Good morning crafty friends!  It has been a productive week for me and I am walking more than ever.  This week I got caught up on all my mailings for Day of Giving Friday.  I have six cards here that are boxed and ready to go, just waiting for the winner to claim them.  Please check the name list found at this link –>Giveaway Winners<– and scroll down, there are cards that have not been claimed since March of this year and I’d love to send them out.  Today I’m sharing a new card that is up for grabs in our giveaway today.

For my card I started with a lovely embossed background using Spellbinders Overlapping Circles.  I framed the card using Spellbinders Pierced Rectangles and planted a decorative border at the top using Spellbinders Deco Duality.  The sentiment was stamped on layered Spellbinders Standard Circles Small and then trimmed to fit along the bottom.

My favorite part of the card is the flowers; I used Spellbinders Stack and Fan Flowers.  For these flowers, the eight petals are connected together using a brad on one end then – I spritzed them and scrunched them to give them a different look connected the holes on the other end of each petal to form the loop.  The petite spiral flowers are made using one of the petals, then I used the same die, the petals for the Stack and Fan Flowers, to make the swag along the bottom of the card.  My goodness, that was one of those things that once done, a zillion ideas popped into my head about making these swags!  I added greenery to the flowers using Spellbinders Floral Berry Accents.

Your card is beautiful Becca – as always. Your gift is such an inspiration to all who have the privilege of seeing it – whether in person or on line!
My dream – and prayer right now is for my husband to peacefully go on to Heaven where I will one day meet him. I know this decision is in the Lord’s good timing and the days are short before this happens. Praying this is the way he will go.

  • LoisSeptember 23, 2016 - 12:24 pm

I have not made a card using a “frame” Your’s is so nicely made. My words of hope are from my confirmation verse (59 year’s ago) which is Matt 28:20 – Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the ages. In the KJV it is even unto the end of the world. I went to Africa to do nursing a few years after this, and remembered that verse because I thought I was at the end of the world. But it is the hope I have that Jesus is always with me.
Glad to hear you are walking more. Have a blessed weekend.ReplyCancel

I read your listing in my email and have for years. I rarely comment because my life is so so very busy and I barely have time for reading and enjoying your beautiful cards but I thought I would send a little note today to tell you how once again your ideas on card making are so very remarkable. I can’t imagine how you keep coming up with so many beautiful ideas. Also wanted to tell you I pray for you and for your family and feel like I almost know you all. Your story about lightning brought back memories to me about our own lightning adventures. I am so glad you are on the mend now and I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I have never won a card from you but my goodness how exciting that would be to have a “BECCA” original. May God continue to bless you all ….. DeniceReplyCancel

Wow, Becca, when I opened your blog, this card took my breath away. It’s absolutely stunning! What words of hope can I share today? – well some people say time heals but I say time will help you cope better with a loss which you can never forget. Time gives you the opportunity to move on, while still remembering all the love you shared.

What a lovely card. I love the sentiment as I am in the process of setting my website and online store up after Dreaming about it since 2004.

So my words of hope are these– Never let go of your God-given dreams ( These are the ones that just never go away no matter how many times you have given them up.) Remain Flexible about how they are accomplished though as God does not always do things according to our own whims and desires. Remember that God is your strength and that your weaknesses just may be a strong testimony to someone else.ReplyCancel

Wowie, wowie, wowie!!! Becca, that is gorgeous. It is glamourous
sophisticated and at the same time so little girl feminine.
Love it! Hope for me is just being patient. A good nights sleep always helps to put things in perspective. Tragedy, loss and heartbreak are hard to wake up to each morning. Life seems to throw us curves all of the time. I am a prayerful person. I love to hug someone who is hurting. If God is part of your life then there is always HOPE. HE seems to bend the burden to the back so that the burden can be carried. If HE takes you to it, HE will get you through it. When I was at my lowest point, I was told by my Doctor to go help someone else. I was upset at first, but then I decided to join the Community 24 Hour Help Line as a Listener. Six years later I truly knew what HOPE was. It is Helping Others Persevere, Endlessly!ReplyCancel

Oh, Becca, I LOVE it when I’m looking and looking at an ingenious element of one of your cards (which I find to my delight OFTEN :) ), thinking “what IS that, and how did she do it” about that bottom swag layer, and how COOL was that!!! I own many of your dies and stamps, they are just to my taste and your sentiments address so many that I wanted, and we share the same spiritual heritage too. :) So I was THRILLED to realize that I own that flower set and I can try that. THANK YOU!!!

I am always fascinated by the flowers you create, I love flowers myself and wish I was a much better colorist for one… :) I love creating my own take on flowers too, it pleases me to no end to create something on my own I haven’t seen before. And of course sometimes all I create is a muddy mess, but other times–the joy of creating something really pretty and different is wonderful! Wishing I had the ability (physical) to do that more and to create cards more. Hopefully when my craft room is totally reorganized, I’ll be able to spend a lot more time in there, can’t wait!

Yours was I believe the first blog that I HAD to subscribe to and was so excited when I’d receive your blog updates, and I still feel that way today about your cards and whatever you have created–your kits (bought all of them), your stamp sets, and your dies (of which I have many), your bow maker (have)–I’m so grateful for all of your success, and pray that God will bring to you many many more blessings to a woman who has so much talent and you share your creations and your innovations with us so freely. Let me say how grateful I am!!!ReplyCancel

Once again, Becca…simply gorgeous! Here’s some inspiration I shared with friends today:

Think about this today, if only for a moment: It is nothing short of a miracle that you exist, that you were born, that you survived, and grew, that you can think, that you can love. Stop hating and start helping. Stop taking and start giving. Stop passing by the fallen and help them to stand. Live to your full potential.ReplyCancel

How sweet! Who’d’ve thought the swag was from a flower leaf! Genius!
My favorite words of hope: sometimes we feel like the Psalmist: “I am solitary & afflicted. Distresses of my heart have multiplied.” (PS. 25: 16, 17) When we turn to God in prayer, he replies: “DO not be afraid, for I am with you… I will fortify you. I will really help you…” (Is. 41:10, 13)ReplyCancel

Card making ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Acanthus Leaf and Spellbinders Baby Buntings - full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning friends, popping in quickly to share a card I’ve had on my desk for some while. I picked up this lovely Spellbinders Renaissance Acanthus Leaf Background and I played one afternoon. It almost seems like adult coloring rendered from a die. For my first playing I simply embossed it and colored it in with color pencils, on other scraps I watercolored it. In the end I pulled out my trusty gold and decided to layer it onto a muted background with a piece of vellum from my stash. Lately I’ve been jonesing over vellum so that’s where my experimentation landed.

Background dies make the simple cards that look like you fussed and seem to be my ‘goto’ style when I’m not sure what I want to make.  As I dug through my stash of patterned vellum (which seem hard to find these days).  I thought the muted tones behind almost make it seem like you are looking through an elegant gate or perhaps stained glass.  I took an additional piece of white vellum cut with Spellbinders Baby Buntings  and stamped a sentiment to hover over top of a bow and mulberry flowers.

Soooo glad I dropped by to see this fabulous creation! Wonderful.
The temperature has dropped some 10 degrees celsius here, so a bit of a shock to the system after the mini heatwave last week! I love all the seasons, but autumn leaves turning can be quite stunning. My mother’s gift to me of a small tulip tree, was planted some years ago. It is now a sizeable specimen and the leaves are large and turning coppery gold – beautiful!

Card making ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Elegant Labels Four and Spellbinders Curved Borders Two - full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com
Sweet friends, happy Friday.   I wanted to pop in with my giveaway for Day of Giving Friday – this is the card up for grabs today.  The sentiment, although retired, is a sweet one about true friends.  It simply made me smile and know that there are such good people all around.  I’ve been so blessed by my blog and the friends that come to share.  Also, since I put down roots in Florida after being a military brat all my life, it’s good to have those friend anchors to run to for a shoulder or an ear.

Card making ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Elegant Labels Four and Spellbinders Curved Borders Two - full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com
The 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ card is simple (don’t I always say that, lol) and is built upon Spellbinders Elegant Labels Four.  On top of that I framed the card with a retired die that I designed called Heirloom Flourish One.  The bottom is finished with Spellbinders Curved Borders Two.    It looks intricate because I layered gold behind the border cut out for a little bit of gleam!

About Day of Giving Friday
For new readers, every Friday it’s my pleasure to give away a card.   The card goes to a randomly picked reader (worldwide) who leaves a comment in our conversation. Want to know more about Day of Giving, here’s a link to my FAQ’s just check out #11.  You can check to see if your name is on the list of winners HERE.  For your comment:  How blessed have you been to have a true friend?

I have been very blessed to have some really great friends through my life, and I have even more, that I´ve had almost my entire life, and they really are gold to me, as we´re always here for each other, no matter how long it´s been since last time, and that is priceless, that´s for sure.ReplyCancel

While I have many friends, my bestest friends are my 3 sisters! We had 9 of us kids and only the four of us are left. Thankfully, three of them live in the same town and I am only 15 miles away. We’ve been through so much together and have leaned on each other for support. I don’t know what I’d do without my sisters – love and appreciate them all so much. Your card today is beautiful. Having a true friend has always helped me to be a better person. I was told by my Grandmother that, if at the end of your live you can count your true friends on one hand, you are blessed. These are they ones who do not judge you but give great advise, Even if you do not see them for years, it feels like seconds once you get back together again.

I love your sweet and beautiful card! Such a perfect sentiment for a true friend! I have been so very blessed by true friendship! My sister, that is about 5 years younger, is someone that I also call my very best friend! We just “get” each other and have so much fun when we are together! I’m so thankful for another very best friend that I’ve known for about 12 years (our daughters played on the same high school volleyball team). We have laughed, cried, supported each other through it all. She’s also been my workout buddy and I’m so sad that she moved last week just over an hour away. I’m going to miss seeing her almost every day at the gym, but I know that our friendship won’t change one bit!ReplyCancel

I have a couple of really good friends and know that if I ever need anything, either of them will help and they have. It’s great to see all the stories here about having friends. It’s been said ‘friends are the family you give yourself’ and I think that’s so true. Friends give us a feeling of acceptance and that we aren’t alone in the world. Life would be pretty sad without friends..ReplyCancel

Becca: I would love to win one of your beautiful cards. You are such an inspiration. I am blessed to have many true friends. When I was in FL, I frequented a local stamp store for the demos. There I met about 14 stamping friends. When I am in FL, we meet for lunch every Wednesday, and we share cards for every occasion. I also am blessed to have many true christian friends in FL and MI were I live. Friends are a wonderful part of my life. God has blessed me with many true friends.ReplyCancel

    Beautiful card, Becca,
I have been very blessed to have a true friend. The quality that I valued so highly in this friendship was honesty. She told me the truth, even if it was painful to hear. A person has to love you unconditionally in order to do that and remain your friend. She’s in the heavenly realm now but when the going gets tough, I still talk to my “Special Buddy”.
    Love & blessings, SandyReplyCancel

Becca, this is the sweetest card yet. It reminds me of a little girl’s room. Perhaps you should consider bringing your Die back. It is really beautiful! I’m sad to say that I have never had a really, really close friend. I have trust issues because of my upbringing. I think because of your warm welcoming to all of us, I have found a distant friend in you. You are so encouraging and your creations stimulate that creativity deep down inside. Thank you for the sweet touches on your cards and your sweet words every Friday. I look forward to your posts each weeks. Hugs,
    SaraReplyCancel

Such an elegant card…love the gleam of gold in the background. Lovely sentiment, but oh, so lofty! Something to reach for, surely never attained!

True friends are a blessings…and so are the ones who come and go – who fill that spot for a time and wander on to another place and other persons. Thanks for the inspiration again this week, Ms. Becca!

Having friends is always good to have. My best friend is my husband and my close friend happens to live in another country. You know how folks say friends are the family you make? Well, my made family is very small.

Your card is inspirational. I wished i have the patience to make something as elegant as yours. But when one has children, timing can be tough.ReplyCancel

Love your Card Becca Very elegant
The verse fits my friend to a T! We have been friends now for 20 plus years We use to live in the same city but then we shifted but every Thursday during her lunch hour, she rushes home to have her lunch while we talk on Skype! We have been there for each other through thick and thin and can tell each other anything. We are blessed that our friendship has lasted all this time.ReplyCancel

Aloha, Becca, I’m an Army brat. It’s hard not growing up with the same kids, being a “new kid” so often, not being able to answer “Where are you from?” questions, and much more. But we do learn how to be adaptable a bit easier from all the constant new everything, and trying to absorb/fit in as soon as possible. Each one of your creations is frame-able precious art. Thank you for giving. Your cards are priceless ?ReplyCancel

Hi Becca. A gorgeous card with a beautful sentiment. Very thought provoking.
What a pity your lovely die is discontinued as it looks stunning on your card.
Over many many years I’ve had many ‘best friends’ who never judge me but I think now I could say my best friend is my daughter in law who is always there for me, is thoughtful for me and supports me.
    Take care Betty xxReplyCancel

Hi Becca. Stunning card. Love how you’ve framed the sentiment with your retired die. Must try that! True friends are worth their weight in gold they say. How true I think or maybe true friendship is priceless? Another adage, a friend in need is a friend indeed. I am lucky to have a couple of true friends who know me better than I know myself sometimes it seems! Happy weekend and happy crafty week!ReplyCancel

  • Barbara TranquillaSeptember 17, 2016 - 6:34 am

Hi Becca, You never lose your magic touch by mixing the unexpected die combos. This time you superimposed some over another. Just lovely and I so appreciate you using the ‘oldies but goodies’ from your die collection. I have just about all dies you have designed and look forward to the new combinations you create. Keep them coming, friend. One part of being a good friend is consistency and you have that–not your unbelievable talent but your willingness to share. This can also be call generosity. You have it, I appreciate it, cyber friend. BarbaraReplyCancel
