Anyone Can Count

Hi there blog friends, good Monday morning to you.  As usual today begins with the newest Mojo Sketch, Mojo Monday 191.  Can I just say — I love this sketch — by all accounts it.is.a.classic!!  I encourage you that if you don’t have a jumping off point, sit down and do a sketch.  It will spawn other ideas and is an excellent way to jump start your creativity.

Because I had less than an hour to spend, I reached for familiar stuff for my card.  I’m using Girls Paperie, a punch, seam binding and some pearls.  That pretty much takes care of it.  I hope you  are in for a spectacular week – mine will be busy but you know I love it that way :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Serendipity Stamps
Paper: The Girls Paperie, Strathmore
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Martha Stewart Punch, Zva Creative Pearls, Seam Binding

Take care friends!!  See you tomorrow!

What a lovely pick-me-up to a bleak, cold, rainy day in South Eastern Quebec. Love the sentiment and how you’ve presented it. Cheery colours to offset the weather. It doesn’t get any better that this. Thanks for brightening my day.ReplyCancel

Such an awesome card from you again dear. I love the way, you´ve made the toplayer into an apple to fit the saying, and that swirl of beads is just gorgeous and just make it compleetely of. It´s wonderful work, and I can only agree with you about using sketches, if you´ve got a bit sticked. I also does that now and then, and it can often make you create something, you didn´t even thought you could. This one is just wonderful.ReplyCancel

  • Pat JandacekMay 16, 2011 - 1:51 pm

Another beautiful card, Becca. I have a question/comment: When you apply the pearl embellishments it doesn’t seem to matter that they have to span the unsupported space between the separated layers. I presume they’re on an acetate backing that supports them, but the underside would have adhesive on it, wouldn’t it? What keeps them somewhat suspended? I should think any pressure would ruin the appearance. I know your gorgeous creations are hand delivered or boxed for mailing but how do you protect them prior to delivery?ReplyCancel

  • sandi ackermanMay 16, 2011 - 9:56 pm

HI that was a border punch product wasn’t it? I tried one and a larger border works better or at least is probably easier but I will keep trying. I used it for a bookmark and it did turn out nice. I also really like the Versafine Ink. It is so clear.ReplyCancel

  • TinaMay 19, 2011 - 10:18 am

Lovely card! Did you hand cut the apple? Fussy cutting makes me nervous! I was wondering if you could give the diameter of your flower loom, I could not find the little wooden box at Michael’s and I thought I would just use a round piece of wood around the same size. Thank you for all you do. God Bless.ReplyCancel

What a cute stamp and I love how it fits in the apple! Very clever! This looks like a fun sketch to try.ReplyCancel
