Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Elegant Labels Four - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Today is Day 26 of the 30 Days of Giving and a glorious Sunday.    A short post today and I hope you are spending restful time with your families.  I was so surprised to read what else you all do feed your creative soul – for so many creativity happens in the kitchen in cooking, baking and collecting recipes.    The cooking bug escaped me, but I admire anyone who flourishes in the kitchen – and what a magnificent ethic to pass down.     Is there anything more heartening than to see the daughter of a quilter become a quilter, the daughter of an outstanding cook become a cook, the daughter of a seamstress continue the sewing tradition and so on.

For today’s comment – who got you hooked on papercrafting?

If you’re new to the blog, welcome to my 30 Days of Giving – every day during the month of July I’m giving away a handmade card – you can read all the specifics HERE.  You can check to see if you’ve won a card by searching for your name on the Giveaway Winners page.  You get there by the menu at the top of the page – put your cursor on Features then look down the list and select Giveaway Winners.

The card that’s being given away today is shown above.  Just a note – this is a card that has been shown before and there is a possibility that some of the supplies that were used are currently discontinued, no doubt there will be something you can substitute – have a look through my galleries for alternative ideas.  Many things can still be found on the open market, just google and you’ll find that many retailers are still selling.

I have to say that I got myself hooked. My husband was diagnosed with brain cancer and I needed something more to do to occupy my time while he slept/rested so I took up cardmaking in addition to jewelry making, to go along with crocheting and cross-stitching. It was just easier to leave the card for a while if he needed me. I love this beautiful card and sentiment. It is perfect for my dearest friend-describes her perfectly. She is my “other” sister.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, Love this card with the little print peeking out from behind the sentiment and the blue accent. Awesome as always.
I am a decorative painter from long ago. I use to paint wood items my husband made and we would sell at juried craft shows. It just started to take its toll lugging everything to shows all the time. My daughter was a scrapbooker and she though I might like paper craft. I tried scrapbooking but turned to card making pretty quick. Love making cards, it is a creative outlet for me. Thanks for all you inspiration.
    Blessing, LindaReplyCancel

Oh my goodness, this card is just gorgeous, I hope I will be lucky this time around, sigh!!
Well, I’ve always been crafty, love to work with my hands, I just can’t sit idle staring at the tv. I need to do something while watching.
I used to cross stitch a lot, knitting and crocheting too but, what started me on paper crafting was a hand made card I received from a friend, it was so beautiful, I still have it, she said in her hand written note that she went to a Stampin Up! party and she got hooked. She gave me the information and when I went to check it out on the web, I discovered a whole world of paper crafting, I mean loads and loads of companies with amazing rubber stamp images, dies, papers, inks…..oh Becca, it was magical. No more store bought cards for my family and friends, now I take pleasure in making a card specially for that person, with love and care and they all love them. It gives me so much joy to get a phone call or a letter telling me thank you and how much they love my cards.
This is a fabulous hobby and I’m in for life.ReplyCancel

Dearest Becca – hope you Sunday is as gorgeous as mine is in northern Ohio today! I have always been a crafter, since childhood. I would try anything I could get my hands on. I did a lot of needlepoint, quilting and sewing for a long time, but my eye sight isn’t as sharpe as it used to be, and I developed carpol tunnel in my right hand which made it difficult to hold a needle. Somehow I stumbled on stamping and it just bloomed from there!ReplyCancel

Beautiful card! I’ve been papercrafting for so long I’m not sure I remember. However I starting getting serious when I saw Lisa Bearson on QVC in 1996. It’s been an awesome journey ever since.ReplyCancel

I’ve always made my own cards, just on a simpler form. My husband’s boss sent out stamped cads one year, and I was hooked! I go to her classes once a month and have for about five years now!ReplyCancel

I loved counted cross-stitch for many years. Age and arthritis began making it hard to hold a tiny needle, so I knew I couldn’t continue for too much longer. I took a stroll through a craft section of a local store, and found scrapbooking supplies! I thought how wonderful it would be to make scrapbooks for each of my son’s for Christmas. (Thank Heavens I only have two!) It was truly a Labour of love! By the time I was finished… I was well and truly hooked!ReplyCancel

  • D.Ann CJuly 26, 2015 - 7:34 am

Another fabulous card and that sentiment… I must go get it!!

I guess I’d say it was all my friends who gave me positive feedback each time they got handmade cards that got me hooked on papercrafting.ReplyCancel

  • Carol H.July 26, 2015 - 7:37 am

I love your card with the soft blue on it–so pretty! I got my start maybe about 15 years ago when I had a friend, who had a friend that was a rep with Creative Memories. I hosted a party for her and ended up buying their big starter set. For several years I just worked on scrapbooks. I remember going to a craft fair and a booth had the brass templates, light box and stylus and I was so fascinated by the cardmaking aspect that I bought the set to make cards. When I think back about that it makes me realize how far this has brought me. Thank goodness I’m not using the light box and stylus anymore–that was so tedious to me! Lol!ReplyCancel

Friends I grew up with got me hooked on paper crafting. I had just moved my family back to our hometown, to help care for my parents. A group of friends I hadn’t seen in 25+ years invited me to a card party, and I’ve been in my craft room ever since :)ReplyCancel

I can’t say that any one person got me started with paper crafting. I just fell into it on my own. However, my mother was the creative one in my family. She would get interested in something & throw her whole self into it. I think I got that from her.I threw myself into papercrafting.
Beautiful card. I love how you layered the very different diecuts.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
Long ago my hubby introduced me to a creative soul at his karate Dojo. This fabulous person taught painting and introduced me to it. Through her, I became a member of a Painting Guild.
Over the years at this Guild, I met another creative soul that was President of a card making club. As I was so captivated with any thing she made…she invited me to a ‘Play Day’ at her home with other friends. I’ve been hooked since then!
I can combine both loves to create as well.
    It’s all Good :)ReplyCancel

    Dear Becca,
May you have a blessed day in the name of our Lord!
To answer your question, My best girl friend is a hospice nurse, who is a master designer of cards – inside and out! She was my introduction to the ministry of this craft. I must say, I would not be aware of the impact of a card ministry as I am without her input. Encouraging someone to use their talents to in turn encourage others is a gift in, and of it’s self. She was that to me! Now, I am also encouraged by your website. Your talent with dies are especially charming to me! This particular card resonates with my heart! It truly is beautiful! Thank you for sharing as you do!ReplyCancel

Beautiful blue elegant card. Love the sentiment.

I got hooked on paper crafting because an operation that went bad had me off my feet literally for over a year. When I could finally start walking some I badly needed to have something to do. My shoulder was damaged from the wheelchair, walker and cane, so no more sewing. My husband took me to a small place that had so many stamps and supplies and the women there helped me. Then, 2 months later they were going out of business. I didn’t learn much. Fortunately there was another store but they went out of business after a year of going there. When I look back on my first few cards in 2009 I realize how primitive, plain and somewhat ugly they were. I have pictures of almost everything I’ve made because I keep up with who was given what so I don’t duplicate. Another store opened in 2012 and I finally made the decision to start purchasing Copics. (one at a time) and then they went out of business. I’ve watched a lot of YouTube videos.ReplyCancel

    HI Bekka,

What a gorgeous piece of art!!! You have a knack of putting Spellbinders die cuts together in such creative ways.
Now to answer your question. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved playing with paper: paper dolls, school art projects, paper chains, you name it. And I loved different types of paper, too, such as foil, mulberry paper, and vellum. Fast forward to adulthood. My niece invited me to a stamping party and as soon as I sat down, I had one of those “aahhhh” experiences. I was hooked and have been stamping and scrapping ever since.ReplyCancel

I jumped in at the deep end. I had not done any papercrafting but I saw a lady who had “The Yellow Craft Barrow” in a shopping mall. At that time she didn’t have an actual shop but this barrow was decorated beautifully, so eye catching. She was rubber stamping and embossing and saw me watching so she showed me how to do it. I bought a rubber stamp, an ink pad and some embossing powder from her that day. I didn’t have a heat gun but she told me how to get round that and I practiced and practiced. I have never looked back – and I have certainly moved on from there!! I owe it all to this lady called Linda Brown in Milton Keynes!!! Super card Becca and this is one of the stamps I use a lot. Hugs Christine xxReplyCancel

Love the soft blue you used on this card. It is indeed a beautiful card. I have always loved crafts since I was a very young girl. No matter what kind of craft it perks my interest. One day I went into rubber stamp shop for the first time and one of the workers told me there was a free make it take it class ready to start. I sat down and made three cards and I have never stopped since then. That was also the first day I started to “collect”.ReplyCancel

I love the soft blue and the sentiment of the “Friends are those rare people…” card. The sentiment is so true of my best girlfriends. I was introduced to card making in the 1990’s by a coworker that talked me into attending a card making/scrapbooking convention with her. She says my eyes glazed over and I went home with bags full of supplies to start my new craft.ReplyCancel

There used to be a show on DIY Network called Scrapbboking with Sandi Genovese and The Carol Duvall Show. I watched in amazement of Dee Greunig melting embossing powder and I was hooked. Could not wait to go shopping to get what I needed in a town 2 hours away, only to find out there was so much more I could do. I really miss shows like that compared to the junk that is on TV now. Considering getting rid of our DishNetwork because there is nothing worth watching on TV.ReplyCancel

OH WOUW Another gorgeous creation here, absolutely love this one too Becca. The soft green you´ve put in among the layers looks so beautiful.
It was a friend from the US, who first got me hooked on Parchment Craft, and then later when a cataract made it hasrd to see the tiny details in those, I went on with all other kinds of cards as well, and lots of boxes and 3D elements and also altering all kinds of things too.ReplyCancel

I actually started scrapbooking about 18 years ago right before our daughter graduated from high school. Just picked it up from hearing and reading about it. A few years later I took a “rubber stamping in scrapbooks” class and was hooked. Unfortunately scrapping has pretty much gone aside in favor or stamping and making cards. I need to get back to it.ReplyCancel

Good Morning, Becca. I just adore the soft colors and the layering you used on the card for today. As to the question: I first got into crafting when I purchased my first house after renting for quite a few years. One of my neighbors invited me to a Stampin’ Up party. To be social and to get to know more of my neighbors, I attended. I was hooked from the beginning–pretty paper, ribbon, etc. And then, there were the stamps. Oh my! That was over 30 years ago; I’ve moved since then, and bought a different house, but I still have my love of crafting and all of the original stamps from that first party. Plus a “few” more, etc.ReplyCancel

    Becca,

Lovely card, I especially love the greeting. It is so rare today that anyone actually stops to hear what you have to say as they walk by and say “Hi, how are you?” It has to be a friend who cares ;-).

It’s been so long that I actually don’t remember who got me started and eventually hooked on paper crafting, but it had to be a friend.

    Be blessed,

Your card today is lovely, soft and sweet. Love all these layers. You inspire me with your talent. Thank you for sharing.

The person who got me hooked on papercrafting, card making for me, was Anna Griffin on hsn with her fabulous card making products. For some time, I was just not finding the card I was hoping to locate in the card section of my local stores. Either the decoration, or most important the seniment, was not what I was looking for in a store bought card. The cost of these store bought cards had become astonishing. After seeing Anna’s cards and products, I thought this would be the way for me to send the card I wanted to send with the sentiment of my choice, and SAVE a little money! HA!!! Well, I can tell you as you probably know, I have not saved any money. Can’t seem to stop buying my card making supplies. The good news, is I am using lots of these purchased card making items. I like what I am doing and the creative process makes me happy. My style of cards has been changing along the way and I think I have found the style now that I like the best. I always get great responses to the cards I send and the recipients are pleased to receive my cards. Another ego booster for me.ReplyCancel

    Good morning Becca,
Such a lovely card today, love all the layers!
After I retired, I took a class every Tuesday night locally in scrapbooking. The ladies sister was a demonstrator for some company and she had boxes and boxes of supplys which we could use. Once night she decided to diverse a little and said we were going to do a card. Ugh, I thought. And the rest is history! I don’t do much scrapbooking anymore – just cards and this lady has seen them and made some very nice comments. Since then of course I have found “Amazing Paper Grace” and that is how I got into the Spellbinder craze!!!!! Just got two more yesterday LOL!!

I love the lacey look of this card. As always your die layers are wonderful. Who got me hooked on papercrafting? Well, you and Carol Duvall and a lady named Julie who was the owner of a local stamp store, The Ink Spot can take at least some of the credit. When we got cable TV, I discovered the Carol Duvall Show. She had a number of guests who were stamp and papercraft artists. I started surfing stamp sites. My surfing safari led me to Amazing Paper Grace. I’ve been a follower longer than any other blog. At the time, I was leery of online shopping, so my stamp selections were pretty much limited to Hobby Lobby, Old Tyme Pottery and Michael’s. One day I got to talking to a lady in the stamp aisle at Michael’s who told me about The Ink Spot, which was actually not far from where I lived. I had a bit of trouble finding it at first, since I didn’t have the exact address, but once I did, I was HOOKED! They had wonderful stamps and wonderful teachers. I learned so much and expanded my skills. I was convinced I HAD to have a Cuddlebug. Then I HAD to have some Spellbinders dies and things just snowballed! Becca shared the latest die and The Ink Spot would order it for me. Sadly, The Ink Spot and most of the other local stores I later discovered, have closed their doors, but I have some great memories of the HOURS I spent taking classes and getting wonderful inspiration. Oh and BTW I’ve gotten over my reluctance to shop online.ReplyCancel

    Becca,
I made all my own wedding stationery 16 years ago and everyone was amazed and very complimentary(quite a small wedding). If I knew then what I know now I’d think twice. Years after that I saw ‘The Glitter Girls’ on a UK crafting channel and I was hooked TG.
Another very pretty, feminine card today – love the sentiment.

I have been crafting since my childhood but serious crafting……I one day got to see ano atc swap group and wondered what it was. Then one thing followed another and I made my blog. Then there was no looking back. I have come a long way…..and now crafting is my world….my heaven. Your cards are my eye candy …my idol … is you.. I love everything you make. Your creations seem from some other world. Winning a tiny bit would be awesome…..but living in a far away country has lots of disadvantages …I guess…but I will keep trying.ReplyCancel

Gorgeous card Becca! I was inspired to create cards by my niece. She had given me a set of cards created by her as a gift. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was going thru therapy. She would create when she was hurting or just did not feel well. This was her therapy to cope with this dreadful illness. I still have all of the cards as I can’t seem to have the heart to give them away. Have a blessed Sunday and a good week.ReplyCancel

My husband got me hooked. Our Y water exercise group has a monthly birthday party and we give cards to each other each month. He suggested I make them. So I took a few classes, got on to your website and mortgaged the house to pay for the dies and machines, etc (joking). I have been hooked ever since. He likes to see what I make each time. His only suggestion is if I buy it, I need to use it so I am careful when I buy more dies and paper that I have a plan for them. This has been a fun month, learning more about what other card makers do.ReplyCancel

Such a pretty card…I remember this one. And seeing it again reminded me of why I wanted those Elegant Ovals, giggle! So pretty, with that soft sky blue…and the perfect friend sentiment IMO.

I had always done a bit of paper rafting here and there…but my husband actually started me on card making. Little did he know the monster he would create! My niece had gotten a Cricut for her birthday in September and the adult women were all oohing and having over it, and he thought, “ha! No-brainier Christmas!” I was tickled, and started making cards. That summer we went to Canada to participate in a Relay for life in memory of a friend of ours, and I took the cards I had made and though if I could sell them I would just donate the proceeds. Well, all of them sold,

On the way home I told my husband I though I could make a go of this, selling a farmers markets and bazaars and such and was supportive, and my stash of of paper, stamps, things to color with, machines, embossing folders, etc. etc. grew, and so did my business…..and the rest is history.

And my inner papercrafting genie was born and nurtured and is a very happy soul.thanks for the trip down memory lane…I’ve had so many good mentors and teachers along the way…today is a good day to give thanks for them!

    Hello Becca,
It’s another beautiful card today with a wonderful sentiment.
About 17 years ago my daughter and I both independently decided to make our own gift tags for Christmas. When she told me what she was doing, I couldn’t believe it and said that I was drying orange slices, etc to do the same. So we did it together, and then thought about making the cards to match (only for family at that time) When I look back our efforts must have been terrible but we were pleased as punch and I have continued since then. I found stamps and ink pads, although they were in pretty basic colours then. My daughter now has two children and a full time job, so doesn’t do as much as she’d like.

What a pretty card! I know just who should get it (after me, of course!)

Who got me started is kind of a mixed bag – I got my older sister started on stamping & heat embossing…she now has over 9000 wood-mounded rubber stamps in her collection…when we first discovered them she kept going and I kind of let it slide. Then about 10 years ago my cousin made a gorgeous 50th anniversary scrapbook for her parents, my fav aunt/uncle, and I got back into it with a vengeance, starting with family reunion scrapbooks…I am more into the dies though…a true die-a-holic here!

Love your work Becca, and how you share your journey! TFS!ReplyCancel

  • Joanne LoweJuly 26, 2015 - 11:37 am

Stunning card, beautiful combination of die cuts really puts the sentiment from QuietFire in the center of attention. I love this stamp, what we want to be to our friends, and what we need from our friends when we are having a difficult time.

My aunt Joan is the one who really got me into crafting, I wasn’t at all a crafter, was much too busy as a classical flute professor and performer, then I was disabled in a car accident and eventually over the years needed something to do for an artistic outlet. I wish I could do it so much more, my physical challenges take me away from it, but when I can it’s such a joy to create. My goal is to create cards that will bring joy to its recipient, and for me to see improvement in my ability to make cards. My aunt has always been there for me, not just encouraging my card-making but also she and my uncle have been there for me and have been part of a very small number who have understood my changed situation, and never have they made me feel I was anything less because I was no longer the performer, no longer the university professor–and no one misses it more than I do. But card-making has filled a longing in another way to do something artistic. Nothing can replace music in my life, but God has given me this great activity. Now my prayer is to be able to do it so much more!!!

Thank you, Becca! Yours was one of the very first blogs I found and absolutely ADORED!!! Your cards literally have taken my breath away in their beauty, and I also have loved it that you too are a Child of the King. You have gone through tough times and I have seen our Savior bring you through and He has provided the way each time, which has been a joy to see… I bought your kits because I recognized they were exceptional, I haven’t been able to use them yet but cannot wait to do this when I can. My all-time favorite die is the tiers one you brought out to sell to the public, but I got all 6 kits over time. I look at lots of blogs now, but yours is still one I HAVE to see, thank you!!! Blessings and prayers for you, JoanneReplyCancel

My mom…at her death. I wanted to honor her and illustrate all that she meant to our family. The only paper store that was open on a Sunday was a local, family owned store that sold to printers. The store had one row of stamps. I purchased paper, a rainbow stamp pad, and a butterfly stamp that I scanned (after stamping ) and used the image in various sizes throughout the funeral materials including the literature pieces that the priests and ministers used during the service. Everyone said that the service was such a beautiful celebration of life that it was like a wedding..a new beginning for my mother. 20 years later I am a paper artist with too many craft supplies! I stumbled upon a card making kit in my local bargain shop and bought it. It was the stick the bits on type which I did a few of but got a bit bored. I then saw Sue Wilson demoing Spellbinders and I was amazed at her creations. Die cutting and embossing immediately appealed once I’d seen it and stamping etc… So I had to buy a grand calibre that came with morrocan accent and motif dies. Remember them?! That was the first die I cut and I was hooked from thereonin! Love your card especially that oval which is wonderful. It’s a cold wet day here today. Many years ago I decided I wanted an evening to myself – I had two young kids and was a single mom and wanted a creative outlet. Looked through the community classes and found a stamping class. I thought it sounded interesting and wanted to check it out. Went there and booked it and paid for it. When she asked if I was interested in the other 3 classes she gave, I declined. That evening my eyes were opened and I was addicted! We made 4 cards and a card holder and I was amazed. Used my first Stampin Up set of Terrific Tulips. Went to not only those other 3 classes but many others!ReplyCancel

I began “scrapbooking” when I was in elementary school. I was involved in sports and I “scrapped” a lot of my ribbons and medals. When I look at those scrapbooks, I wonder if I had not yet gone through creative puberty!! But, my real passion started when we helped a single mother out. I don’t recall any one person getting me hooked on papercrafting. Many moons ago, like, circa 1977, I answered an ad in a magazine for some free unmounted rubber stamps, 4 little one inch stamps for the asking, all I had to do was pay the postage. It was from a company, can’t remember who now, and was a balloon, a cake slice, a birthday candle, and confetti. But that is what got me started. I was making little gift enclosure cards in no time, and selling them through the mail! That was my beginning! Awww, the memories!ReplyCancel

I stopped by her house one day and she showed me her supplies and how she had made the card. I was hooked. I tried scrapbooking but the 12×12 page was too much space and I lost interest. Cards had me hooked and I liked the fact that not only did I receive pleasure from the making but others derived pleasure from the receiving. That was 2007 and I’ve never looked back…although my husband asked me one time how much I was going to spend every month on supplies. Good morning Becca and fellow peeps – I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. Your card today, Becca, uses some of my favorite Spellbinders dies, Elegant Labels Four, Romantic Rectangle and Elegant Ovals! I love how you put them all together. I would love to see this card up close just to learn from you and, of course, because it’s beautiful. *smile*
My daughter-in-law, Heidi, actually got me into scrapbooking as my beginning into pappercrafting. She had given birth to my first grandchild, Noah, now age 15. Wow! Has it really been that long? She had recently started scrapbooking so I would go shopping with her and loved helping her pick out supplies. I watched her create layouts for six months before I decided scrapbooking was something I would enjoy. Once I started, I was hooked because I wanted to create albums full of my memories of this wonderful baby boy for him to read and look at one day. Scrapbooking led to card making and I am so thankful for my daughter-in-law and that she inspired me to stretch my creativity.ReplyCancel

My husband sent me over to the mall where there was a large craft show. There was a lady with a maple leaf stamp, embossing powder and a heat gun making greeting cards. They were beautiful! That had me hooked. I started with rubber stamps and embossing powders. Now I use rubber stamps, brass stencils, embossing stencils, dies, ink pads, colored pencils, aqua markers, markers, copic markers, spectrum noir, chalk pencils, chalk ink pads, chalk powders, oil pencils, glitter(many, many colors), embossing powders (many, many colors) micro beads, gold leaf, and more paper than I will ever use in my life time! lol Purchase 98% of my stash before I retired. Now that I have retired, I get to play more and use my “toys”. I haven’t purchased a greeting card (except for my boss because I forgot to make one) since 1998!ReplyCancel

A Creative Memories consultant whose childhood home was lost to fire convinced me to scrapbook in a safe manner and to backup photos off-site. Having all the scrapbook papers and tools caused me to think about making cards, and APG was the first card making blog I ever read. So, Becca, you are a part of paper crafting journey and a true example, though your cards are far more elegant than mine will ever be.ReplyCancel

I’ve been crafting for as long as I can remember – my mom always had fun projects for us (I remember doing shrinky dink with lids to plastic containers that we drew on, colored and then put them in the oven to shrink). As for paper crafting, that’s all on my. I bought my first rubber stamps in a crazy store I found on a business trip (crazy because it had everything not just craft stuff and was quite overwhelming). But I went back there my next trip, and picked up a couple more stamps as well as a set of Suzy’s Zoo stamps for my nephew to use to make a picture for his mom who was then station in Korean), and it went from there. That was 30 years and tons of craft materials ago. And I still love it! Today’s card – beautiful as usual and I love the colors!ReplyCancel

I had a friend ask me to go to a StampinUp class. I had never heard of StampinUp but she told me I would have a good time. I think I spent over $500 on that first class. Holy Cow, did I have a great time. That started my whole love affair with all things paper and ink and stamps and dies and ribbon and all things magical. Your giveaway is winding down and I so much want to win one of your cards! Heck, I would buy one of your cards!ReplyCancel

  • Charlotte ZweigoronJuly 26, 2015 - 4:04 pm

Wow!! It was so long ago; I barely remember which event came first. I knew a lady who was a distributor for some kind of photo album and she showed me how to cut circles, etc. with a rotating blade tool and hard plastic stencils (Fiskars?) to use as mats for my photos. Then there was a class I took at a meeting room in a local hotel. I think a friend told me about it and I signed up. That class was really the thing that got my initial interest. After that, I did a number of Christmas cards each year. The designs were so simple and the materials so unrefined compared to those available today. I know it had to have been over 20 years ago. I got very serious about it around 6 years ago when my sister and I started doing some paper crafting during our vacations together. Another friend told me I needed to subscribe to your site and that was the beginning of the kind of paper crafting I do and teach today. Bless you!!ReplyCancel

My Aunt, Audrey. I remember was when I was nine years old I made Aunt Audrey a birthday card. I used to have a beautiful cursive (handwriting) and would make handmade “cards” using my school notebook paper. She heaped praise and encouragement on me. It gave me the confidence to create. I would buy the occasional stamp from Ben Franklin’s but got seriously involved with stamping when a co-worker introduced me to Stampin’ Up! Recently, I’ve gotten into die cutting in a big way. Even though I love my toys, I still enjoy making cards by hand using a brass stencil; stylus; and light box.ReplyCancel

What hooked me onto Paper crafting was really seeing one of your soft Romantic, Shabby, Victorian, Chic, Vintage Cards with all the lovely details and all the Love, Heart and Soul you have put into your cards. Ever since I first tripped across your blog I have secretly wanted one of your precious cards for myself as an Inspiration I could see daily.

I know I have only been following and commenting sporadically due to my painful physical conditions, but I do check out each post even if I am not able to comment some days.

I have said it before and I will say it again: I’m Amazed by your God-given talent!

A bit on the personal side now:

You have been my Spiritual Mentor even if You have not known it. I love your heart for God and His Love and how you continue to give in spite of all the pain you have had to travel through. You have truly turned your Ashes into Beauty and you share it with EVERYONE you meet whether online or off. Hi Becca,
Another gorgeous card as always. Thanks for sharing :)
I got into card making all on my own. No body in my immediate family is actually crafty. My mother only did the occasional mending with clothes. My father likes to make things but in an industrial kind of way, lots of late nights in the shed inventing lol. So I guess I get the patients to do craft from him. For me it’s more something I got into to get away from the crazyness of life. To bring me back to Earth, teach me to relax, be patient & let my brain think & be creative xReplyCancel

We went to a graduation party and I saw a sports scrapbook on display of all the graduates sports teams, accomplishments, awards, etc. Our son’s graduation was coming up and I wanted to do something similar for him. Our youth pastor’s wife was into scrapbooking and she came over and helped me get all of his sports activities from pre-school thru high school organized and scrapbooked in just a week or two. Like most early scrapbookers it was a lot of solid color cardstock and LOTS of stickers but it did the job and our son loved it. He’s 29 now and still loves to look thru it.ReplyCancel

Beautiful card, with those wonderful layers and fun quote. I honestly don’t remember who got me hooked on papercrafting. I’ve kept scrapbooks of sorts since I was a child and I think it was looking at my Grandmother’s and aunt’s scrapbook of historical happenings that got me started. I took a few years off after graduation and then eventually got restarted after seeing some beautiful scrapbooks that had been hand bound telling the family history of one family. Since then I’ve made several genealogy albums with pictures dating back 150 years or so. Now I’m making them for nieces and nephews as their graduation presents in the future.ReplyCancel

These are colors I love, the light blue and the white. It’s a beauty.
I did enjoy a restful day with my hubby and daughter doing the cooking and my children and grands, gathered to celebrate my 76th birthday.

I started paper crafting when a cousin called and asked if I could get her a Cricut as she couldn’t get one where she lives. They were just new coming out and and the very first of the Cricuts. So my husband went to Michaels with me to get it for her and they had an extra one there so my husband asked me if I would like one for my birthday. Of course I said yes and now 4 Cricuts , 2 Silhouette Cameos and a few embossing/die cutting machines and hordes of crafting stuff later, I’m still loving crafting and creating.ReplyCancel

    Such a delightful colour combination!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the questions you’ve posed in this writing adventure! I’ve been journaling my answers – some wonderful memories brought to mind because of it! Thank you!
My Mum first got me hooked on paper crafting and I have wonderful memories of our time together. Hours cutting newspaper so I could cut something, other than my hair… Ahem! The magic of runny glue drying under glitter! Making many toilet roll dolls using the “pretty” glossy advert pages of the magazines. The wonderful messy play with paint and crayons became the wall paper and carpets for my dolls or for dioramas! I love that there are so many products that take me back to childhood – only better! Chalky stamps= pavement play on a less grand scale, gelatos=pastels in a tube, runny glue comes with fancy nozzles so you can be precise, blending markers = felt pens that finally blend! I giggled to myself the other day, as I used foam tape to lift a motif. When I was small I rolled paper or pleated paper strips for a pop out effect!ReplyCancel

Cardmaking Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Victorian Arch - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Today is Day 25 of the 30 Days of Giving.  Earlier this month we began the conversation talking about handwritten; preserving the written word by sending handmade gifts, handmade cards and handmade notes that show off the beauty of our authentic handwriting.  Because you care to send the very best, crafters put such attention and care into the things we make.  I pulled one of my favorite stamps out of my stash for today’s card, I thought this month would be the perfect time to bring it back out.  It’s my mantra.   When I’m cranky, I know what’s missing – my creative break.  In my heart I know it doesn’t have to be big production that I finish and show off to the world – it can be doodling, painting part of a wall, staging books on the table, arranging flowers picked from the garden.

Cardmaking Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Victorian Arch (close up) - www.amazingpapergrace.com
No doubt you’ve spied some pretty new supplies here today.  Spellbinders Victorian Arch die absolutely took my breath away and I shuffled it around on my table for a bit deciding how I wanted to use it.  Today I’m using it as a header but can you imagine how it can be used.  So delicate and lacy and the border is amazing.  I cut the half circle for use at the top of the card then just the outline die to cut the bottom Victorian Border.  For the bottom of my card I used Spellbinders Classic Scallop.  Vellum is a wonderful way to change out the sentiments used on this card format in the blink of an eye.  I used regular store bought vellum and got very good results by stamping with chalk ink – the brands I’ve used are Amuse Studio, Impress – Fresh Ink and Avery Elle.  This is the giveaway card for today and I’m including another sentiment that I stamped up but didn’t use.  Card Size: 5-1/2″ x 7″

For today’s comment – Other than card making, what do you do to get your daily creative fix?

Hi Becca, This card is a beauty–simple, elegant with just enough fuss with ribbon and flowers. Another winner. Don’t know how you do it, but love your prolific results. Cooking is my other main outlet–husband still expects dinner and lunches so instead of complaining, I play with food ideas since he never knows what he wants. Life is good. Thanks again for being my personal designer.ReplyCancel

  • BunnyJuly 25, 2015 - 7:21 am

Oh, goodness. This is a hard one for me. I can’t think of anything on a daily basis that motivates my creativity other than paper crafting. If we have friends for supper I do like to make the table look as nice as the food is going to taste. It’s a special feeling to sit down to a tasty meal and the table looks so nice. Sometimes I like to add place cards to make it even more special.ReplyCancel

gorgeous card. today’s question is the hardest for me. hmmm I guess I just create a mess. then eventually I pull it all together.ReplyCancel

  • Marlene IacuzziJuly 25, 2015 - 7:24 am

The sentiment also speaks to me-But I find those times when I am just “trying things” a bit defeating because I have so many “To Do” cards that don’t get done when I am just playing. There’s so much out there to inspire in the card-making world that I get overwhelmed.
To answer your question, though, I find trying a new recipe also feeds my creative need. Especially the baking- where I have fewer disappointments. It’s hard to fail when there’s chocolate or sugar involved.ReplyCancel

Morning, lovely card with amazing new dies used to create it.
Currently, my daily creative fix is satiated with all aspects of card making, gardening, and genealogy. Before my husband needed care and help 24/7, I was heavily into heiriloom sewing making the most exquist Christening gowns. Now that my husband has died, I am slowly getting back into doing things that make me happy. I hope to return to my heirloom sewing in the near future, but currently most of my attention is directed into card making and making new friends.

Other than card making, what do you do to get your daily creative fix?ReplyCancel

Wow! I, too, instantly loved the new arch die. You used it so beautifully in this card. The colors of cocoa and cream I should use more as they are just so eye catching. As for my creative fix….well, i have a very pretty high producing flower garden and so to water it and prune and weed and often times pick a bouquet fills gives me great pleasure. To be given such a gift as flowers by our Creator oftentimes overwhelms me with happiness. I just can’t help but say these things about Him. Wow, haven’t thought about this as a daily process, but I guess I am rather obsessive about creativity! Lol.
Since I am retired, I have more free time to spend as I wish. I live in a wonderful community that offers so many activities from which to choose. I have been involved in ceramics, Calligraphy, scrapbooking & paper crafts for several years now. Those all involve creativity, I think. I have participated in one or more of these on a daily basis since I joined.
Just recently I have joined a dance club for exercise after I started filling out my chair a little too much! Lol I guess that is still creativity, just not my own. The instructor plans the steps for us.
Always said I wanted to learn how to play cards. I think I will save that for when I have difficulty moving or seeing. {Wink, wink.}ReplyCancel

To get my daily fix, well I am doing it!!!! The first thing I do in the morning, is get on my computer and check out my favorite sites and e-mails. This is usually one of the first places. Gotta tell you Becca, I will really miss this when the 30 days are up. I love having you on a daily basis. Not that you don’t keep us updated several times a week usually, but I have enjoyed this daily dose tremendously. We have had a really bad year this year and things have gotten pretty hecktic of late and this is how I have managed to hold it all together – just taking a few minutes a day to enjoy what I enjoy the most and loose my thoughts in crafting before I have to get back into the reality mode. This just couldn’t have hit me at a better time. Thank you.

Becca..if only you could put photos of every card you have made into one big gorgeous book!! It would fly off the shelf. and it doesn’t even have to have all the directions, just a “picture book”. Every project you have ever made has always been a thrill for us your followers.

Even when there is very little time in my life to do much else, I have been amazed at how just arranging a few little flowers does something and opens up some little crack into creativity and surprisingly, a little peace comes with it too. So next time we all see even those 9.99 or 3 for $10.00 flower specials at the groceries…maybe we should all pick one up and play with new ideas at home. It really is soothing. I don’t have time to grow them or I would suggest that you just cut some outside and bring them in to arrange. Just a very few placed at varying heights is enough!!ReplyCancel

For inspiration, I take in all of God’s creation around me – so much color and beauty! I also check out blogs. When I wake up in the morning, I lay in bed for around 30 minutes and think about what card I want/need to create and the possible techniques to do it. LOL, but it works for me! When stumped for an idea…of course I pray – this should be my first option rather than my last!
Your card is absolutely beautiful Becca!!! Thanks so much for sharing.

I don’t really do too much else creative. I have done some scrapbooking as well as a few jewelry pieces and some beaded ornaments but not lately. Used to do some knitting a long, long time ago. It’s that time of year that I spend mostly on cardmaking for my business as well as for sending at the holidays.ReplyCancel

So pretty…am liking that new die, too! Oh what the heck…if I’m honest, I pretty much like them all! LOL! I love using vellum, too…so ethereal…elegant.

I’ve been doing more mixed media lately for creativity, and enjoying that. That was easier to do before this temporary journey into wheels, so have been looking for more portable things. Amazon just delivered some new things this morning…and when I finish email, I will delve back into an old passion….coloring! One of my new books is Simple Blessings Coloring Book and I can’t wait to get started!then, there is also the owl one, and the dream catcher, life on earth one….

    Blessings for the day, Becca…

Good Afternoon, Becca. I’m so glad you used the new Spellbinders Victorian Arch. It is awesome and you are so clever in your use of it! As to your question about other creative endeavors: I also make journal. So when I need a spark of creativity, I turn to playing in my art journal to try out some of the new techniques in multi media work. Usually, playing around with no rules and lots of messy colors and acrylics sets my mind free and I can come back to whatever problem is plaguing me in my card making. Thanks for doing the series. The questions you are asking and the varied answers you are getting are quite thought provoking!ReplyCancel

I generally get my creative outlet everyday at work, I’m a graphic designer. With that said, I truly enjoy cardmaking because I do graphic design for an engineering firm, sometimes that means I don’t get to be very creative or that it is technical in nature. But I get to use some great software that allows me to be creative on how I create my graphics to be aesthetically pleasing!

I love to sew, quilt, crochet, knit, cross stitch, and believe it or not walking, I do a lot of mental creativeness while walking, I’ll design a new quilt, or card in my head as I’m walking, keeps my mind off of what I’m doing. Hi, Becca,
I absolutely love, love love today’s card! The die elements are gorgeous, the sentiment is perfect and the ribbon even picks up the ink color in the sentiment. I hope day 25’s winner is me!

There are two passions in my life – making cards and making music. I sing in two choral groups and sometimes play guitar accompaniment for solo performances. Music has helped me through very difficult times in my life. I’ve written prayer-songs to express sadness and hope. One song reminds and inspires contemplation – “a little time, you KNOW the clamor, a little time, I can’t be heard, take some time and in the silence, hear me whisper ~ I love you.”

    Blessings, dear one,

I love this card and die. Such a classy design which could be used for lots of ocassionally.
I tend to get my crafty fix by simply moving things around my desk when I am having really bad mojo days (which seems to be a lot just lately). I want to do so many things but feel like I need some push or Kickstart inspiration. Your cards manage to do that for me but due to bad health seeing me leave my job, and returning to school, I can’t afford to purchase any of the dies you use, so I would never be able to achieve anything like it. Ordinary ‘life’ things get in the way sadly but maybe one day I will be able to concentrate more on craft alone, if only I could get a job which incorporates it, it would be fabulous lol!

    Have a great day

    Love & hugs

I love that question, because I never dreamed I would make anything hand-made. I was a decent cook and I was settling for that. A friend who showed dogs was scrapbooking and asked me to take her by Michaels (I had offered to take her home from a dog show). I’d never set foot in a Michael’s. She said I could drop her off and she’d have one of her kids pick her up. I didn’t care for that idea, so I went in with her. I admired a cute rubber stamp of Tweety Bird…not quite sure why. She bought it for me and I stamped it onto little notes I’d send to my kids. Two weeks later she invited me to a Stampin’ Up party and there was no turning back. Here it is 15 yrs. later and her eyesight is failing. She recently offered me all of her supplies. But I suspect I may have twice as much as she has.ReplyCancel

I absolutely love your cards and the cool techniques that you share. I’m trying to make your Spellbinders Hinged Card Bases for Filigree Shaped Cards. I’m having trouble getting the double cut on the top (double layer). I’ve run in through my Big Kick 6 times and still the back 1″ piece will not cut through. I’ve tried cut side up and cut side down, running it through with double side first and then turning and running through again with cut side last. Oh, I’ve also been running it with waxed paper. I’m totally frustrated and any help/suggestions you give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

WOW! Love the design of this stunning card, the fan is so perfect. Love the light coffee or taupe colors and creams. Once again this is a Becca. There aren’t too many things I do that gives me a creative fix like card making and scrapbooking, heaven help us if a dust cloth should pass through my hands. I do love to read and do so every afternoon and before bed, helps me to relax and get me to sleep!

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design and Spellbinders - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Top of the morning to you!   I have a new card to share this morning – Day 24 of the 30 Days of Giving.   I was playing around with more Sapphire Dies and loved this set of wings and heart called Love in Flight.  I stamped my sentiment on Spellbinders Baby Buntings and topped it off with Spellbinders Victorian Corners.  The sentiment is one of my favorites (yes, another favorite) from Quietfire Design called  There Are Two Things We Can Give Our Children.

For today’s comment – Which weighs heavier with you when you’re creating handmade cards – the overall look or the message?   There’s no right answer, just a preference :-)

Hi Becca , stunning card again like the sentiment,I found it very difficult to have the children use their wings! My cards I try to have a balance between design and sentiment so both options are important to me.Take care Jane B.ReplyCancel

  • Marzee CarnesJuly 24, 2015 - 9:16 am

I think, to me, it is the overall look. I already have a message in mind when creating the card, so it is the design that I struggle with. Though the message is the most important part to get across, it is usually the easiest for me, and I have to spend much more time on the design.ReplyCancel

  • Janet CobbJuly 24, 2015 - 9:23 am

It depends on the purpose, if it’s a sympathy card then the message is most important. If it is a birthday card, get-well, etc. then the overall look can be more important to me. Beautiful card, by the way! It would make an amazing Mother’s Day card for my new daughter-in-law!ReplyCancel

I think it’s the overall look. It depends on what the card is for naturally, but I like CAS cards mostly, I think because I’m uncomfortable in how to make the more elegant cards like you do so well! I have only made a couple of those and although they turned out oK, it was stressful to me. but I want the person getting the card to be very happy with what I’ve sent also.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca. That is a great sentiment on your featured card. For me, that is the biggest challenge is getting wording for what I’m making the card for. I like the professional look of a stamped sentiment, but often I hand write my own.ReplyCancel

  • Mary EstherJuly 24, 2015 - 9:58 am

  • Jeannine S.July 24, 2015 - 9:58 am

It really depends on the occasion. If it’s something like a birthday or a happy occasion, I usually focus on the stamp or image . If it’s a sympathy card or a get well ( card for a cancer patient ) then I focus more on the sentiments used.ReplyCancel

  • SueJuly 24, 2015 - 9:59 am

Another beauty! The wings and heart look so nice. In answer to your question, I concentrate on the overall look. I don’t have many sentiment stamps and sometimes think that a sentiment on the front can take away from the design. However, I think that you incorporate your sentiments into the design with other dies, gems, ribbons, etc. so that they blend together well.ReplyCancel

  • DeborahJuly 24, 2015 - 10:01 am

  • DebraJuly 24, 2015 - 10:02 am

    Beautiful card Becca!
I usually know what stamp I will use and choosing one is not difficult. I struggle always at the very beginning of creating a card. It’s like I can’t remember how! Once I decide what colors I’m using and the design, it all seems to come together. Magic happens while I’m making the card and it always amazes me. Almost always looks great when I’m done.ReplyCancel

  • SuzzieQJuly 24, 2015 - 10:02 am

This sentiment is one of my favorites as well. When I am creating a handmade card, I think of the recipient and their likes. The gender of the recipient is the first requirement in my thought process and definitely determines the look of the card. The message is most important and sometimes I will think about the message for a day or two to make sure I say what I want to say and not just choose a generic statement. Many times I will type up on my computer my message and add it to the inside of my card as a folded layer. I always add a short handwritten sentence or two also before signing the card. Just wanted to tell you how elegant your dazzlers are on your bows.ReplyCancel

  • Marcie SmithJuly 24, 2015 - 10:06 am

    Hi, Becca,
Another thought-provoking question. Being a singer-songwriter, a similar question comes up. What’s more important, the melody or the lyrics?

Songs and handmade cards are powerful because of the harmonious balance of medium and message. The written word sometimes needs no embellishment but give it beauty for eyes and ears and that speaks directly to the heart. That’s why I love expressing this way, my heart can touch another’s heart. Isn’t that an amazing grace?

    Blessings,

Giving our children wings is important and oh so hard when they use them. When my youngest complained about chores, I replied with a something I had heard before. Beautiful saying on this card. Children are a blessing from up above-my Mama use to say that God would lend us our children-to take care of nourish with love and faith. Than we need to let them go and let them begin their journey. Always knowing they took our hearts prayers and thoughts. But leaving their hearts with us. I think that I prefer the overlook of the card first and the finishing touch is the words that makes it all a great creation. Have a wonderful Friday.ReplyCancel

    Hello Becca,
As I only make cards for friends and family, I tailor my cards for the person – and the occasion – so the overall look is important. Then I concentrate on the sentiment. If I don’t have the perfect stamp, then I try to compose something appropriate.

  • MarilynYJuly 24, 2015 - 1:57 pm

I usually start with a message and then the design of the card evolves around this. The size of the message on a tag and the person’s gender and occasion will determine the coloring and embellishments used. Of course by the time everything is selected the whole room is a disorganized mess again. But it’s a happy mess.ReplyCancel

Becca I heard this saying this morning on AFR. They were talking about raising children. It is what we strive for with our children to know they can take care of themselves when we are gone. They need to know where they come from so they understand why we did what we did with them. When I make a card for someone I really want it to look perfect. I really want the msg to fit the look that I am going for. So I guess both! We can have it all! Blessings, LisaReplyCancel

What a beautiful rich looking card Becca! Just gorgeous. What weighs more with me the look of the card or the message? Hard to say as I want every card I make to be special for that individual person. I guess as I look at who its going to and what pleases them, I think it comes out a balance. Sometimes though I want to get more extravagant with a particular person and really push myself to make a “just right” card. Thanks Becca for a chance to win this creation of yours!ReplyCancel

  • DebbieBJuly 24, 2015 - 2:24 pm

For me it is a mix. The look of the card I like to be designed with total regard for the recipient….do they like flowers? That kind of thing. After going to the trouble to decide on that then the message becomes important as well.

    Gorgeous card again today!ReplyCancel

Very lovely card as usual, Becca. I try to pull things together with the design of the card even tho I know what I want for the message. Usually I have a stamp that will be good for the card, however, it is not the swirly text you use which I love that makes it unique and traditonal. What font are most of your texts made with?ReplyCancel

  • NancyRJuly 24, 2015 - 2:51 pm

Very pretty. I love the Quietfire sentiments. I think the main thing for me is the design of the card. The design drives the sentiment and I love to see the look on the face of the people when they see the design made especially for them. I try to match the design and colors for the person who will receive the card.ReplyCancel

Ooh, I may have to like this sentiment again. I think it got so overused for a while it became trite for me, however true it is. Love the heart and wings die, and I don’t usually like that image….hmmm…wonder how soon I can roll into JoAnns!
Love how you anchored the wings with the pearls, great visual with the sentiment. Awesome card, Becca. Thanks.

Definitely for me, it is the message in a card, and then I try really hard for the design to support that. I want it to fit the person I am making it for, so color and taste come into play…steampunk for one niece, flowers for another, definitely the princess for one grand-niece, pink/purple for my daughter…but that very special saying first. For me it begins with the words and then works with all the other elements to say, “I love you and you are so important in my life…”
And now you have me thinking especially of my wonderful family, and how much I love them and the next card I will be designing for them….blessings and gratitude, Becca.

    Once again, another beautiful card.

Looks or sentiment. It kinda depends. Right now I have been on a kick of using up my scraps. So, I’m making 4 ¼” square cards with scripture verses and some that are get well cards. They are still pretty but it’s basically The Word that I am concentrating on. I will give them to our church secretary who will send them as needed. So far, I’ve made 19 and I’m close to using up the small scraps. One of the cards unfortunately was mailed to my grandson in Georgia who broke 4 ribs yesterday clowning around in the gym after he just ran for 30 minutes at school. School is out, but he is in track and they are in practice. He knows he was wrong and all he was worried about was the coach was going to tell me how dumb it was. Yes, grandson, a lesson learned. He’s down and out for 4-6 weeks. Praise the Lord he didn’t puncture a lung or damage his spleen. Maybe his Daddy can preach about him this Sunday. Oh those teen years.ReplyCancel

Hope you are having a wonderful day Becca! Your New Card Is So LOVELY and the sentiment is beautiful. Thank you for sharing so many unique cards that are so inspiring.
When I create a card for someone, I want the card to convey what I am sending it for as well as have a sentiment that puts into words what I want to say. I hope my card draws them in to take a few minutes to really look at the card and that my sentiment will share the emotions behind my card. I would like to share how much I care, how many birthday wishes I am sending or that my deepest sympathy with prayers and love are being sent both by the look of the card and the sentiment. I do
always write my own personal note in every card I send.

As I am sure you know sometimes it seems that we get hung up on the outside only to find we can’t seem to find the right words. you have outdone yourself again as usual! I like how you printed material for the wings instead of just plain paper. for me I start first with the outside design,I want it to be perfect. If I don’t have to see him for an outside, I use the computer and print own on my card stock and then cut it with my die. The inside card i typically write myself (on the computer). So I am picky about both – but have the control over the words that will speak to their heart.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, a magnificent card carrying a very sound sentiment.
You know how we say ‘first impressions are very important’ I think it is the same when someone receives a card. So, No.1 the best design you can produce in suitable or the favourite colours of the recipient, No.2 a spot on sentiment, expressing the reason for the card and appropriate personal message on the inside. Perhaps a suitable verse as well.
    Bless you. Mary.ReplyCancel

I place the message in the overall look and feel. The look needs to tell the story by generating a feeling similar to a painting. However, I do search for specific words to clearly communicate the feeling. That is why I always like the word stamps that you find at your favorite stamp vendors! Sorry, I forgot to answer your question. I do think that the message is more important than the overall appearance, but I do spend more time on the appearance. So in a way it’s rather even… Perhaps as I improve as a card-maker, I will be able to spend more time on the message, at the moment I work on the appearance as I see my technical flaws all too clearly in my cards. But I’m grateful I see improvement over time… :) Partially for sure due to all I learn from seeing your cards and from other card-making great artists. :)

I think I value both equally, as I always try to make all my cards so they fit just right for the person, who´s recieving it, and if I can find a sentiment, that just fiit that person too, I really feel a big satisfaction, when I´m done, and I know many of my friends have often said, that it was spot on and just hit them, and then I feel I´ve really managed to do a really good job.
