And The Day Came

I received this sweet rose in the mail yesterday and immediately knew what stamp sentiment it would match perfectly.  Suzanne with Quietfire Design sent me this awesome sentiment – And the Day Came.  You may have seen it before as it is in my personal favorites quotes database that rotate on my blog.  So before I crashed and burned with a migraine yesterday, I pulled this little card together fairly quickly

I normally use design paper for my backgrounds and I swear it takes me longer to pick the paper than it does to produce the entire card!!  No so this time – I used a Hero Arts Background stamp just so that I could get ‘er done.  So I set up my background and stamped the flourish.  Then I cut the Spellbinders Curved Rectangle.  I cut and embossed Spellbinders Rose, stenciling it carefully with my SU dye based inks. Lastly I cut and embossed a Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Oval Large and a Spellbinders Petite Oval Large.  Using Chalk Inks, I stamped the sentiment and colored the word "open" with one of the smaller Cat Eye shaped Chalk Ink Pads.  Everything is smudged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – And The Day Came, Swirl – Hot off the Press,  Hero Arts –  Four Leaf Grid background
Paper:  The Paper Company – Khaki, Bazzill
Ink:  SU Rose Red, SU Bravo Burgundy, SU Always Artichoke, SU Old Olive, SU Close to Cocoa, Colorbox Chalk Pink Pastel, Colorbox Chalk Dark  Moss, Colorbox Chalk Rouge, Antique  Linen Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders Rose, Spellbinders Curved Rectangles, Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Ovals Large, Spellbinders Petite Oval Large, Mays Art Silk Ribbon

I’m still here!!  A couple of you have emailed me to make sure I’m okay.  Y’all are so sweet!  I’m doing fine, I’m just in the background doing some serious stamping.

    Becca,

Beautiful card as always. I love that background, all of the elements just look like they were meant to be together on a card. You are like a gymnast that is so good, that she makes her routine on the balance beam look like she’s doing it on the floor instead of a 4 inch wide beam 4 feet above the ground.

    Hugs,
