Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design (The Best Kiss) and Spellbinders Labels One Card Front - tutorial at www.amazingpapergrace.com
I’m so tickled to share this morning!  I’m sharing the flower tutorial you all have been requesting and there was no better way to show those flowers off than with a new Quietfire Design sentiment – a cuddly, lovely, romantic one at that!! As you know, I’ve been so smitten with scrunched paper flowers as of late.   They are so easy to make and after seeing the inspiration on Pinterest, I set about to figure out how to ease them into my workflow.   To me the key is to have a nicely balanced die template that will allow you to work with the wet paper without tearing the petals off and for this I’m using Spellbinders Garden Blooms (by A Gilded Life).

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design (The Best Kiss) and Spellbinders Labels One Card Front - tutorial at www.amazingpapergrace.com
My 6″ square card features another outstanding set of new stamps by my friend Suzanne Cannon with Quietfire Design, it’s called The Best Kiss.  This is definitely for the heart throb in your life and I say its a promising candidate for new found romance, wedding and anniversary or just to show love.  It’s my first time to try out a couple of new Spellbinders that have been sitting on the shelf – the background is Spellbinders Labels One Card Front.  I embellished the Card Front with Spellbinders Labels One and the accent piece from Spellbinders Imperial Square (there are four pieces, they are all turned upside down and glued behind Labels One).

So here’s the video showing how I made the flowers:

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – The Best Kiss
Craft Paper
:  Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb smooth, Bazzill, Papertrey Ink
Ink:  Versafine – Onyx Black
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels One Card Front, Spellbinders Labels OneSpellbinders Imperial Square Spellbinders Garden Blooms (by A Gilded Life), Recollection Pearls, May Arts Silk Ribbon, clear embossing powder

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I actually made a card with the flowers and ribbon shown in the video and I’m hoping I can share it next week!  So who’s putting flowers on their list of things to try next?

Question Parking Lot:
In case you wondered . . .
I used Papertrey Ink paper for the blooms on the card above.  For the video I used Coredinations – you should do fine with almost any paper you choose :-)

I prefer to dry petals over night but they can be dried with a heat gun if you’re impatient.  The heat gun makes the petals more brittle in my opinion.

No snipping needed on top petal if you want an open hollow in the center of your flower.  Snip the center, roll and glue to fill in that hollow with top petal.

The extra petal I made in the video looks much like the spritzed petals I made except the coloring is more subtle and the overall color is the color of the original paper.

Morning Becca, Thank you, thank you, thank you, for this tutorial. I adore these flowers, I would never have known how to do this without your tutorial, the outcome is stunning, as is your card showcased here too.
My new Great Granddaughter, Sophia Grace, was born yesterday (Sunday) at 6.23 pm weighing 7 lb 1 oz. I can hardly wait for them to come home so that I can have a ‘hold’, but will have to wait as don’t think they will be home today. My Daughter sent me a piccie by text the minute that she had been born, adorable.

Awesome. So happy to have this great video to start my week showing these lovely flowers. I’m flower challenged, so this one was most helpful. Would also love to see you do a video showing how to make an envelope that would work to mail these dimensional cards. I think that’s one reason I don’t try harder with flowers like this, because I never have an envelope that works well to mail a card with this kind of dimensional embellishment. Have a great week Becca. Hugs & Blessings.ReplyCancel

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design - If I Had A Star and Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25 - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning!  I’m popping in quickly again to share yet another sentiment from Quietfire Design – If I had a Star.  This is a sentiment that is now mounted onto cling rubber and I thought it would be perfect for my framed card.  As you can tell I have been on a romantic and feminine card kick as of late – I made a series of cards using the things I have out on my counter and this was one of several I crafted at the same time.  I started out with a card base onto which I added Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty Five.  I love using  Spellbinders Mediterranean Medallion embossing folder because it’s quite easy to trim along the embossed lines to make a frame.  I mounted this as the upper layer over top of my sentiment.

I finished up by pulling a couple of my flowers from a recent stash using Spellbinders Garden Blooms (by A Gilded Life).   A seam binding bow and pearls finished things off!!  I love a nice big sentiment like this one – it fills out the frame very nicely :-)

Custom Frame by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning sweet friends!  I’m popping in to share a quick personal project I made . . .  because sometimes we turn our crafty endeavors to decorating our homes, right?  So this is a picture of my sweet girl and this is her college graduation picture; believe it or not, this is one I didn’t have sitting out at home.  I picked up this very inexpensive frame at the place that literally extracts all the money from my wallet, it’s my Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory kind of place otherwise known as Ikea.  The white metal frame is very pretty but I wanted to spice it up a little bit, so I simply used  Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket (eek, one of my new Amazing Paper Grace line of dies) to frame the picture.  Since this year has been one of flowers for me, I made a batch of flowers using Spellbinders Garden Blooms (by A Gilded Life) to embellished the frame.

Custom Frame by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket - www.amazingpapergrace.com
This was a quick an easy project that slow me completed in less than an hour!  I simply printed her picture with my Inkjet Printer, cut it to size, inserted the Swirls Bliss Folder die at the top and bottom of the picture before inserting into frame.  I hot glued the bows and flowers into place and finished with a corsage pin and a tiny little tassel :-)   So much of what I make leaves the house, so every once in a while, I’m tickled that a piece that gets to stay and reminds me of those I love (gush).

Tomorrow I’ll be back with some new items that landed at my house from Quietfire Design!  I hope you’ll stop by and see!

Question Parking Lot:
Many of you have asked  where to get my dies.  They are currently in the Spellbinders store for order :-).  The best source for up-to-date information is Spellbinders customer service (contact information HERE at the bottom of the page) when you have questions about items in stock and anticipated shipping dates.

Gorgeous! She looks too young to be graduating college! Love how you did the flowers–did you score the petals, or fan fold them? They are so pretty. How about a Tut on them, if you haven’t already? The color is awesome, too.ReplyCancel

Two things are now on my “to do” list. First, I need to order one of your new dies. Second, I need to go to Ikea. I happen to have a number of photos that I actually took out of the clunky table frames they were in hoping I would find something more befitting to my Shabby Chic bedroom. This will be perfect! You are always so inspiring. However slow you may think you go… I don’t know how you manage to do so much! (P.S. I knew immediately that the photo was of your very own lovely daughter… couldn’t be anyone else.)ReplyCancel

    Hello Becca.
I think the framed picture of your daughter is really so pretty and she is even prettier. You did a fantastic job of fixing it up and making it real.. You must feel so happy that she’s completed college and has an education to give her a step up for her future. It’s always a concern when you have children and feel concerns for their future.
Your work grows more beautiful by the day.
Wishing you continued success and joy.
