Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Sentiments 4 and Grateful Lattice
Good morning friends!  Die cut words are everywhere so today, I decided to put some I have in my stash to use!  I absolutely love them and they make for a quick card – no stamping this time around.  The set I’m using is Spellbinders Sentiments 4.  I imagine these would be fabulous on a little set of cards you send to someone and they could attach which ever words were appropriate for the occasion.  Just daydreaming out loud :-)

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Sentiments Four and Grateful Lattice

I used Spellbinders Grateful Lattice to create the background for the card.  Once cut, I flipped the die over to reveal the paper side and pulled the diecut out of the die.  The I placed a pop dot onto each of the normally thrown away pieces while still in the die and laid down a panel of paper on top of the sticky pop dots.   This allowed me to pull all the discards out of the die at one time adhered to a panel of paper – spaced perfectly!   I added lace, a flower and the jewels and bow to finish the design off!!

By the way, I’ve received a couple of questions about when the dies I’m using will be available.  So on each of the items, if you click through to the product, the shipping dates are listed with each product!  Hope that helps you all :-)

Lovely, lovely card. When I first saw the picture I immediately thought: “What patience and precision gluing all of those little pieces so perfectly!!!!!” But then, I read how you did it and I think it’s the most clever, amazing, incredible way to use this die!!! This is a wonderful way to use all the little pieces that, like you said, would land in the trash and end up with a gorgeous, unique card.

And thanks so much for the great tips about adding the pop dots BEFORE removing it from the die. I have been trying to assemble these on a card once, but took them one by one, and that´s NOT a good way of doing, and I admit, I never even thought of this back then, but now I´m going to try again and do it the right way he he

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Diagonal Chevron and Labels 42 Decorative Accents
Hi there friends!  As always, I’m working on stuff in the background but took a moment have a look at what’s new in my stash.  I  was so inspired by this Wordsworth sentiment I’ve had on hand and it reminded me of the new Spellbinders Diagonal Chevron I had laying on the table.  It’s very contemporary but in cardmaking I feel strongly that there are no rules – go where ever your heart takes you!  I thought that this template was a great opportunity to show some design paper so I cut the die template, flipped it over, placed Glossy Accents on the the back of the pieces that would normally fall out but then laid a piece of gold paper on top and let it dry.  Once dry, I took off the die template then removed the diecut and the leftover pieces stayed glued to the gold paper.  The small sentiment is popped up on Spellbinders Labels 42 – Decorative Accents and Spellbinders Classic Squares LG.
Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Diagonal Chevron and Labels 42 Decorative Accents

See my tiny bows?  Yep, I didn’t want to cover up too much of that pretty background :-)  I embellished the bottom of the card with Spellbinders Corners and Accents One.

Here’s how I made it – step by step:

  1. Create a card base with cream card stock that measures 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″.  (Card base is made with two pieces of 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″‘ paper scored and glued as in this Hinge Video.)
  2. With print paper, cut a panel 5″ x 6-7/8″ and mat it with a gold panel cut to 5-1/8″ x 7″.  Adhere with print paper on top.
  3. With cream paper cut emboss outside border from Diagonal Chevron and mat it with a gold panel cut to 4-3/8″ x 5-5/8″.  Adhere to previous layer with foam tape.
  4. With floral design paper cut/emboss Diagonal Chevron, flip die template over so back is face up and place Glossy Accents on the fall out die pieces.  Cover with a gold panel cut to 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ pull off main die cut and fall out pieces should remain glued down to gold paper. Adhere to previous layer with foam tape.
  5. Wrap ribbon and lace vertically on right side of card, taping on back.  Adhere grouping to card base.
  6. Cut/emboss Labels 42 – Decorative Accents and adhere to upper left corner using foam tape.
  7. Stamp sentiment on cream paper then cut/emboss with Classic Squares LG #4, rim with gold Krylon pen.  Adhere square directly to Labels 42 – Decorative Accents
  8. Cut/emboss Corners and Accents One and adhere to bottom of card
  9. Attach bow, add Pearls.

Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design Always Be My Friend and Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance
Greetings friends!  Mercy, this has been a week that has kept the mailman on his toes.  I’m not complaining; I love it when I get happy mail and oh my, has it ever been happy.  Of course you’ll get to see everything, including new Spellbinders, as I get them made up into projects.   One of the sets that showed up was this new red mounted rubber friendship set from Quietfire Design.  I don’t know if you remember last month I  used a beautiful friendship saying One cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed – this one is just as lovely.  I have all sorts of friendships stamps but few that say what I’m feeling is in such a special way.  This one is called Always Be My Friend.

Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design Always Be My Friend and Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance

So yes, I’m sporting shiny new Spellbinders die templates :-)  This romantic combination of Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance, Spellbinders Labels Thirty Nine and Spellbinders Corners and Accents One fit perfectly with the sentiment in more ways than one!

Here’s how I made it – step by step:

  1. Create a card base with cream card stock that measures 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″.  (Card bases is made with two pieces of 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″‘ paper scored and glued as in this Hinge Video.)  Smudge all card edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
  2. With polka dot paper, cut a panel 5″ x 6-7/8″ and mat it with a dark brown panel cut to 5-1/8″ x 7″.  Adhere with polka dot on top.
  3. Wrap ribbon and lace vertically on left side of card, taping on back.  Adhere grouping to card base.
  4. Cut/emboss Fleur de Elegance with cream cardstock – ink emboss through opening with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
  5. Cut/emboss Labels Thirty Nine with design paper, rim with Krylon Pen and adhere to card with double foam tape.
  6. Cut/emboss two of the slotted elements from Fleur de Elegance, one cream and one gold.
  7. Stamp sentiment on cream element and cut gold element in half vertically then mount behind cream stamped element.  Adhere to card with double foam tape.
  8. Cut/emboss Corners and Accents medium sized piece and glue to top right corner.
  9. Attach bow to left corner of card.  Add Flowers and Pearls.
