Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design - Always Be My Friend and Spellbinders Oval Regalia and Spellbinders Romantic Agenda - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning friends!  Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!  I had a couple of new dies that I’ve been “die-ing” to play with so I created a friendship card to share.  I love the Quietfire Design sentiment – Those who find a faithful friend have found a treasure from the Always Be My Friend Collection.  I stamped it directly onto my design paper – I love to do that – I wanted some of the roses from the design paper to peek out from underneath the lacy curves of Spellbinders Oval Regalia – a beautiful die cut that just begs for pearls in my humble opinion. :-)
Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design - Always Be My Friend and Spellbinders Oval Regalia and Spellbinders Romantic Agenda - www.amazingpapergrace.com
My card base measures 6-1/2 inches wide by 5-1/4 inches tall.  The bottom of each layer is cut using Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One.  I used Bracket Border on my card base, my cream layer and my design paper layer that is matted with the same shape in lavender paper.  Then over top of everything I used Spellbinders Romantic Agenda as a belly band – it’s backed with the same lavender paper.  I didn’t want to cover that beauty up so I tucked a small multiloop bow underneath it.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  Quietfire Design, Always Be My Friend Collection
Craft Paper
:  Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb smooth, Papertrey Ink – Lavender Moon
Ink:  Versafine – Onyx Black
Accessories:  Spellbinders Oval Regalia, Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One, Spellbinders Romantic Agenda,  May Arts Silk Ribbon, Recollection Pearls, clear embossing powder, pearl button

Stay warm friends!  It’s even below freezing where I live so I know it’s cold up north!  Isn’t it a perfect day for drinking hot chocolate, throwing on your thick wool socks, snagging your favorite blankie and crafting the day away?  Make it so!   Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you soon.

Becca, you know how some art pieces make you go “Wow!” And some make your heart resonate? This card did both for me…just outstanding.

My question: on the belly band, my assumption is that you ran the die through with lavender paper with an embossing pad? I’m curious about the myriad of small, perfectly placed dots…did you do those by hand? The result is stunning…however that came into being.

    Thanks for this one…

What did you do to raise the very delicate oval? Tiny little bit of foam? Also the brand of printed paper. Mothers Day Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Blooming Collection - see www.amazingpapergrace.com for full supply list
Sweet friends I hope you have a fabulous day in store for you today.  As promised there is a winner for the Artisan X-plorer offered on my blogaversary – name shown at the end of this post.  In the meantime I have a romantic card to share today that stands in line to be used for Mothers Day but can also be used for birthday and for friendship.
Mothers Day Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Blooming Collection - see www.amazingpapergrace.com for full supply list
I love the delicateness of the square die template I picked to fill the body of the card – Spellbinders Blooming Collection, it’s open and it’s airy and it gave me lots of room to play around as well as the feminine feel I was looking for.  Next I added Spellbinders Fancy Label Tags Four and raised it with foam tape.  Then I added the cut out of Spellbinders Silhouette until I realized that the negative of the Silhouette die looked much better – I cut it out with Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM and mounted it with foam tape.  To finish, I popped on a the “with love” sentiment from Spellbinders Sentiments Three.
Mothers Day Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Blooming Collection - see www.amazingpapergrace.com for full supply list
I’ve now learned that when I sit down to make flowers, I should make lots of them at one sitting.  Yes, it seems hard to find the time, but that day usually ends up being one where nothing else is falling together and I feel creatively exhausted.  So, from the stash I created a week or two ago, came these flowers made using Spellbinders Urban Blooms.

congratulations are in order for the winner!! I absolutely love this card. I dont have a mother but could send it to some special friends and aunts for mothers day. Everything about it is stunning. I do have some questions about the metallic paper and the Neenah paper you use. If you have time send me a line to let me know where to get it and exactly what I am looking for.

    Hi Becca,
Another beautiful card – and yes, the silhouette is much more pretty than the die cut (I think, too).
At the end of a really busy, discordant day I thought “what can I do to come down from the feeling of fight and aggression” (unfortunately unavoidable in this instance) and there was the brainwave – look my favourites’ blogs – you, Sue Wilson and Kate Lycett. AND IT WORKS, so thank you Becca.

Becca I love your beautiful cards and the detail work. I recently bought some of the spell binders intricate dies wanting to make my card prettier, but I am having trouble getting them to cut all the way through. I have a Cuttlebug I use and the sides will cut fine but the top and bottom will not cut all the way. I put shims under those areas, over the whole area, but still not cutting. What else do I need to do? What am I doing wrong?ReplyCancel

I know it can’t be made from standard 12×12 or 8 1/2 x 11 so can you tell me how to cut my cardstock and piece it together to make the dies fit on the finished card. Thank you in advance for your help.ReplyCancel

Mothers Day Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Best Wishes, Bold Vines, Spellbinders Fleur Essence - more details at www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi there blog friends!  Today I’m sharing a Mothers Day card made with two new sets from JustRite Papercraft, Best Wishes and the Bold Vines Background.  I love the soft cascading flowers in the set and I pulled out my distress inks to lay on a little bit of color for a watercolored look – easy peasy and definitely my kind of easy laid back coloring!
Mothers Day Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Best Wishes, Bold Vines, Spellbinders Fleur Essence - more details at www.amazingpapergrace.com
My card has a 5-1/2″ – 7-1/2″  base.  I started out with two borders cut with Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One and layered a white stamped panel on top.  The next pink panel is heat embossed with white and I cut the center oval out using Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG.   I framed the oval with two of the watercolored sprigs and finally embellished with Spellbinders Fleur Essence, pearls and ribbon :-)

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite Papercraft – Best Wishes, Bold Vines Background
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Solar White 80lb smooth, Papertrey Ink – Sweet Blush
Ink:  Victorian Velvet Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One, Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG, Spellbinders Fleur Essence, The Paper Studio Pearls, Offray Satin Ribbon, Mulberry Flowers

The JustRite Designers had a chance to play with these delightful sets – be sure to stop by and see what they dreamed up.

By the way, JustRite Papercraft is having a couple of noteworthy sales this week :-)

hi Becca, how beautiful is your card, it looks perfect and the colours are so perfect for a loving mum, or mom as you say. Unfortunately mine is no longer around, but I do make them for my church so they can help others by buying them, and the profits go over to Africa so that moms over there can provide for their children.
