Bird Call – New Cuttlebug Embossing Folder!

I’m so tickled that I got one of my new Cuttlebug Embossing Folders in the mail today.  I don’t know what made me order this particular one, but I just love the lone serene bird sitting in the tall grass.  I played with this folder for a long time trying to figure out ways to color it, but then settled on the simplicity of just painting the bird.  A couple of swipes with an aquapainter and I was done.

Supplies:
Stamps: Wordsworth
Paper:  Bazzill, Fabriano Acquarello Watercolor Paper
Ink:  SU Brocade Blue
Accessories:  Ribbon, Dew Drops

This is so elegant. So many so often layer a card to the hilt and miss the beauty in the simple. This is wonderful. Thanks for the inspiration.ReplyCancel

Becca….I looked at this folder and passed right by it …not knowing how it would look….but your card is so elegant and eye catching….love the simplicity of the blue bird. It just pops off the card. I will have to rethink this folder, now. LOVED THE CARD!!!ReplyCancel

Becca, after I posted my response, I went back to read the others and I came to this conclusion…most of the cards I look at are over done and crowded with everything under the sun. I think that is why everyone seems to be drawn to your cards!! Instead of Elements…we want Elegance and you seem to capture that.ReplyCancel

Becca, this card is awesome! So simple yet elegant. I have loved embossing since I was a little girl and I, too, love my Cuttlebug. But so many examples I’ve seen are overdone and busy that I’ve backed away from mine a bit. Thanks for the beautiful use of it. Love your 7/24 card, too! I had not thought of using watercolor paper in the bug.ReplyCancel

Quick and simple yet so effective.

Love this type of card for difficult circumstances.
Sometimes you want to convey a lot in a sentiment
like this and you don’t want too much busyness in
the card to detract from it.

Must add this folder to my list.ReplyCancel
