A Quick Gift for My Stash

Hi there, don’t forget I have Spellbinders Grand Circles available as current blog candy.  Scroll down to my post from 11/25/10 and leave your comment there :-)

I always try to have a gift in reserve, so that I can give it out or send it out on a moments notice.  With a huge stash of buttons on hand, I found these little wide mouth bottles at Hobby Lobby and thought they would be the perfect size to give away a collection of buttons.  I used the new Tag Die from Our Daily Bread Designs and stamped it with the To, From Sentiment from the Poinsettia Tag Set.  For the mini card I used a sentiment from the Holly Tag Set.

Project Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Poinsettia Tag Set, Holly Tag Set
Paper:  K & Company, Bazzill
Ink:  Ancient Page – Coronado Blue
Accessories:  Our Daily Bread Designs Tag Die, Button Trim (Hobby Lobby), Ribbon, Jar (Hobby Lobby)

While I was playing, I made a quick card today using the same tag die from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Once stamped using a sentiment from the Holly Tag Set, I cut it short and rounded the corners to make it just the right size.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Holly Tag Set
Paper:  Baziill, K & Co.
Ink: Versafine – Vintage Sepia
Accessories:  Our Daily Bread Designs Tag Die Cut, Cricut – Inspired Heart, Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by :-)  We had a quiet Thanksgiving.  Kids had me go to Walmart with them on Thanksgiving night but otherwise I held down the fort while they did the Black Friday dash this morning. I may make it around tomorrow to see what I can see :-)

A delightful gift and adorable card for the crafter/artiste on your list. The creche silhouette diecut is a fabulous design but I missed the ‘recipe’ for it. Oh, wait a minute, I just reread your accessories and maybe it’s the Inspired Heart from Cricut. I don’t have a Cricut so don’t pay much attention to their product listings. It’s a beautifully designed card, of course, with gorgeous background papers. And is the holly pattern a ribbon, diecut, or edge punch? You and your family remain in my prayers.ReplyCancel

  • Marcie SmithNovember 27, 2010 - 2:44 am

    Becca,
Love the jar you used for the buttons. You always find the cutest things at Hobby Lobby!!! Wish we had those here, but we don’t. As big as San Diego is, we are very limited in variety of craft stores.
Love the ric-rac you used to hang the buttons on your card. After our family left Thanksgiving evening and we cleaned up, I took a three hour nap, got up and headed out for some Black Friday sales. I have not done this for quit a few years now and actually after no sleep, batteling the crowds in freezing weather, standing in long lines at the check out, and really not finding alot of what I had actually went out there to get, I was very disappointed and it will be some time before I do this again anytime soon!!!! I am just exhausted.
Did you do any shopping today?

  • Karen LinarezNovember 27, 2010 - 4:17 am

Becca, you have a creativity that never rests, I think. Those buttons hanging from the ric-rac are sooo adorable, and I love the colors. The gift idea is great, too. I did do the Black Friday dash, all through the night, and then slept all day (hence the 3 am post). And, I was happy to find everything I was looking for, which made standing in the freezing cold for 1 1/2 hours worth it (but, my feet were screaming at me for it). Continuing my thankfulness…I’m thankful for you, your creativity and willingness to share it with us, and your wonderful heart that sooo comes through in your blog! Praying for you!ReplyCancel

Becca, both projects are so attractive. I would love to receive the jar with the buttons – how cute! The tag and card are wonderful touches, too. (love the ric-rac use). Of course, the circuit die cut nativity scene is stunning in it’s simplicity.

Both daughters are avid Black Friday shoppers, however, they didn’t get that gene from me! I’m content to stay home and play games with the grandchildren.

    Thank you for sharing, Becca!ReplyCancel

Totally adorable Becca, love the colors, the buttons are so, so adorable! Quick question if you have time. Did you cut the manger scene with the Cricut or is it a laser cut die? I have both a Cricut and a Silhouette and have never used them (I know, I know, spoiled and shame on me for not using them . . . . LOL). I’m totally lazy, I admit it. I haven’t taken the time to read the instructions . . . I’d rather watch the movie . . . LOL! Hugs, JerriReplyCancel

Love the tiny rick- rack, never thought of it going through a button hole. I have some old buttons that were on my Mother’s baby clothes, really tiny. She’d have been 100 in 2012. Also wondering about the nativity die cut. I’m going to have to get out and do a little digging in the hobby stores instead of just running in and out for one thing. Got to use those coupons! Thanks for all the great ideas. I can tie a good bow, I can tie a good bow. How many times do I have to say and do it before it become truth???? Soon I hope.ReplyCancel

Isn’t that just adorable!! You are so totally amazing and generous Becca. I am totally with you I hate black Friday, and there are so many myths, and the supposed bargains, most of the time aren’t bargains, the prices are actually cheaper sometime in September and occasionally in December. Hope your kids found some good stuff.

Oooooh! Buttons are my favorite. You are so creative and I love to see what you’ve created each day. I have hundreds of dollars invested in all things to do with stamping and today I bought three cards in the tune of $8! Ugh. I’m so mad at myself. I find myself sitting, just admiring the “stuff” on my shelves but still no mojo. Oh well, glad you’re here to inspire and maybe someday…..I’ll surprise myself. :) Thanks Becca!ReplyCancel
