. . . and I’m scared to death!  Yep, that’s right.  Well, remember in the beginning of the year when I adopted the word ‘brave’ for my hopes and plans this year, well – this is brave.  Before I get to Day of Giving Friday, I want to share the dates and times I’ll be presenting on Create and Craft TV.  So yes, I’ll be in the UK demonstrating my new dies along with a trusty companion and long time Spellbinders Ambassador – Christine Emberson.  Together we will show you two styles of working with my new collection and a unique way to polish it all off.  Let’s celebrate with a wee giveaway on my blog on Monday, okay?

In the mean time, favorite peeps, today is Day of Giving Friday and I whipped up a little card to giveaway to one of my lovely readers.  Simply leave a comment and I’ll randomly pick a name.  Today I’m showing a ‘friend’ card inspired by this lovely sentiment that I grabbed off of Ebay.  Yes, I could recognize the style of stamps as PSX that is no longer in business but was years before their time in classic, professional, romantic stamps.  I have quite the collection and I’m tickled to add this one.  I thought it would fit famously with Spellbinders Labels 54 Decorative Elements and I layered it onto a hinged filigree card base made using Spellbinders A2 Divine Eloquence.

  • Anne(UK)November 18, 2016 - 11:33 am

Oooh! So excited for you and sending prayers and hugs. Have a safe trip and try to sleep on the plane if you suffer from jet lag as we are several hours behind and you will be landing early in the morning – unless you are on a day flight to the UK. But you will ace the shows! Your presentation style is soooo good!
Golly – best trip…. My favourite was probably driving through Switzerland on the way to Venice – mountains, waterfalls, trees and cabins. We stayed overnight in a hotel on the shores of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva) and our room had 3 balconies with huge windows. We arrived in late May in the early evening, opened all the windows and suddenly there were Church bells ringing across the lake and an eagle hung in the air over the water. A truly magical moment.
    Hugs

so the best trip I ever took was the year long honeymoon with my dh in korea while he was stationed there. I was on my own because it was a remote assignment for him. I went and found a job and he was moved 3 times and I met many wonderful people and 1 hour film developing had just become popular and while on a side trip I found a place that did it and it was the talk of our tour. I met a family that I ended up living with for about 5 months and traveled for about 2 months to a different place every weekend. I learned how to write the name of the town I lived in and could order wontons and coke to be delivered. wonderful memories. I took so many pictures. the young girl about 13 use to laugh when she would see what I took pictures of. they were everyday things to her but very different to me. the mother of the family could speak little englsh and I spoke even less Korean. the girl was amazed that her mother and I communicated so well. she would laugh and say we could communicate in three words more than she could with a whole paragraph.

gorgeous card today and thanks for making me rethink of that great time 35 years ago.ReplyCancel

  • Joanne LoweNovember 18, 2016 - 12:02 pm

Oh, Becca, what WONDERFUL news!!! You were one of my very first blog finds many years ago, and was I blessed or what to find YOU!!! When you have successes like these, I feel SO excited for you because I feel like I’ve been along for some of your path…

I believe there’s NO ONE BETTER QUALIFIED to be appearing on Create and Craft, no one!!! Your beautiful style is a perfect fit for what I see as the British style, and those in Britain and beyond are going to LOVE YOU and will LOVE what you create and what you bring to them to buy!

Becca, this is God’s path for you, He chose for you to go there, and He will not let you down now. This is simply another turn in your path for something GREAT! He would never ask you to do anything that you and He could not accomplish together, and we KNOW that He can do anything! I understand your hesitation, but God will give you the words to say, and you will prepare as much as you can, and the rest will be left to Him to help you. I’m thrilled that Spellbinders has chosen you, you are a PERFECT FIT!!! I have lived in Britain–for a year while doing a graduate school course, then went back to the US to graduate school there, I loved my time in the UK! It seems they make HUGE cards over there, your cards will work well in whatever size you make. I love them, and am always amazed and intrigued by your ingenuity, your wonderful artistry, and your fantastic sense of style. You’ve got this, my friend!!! I cannot wait to watch you on Create and Craft!!! Just remember you have all of the words inside you that you will need!!! Nothing will be perfect on live TV, things happen and you will just go with the flow and you will do what you do best–create, and your love of what you do will be infectious–think of the wonder of introducing papercrafting and using a die-cutting and embossing machine to people who perhaps have never made a card. How neat is that!!!

I’ll be praying for you. I can’t even express how excited and thrilled I am for you, and I have COMPLETE CONFIDENCE that you have this, you and God are a team that can do anything!!!

Sorry for this long note! Sending prayers and hugs,

    XX JoanneReplyCancel

My favorite trip of all time was the one my husband and I took for our 15th anniv. We went to a B&B in the Ohio Amish country. Life had been hectic and it was nice to get away just the two of us. It was a beautiful, snowy week (Our anniv. is 12/28) and our B&B was tucked away in a pine grove. Very romantic, peaceful, and restful. That was almost 17 years ago. We need to go again! Beautiful card! Your new adventure sounds exciting. You’ll do GREAT!!ReplyCancel

  • DaleNovember 18, 2016 - 12:24 pm

Hi Becca….I’m so excited you’ll be on tv next week. No sure I can get the Create and Craft channel :( But very happy for you. This card is so elegant and beautiful. I am always taken by your soft creations in creme and gold….there’s just something about that combination. My favorite trip is always to Vegas. I love Vegas. Haven’t been in a few years now, but I would go by myself several times a year and loved it. Planning a trip there for next year….no problem with going solo. I really do have the best time with me, myself and I. Good luck Becca and can’t wait to see and get your new line of dies.ReplyCancel

Can´t wait to see you on TV next week Becca, and don´t worry, it´ll go just fine, so please no worries, you can do anything with your great talent, I´m sure.ReplyCancel

What exciting news Becca and the opportunity is just what you deserve after all your hard work. You are so talented and lovely but I will admit that I am jealous that you will be in the UK before you are here in the USA.
My favorite trip was a surprise trip to North Carolina to visit my little sister. There was no reason for it and no special occasion so we had all the time in the world to visit and enjoy each other. I simply had her daughter handle all the little details there and set the surprise up. Fun times…..ReplyCancel

Congrats Becca, so exciting. Wish you were coming down here to New Zealand.:) the best trip I ever took was when I came to America in 2007. I was in my 50’s and it was my first ever trip out of New Zealand. I stayed with cousins at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Your thunderstorms were really scary. • Sandy ArtmanNovember 18, 2016 - 2:46 pm

    Hi, Becca,
I am so happy and excited for you. A talent like yours deserves as wide an audience as possible!!! Thank you for providing your schedule. Since I am not familiar with C&C TV, this will allow me to target my viewing. (Can’t wait to see your new dies.)
I am not much of a traveler, but a couple years ago my community chorus was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. I invited my twin sister (MD) to meet me (CA) in New York. We have a ‘ginormous’ family and we are usually surrounded by others when we’re together. But, for this trip I got to have her all to myself for a week. What a precious time. Certainly, singing in Carnegie Hall was pretty special but sharing it with my sister was the icing on the cake!
No need for fear, Becca, (easy for me to say!)-just be yourself. Your warmth and enthusiasm will prevail and I am sure you will forget all about being self conscious as you focus on your passion. All that love & creative energy will start bubbling out!
    Love & blessings,
    SandyReplyCancel

Best trip I ever took was to Malta. We took the children in 2011 to see where their grandparents & ancestors are from. They loved it! Learnt a lot of history & met many distant cousins.
I will be praying for you! Remeber you are braver than you think!

I have lots of PSX stamps, too. Some of them are quite coveted on eBay.
Fantastic that you are literally going international!
My most memorable trip was in 2006 to Europe. Hubby, myself and 3 German friends took an Alps tour that was once-in-a-lifetime. We went to the top of the Little Matterhorn from Zermatt and got stuck there. Had to be rescued via Air Zermatt Rescue helicopter, dangling 90′ below it, over a glacier. It’s been 10 years since that day but it’s like it was yesterday. We still talk about it and how we should have done a 10-year ‘reunion’ of that trip this past summer.ReplyCancel

Hello Becca, what wonderful, exciting news you bring to us! I’m so looking forward to seeing you and Christine on Create and Craft, I’m sure you’ll be a great success and I’m longing to see the fruits of all your hard work. My best trip ever was the first I ever made with my late husband – it was to Skipton in North Yorkshire (not very far away, we later travelled all over the world together!) but it was SO special. Good luck and God bless your new venture Becca, you are in my prayers. Big hugs xxReplyCancel

Best Trip. That is easy. My husband and I went to Alaska in 1999. 7 days on a Holland American cruise and 11 days on a land trip throughout Alaska to Denali and into the Yukon. Beautiful country and super nice people made a lifetime dream vacation come true.ReplyCancel

My most wonderful trip was to Alaska. My husband, our 11 year old grandson and I flew to Alaska, rented an RV and traveled over the state from Fairhope to Homer Spit. We went Salmon fishing, halibut fishing, rode in a dog sled, panned for gold, went to all kinds of museums, spent the day in Denali, went to the North Pole, went to a reindeer farm, went to a musk ox farm, saw all kinds of native wildlife, including a just born moose, and had an “awesome trip” as my grandson would tell you. We want to go back and take a cruise on the inside passage and see the remainder of Alaska.ReplyCancel

I’m almost ashamed to admit it, but the best trip I’ve ever taken was when our daughter got married. We live in Iowa and our daughter was getting married in Georgia. The three of us drove to Georgia (that was a trip in itself!) and stayed at her small apt. Then can you believe after the wedding we all came back to the apt and spent their honeymoon with them!! We took a trip through the Smokey Mountains, seeing some gorgeous scenery. Made many stops along the way to sample the local foods, too. Explored a cave and underground lake, visited so many interesting sights! I really liked Georgia and was sad when they moved to Florida. Now we visit her there every chance we get.ReplyCancel

You’ll do WONDERFULLY on TV, Becca!!! ;) I’ll have to mark my calendar! Your card is BEAUTIFUL!!! SUCH a WONDERFUL sentiment too!!! AND as for your question…… Hm, I don’t travel too much, & am more of a home body. But, I’d have to say that my best trip was when we would go to Roscoe Village in Ohio. It’s a Canal Town & historic. It used to be our favorite place to visit when we were in Ohio! ;)It was SO MUCH FUN to just stroll the old street of stores, especially when they had their Apple Butter Stir’n Festival! LOTS of vender’s come in & show you how things were done back in time period of Roscoe Village—Early 1800’s! Not to mention all their wares! ;)ReplyCancel

I don’t go away as my hubby works for himself and never takes time off work (unless the workplace is closed), but periodically on a Saturday we have a drive to Lytham St Annes, we park the car in St Annes and walk to Lytham (takes an hour each way) we then have Fish and Chips in the ‘best’ fish and chip restaurant which was recommended by Gordon Ramsay and also Rick Stein, and it definitely is ‘the Best’, after having this we then walk back to St Annes to pick up the car. The air is fabulous as we walk all the way alongside the sea front. I love it !!

My most memorable trip was to Tecate, Mexico, several years ago. I was a chaperone for a mission trip for my church’s Youth Group. Dearest Becca,
Oh what wonderful news, well for us across that pond here in the UK to have you coming to our screens. Such a very talented lady that i know my friends are going to be as excited as i am when i tell them you are coming across. I will go and make sure my record buttons are working the now and get all your shows programmed in so that i don’t miss a single one. I love to see you when you put up a video of a make, apart from being so very clever you have such a beautiful voice that is quite hypnotic. I sincerely hope that you have a ball while you are across and you get to see the beautiful side of people and our beautiful country although to get the hills, you would need to come up to my beautiful Scotland. Have a wonderful time Becca and thank you so much for making my day flower.
The last holiday that i got to spend with my lovely Mum who is now up with the angels. We went across to Orlando and we had the best time ever. Mum wanted to be away for my daddy’s 1st anniversary and so took myself and her two grandchildren to Disney. Although she ended up in hospital while on holiday we still had the best time that we all remembered afterwards. I have always wanted to meet the real Mickey Mouse and my dream came true by finally getting to go at the age of 42. I know that he isn’t real and that it is someone dressed up but i just so wanted to see him in the flesh sort to speak. I waited in this line up of all these wee kiddies and one adult just to get to shake his hand and get a cuddle from him. My daughter who was 16 at the time was goign through that “oh Mother, grow up won’t you” stage. I had booked for my Mum, daughter and son to go swimming with the dolpins as i had heard that it was really good for autistic children of which my son is one. Truly from start to finish it was a fantastic experience and when Mum landed in the hospital, the Disney people were so kind, caring and helpful. They put on transport to take me back and forward to the hospital to see mum and while i was there, they looked after my children, making sure they were entertained and fed with no thoughts of needing reembursed. Nothing was too much trouble for them so as i say for although the end of the holiday was a nightmare with mum landing in the hospital, even she said that she had had the best holiday ever. If you get even a part of the welcome and friendliness that we received in your country i will be well pleased. Have a safe journey across flower, but most of all have fun,
    love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil Village, Clacks, Scotland)ReplyCancel

Congrats on the new adventure! You’ll do great and the Brits will love you as much as we do! Best vacation: In 2011 and 2012 I met up with my husband in Pula, Italy which is on the island of Sardania. He was working in Afghanistan for two years as a senior mentor to an Afghani general and that was our halfway point. The second time we went, we took my daughters and son-in-law with us for the first 8 days of the trip. They loved it and talk about going back. It’s a trip I’ll never forget.ReplyCancel

The best trip I ever took was my trip to Italy. After discovering that I had breast cancer and went for my treatments, I thought I wasn’t going to depart for Italy because of my treatments. Then I was fortunate enough to have been bumped into the night clinic for my treatments and I finished them just in time so that I could venture off to Italy with my family and visit my husbands relatives for the very first time after so many years. I was truly blessed to be able to go. I thank God everyday for giving me a second chance in life. God bless.

Oh goodness! You’re headed my way! Safe travels and you might find it just a tad colder than you’re currently experiencing. In the south it is 50 this evening, but if you’re travelling up from Heathrow or Gatwick, it generally gets colder, the further north you go.

I didn’t recognize the continents. iwas thinking austrailia or new Zealand. luckily I read a comment that mentioned the uk. so I go back and look and all is right in my world. hope you get a chuckle and I look forward to your release and news. super exciting.ReplyCancel

Well, hey sweet friends!  I’ve been one busy girl and I’ve been keeping a teensy little surprise under my hat.  I have a crazy wonderful announcement coming up and I’ll be back to share a little bit about it in the coming days.   In the meantime, today is Day of Giving Friday which means that one of you readers who leaves a comment, gets to win this card.    My card today is a thank you card using with my favorite Thanks from Quietfire Design and my favorite to make flowers using Spellbinders Contour Layered Blooms – you can see a no fail way to make the flowers HERE.

This is a relatively simple card.  I started out with a 5 x 7 card based and layered in some gold mats.  For the background I’m using a digital paper from a sweet friend Iralajima who sells on Etsy.  Overtop I layered Spellbinders Vertical Chain and then placed this lace motif from my stash and it seemed like the perfect place :-)  I made three flowers using my Spoon Flower Technique, and varied the size, one medium, one small and one tiny.  Last but not least I pulled the banner from Spellbinders Decorative Swallowtail Tags to stamp my sentiment.

If I was my younger self I would realize that everything my mother told me about my boyfriends and my girlfriends was true. In my early married years I would have kept a journal of what I did each day like cut the grass, paint the house, dig the gardens and things like that because my husband tells me he always did it!

My goodness – how can I wait on your wonderful news to come. I want to hear it now. Becca, you are such a tease! Your card today is lovely. I especially like the background paper you printed. Reminds me of a blouse I made myself in Jr High. I loved that blouse, so sweet. I still have not made your spoon flowers even though I did get me a set of round bowl measuring spoons to do so. Very nice combination with the gold mirror card and the lace leaves, too. Now to your question: the piece of advice I would give my younger self, would be not to worry so much, do less homework and enjoy more of the day to day life that happens in school. Dear Younger Self,
Breathe. The world keeps turning, and the things you need to heal from, you will. You are stronger than you know, and fear doesn’t need to rule your choices. People are better than you’ve experienced, and you will be healthy, I promise.

    Love,

    Hi Becca,
When this came in, there was only one response but my hubbie had to use the computer, so I am a little late. This is one beautiful card and never imagined how this die could be used in this way! Love the flowers! Am very anxious to hear your good news.
My advice to my younger self – Do everything the exact same I did as my life has turned out very well. One thing I would change is to less shy in my younger life. It took me a while to come out of my shell, so be more outgoing.
    Hugs,
    Mstgane

Beautiful card Becca. Love your “spoon flowers”. Mine never turn out as pretty as yours. So excited to hear your good news. I am so thankful to have found your blog, and find your work a blessing. My advice to my younger self: Work fewer hours at work, enjoy each day more, worry less, don’t worry about how clean the house is, and play more. Enjoy each age.ReplyCancel

A lovely card, as always even though your cards are always uniquely different. The flowers are beautiful and even though I’ve seen the video, I’m going to watch it again. There’s always something new to learn that will help me be a better crafter.

I would tell my younger self to pray more, not to sweat the small things and always be thankful.

Have a wonderful weekend Becca! Looking forward to your surprise announcement.ReplyCancel

Love that Becca style! This card is lovely; from the delicate pattern on the paper; to the die cut, pearls, flowers, and lace. You’ve got the most beautiful stash of laces. What’s your source? In my opinion, your creative eye is unmatched. Love it! So happy for you and your coming news. I know it has to be a mega from your excitement about it. Now I’m excited, too! My advice to the younger me would be to be brave, use your talents more, and hone your skills. Be the best you possible.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, This card is stunning, and I love the flowers.
Advice to my younger self would be to make the ‘most’ of the short time I had with my two Sons, also to make the ‘most’ of the time I had with my Mum and Dad, and to ask them questions that only they could answer for me, oh how I wish that I could go back in time !!

Thank you for your talents Becca, and that you use them as a blessing to others. I would tell my younger self to think more when making decisions and choices, to recognise when fear is the predominant factor. It’s a shame to wish you had done this or that but didnt because you were afraid of making mistakesReplyCancel
