Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design and Spellbinders Labels 39 - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning friends!  Today I’m sharing a Christmas card with you using a brand new, beautiful sentiment from Quietfire Design!  Oh goodness, it’s beautifully penned by Suzanne Cannon and commands center stage on the card.  I thought that the elegance of her script called for a traditional card so I reached for the deep red, forest green and gold.  For my layers I used Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One, Spellbinders Labels Thirty Nine and the oval from Spellbinders Filigree Delight.

WRBF-4454-2014
I started out with a 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ card base and added a layer of design paper with a text design.  Next I added green design paper and cut Bracket Borders One on each end.   The sentiment is stamped on the oval from Filigree Delight then stacked on top of Labels Thirty Nine and then finally stacked onto Floral Ovals.  Slowly but surely I am adding to my stash of cards for Christmas and this beautiful sentiment is a great addition to my collection of Christmas sayings:-)

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps Quietfire Design – Christmas Waves a Magic Wand
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb Smooth, Simple Stories, Gold Paper, Velvet Paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories Spellbinders Floral OvalsSpellbinders A2 Bracket Borders OneSpellbinders Labels Thirty Nine and the oval from Spellbinders Filigree DelightThe Paper Studio Pearls, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Tiny Prima Flowers

How are you coming on your Christmas cards?  Do you space them out over time or are you a last minute Lucy?  Lol, I’m a little of both – I space them out until I realize how close we are to the date, then I panic and the frenzy starts!  Thanks so much for stopping by friends, I’ll see you soon!!

Absolutely beautiful as usual! Christmas cards are my favorite so I make them over time. I’m down to sending 85 cards (from 125) and like to get them out on “Black Friday”. I make about a dozen “special” cards and this year they will be (my version of) Becca cards… Thank you for your continued inspiration! Your humble follower – LeslieReplyCancel

Stunning work here as always Becca. I love your beautiful card here today.
I must confess, that I´m one pof those last minutes almost every year, even I decide to get started early, it just never happens, as there´s always soo much else, I need to do first, and suddenly it´s that time again LOL:
Have a wonderful week ahead now and lots of fun.ReplyCancel

Love this – classy and classic – well I haven’t made a CCard yet in 2014 but I have been planning and buying all the bits n bobs – the sun is out here today on the last day of September so it’s been a day of outdoor ‘must do jobs before the weather turns’ . I have 7 female bday cards, 1 male bday card and 1 wedding anniversary card to do before I am then free to concentrate solely on Ccards. My target is to complete those by end of November – we shall see….! Thanks for sharing and inspiring –ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca
WOW ! i am loving all your Christmas cards all so classy , i count how many C Cards i need then space them out throughout the year upto the end of August , then it leaves me my 12 special boxed cards that take me longer of course .

Another stunning card but this time with a stunning verse too. All your verses/sentiments are beautiful but this particularly, unusual and very elegant.

Love the traditional colours of Christmas on this one. Great use of dies.

I am not a “last minute Lucy,” but I don’t usually work on them throughout the year either! LOL I like to find a set I like & make them all the same–working so I am not in a frenzy. That way I don’t repeat one for someone in the following years! But, I have been doing one every-so-often for challenges this year. ( I have done some in the past too.) I have let our daughter have those & any others I have extra for her friends in the past. It makes her happy!!!

Your card is LOVELY BECCA!!! I LOVE the “traditional” colors & the GOLD!!! :D SPECTACULAR! And your sentiment is LOVELY TOO!!!!!!!!:DReplyCancel

Another stunning creation, Becca. The traditional colours are so lovely and classy.
I’m always behind with my Christmas card making, but it’s because we have a big building project on at Church, so I have to make a few hundred cards for fund raising. I always get to do mine last lol!
It has been a beautiful autumnal day here across the pond and I have sat in the garden adding foam pads to the backs of the nativity toppers I am making this year. I work in batches, so it was the turn of the shepherds today, wise men yesterday, the Holy Family tomorrow and angels on Thursday! I pre-stamp the greetings and score tram lines for decoration, then add the toppers and Stickles before bagging them the following day. My lounge is full of Christmas cards drying :o)
I WILL get to do mine soon lol!

I’m a traditional Christmas colors gal so this card appealed to me. I love the deep rich colors and the dies you used. For me, I’m trying to get up to speed with all the October cards, about 12. And always making a stash for sympathy cards for the different seasons of the year. I make many similar cards for those thank you’s to the delivery man, mail man etc. Those are done. But the regular sized cards I use the same colors but lots of different combinations. Found out for me this was the way to go to get them done. I do make specialty cards for family or friends that are close and those I haven’t even thought up yet! Therefore, when Oct’s are done I am hot to get crackin on the wonderful Season of celebrating our Saviors birth.ReplyCancel

Gorgeous card Becca. The floral oval die is one of my favourites and the one I seem to use the most for my sentiments. Love the colour scheme of your card and as I have all the ingredients I will certainly try and recreate this card. I made a bundle of Christmas cards last year so had quite a lot left over so I am hoping I don’t have too many more to make for this year but I am leaving it quite late to start. There are so many birthdays in September and October for me. I must get more organised. Take care xxReplyCancel

Afternoon Becca, This card is stunning, lovely colours and fabulous die-cuts.
I don’t even want to think about ‘C’ cards yet haha, I must admit I like to hang on to Summertime as long as I can, and there is always work to be done in the garden, so my ‘C’ cards are always done in December, when all the outside jobs are over, but I really love to get inspiration from all the Christmas cards you show, and hopefully I can incorporate some or your ‘magic’ into mine.
Lots of love from Patricia xxReplyCancel

Gorgeous card. Great colors…perfect for the sentiment. I make cards throughout the year for all the holidays, and usually have extras here and there. So I check my stash, and make up the rest, usually a month prior.ReplyCancel

  • Mary H.October 1, 2014 - 6:48 pm

These rich colors are my favorite of the Christmas colors I think. Love the way you’ve layered all these luscious dies, but I’m especially impressed with the way you’ve used the bracket borders. I shall be trying this idea, as I’ve only done it as a single border either at the bottom or side of a card. It’s really a grand design motif the way you have it on this green. LOVE it! TFS & Blessings.ReplyCancel

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps Snowflake Die
Good morning friends!  Today is release day for Waltzingmouse Stamps  and three new sets are now available – Little Deer, Warm Fuzzies and Frosty In the Meadow as well as a series of snowflake dies.  You can see them in full HERE.  For the blog hop today please know you can always get your bearings by popping over to the Waltzingmouse Blog, otherwise if you’ve just come from Tosha’s blog, you’re in the right place and at the end of my post I’ll give you a link to the next stop on the hop.  My cards today use positive and negative cuts from the new Snowflake die.   I created a card base with Spellbinders Modern Stationary.  For the focal panel I centered the Snowflake 1 die  at the top center as I cut another panel with the Modern Stationary die.  This card will will fit in an A2 envelope as it measures 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″.

For my second card (5-1/4″ x 7-1/2″) I used three layers of the die.  The die is quite intricate, I cut it and threaded silk ribbon though it on the vertical while I layered up separate pieces of the die. Below the snow flake I embossed a Merry Christmas sentiment on vellum from the Seasonal Flourish set and backed it with the Picot Edge Die.Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps Snowflake Die

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps Warm Fuzzies and Spellbinders Oval Bliss - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Happy weekend!!  For those of you eager to see the winner of the clear cases (or alternative international gift) the winner is listed at the end of my post.  On a regular note, welcome back to day three of  Waltzingmouse Stamps September 2014 Release previews.  The Waltzingmouse Stamps set we’re showing today is Warm Fuzzies and I have a red and cream card using the sweet sentiments from the set.  Please don’t ask what’s going on with me and red or me and gold because I simply can’t explain it :-)  I think part of the allure is that I finally figured out how to photograph them without them looking crazy.  Red is so bright and I normally like muted tones but I hope you’ll indulge me through this phase.
Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps Warm Fuzzies and Spellbinders Oval Bliss - www.amazingpapergrace.com
I created a 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ card with the main focal part being Spellbinders Oval Bliss.  Two ovals are used and I offset one so that you could see the red through the cream openings – I love that look!  On top of the two offset ovals I created an oval frame using Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG #5 and  Spellbinders Grand Ovals #1 – it just adds so much dimension to the card.  I stamped one of the sentiments in red and embossed with clear embossing powder and the second sentiment I stamped and embossed on a strip of paper, folded and cut the pennant ends by hand.  Lastly the sweet snowflakes (I know, red?) were Waltzingmouse SVG files (available this month with each set).  I stamped and clear embossed them and strung them on a piece of twine to hang over the pennant.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps Waltzingmouse Stamps – Warm Fuzzies (Available 9/28)
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest, Natural White, Smooth 80 lb Cardstock, Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy, My Minds Eye – All is Bright
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, MementoLuxe – Love Letter
Accessories:  Spellbinders Oval Bliss, Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG #5, Spellbinders Grand Ovals #1Lace, Red Satin Ribbon – Studio His and Hers, Darice Pearls, Twine, Clear Embossing Powder

The other ladies have come up with some stunning ideas for these whimsical sets.  I hope you’ll take a second to visit and see what they made today!

Congrata to the winner! Love this card – especially that oval – divine – I have this set on pre-order but they are not released over here (UK) for a bit so I’ll have to be patient – I’ll be trying a variant of this card though when they arrive – love it.ReplyCancel

Red is amazing, so using red on ANY card is OK by me, but on Christmas cards…well it’s just a ‘must do’! I reckon this beautiful card kind of proves my point really. LOL xxxxReplyCancel

Lovely card Becca. Can I ask what width ribbon you have used?
I do like a basic white and red colour for Christmas cards and the sentiment is really fun.ReplyCancel
