-week lift ~ Sandy
I would have never dreamt of trimming away diecuts like this. Fabulous!!! Hugs Christine xx
Really pretty Becca! This is classical but with modern colours and feel. One of my favourite cards by you. I have just received some spellbinders flower dies which I ordered, I can’t wait to play! Thanks for your inspiring (both artistically and spiritually) posts, they are always a pleasure to read.
Oh, Becca, I just couldn’t get over the perfection of the flower on this card. Your engineering mind amazes me. Sooooo, I quickly went upstairs to my kitchen to fetch the rounded measuring spoons and made, not only the dogwood flower, but the cinch and two other oddly shaped dies. They all came out perfectly. I never would have expected that they could look so darling. Since I am a woman who loves color, I could not resist the temptation to sponge very gently the dies with pastel tones before I spritzed them. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sending big hugs, Sara
I tried the spoon flowers and love it. Have made many with good results. Now my go to quickie. Thank you the technique.

Another awesome Becca creation today. I rewatched your spoon flower video. I learned something more from it today. I still have not tried your technique of forming these flowers. Hopefully after Easter I can get to this type of forming flowers.
