Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Grate Effect and Oval Majesty - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi there friends Happy Spring!  I’ve been absent again but this time I was knee deep in designing new dies!  Immersed is not the word for what was going on in my studio but you’ll be tickled when you see what’s coming this fall.  My head is absolutely exploding with ideas so sometimes I just have to sit down and work them out.  I’m back tho’ and can I just say how much I missed you!!   Hopefully going forward I’ll be able to space out my design time so I ‘m not gone for so long.    I’ve had a stack of almost finished cards calling my name so I just wanted to pop in and share one today.  As you know, I like to look at a die from all angles to figure out what else it can be used for.  So I have some new dies to show today and right off the bat, I’m going to cut them up to extend their use.  I had no idea how much I loved ovals but when I go back over my stash  I see them again and again. Spellbinders Oval Majesty is a new oval in the mix so I used it double duty today.  I used it to make corner pockets at the bottom of my card and then again as a layer under my sentiment.  I’ve thrown in a picture below just to show you how easy and different it was to make the pockets.Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Grate Effect and Oval Majesty - www.amazingpapergrace.com
I was enticed by the new Spellbinders Grate Effect background and put some pretty design paper behind it to create a 5 1/2″ x 7-1/2″.  On top of that I layered Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty Five followed by Spellbinders Oval Majesty and Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM.   You all know by now that these sweet romantic colors are mine through and through – I’ve tried not to reach for them, but I’m lying to myself when I don’t.  I encourage you to change up your colors, these are only suggestions.

I hope your day is glorious on this first day of Spring.  I’ve been cooped up in the house for weeks now and and as soon as I hit send on this post I’m putting on my sneakers to go take a walk though the neighborhood.  Please know I’m sending you much love and joy – you are all dear friends and I’m so, so happy to be chatting with you again.   I’ll be back in a day or so!  Mwah!!

Hi there friends!  I have another card to share today made with goodies from the new releases this week with JustRite Papercrafts.  I’m using Extended Family Large Fancy Sentiments and paired it up with Large Fancy Sentiments.  They work perfectly together and the Extended Family set does just that – it gives you more of your Family that you can use with Large Fancy Sentiments.

Birthday Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Justrite Papercraft Stacking Sentiment and Spellbinders Victorian Medallion Three - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi friends, wow, this has been a busy week!  This week also marks a new release for JustRite Papercraft and today we’re sharing creations made with Stacking Sentiments and A2 Woodgrained Upcycled Frame Background Stamp.   I zeroed in on the Stacking Sentiments and found there are so many ways to change them around to get a tall sentiment to your liking.  For my card today I created a diecut background using 9 of the center pieces from Spellbinders Victorian Medallion Three.  To embellish I used Spellbinders Pierced Squares and added a smaller frame using Spellbinders Classic Squares LGSpellbinders Classic Squares SM.   Spellbinders 5 x 7 Mystical Embrace was tall enough to accommodate two of the stacked sentiments.  I finished off with flowers made from Spellbinders Urban Blooms and embellished with Spellbinders Foliage Flourish. This card is a little larger than my norm, at 6-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ and will call for a custom envelope with my Envelope Punch Board.
Birthday Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Justrite Papercraft Stacking Sentiment and Spellbinders Victorian Medallion Three - www.amazingpapergrace.com
I love adding detail and textures with dies and it was so easy with the 9 cut pieces.  Keep in mind that this, like my other designs, can be simplified.  These are only suggestions but it’s very likely you already have squares and other basics like flourishes in your stash.  I just have to say that this flower has become a staple in my repertoire and I make lots of them at the same time – you’ll see them popping up all over the place and many of you have asked for a tutorial – I’ll be adding that tutorial soon!!

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite Papercraft – Stacking Sentiments
Craft Paper: Coredinations, Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Amuse Studio – Heather
Accessories:  Spellbinders Victorian Medallion Three,  Spellbinders Pierced Squares, Spellbinders Classic Squares LGSpellbinders Classic Squares SM,  Spellbinders 5 x 7 Mystical Embrace, Spellbinders Urban Blooms, Clear Embossing Powder, Sewology Buttons, Recollection Pearls, Leaf Pins

The JustRite Designers had a chance to play with these delightful sets – be sure to stop by and see what they dreamed up.

What are you working on these days?  Cards, Scrapbook Pages? or something else crafty?  I’d love to hear.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I have a romantic card with sweet words coming up tomorrow – I hope you’ll peek in to see.

Low this Becca. I marvel at how you combine so many different dies and make some thing so divine. You are a talent. I am working on Easter cards at the moment although I’ve just made a card for my friend who is getting a puppy this weekend, a border collie called Meg so I’ve been stamping paw prints! But what sentiment to use caused a bit of thinking about…. In the end I settled for Hello Meg. Not very original but it does what it says on the tin! Thanks for sharingReplyCancel

Love how you have created such a beautiful background using the medallion three die. Just made such a yummalicious background!!! Thanks for sharing your creative eye with us. You are the “Queen” of die manipulation and such a fabulous asset to the Spellbinder world Becca. I know that I would not have turned into such a spellbinder junkie over the years, if it had not been for you sharing the oh so many ways to use each new die that comes out. And, I am positive that I am not the only one, but that there are a hundred plus behind me that also swear by Spellbinder dies due to your creativeness in using these dies. Warm hugs and much appreciation from this loyal long time follower.

    Hi Becca,

I was wondering what you had used for the beautiful decorative background, so lacy looking. Wonderful elements you have added, I love the beads in the center of the flowers, so pretty. Loving the sentiments too.

Thumbs-up on that card and double thumbs-up on a tutorial for that flower! I have been trying to recreate that flower and getting NOWHERE…. Becca, take pity on us and do that tutorial right away! Well, at least as soon as possible… Or, maybe, as soon as you can? Or, right after all the other zillions of things we know you have to do? Well, at least, when you get a chance? Yah… I really need that flower in my repertoire and I will give you all the credit for its gorgeousness. Sigh…..ReplyCancel

So pretty Becca and I love the colors.
I just finished 2 projects that have been on my table forever. They were inspired by Tim Holtz and just are adorable. Of course they will be for the next Christmas holiday season as they took way too long for the last one.
