Card Making Ideas using Waltzingmouse Stamps Fine Feathers and Spellbinders Mystical Embrace and Divine Eloquence
Good morning blog friends.  Don’t forget I have some blog candy over on my post of March 1st  – you can still enter until midnight on March 4th.  In the mean time I have a card to share with some feathery goodness using the Fine Feathers set from Waltzingmouse Stamps, I’m also over on the Waltzingmouse Inspiration blog today.   Feathers are so trendy right now.   I’ve seen lots of clean and simple card with feathers. As I sat down to arrange, I wanted to see if I could take the feathers and glam them up with layers and pearls.WRBF-4158-2014
I reached over and pulled the Fine Feathers Cut Files because I’m just no good at fussy cutting.  Second to the cream color I love to create with is the mocha reminiscent of a great cup of coffee – it’s a tad bit dressier than kraft paper.  By cutting the feathers and sentiments and nestling them on a mocha background, they pop off the page.   On my 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ card base I layered Spellbinders 5 x 7 Mystical Embrace followed by Spellbinders A2 Divine Eloquence.  It made an excellent backdrop for my stamped and cut feathers and sentiment.  I finished up by adding a bow and some pearls. I get my tiny pearls from Hobby Lobby and was able to just pull off one entire line and run them along the vein of the feather for a cool embellishment.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED

A well organized studio helps me to create. I can and many times do create on a table that is a mess but when I begin a project I like for my work area to be clean and ready to go. If I have my dies and stamps well organized then I’m more likely to use a variety of things on my shelf. Thanks for the opportunity to well some cases and liners.ReplyCancel

Ever since I have found your website I have been so inspired
by your talent and could only hope to be able to create to
a level that would make you realize just how you give people
the confidence to make cards that make them feel like they can
do things at least as half as good as you do them.

Also, to find ways to organize yourself is a definite plus and will
keep the process of card making a whole lot easier.ReplyCancel

  • Elsie HaynesMarch 2, 2014 - 5:27 am

Thanks for the opportunity to get more cases. I too keep my dies in the cases like you do. I have a spreadsheet for the dies, organized by company, then numbered.

I organize my stamps in them as well (cling and unmounted wooden stamps). I stamp the stamps into a binder that is organized by type (flowers, birthday) and then put the number of the case on that sheet. That way I can thumb through the book and then go directly to the stamp I have chosen.

I also use Tapes OnLine for my cases. The cases always arrive promptly and in perfect condition.ReplyCancel

This is a really interesting storage idea. Right now I have a combination of things including SU’s new wood sized storage boxes. I have an old cd stand that holds my SU clear mount cases, but other clear sets, the poly stamps, are in original packing with all florals grouped into a plastic bag. Word sets are in another plastic bag. I have two stamp storage cabinets with plastic picture holders as drawers. They were originally designed for wood stamps, but I almost never buy wood. Right now I buy dies way more often than new stamps. You play with Opulent Ovals; I buy OO. You play with Radiant Rectangles; I buy RR. I really like your blog and lean tons.ReplyCancel

Good Morning, Becca, You Rock Girl! I have been a follower of yours ever since I found you a few years ago when I broke my ankle and two days prior I was diagnosed with breast cancer, among other health issues, making me immobile for 7 months, my iPad became my best friend! I loved how you used CDCases to store your dies, but I was still left wondering, “How’d she do that” (with the obstacles inside that holds the dies in place). I was not aware of any “plain” CD cases in the market place. I would really love to win. I would buy the dies and with my arthritic hands try to open the die case only to tear the plastic making jagged edges, now I just squeeze open the top and pull them out. So that is my storage system today. It would be so important to me to win your unique organization kit. They would certainly be kind to my arthritic hands.
    Cordially,
    CindyReplyCancel

    Becca,
I know that every single one of us who are leaving comments would love to win this amazing blog candy that you are offering but I would probably be the happiest!! I am somewhat of an organizational freak and this would make me the Happiest girl in the whole USA (or world). I have almost gotten the rest of my craft room organized, labeled and sorted but my dies have had me stumped. I have been researching all the different ways that they can be stored and had pretty much decided to go this route until I saw the cost! UGH!!! Not in my budget unfortunately. This would definitely make it within my budget because I would only need to purchase a few more to have all my dies organized. Then my craft room would be
    D O N E ! ! !
Thank you so much for putting this awesome blog candy contest together and allowing so many of us to dream that we are the lucky recipient of these marvelous storage pieces!! I know that whoever the lucky winner is will be very appreciative and be doing a happy dance!! Hopefully that will be me!!!
Thank you for a chance to dream and maybe even realize that dream!!!!
    Have a great day!ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca.

I never thought about using clear CD cases for storing my rubber stamps.
I have been storing my stamps in the plastic containers that I purchased via stampin up. Then I’ve placed the plastic containers in rubber made bins. I will not tell you how many stamps I own and how many rubber made bins that I have purchased. Believe it or not, I do not have any more space. Excellent idea!! Thanks for sharing.ReplyCancel

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps - Gift Card It
Hi there blog friends!!  I’m excited today to be participating in the first Blog Hop for Waltzingmouse Stamps for 2014 and there’s a lot of gifty goodness to see today.   If you jumped in the middle of our list, the best way to make your way through the hop is to start at Claire’s Blog she has the complete sequence if you get out of order or if one of the links don’t work.   In order complete the hop, leave a comment on as many of the Design Team Members Blogs as you can as a random name is selected from each blog and then a final winner picked from those names. The winner will get a free stamp set of their choice from the Waltzingmouse Stamps store.  You have until March 2nd at 5:59 AM CST to leave your comment and then you can check on the Claire’s Blog on March 4th after 6am CST to see if you are a winner.  Stay tuned, below I’ll tell you your next stop along the hop!!WRBF-4155-2014
We all know what it’s like when you need to give a gift and aren’t quite sure what to give.  Me?  I’m the gift card queen but that’s definitely the kind of gift that needs to be dolled up to personalize it.  The new set today is Gift Card It and it has the sweetest sayings and embellies for a darling presentation!  My first project is a frilly ensemble for a gift card gift with an envelope (yes it really does fit inside).  The picture below is the envelope and the inside of the card.

WRBF-4152-2014
To make my card I used Spellbinders Elegant Ovals and for embellishment of the top layer I used Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.  On the inside I created a pocket using Elegant Ovals and cut it midway up using Spellbinders Labels Four.

WRBF-4153-2014
For my second project I custom dyed some fuchsia ribbon and went with a bright fushia and cream card with the lovely leaf border from the stamp set.  It was a “quick to put together” thank you card.  I stamped the frame from Gift Card it onto a layer cut with Spellbinders Curved Matting Basics B.  I used Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Two as a border.  I cut two to acommodate the height – I simply trimmed half of the edge off to give the border some symmetry then added the decorative piece from Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments between the two pieces to disguise where I cut.  Lastly I layered the filigree piece from A2 Tranquil Moments and added the small piece from Spellbinders 5 x 7 Heirloom Legacy on top.
