I have a new card to share today, I managed to squeeze in a couple of minutes of me time! Don’t you feel like you’ve accomplished something when you can at least eek out a card every once in a while? This is a springy card to match just the way I feel. As I do every now and again, I challenged myself to pick the speed up and get ‘er done. Remember, I’m the one that can spend and hour just picking out paper? Is is just me?
The paper is some of my favorite K and Company. As I rarely do, I stamped directly on the the paper . . . it just seemed a shame to cover it up. The sentiment is another from Our Daily Bread Designs from the set called Mother’s Day.
SUPPLIES I USED |
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Mothers Day Paper: K & Company, The Paper Company Ink: Versafine Black Onyx Accessories: EK Success Abstract Flower Border Punch, Pearls, Bazzill Bling, ribbon |
Running off to take care of some family business, hugs friends – keep your eyes open for a big blog candy I’ll be offering with some lovely paper!
The is so pretty… and yes, I spend way too much time deciding what papers to use, what the layout should be, which embellishments to use. It can day me days to finish a card sometimes because I need to walk away and think about if for a while. :)
Very pretty and delicate looking! Thanks Becca for sharing!
Breathtakingly beautiful, Becca!
So simple and so very beautiful, Becca.
Becca –
This is just gorgeous. I really love how it turned out.

I thought that I was the only one who would look at paper for hours trying to figure out what would go good together. I don’t feel so bad now. I can have three or four different combination and end up not liking any of them, put it all back and start over. Decisions, decisions.
What a lovely spring-like card Becca and I love the lacey effect on the bottom. Ooooh I take ages about choosing papers, colours and which die to use Becca…maybe that’s why I don’t get many cards done! Lol! Anyway I spend so much time looking through all your stunning creations…another reason why I don’t get many done! Lol!
Have a lovely weekend..I’ll be missing from Monday as I’m going away for a few days so please don’t think I’m ignoring your blog! I’ll e back!!!
Love Sheila xx
I “Love” paper. Yes, it takes me forever to pick out a particular piece for a page or card. I can just sit and look through my paper. Some are hard to use! This is a beautiful card. Perfect for mother’s day, perhaps with a different sentiment. You do wonderful work and I so enjoy coming here! Blessings to you!
What a beautiful card, so soft and sweet. When I grow up I want to make cards just like you. : )
Oh, I do like this card. The colours, as you said are so ‘springy’. I spend way to much time fussing over the paper – do they go together? Do I have ribbon and embellishments that might work with it. I do understand.
This is gorgeous Becca, Love the DP it is beautiful anything with flowers makes my heart sing. Love the die-cut border very pretty. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-D
Hey Becca, lovely job. And no, you are not the only one. spend more time deciding on the paper than anything else. I’ll start with an idea in my head, with a stamp or a cricut cut, and then must find the perfect paper. Or I’ll start with the recipiants favorite color, and move on to the paper. Sometimes it can take a couple of days to come together. If it’s not working, I set it aside and work on something else. It usually works to refresh my thoughts. TFS
Hugs, Jessica
Hi Becca,
Your card is beautiful. I know what you mean about taking a hour just to pick out the paper that you will use. I am very slow making cards but I think that I love the process of creating just as much as the actual making of the card. It does make it a little hard to make deadlines though. I must say that all of your cards are worth waiting for. :)
Have a beautiful day sweetie.
Hugs and Blessings,
Deb
yes, I spend the most time picking out paper, too. Maybe too many choices…? This is so pretty! I have the same paper pad and have used many of the papers already. I love it, too! have a great weekend!
Becca:
So beautiful and happy card. Love your touch of ribbons.
Can you share how you do the “lacy” trims.
Is it just using paper punches?
Thanks
Have a blessed day.
Ruth
This is way beautiful! You could frame this as artwork…just like a lot of your cards! I know what you mean about picking out paper (and embellishments and rubber stamps and, and, and….). What’s worse is once I get it home, I almost hate to cut into some of it. Blessings on you, Becca!

Becca
Your card is beautiful. I love that paper.

Beautiful card. That paper is stunning.
this is so so beautiful!!!!
Beautiful scripture, beautiful paper and beautiful bow :o)
Hugs
Anne (UK) x
What a beautiful card. I love the lacy layered border.
K & Co. is one of my favorites when it comes to paper and embellishments because they have the look of quality. I know you will understand this term, Becca (because you sew): their paper has “a good hand to it”.
Also, I can spend hrs trying to pick out all the right things for a card. Then,
as I’m doing it will say “oh that doesn’t look right” and find something else.
There are times I end up with something entirely different from the way it
started!
love it – I must look for that border punch!!!!
I am glad to hear that you take a long time to pick out just the right paper and such, for the card you are creating. I want it to really speak to the person I am making it for. So that they know that it comes from my heart. Once agian you have created a masterpiece. LOL
Oh Such a Lovely card! Awesome paper and ribbon. Love this simple LO.
I really have a difficult time deciding on papers too. I can spend half my day finding papers that work together. When I find a combo I like I keep them together in a separate file. This really saves me time.
Blessings Bernie
I love this card! It just makes me feel happy to look at it. I have this pack of paper from K and Company and love each one. I am making Mothersday cars from this paper too! Thanks for the breath of fresh spring air. Becca you are the best!
Elegant card and this is the first time I can recall you using sheer ribbon. I have the sheer ribbon, if I had your talent……..I don’t, that is God’s gift to you and thanks for sharing it with us. Have a great day.
Oh my, oh my! This one is really truly the best one yet. Even better than all the other best-one-yets. The colours are enough to wake one up with their energy and life. It is so fresh and delicate. It makes me want to sing.
Lovely card. Yes, I too can spend all my time on my many choices. Then EEk I’m out of time.
This card is beautiful! I love that you stamped directly on the paper. I just bought this stack because it is so stunning. So often there are the large designs, too large for cards, but you have just provided inspiration for what to do with these pages! I was actually going to frame this page with the bike because it is just lovely. Thanks for sharing your genius!
Becca I can take an entire day to do one card! I am hardcore at rubber stamping so often create my own paper for cards but it is lovely to see stamping over decorative paper. I seldom do this as often the papers I like seem to have a finish on them that does not take stamped ink very well. Your card is lovely and perfect! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Becca, your blog candy is so generous and your new cards is really is beautiful.
You are not the only one that spends an hour picking out paper. I have to go through almost everything just to be semi satisfied. Then, you have to move on to the embellishments and the list goes on and on!! I love your beautiful card it is truly and inspiration .
Who says simple isn’t beautiful. I love this paper. The way you selected this image to fit on the card was perfect and I love that you were able to just stamp a sentiment that did not take away from the image at all. Perfect selection.
Marcie
this is very beautiful, I love the colors and sentiment.
That is just beautiful Becca!!! I love how you used the edge dies to create what looks almost like a ruffle!!!
Ohhhhh, this paper is gorgeous and the scripture verse is so wonderful for Mother’s Day! Thank you for sharing your terrific card with us.
No, Becca, it isn’t just you. I spend more time on picking out the paper and the embellishments than I do on actually creating the card! ARGGGHH! I wish I could come up with creative ideas more quickly.
You always give me inspiration with your beautiful creations! Thank you!!!
Wishing you a blessed day!
Beautiful…as always :) You are a very talented lady
Oh my, Becca.
The moment I saw this card I was instantly in love. When I saw the paper I thought maybe it was a find or print from something from the past. Glad to know it is K&Co. I think their papers are so elegant and classy. I will have to search for this paper. There is no way I can pass up making a card like this.
Thanks for always sharing. You are a priceless crafting friend.
God Bless,
Becky
Becca,
This is so pretty! I love the idea of stamping on the picture. Might need to use the idea to create some cards using some paper I have not used because it was to pretty to cover up. Thank you for sharing.
Also Wanted to let you know that I also take hours to decide on papers and embellies before I create and then keep on changing and adding. Thank you again and have a wonderful weekend.
Becca, this card is so beautiful, I never think to stamp on the paper and this is soo pretty. Love the punched borders and oooohhhh the bow!!!!
You have great taste in paper!
Hello Becca another beautiful card. I also spend ages picking out paper etc to use- you are not alone. Anne x
Becca,
I love this card. The colors and picture are so soft and spring feeling. Everything about it just screams….SPRING! Another masterpiece from you!
Blessings…Leanne
Becca,
Your card is so soft. I love the colors and spring flowers. It screams “SPRING”.
Blessings…Leanne
Beautiful Springy card! I especially like the lacey border-now how was that done? My problem is that I buy, buy, buy paper cause they’re all so beautiful then I have difficulty coming to grips and putting them through the paper trimmer! I know it’s just paper-but it’s so hard parting ways lol!!!!!!!
Beautiful card and paper! Are you the only one???? Girlfriend, I not only spend an hour picking out the paper,(and there are some I just can’t bring myself to cut!) but then spend hours and sometimes days, just trying to get the right layout that makes me happy. Hubby says the cards are worth hundreds of dollars each if we would count the hours put in ;) No my dear, you are not near alone, we belong to a very special group of people called “paperholics”.
Hi Becca,
This card is just beautiful as all your cards are, to think you just used the paper is a wonderful idea, thank you.
Rene from OZ xo
No…not just you – I can spend a LOT of time in the store…and not just for the paper!!!! Then can’t wait to get home and make something…which usually does not happen – life gets in the way. Most times I just store it away and forget I even have it….sooooooo sad! Somehow, I don’t think I’m alone in this ‘problem’. On the bright side, it’s like my birthday when I re-discover my stored treasure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a thrill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs,
Jan Castle
Beautiful!!
It’s such a lovely card, just love the paper and the punched trim looks so delicate.
Oh no your not the only one who spends an hour for the right paper!!
Then of course there’s the right ribbon and so on lol. If it doesn’t look right it doesn’t feel right does it? Isn’t it great though when it all comes together.
OH Becca!!!!!!!!! This is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE the paper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your ribbon is PERFECT, being sheer with this wonderful paper!!!!!!!!! YOU DID A SUPER JOB on this!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I love this card. It is a beautiful card to make for any woman especially for Moms. I might try and make this card for my mom for Mother’s Day since I haven’t made hers yet. Love the paper pattern, colors and creation of this card. Has eleganances too. Thank you.
What a beautiful card, Becca. No, it isn’t just you. I always take so much more time choosing paper than making the cards, and usually change my mind a couple of times before the final decision. Oh, the challenges we crafters face.
Love this paper and card Becca. I am also a slow card maker/scrapper. I take ages to make up my mind finding and pulling out different papers and embellishments, stamping or die cutting something just to put it aside and stamp/cut a “better” colour! And the cleaning up after one of these sessions takes a while too! I am better if I have double sided paper as the two sides usually look great together, even better is a set/range/pad of paper although I don’t always agree with the designers about what goes well together! lol.
It isn’t just you, Becca. There are many times it takes me ALL DAY to make one card. Sigh. Your work is always SO beautiful, and I enjoy checking your blog daily.
I hoard papers – like I do fabric – so I can spend a long time trying to decide what paper to use…..don’t want to be wasteful! I haven’t seen this beautiful paper – it’s wonderful – and stamping directly on it allows everyone to also focus on the paper. You are so daring, Becca!
Thanks –
hugs
Oh, my…..absolutely gorgeous!
Beautiful card. Thanks for sharing.
I call it over analyzing. I LOVE the layered punched edgings.
It is nice to see there are others that take so long to finish a card! Beautiful card and I love the paper!!!!!
All your cards are gorgeous. One reason is that the stamps are always so endearing! I got my score-buddy and score tape today and I’ve been going crazy trying it out. Thanks so much for the winning opportunity.
This is a beautiful card! I love the paper and am wondering about the pretty paper.
Oh My goodness Becca this card is beautiful!!! I love how you stamped directly onto the paper. It definitely would have been a shame to cover it up, it’s a beautiful paper. The sentiment is just beautiful as well. Great job on this one.
Becca this card is so beautiful. Simple yet so elegant. I love the paper!!
You’re right the paper is too beautiful to cover up. Have a nice day!
Oh I have that paper pad and I just love the sheet you have used. I just don’t want to part with it yet! I love how you have used it and may make a card now just for myself!
Our local scrapbook store, Legacy Scrapbooks in Cedarburg, WI, has 2 rummage sales a year. The first year I attended I bought 30 different colors of Whispers ink pads for $3, 50 slate blue pearlized 6″ square envelopes for 50 cents and an unopened pack of 9 pearlized paint bottles for $1.50…what
a blessing…since I went to the sale with $5…a gift from Sharon who supports my cardmaking minisitry to Jewish immigrants returning to Israel.
Wow, aren’t you just the best, another great giveaway.
Love looking at your site even without the giveaways, so inspirational.
Thanks.
I feel guilty if I buy anything that is not on sale. Love your projects. I check your blog every day.
How lovely! I really like the layers of lacey borders with pearls. Also, that paper is gorgeous. I wouldn’t want to cover it up either. It’s nice to have some papers like that on hand where you can stamp a sentiment on, add some accents, boom, done.
What a great card and a great idea. I have never stamped directly on the paper. I work at a scrapbooking store and was just looking at the K.Company paper last night. I am back there again today so it is now a must bye..
Thanks again.
My great clearance was when we were visiting Florida and I saw the drapes I had been looking at at Bed Bath and Beyond on half price. Not wanting to miss out on such a great bargain – I actually carried them home on the plane. While ironing them I found that one had a huge flaw in it. Fortunately, I was able to take it to our local store and they ordered a replacement for me. They are beautiful in our bedroom! that’s only one of my clearance stories.
Hi Becca, I don’t mind rummaging for specials but I don’t like standing in line for the doors to open. I love your card, is the paper from old stock, can’t seem to find it on K @ C site.
Rene from OZ xo
that is some gorgeous paper you wouldn’t want to cover up, love your punched borders, lovely card!
I understand about picking out the paper. But why does it feel like I get almost everything out before I finish up a card? Any advice?
This is such a lovely card
Such a beautiful card. Love the lace at the bottom
Another fantastic card!!! Love viewing your work. The best clearance sales are the ones I just fall into once in awhile…and then boy! do I go to town. Most of the time nothing goes with anything, but then lo and behold I find something I need–and there it is. But everything gets used sooner or later.
The best clearance sale is one when I actually have some money to spend, which is not often.
Becca , this card came out beautiful. I think the stamping and the bits of embellishment made the flowers pop even more.
Becca, I also can spend an hour picking out paper and embellishments! I’m a paperholic, ha! Love your site and the inspiration it gives me to improve my cards and techniques. Thank you for sharing your creative talent with us.
Becca, I too can spend an hour picking out paper and embellishments, I’m a certified paperholic! Your blog inspires me to push my creativity. Tthank you for sharing your magnificent talent with us.
Love clearance sales! Have found some great items at Michael’s on clearance – as well as Belk’s and TJ Maxx throughout the years… Thanks, Becca, for your great site; love your style.
All my work right now revolves around my daughter’s wedding. The greatest “clearance sale” I’ve ever found is your blog! I stumbled across it as we began plans for the wedding. I’ve gotten so many wonderfoul ideas for thank you gifts and cards from your site. And it is all using materials I already have on hand. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and creativity.
I know exactly what you mean. I actually don’t know how you always have something beautiful to show us, because I take hours to get a card done and then a long time to finally get the post complete on my fairly new blog (I’ve missed challenge deadlines because of it). I’m hoping I can get faster at it, because I don’t have hours to spend every day to get a card done, and I’d sure like to be able to share a card just about every day. I love the simplicity of this card, and you’re right those flowers are too pretty to cover up. Just lovely, Becca!
Becca,
so glad you didn’t cover up this lovely paper, wonderful card!
Niki
Oh my goodness, this is so beautiful. The colors really grab you and I love the sentiment.
Hi Becca,
I’m not sure I could have done what you did with the towing! Glad you’re back safe and sound. I’m always in love with your cards, but especially your bows and flowers. I bought some flimsy material today to try my hand with some flowers on YouTube. I’d love to see a video on your latest glam flower.
I have to amend my just-previous comment. I am not on YouTube, thank you very much. I saw a young man named Drew who made some flowers so simple that there is absolutely no fear factor for me. Tomorrow will be the day to try them as I make cards for my Dine-and Swap card group.
LOL, no one else is awake at this hour of the morning. I’m not by choice, and I don’t have a job, but I won’t go into details. I have to say I spent OVER an hour yesterday picking out paper at Hobby Lobby that was on sale. The store loved me when I checked out, ha ha.
I commented a couple of days ago that this was such an inspiration for using those large but lovely 12 x 12 dp sheets. Well, I just wanted to show you how I made a card using just one of these sheets. You can see it at my blog. Gave you a much-deserved shout out, too!
What a beautiful Spring card, lovely paper, lovely colours and the ribbon just finishes it off.
LOL Eileen
