Good morning sweet friends!  It’s truly a lovely day where I am and I hope yours is too.  I have a card to share today that is oh so, feminine and the sentiment hits the nail on the head.  Me and my temporarily one legged self is feeling so imperfect, but to sit down and make a card made me feel so good.  These dies are absolutely glorious – I’m using Spellbinders Floral Embossing Folder for an embossed background – I simply ran a white chalk ink stamp pad across to bring the embossing out.  After that I stacked up two sizes of Spellbinders Labels Fifty Two.  That’s a new shape I added to my stash and while the jury was out for a short time on the shape, I’m happy to say I’m all in with this pointed oval, rounded triangle, marquis shape.  On top of that I added Spellbinders Renaissance Tag One which ends up to be a perfect ‘behind’ layer for Spellbinders Silhouette.

I pulled the card wide pennant from Spellbinders Decorative Swallowtail Pennants for that lovely, but true sentiment from Unity Stamps.  We’re all flawed and imperfect, delightfully so; but it makes us all real.

No instructions today because this is simple stacking.  In other words from the bottom up,  5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ base then embossing then Labels Fifty Two then Renaissance Tag One then the Silhouette and lastly add Decorative Swallowtail Pennants. In my book that equals easy card!

Oh my, such a soft and lovely card today. The new shape of the “Spellbinders Labels Fifty Two” is a perfect marriage to the “Spellbinders Silhouette” die cut. The pearls you added to the lady’s hair is a sweet touch to the design. It will not be long before you are back to walking with two good feet. I am sure the time recuperating has been long and oh, so different for you to be dependent on someone else, but you will come out of this better than you were before you surgery. You can do this!ReplyCancel

Papercrafting Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Keeping Tabs Steel Rule Die, Spellbinders Fairmont Labels - full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.comHi there friends, I just wanted to show you something instant I did, that made me smile. I swap a few items among some local and some far away friends and don’t always look to create from scratch when I’m preparing the gift. I’ve found that if I can put it together and get it out the door into the mail, it makes them just as happy as if I had toiled over it for weeks.

I’m sharing buttons and lace and was looking for something with a little theme to kick things into high gear. At Tuesday Morning I found packages of printed folders that are made from a delicious weight cardstock that is delightfully double-sided, so I cut boxes from them. There are 12 file folders in the package from Punch Studios and these used feature writing, typewriters, typewriter keys, post cards and other vintage ephemera. Eek, I have an Eiffel Tower set of folders too so I’m studying what I might make with them.

From one folder I cut two of the fold over boxes – Spellbinders Keeping Tabs Steel Rule Die. I simply added a bow to the top of the box. There was enough remaining scraps to fold over two panels to make enclosures cards and even cut out an element or two for embellishment. The frames are made using Spellbinders Fairmont Labels filled with vellum. I typed on the vellum with my trusty portable typewriter and distressed it all a bit so that it would match.

Below are both of the enclosure cards that are about 3-1/2″ square.

The two boxes go together without tape or glue, they are self locking so I simply adhered bows to the top.  They are 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ x 3″ tall.

To figure out how I wanted to position each box to get the motifs to fall where I wanted, I cut one box from plain cardstock and overlayed to get the rough position.

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design - Just for You Set with Spellbinders Deco Duality , Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles, Spellbinders Cinch and Go Flowers - see full supplies and instructions at www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi sweet friends, another card to share today with a little bit of a vintage shabby feel.  It was one of those cards that when I thought I was done, I wasn’t done and my mom kept saying – ‘Needs something else’.  Who would have thought she’d sit and craft along with me, but she has to fetch absolutely everything I need.  I can hardly remember where things are so it’s a hoot with me describing its last known location.  Since she’s a crafter but not a papercrafter, I suppose sending her to hunt is just like when my Dad would send me to his tool shed for a specific wrench.  Didn’t he know, all wrenches are the same?  Today I picked a lovely border to work with – Spellbinders Deco Duality.  This is an easy card that’s easily replicated.

Walk Through on How to Make Card

Base

The card base is 5-1/2 x 7-1/2.

Focal Panel

I selected Spellbinders Deco Duality to frame the sides of my card and used the other side of the die template (peeking out from underneath my layer)  as a fabulous border.  The borders were all stenciled through the die template just to add some visual interest.     I used a delicate sentiment from Quietfire DesignsJust for You Set and stamped it on Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles.

Embellishment

The flowers are made using Spellbinders Cinch and Go Flowers – you can see a tutorial for these quick and easy flowers HERE.  The final touch is bow made with the 2.5″ tulle you can buy on rolls at the fabric store.  I created a small cluster of flowers using the three smallest petals from the set for each flower.

I’m grateful for the wonderful weather we are having at the moment which means my granddaughter and I can go out and about in my open top car.

    Hi Becca,
I have such a charming picture of you and your Mama crafting together!! You make me laugh and delight in the wonderful love between Moms and daughters.
You and your Mama created a beautiful card here. I love the romantic tone of it.
What am I grateful for today….I’m going to skip the obvious (my salvation, my family, my health, etc.,) and say today I am grateful for play time! I have the weekend off and no responsibilities, so I am going to indulge in play!ReplyCancel

You have yet again produced another beautiful card! I adore the tulle bow and actually have some tulle put away somewhere. You have inspired me to find it and get creating! Today there are so many things to be thankful for and I’m not sure I can limit it to just one thing. Thankful and very grateful we have a new air conditioner, also the freedom to come and go, the health of my family, and sone new crafting supplies from a couple of different companies to enjoy! Hope you have lots to be grateful for too! Special thanks to your mom for taking care of you and running around your craft room to get supplies for you so you can share cards with us!ReplyCancel

    Hi, Becca,
Gorgeous card!!! It’s comical to imagine describing to another person where to find things in my craft room – on the other hand, sounds like a very good organizing strategy!

It looks like there are pearls strung on tulle – are they? If so, how do you do it?

My twin sister was here with her husband last week and left for home on Tuesday. It was a lovely week and I have been basking in sweet memories. I am sooooooo grateful for good health that enables us to travel and these precious times together, that become ever more precious with each passing year.
    Love and friendship blessings,

Very pretty card Becca! The subtle colors are striking together. I am grateful for many things in my life. One of the many is that I am grateful to have found your site! Your cards are stunning and I have incorporated many of your designs into cards I have made. There is also a bit of a down side to that….before finding your site, I had 2 Spellbinders dies–and never used them….I now have a collection too large to count and not enough time to use them! Enjoy your time with your mother!ReplyCancel

Absolutely STUNNING! !! I adore everything about this card. The softness off the color combination, the beautiful borders, flowers and the tulle. Wow! I don’t have the Deco Dualities set but I do have the Cinch and Go flowers and Radiant Rectangles so whether I m blessed to win or not, I’m adding this new die to my collection and borrowing this fabulous card design.

I am thankful today for doctors and nurses! My husband is recovering from a specialized open heart surgery that we had to travel to Mayo in Minnesota for. The surgery went well but recovery has been a challenge my hubby. Rather than 5 days in the hospital, he spent 12 due to complications. He had collapsed lunngs, fluid around his lungs, a 7 hour episode of Atrial Fibrillation, allergic reaction to a medication and cloth tape and even a flesh eating bacteria causing a nasty rash. Now that we are finally back home in Arizona, he’s developed an inflammation around his heart called Pericarditis. In spite of all this, the doctors and nurses have been wonderful and so caring. I’m extremely thankful for each one who has been a part of his care. His Cardiologist here in Mayo in Arizona immediately got on top of figuring out the new heart pain caused by the Pericarditis. There are no guarantees when you have medical issues but we have so many people who have blessed us. I’m also extremely grateful for prayers. I’ve no doubt that prayers and great medical care have brought my husband through this surgery and before long, he will feel so much better. God is so good!ReplyCancel

It is 5 p.m. in NH and the temp outside is 94 with the muggies. It;s been a hot summer for us and very little rain. When I look at the weather for the rest of the country, I have a lot to be thankful for. Am always learning a new way to use the dies and today’s card is no exception. It is a beautiful card.

Lovely, lovely card. I’m glad your mom is still fetching things for you as you recover!

A year ago I had just had ankle surgery and was just beginning a long and painful recovery! I am so, so grateful this year I am walking without pain, and with a complete recovery following two surgeries. What a difference time, rehab, and good, skilled doctors, and a loving, supportive family and community make! So thankful for my family, medical folks, and church and friends.

And kind of missing the month-long giving/gratitude exercise from last year. It was just what I needed last year as I began that whole injury, healing thing…so grateful for you.

    Good Evening Becca,
The card for today is absolutely stunning. Whatever your Mom inspired you to add to the card must have been the crowning touch because the card is spectacular, but of course your cards usually are! You asked what I am most grateful for today: It is the life I’m living. In a world where some of my friends are out of work, other people I don’t know are going hungry and others I don’t know are living on the street. Some of my friends are battling health problems that are insurmountable. As the phrase goes, “everyone has something.” I’m grateful for my life, grateful I have great friends, grateful I can deal with my health problems, grateful I can take wonderful joy in the crafting that I share with wonderful friends–I guess I’m just grateful I’m alive. Thanks for posing the question so I could pause in the day to day busyness of life to realize just how truly grateful I am. It is good to take stock once and awhile!ReplyCancel

Oh, I want this card! Gorgeous, beautiful, lovely–what else is there to say? Love this card. The dies you have chosen, the sentiment, and colors make this card perfect.

I am grateful for the freedom to worship my God and that I live in these United States. I’m grateful for my family, for my health (being a cancer survivor I truly appreciate the health I have. Yes, the cancer has left it’s mark on my body and it’s weaker. But hey, I’m still here and I can get out of bed and able to walk, see the wonderful world, hear the beautiful music, and have my mind.) Your card is so lovely and sweet. Colors are great together. I think your card today is the first card I have viewed on several blogs over the last year and a half that I actually have all the dies used in creating the card. Yeah for me! Becca, what is your angel policy? Your Mother sounds like a dear lady to me and a great Mother to “go fetch” for you. Please thank her for me for helping you sweet one. Today, or I should say tonight, I am grateful for the Lord getting me though a tough day of pressure washing three decks, washing outside windows and the screens on those decks and the furniture there; as well as cleaning out the gutters on the front of the house. My age is showing and doing these chores are more difficult for me now. I am sore and very tired this evening and I will need a day of rest tomorrow. I am grateful that I was able to get these chores done by myself, with the grace of God, at least one more time.ReplyCancel

I have so many blessings. Good Christian friends, a Godly church and the freedom to live my life the way I choose. But my friend’s granddaughter is at Duke Hospital going through the post-procedures for a bone marrow transplant. Her big sister is a perfect match so God is good there. I know your followers, so I’m asking if they pray, to say a prayer in the coming weeks for Emily, 7 years old. If I win this card, it will be dedicated to and given to Emily as she loves to make everything. Her Caring Bridge site is Emily Ayers. If you look her up, you will see a bow in her hair. They sort of resemble Becca’s bows! Thank you for your sweet posts every week. MyraReplyCancel

This card is absolutely beautiful and the Sentiment is what I tell my hubby every night before bed and every time I see him throughout the day. I would absolutely love to be able to give this to my hubby for his birthday.

I am so grateful for all the time I got to spend just enjoying nature, a quick picnic and us taking photographs together each with our own camera after a much painful doctor’s appointment yesterday.ReplyCancel

    Miss Becca,
There is nothing better than sharing my scrabook store with my Mom. She is 87 and goes to the shop everyday. So blessed. She has a great sense of design. This card is another beautiful creation. (Mom is so organized and it is rubbing off )ReplyCancel

Another delightful card! I am grateful for the weekend we just had! My daughter and her husband flew from Arizona to Michigan for a long weekend. Her brother and his wife joined us as did my daughter’s godparents. We had a house filled with love and laughter!ReplyCancel
