A JustRite Birthday Reminder

Today I’m sharing a project that I’ve had on my mind this month and finally sat down to make it; it’s a birthday reminder.  I don’t know if you are like me, but I have all my birthdays plugged into my iPhone.  Without fail they come up and remind me, then without fail, I immediately forget.  I know it’s crazy but it may just be because it’s not in my face all the time.  Thats where this project comes in, the clip can sit right on my workspace and that’s a pretty good way to keep it right in my faceJustRite to the rescue with the project; I used JustRite Calendar Borders and Centers and love the variety of borders. . . and as easily could have used THESE.

My listing is computer generated then I cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels Eight for the main part of my panels.  The name of each month is stamped onto Spellbinders Fancy Tags.  Next I stamped my selected border and cut/embossed using Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large.  The Fancy Tag was mounted on the oval then attached to the top of the Labels Eight panel.

I was able to use up quite a few scraps ;D

Then I painted a clothes pin with white gesso and once dry applied paper to the flat surfaces.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Calendar Borders and Centers
Paper:  DCWV and K & Co.
Ink:  Chalk Inks and Memento Black Tuxedo
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Eight, Spellbinders Standard Ovals Large, Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Spellbinders Doodle Parts, Spellbinders Nested Poinsettia, Buttons.

I added some embellishment to the large clothes pin by adding a swirl from Spellbinders Doodle Parts and a flower using Spellbinders Nested Poinsettia as well as a  couple of buttons.

Can you believe we are almost to October?  It’s glorious weather here.  Wherever you are, I hope it’s good too!

    Becca –

Love this project! I have the same problem you do, all my birthdays are in my Palm Pilot and I get reminded in plenty of time. Yet I always am running late – out of sight, out of mind. Thank you for this wonderful idea.

It’s gorgeous in Gulf Shores, too! We are loving every minute we’ve been here (we’re vacationing). Your project is gorgeous! I love those clothespins but have not been able to locate any. I want one for the exact purpose you’ve done this one. I, too, have to have birthdays “in my face” or they slip up on me. Amazingly beautiful, as always, Becca!!ReplyCancel

Thank you THANK YOU…..I clicked on one of the little “you might enjoy”s at the bottom and found the answer to my ribbon problem….I have a fetish also….I cannot pass up beautiful, colorful or SALE ribbon. I have one of those units sitting in my upstairs hall waiting for me to give in and drag it out to the curb…….WELL….not NOW baby. I’m gonna (soon) get my ribbon act together and store it all where I can get at it and it is not devouring everything in sight. You ARE the one, Becca!!! PS I love the birthday project and that is on my list of wants as well.ReplyCancel

awesome Becca!! Allllll your projects are awesome… but I’m the eldest of 10 kids… my parents are still living.. all siblings are married with kids.. and some of the kids have kids.. and every year, we add 2-3 new babies and sometimes new spouses. So, birthdays and anniversaries make up quite a list. I prepare a little calendar for the new year… 1 sheet for each month that is put in it’s appropriate slot in a little calendar book I made them some years back.

I love love love the clothes pin ides and your accents for each page. I always print the months in the coordinating print used in the book.. but I can certainly add to it and add the clothes pin this time around.

*I was also thinking of a question or tip from you for how to best remove the card stock from spellbinder’s pendants without messing it up. I know I need to do it slow and methodical.. but just in case you have a special tip.

You are an awesome inspiration to me!!!ReplyCancel

Hi Becca. OMG. this is just amazing. I’ve got the clothes pins thats been sat there for mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, months, years!!! Yippee, now I know what to do with them. One quick question. Do you back the card onto cardboard to make them stronger? I was just wondering how they go when they are clipped into the peg if its just cardstock. Do you strengthen them at all?ReplyCancel
