Kelly here again. I have temporarily taken over Becca’s Blog so I can put out updates and so that you’ll know how Becca and her family are doing. It’s been a busy week at the Feeken house; family members have started to arrive. Thanks so much to all who have commented to let Becca know you are thinking of her and her family, I have responded to all the emails I’ve received on her behalf and am lifted up by all the support that has poured in. Continue if you can, the family is hurting and hangs on every morsel of kindness as they navigate the ups and downs of grief. I wanted to share a snippet of John’s obituary so that you too can keep him in your hearts and mind as we celebrate his life.
John Charles Feeken, 58, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31st, 2010, while surrounded by his cherished family.
John was a retired Aerospace Control and Early Warning System Technician for the United States Air Force for 25 years. He also worked as a Computer Tech for the local school system where he was lovingly known as "Mr. John".
John, although you met many as strangers, your warmth and charm quickly turned them into friends. You have touched so many lives across the world with your willingness to share a laugh or listen to a concern. Our lives are forever changed for the better simply by knowing and loving you. You will live on always in our hearts.
Edited to Add: Several have emailed me to ask if Paypal donations would be accepted, and if offered the family will graciously accept Paypal donations to "jfeeken2@comcast DOT net" (Remember to change dot to . removing all spaces for the correct email address). Also several have asked to sign the guestbook on the full obituary which can be reached at this HERE.
Continue to lift the Feeken Family through warm thoughts and prayers.
Kelly, thank you for keeping us up to date.
Kelly, thank you for the update. I am keeping the family in my prayers. Lovely tribute to John. TFS
Thank you for the short share about John. We continue to keep the Feeken family in our prayers. Please share hugs for Becca from our family. We hope that having many family members nearby helps to keep in remembrance all the good things John brought with him to all those who knew him. I look forward to more about him as Becca walks through this time in her family’s life. Pass on our love please.
Really appreciate the update from you Kelly. Becca and her family are in our thoughts and prayers. John sounded like a great guy.
I have you and your family in my prayers and in my heart. I know your grief as I too lost my husband at a young age. I have entered you into the prayer list at my church at at my church’s international prayer center “Silent Unity”. Lean on the Lord for he is strong and we are so very weak. He will support you through this time of grieving.
Kelly,
Thank you for letting everyone know how Becca and her family are doing. My family just recently lost a loved one and so I know what they must be going through. But, there is joy in knowing that he is now with his heavenly father.
Give them my heartfelt sympathy and I will praying for God’s love and peace to carry them through.
Sheila
Sorry to hear about your loss. Prayers that you will find comfort and strength in God’s love and the support of family and friends.
Oh, Becca I didn’t know until now. I am so, so sorry. Your cherished John is home with the Lord and I know that has to be a comfort to you, but I know the heartbreak sneaks up on us anyway. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. May the Lord hold you and keep in His loving arms. He will get you through this.
Thank you, Kelly, for keeping us updated!! What a “best friend” you are!!! Becca and the rest of the family are still in my prayers. Nobody but GOD can take the pain away and that will take time! Hugs and prayers, Sabrina
Becca, your John sounds like a wonderful man and he is way to young to go with the lord. I’m sorry I haven’t written sooner, but just found out today. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this sad time. God Bless each of you. Edna
My thoughts and prayers are with Becca and the whole Feeken family. My heart aches for you, Becca. Having been widowed at only 34, I understand your pain. I will be praying for all of you and know that you will gain much strength from your faith. John’s life was much too short, but I believe that he left a huge handprint on the world. Many hugs!
Becca, Family and Friends….please know that we are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers that you would feel God’s loving arms enfolding you at this difficult time.

May the love and support of friends help you navigate this difficult time, and may you know our thoughts and prayers are with you (((hugs))).
Becca and her family are in my thoughts and prayers and I am so sorry about John’s passing. He does sound like a marvelous fellow and he had to be, with such a wonderful wife. You are such a great friend Kelly, to keep Becca’s friends updated and just to be available to her if/when she needs you. God bless!
Becca,

Kelly, thank you for the update. I will continue to keep the family in my prayers. The photo of John and obituary is beautiful.
Blessings,
Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you. God be with you.
Becca and family, I continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. It has always been wonderful to hear about your love for John and the family, it makes all of us feel a part of your life. I heard this on the radio yesterday and thought of you….”God doesn’t give us strength for tomorrow, He gives us strength for today.” How very true that is. When my husband died at 50, I survived just one day at a time. Belief in him getting me through just made me stronger every day. Take care!
Love and warm, warm hugs.
Anna
P.S. Thanks Kelly for your dedication to keeping all of Becca’s online family informed.
Thanks so much for filling in for Becca. What a wonderful friend you are.
I’ve never met Becca, but feel like I know her well. I look at her blog every day. I have sent her a card that she can look at later. My prayers are with you all.
What a precious man. I cried when I saw his photo on the blog this morning. I am heartbroken for you Becca, but know that God truly, honestly, has you in His forever arms. He blessed your life with John and Heaven is even more glorious now that he is there with his Father.
Funny how we grow to care so much for total strangers via blog…but we do. As sure as the leaves are falling outside, your creations honestly cause my heart to stir with beauty and creativity. I am blessed by your work and oh, how I wish to inspire others if even just a small amount, as you have inspired me.
God bless you….and Becca, He will keep you. God will never let you go, even in times such as these.

Kelly, thank you for updating us all about Becca. Reading John’s obituary brought tears to my eyes, I don’t know Becca and him but thru her website in my heart I just know how precious John was to her and how incredibly sad his passing must be for her.
Being a widow myself and losing my husand after 30 years I know how incredibly difficult, painful and sad this time is for her right now. Please share with her that my love, prayers and thoughts are with her family, losing someone you with your entire heart and soul is the hardest thing any of us can experience, the grief can be so overwhelming, may God bring comfort and love to her family right now.
May Becca’s loving, precious memories of John help sustain her thru this sorrowful time in her life. Hugs and much love, Pam
Thank you for the very special update. May you all find Peace that he is with his Lord. Treasure the many Great Memories of a kind and gentle man.
May God Bless All of You.
Dear Kelly, Dearest Becca, I only now read your email about the death of your husband because we are going through the same trauma here. my mom and stepdad was in an accident 2wks ago ,mom was driving and while turning on a green robot another car hit them from the front and on the side of my stepdad, he was in a coma for a week and then went to the Lord, it was a terrible shock for our family too. Becca my heart goes out to you and sending you my thoughts and prayers too,,all the way from South Africa. I enjoy your newsletters so much and your beautiful cards are such an inspiration to me, i can only pray that you will heal and find comfort in the Lord. Susan.
When I read about John, my heart was so heavy for Becca and family. Even though I don’t know her personally, I feel we are connected through our daily internet connections with the sharing of her faith and her gifted talent of creating. Please know you are in my thoughts, prayers and praying for God’s love to surround you and your family at this time.
A friend once said to me that when our love ones pass on they just out-ran us to the Father’s House.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. He was a wonderful person although I didn’t know him, I know how great a man he was through your blog.
Kelly-
Thank you for posting so that we can all keep this wonderful family in our hearts. John touched ALL our lives by protecting us and our freedoms during his service in the Air Force, and we owe a debt of gratitude also to his family who served along with him. The love in this family was a wonderful example to all. Our prayers are with you.
Pamela
Kelly, Thanks for the update. It was so nice to share the tribute to John.
Becca, The Lord has John in his house now and He has wrapped His arms around you and your family in this time of need. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Barbara
Kelly, we all appreciate you keeping us informed about Becca. I am new to her blog, but feel as though I know her, and was so sad to learn of John’s homegoing. Although she knows he is better off, and with his Lord, she and the family are the ones who need our prayers, and please let her know that I, along with hundreds of others are doing just that. Let her know she is in our hearts and prayers. Thanks!
Thank you for the update Kelly. Please let Becca know that I am thinking of her and her family all the way from the Middle of England – my heart really goes out to her and her loved ones as I know how difficult losing someone so close is. Its so raw at first with many emotions to deal with. When my Dad passed – which was just 2 years ago – we found ourselves also laughing at some of the things he did and said and it was his own strengthe and dignity at dealing with his own illness that got us through some really tough times. I hope that the family find a similar strength – but feel that their faith is the strongest of all which will help them deal with this sad loss.
I hope that love surrounds them at this time, because its the love for each other that will be their strenght too.
All my love
Paula, Derbyshire, UK. x x x

Sending some love across the miles to you and your family Becca, find comfort in your family and friends and the love that they share for you.

Ah, Kelly. What a truly dear friend you are. Thank you so much for your beautifully expressed message to let us know how Becca and her family are doing. They have been in my thoughts all week, and it is heartwarming to know that they are receiving comfort and support from such a caring friend.
John’s obituary is clear testament as to the very special man he was … but I already knew that, because Becca clearly loved him so. I well remember the gorgeous photograph of John which accompanies the lovely words, because Becca shared it with us some time ago and I was struck then by its beauty and serenity. It is so poignant to see it again now and be aware once more of the special aura of this really lovely image.
My thoughts remain very much with Becca and her children as they struggle with the immense loss of their dearly beloved Husband and Father.
Sending Heartfelt Hugs & Love, Melodie

Tell Becca I’m praying for her. I was widowed at the age of 27 so I do know how she is feeling. Tell her to take it one step at a time and take care of herself. That’s something we often forget to do in our grief.

I will continue to pray for Becca and her family that they will have the strength to get through these tough days ahead.
Becca – So sorry for your loss and praying for your family as you say goodbye to your soul mate. I know your strength is from the Lord and praying you and your family feel His arms of love wrapped around you during this time. A wonderful song comes to mind as you say goodbye – Finally Home by Don Wyrtzen and the chorus says it all:
Just think of stepping on shore, and finding it heaven
Of touching a hand, and finding it God’s
Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial
Of waking up in Glory, and finding it “Home”
Kelly, thank you for being such a faithful friend to OUR BECCA. Please extend my deepest sympathy to the Feeken family at this their sad time of great loss.
I am fairly new to cardmaking but have not visited Becca’s blog in the recent past but I am indebted to her for the inspiration and beauty she shares through her blog. She and her family will be in my prayers. May God continue to strengthen & bless you all.

Kelly, thank you for keeping Becca’s blog friends in the loop.
To Becca and family,
Our God is a God of comfort and strength. Lean on Him as he surrounds you with angels to minister to your needs. Becca, crawl up in the lap of Abba and let him hold you and minister to your heart. I know that it is shattered by the loss of John, who left way too soon. But we rejoice that John is healed and is in the arms of God.
You have shared so much of yourself and have many friends from all over the world lifting you up to Jesus. May you feel the presence and power of all the prayers being lifted up in your name and your family’s name.
Jean-North Carolina

Becca, I can’t say I know what you are going through because everyone grieves different.
But I can tell you I know how I felt when my Sweetheart passed away EXACTLY 3 years ago to the day from when your Sweetheart passed away.
I find writing to my Sweetheart to be very comforting.
I am on my 45th book to him.
I have saved every card he ever sent me and I get them out and read them often.
He alway wrote such sweet things in my cards.
your John looks like a very sweet caring Handsome man. I know you are missing him deeply right now.
I will keep you and you family in my prayers.
God bless, AndreaA

What a blessing to know that your loved one is with the Savior. He would never want to trade places to come back to this earth since he not only sees “all the things the Lord has prepared for those who love Him,” but His Savior’s face as well.
I am praying that you, family and friends will feel the comfort that only the Lord can provide at a time like this. He will give you strength one step at a time until the day you are reunited with your loved one. And “what a day of rejoicing that will be!”
Thank you Kelly for the update. My heart aches for Becca and her family….please convey my deep felt condolences. God’s blessings to them.

Love to you my dear friend,
Diana
Thank you Kelly I have John and the family in my prayers.
Becca you have been a true example of what God wants women to be in their role of a Christian wife. Your marriage is a testament to God’s will for us when he said, “the two shall become one”. John is now living pain free – praise God! You and your family are in the prayers of many who love you and are your family because of Christ Jesus. Take all the time you need – we will be here when you are ready.
Kelly, Thank you so very much for being such a wonderful friend and support. I commend you for your willingness to be there for the family, God has blessed them with a wonderful helper in their time of need. Becca and her family will be in our prayers for months to come, and more so in a couple of weeks. Thanks again for the updates and helping us to know and see a little more the the John we had heard little bits about, that Becca so admired. You are a gem of a friend!
My thoughts and prayers go out to Becca and her family. I know that this must be such a difficult time for all of you, but God is with you every step of the way. Take care, Becca.
Blessings,
Pat

To Dear Becca, my heart is sad at your great loss. Please know that you are in my prayers and, as your Blog family, we love you so much we share your grief. I pray you get through the next difficult time with the help and support of friends and family.
Wendy
Becca, God has given you a beautiful talent in your creativity. I hope you will use it now, in your time of grief to help comfort you. I have been in your shoes recently, having lost my mom, my dad, and my brother in a very short period. I know your devastation. The loss doesn’t leave but the pain does lessen with time. I will keep you in my prayers.
Kelly thank you for letting us know. Dear Becca and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Reading today I can see what a special man he was to not only you and yours, but to all he touched. What a wonderful legacy John has left to cherish. I know you will remember him always with a smile, love him forever, and cherish all those wonderful memories. We are hurting with you and send you hugs and love.
Becca, I am so sorry for the loss of your husband, your Best Friend, your Lover and Father to your children. I know this is not an easy time and it will take time to heal your heart. But you know where your strength comes from and he is right there beside you, holding you up and holding you in His precious arms in only the way the Lord can.

This is such a difficult time for a family. This was a young man! I did not know him and only know Becca through her blog and marvelous stamping. The hurt she is suffering now will last for the rest of her life, she will only get used to that hurt. I pray for her and her family every time I see her blog on my blog reader. Oh Becca, Oh Becca, I just wish I could meet you in person and hug you.

Dear, dear Becca,
I’m so very sorry to hear of your husband’s passing. I’m sitting here crying at just the thought of losing my sweet husband and my heart breaks for you. We will never understand God’s plan until the day we meet Him face-to-face and this is one of those things that makes me ask, “Why God? Why?”
You have been such an inspiration to me since I’ve been following your blog. You have a wonderful talent. I’m certain God has further plans for your and your children and once the pain has dulled a bit, I look forward to seeing what those plans are!
For now, just know that you are loved and He holds you right there in the palm of His hand.
In Christ’s love,
Cindy Key
Kelly,
Thank you for the update. Like so many others I will lift Becca and the rest of her family and close friends up in prayer.

Dear Becca, John’s family and friends,
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I realize how empty such words can sound but the feeling behind them is sincere and filled with the love of our God. We are commanded to love one another and it seems that John fulfilled that commandment with such grace. Those of us who follow Becca feel her love through her sharing of her craft and the beauty of her art.
I am lifting you up in prayer for peace and strength as you are faced with this very difficult time.
God Bless you and Keep you close,

Thank you Kelly for the update and sharing some of who John was with us all. Most importantly John loved the Lord and has secured eternity with Him. I hope that is bringing comfort to the Feeken family as they suffer through these difficult days.
I pray for Becca and her children to be wrapped in God’s Love and given strength to handle the heartache they are enduring.
With Love
Thank you, Kelly, for keeping us updated.
Becca, I know that your faith will keep you strong. Your faith in God and in the fact that John loved you. Take your time and do what you need to do. There is no time table for grief. You’ll know when it feels right to do certain things. Let your heart and mind be your guides. Remember you aren’t ever truly alone. Thinking of you and yours,

Becca,
I am sorry that I was unable to write to you sooner. Words are just not enough. Only time will fill the void that I know you are feeling. But in time as you numbly put one foot in front of the other and go through the motions, you will start living your life again. The numbness will thaw and gradually you will realize that there is a life to be had without that special someone that you have shared everything with for so long. I know this, because I have been there. Keep the faith dear one and God will guide you through this. I am praying for you and your family. God bless – Keep safe.
Hugs,
Marcie
What a wonderful tribute!
still sending out positive and peaceful energy to the family.

Thank you Kelly for posting this as there are many of us lifting Becca and family in prayer and wondering how they all are. The sheer volume of messages shows how many lives Becca has touched through her caring and sharing and also through her faith.
Thank you for the lovely photo of John. I have been ‘seeing’ in my mind that photo which Becca shared of him some time ago and remembering those kind eyes.
‘Mr. John’/’Mrs. Becca’ – we may not have known you in person – and yet we did through these pages. May sweet memories of you ease the hearts of those who wait until you meet again and may God surround them in His loving arms.

Becca, I am so very sorry for your loss. It is always hard to say good bye, even if it is just for now. You will certainly meet again through God’s mercy. What a wonderful gift you both had while he was here on earth. Take care of yourself through the grief; it can consume you; but know that God’s arms will be around you for the comfort that you need. You have many friends that you have never met through your creative talents. Your support system will be great.
Thanks for sharing with the outside world your thoughts and the picture of John which is such a great photo….contemplative and it shows his strength. I continue to uphold Becca and her family in prayer. God will carry them through this time and in just the blink of an eye we will all be reunited in His presence.

Please tell Becca how deeply sorry I am for the loss of her husband. Dear Becca and Family, My thoughts are with you at this time .Take comfort he is now with our lord . god bless
this is my first time visiting my Aunt’s Blog. and words can’t describe how much it means to me that so many people that admire her work, love her so much. Uncle John was one of my biggest role models in life. and i miss him very much so. Ms. Kelly, i really do want to thank you for everything you’re doing for The Feekens. i know it means so much to them. Uncle John’s passing has had such an impact on me, that i’ve been silent. not silent because i don’t know what to say, but silent because i’ve been thinking. A lot of my friends here in Sumter, would love to donate to the Feekens, we’ve only been back in south carolina for 9 hours, and already i’m having people come up to me outside, handing money asking if i’d send it to them. and by all means i have no problem with it.
I love you so much, Aunt Becky,
and me and daddy are always here for you!
and we’re thinking of Lauren, Jordan, and Marissa.
Thanks for sharing about John. He sounds like a wonderful man and I am sure his family will be greatly missing him. I hope they can take comfort in his life and start enjoying the things they love again soon.
Dear Becca and Family,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. May God grant you strenght, peace and comfort during this time.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you during the coming days, weeks and months as you and your family grieve the loss of your husband. I have been where you are and although each persons grief is unique, I think we all go through the same stages. . . God Bless

I’m just in here to express how absolutely torn into pieces I am to read about John. OMGosh, it breaks my heart, and I am so sorry to the entire Feeken family. My husband walked by the computer and asked what I was crying about, so he asked me to pass along his sincerest condolences as well. Our hearts are aching along with yours, please know that our prayers are with you, big time.
So sorry for your loss, I prayed that God will send angels to comfort you during this time.
Becca and family: My heart and prayers are with you during this time. I can only imagine what a special man John was….and what a void he leaves. I weep for you all. I know he will live on in your minds and hearts with the many memories you have.
I was brought to tears by Becca’s loss. I have only been reading her blog for a couple months. I knew John was ill, but do not know what his medical problems were. I got the impression that he had not been well for quite awhile. What was his illness? I plan to make her a card and get it into the mail. Thank you so much for taking the time to keep us up on Becca and her family.
Becca, I don’t have words that can take away your pain, but still want to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Blessings
Kelly.
What a friend you are to Becca and her family.
What a terrible loss for her and them’ She is such a beautiful person and her gift of cardmaking has made lots of hearts sing with joy.
May the fact that so many people are praying for her help in some small way and the love of God enfold her and all the family and friends
