Becca Feeken Introduces Spellbinders A2 Valiant Honor with a Framed Victorian Fan
Thank you for joining me for the kick off of Spellbinders Diamond Anniversary. Throughout the week a host of designers will be revealing new Spellbinders Die Templates.  You’ll be the first to see a selection of the die templates being released by Spellbinders for 2014 and shown at the Craft and Hobby Association 2014 Mega Show. This tends to be a long post, but I hope you’ll stick with me all the way to the end where there will be a chance for you to win big prizes sponsored by Spellbinders.  Near the bottom of my post is the highlighted sweepstakes link – and don’t forget to leave a comment here on this blog post as well – it lets me know if I’m creating project you enjoy.

I’m tickled to introduce S5-217 A2 VALIANT HONOR.  This is a stunning set that works fabulously as part of the Card Creator system but also works spectacularly for other papercrafting uses and I’ve come up with three projects to show just that.  First up is my Framed Victorian Fan.  Over the years I’ve shown you several victorian fans because I love to make them, what a fabulous show piece to give as a gift and they are quite easy.  The delicate pieces of this filigreed set seem to lend themselves so perfectly to be the staves of my fan.  I came up with two ways to make the fan, the first as if you are going to mount it into a frame and the second is a real working fan that opens and closes with each stave equally spaced – I’ll show you how to run a thread through the staves to secure them.

Today we’re going to make the Framed Victorian Fan – here are the supplies I used.

My next project is an Anniversary Celebration Book.  It can be given as is, or can be used as a brag book to put special sayings, memories or pictures.  I love giving Anniversary Cards and such because I find that people keep them for the memories.  For that reason, it’s a project you can fuss over and lavish with lots of love.

Becca Feeken Introduces Spellbinders A2 Valiant Honor with a Anniversary Celebration Book

With six pages placed back to back and a covered accordian binding, the outside is chipboard covered with gold paper.  The book is embellished with a silk ribbon bow where the tendrils are adorned with glass pearls and topped off with a gold button.

Here are the sayings on the six pages, each stamped and embossed with detail gold.

OK, I am back again….I was so stunned with the beauty of these projects I could only leave a small comment and now after looking more detailed and checking the supply lists I do have questions….could you explain further about the accordion clip? Is it a specific item and how is it attached? This detail gold embossing on the book is amazing, will I find it on the Ranger site? And what specifically did you use to cover the chipboard covers of the book? Needless, to say we may need a tutorial on the book also. I wondered about the distances between your Christmas projects but you were a VERY busy girl, Miss Becca, indeed! These are utterly amazing! Am I still stammering? I think I am…ReplyCancel

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Friendship Vintage Labels Seven, Heirloom Die One, Curved Borders Two and Elegant Labels Four
Hi there blog friends!   Today I’m sharing two cards made using my new sets at JustRite Papercrafts; Friendship Vintage Labels Seven  and Tulip Damask Background and a recently released a one piece die called Heirloom Flourish Die One.  I knew the die would come in handy for embellishment but today I’m showing how it looks when you create a border or frame with the die.  You get a different look/shape depending on the way you flip the the edges.

WRBF-4068-2014
On the card above I have two of the bracket edges on the inside and two on the outside.  I picked two overlapping areas of the filigree and glued them using Ranger Glossy Accents.  Once the frame is glued, I layered it over Spellbinders Elegant Labels Four and embellished the bottom of my panel using Spellbinders Curved Borders Two.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite Papercraft – Friendship Vintage Labels Seven
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Natural White 80lb Cardstock, Pink Paislee
Ink: Amuse – French Roast
Accessories: Heirloom Flourish Die One Vintage Labels Seven, Spellbinders Elegant Labels Four,  Spellbinders Curved Borders Two, Recollection Pearls, Sewology Button, Prima Flower, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine

Card Making ideas by Becca Feeken using Friendship Vintage Labels Seven and Heirloom Flourish One, Lacey Tiers and Vintage Sentiment Tag
On my second card I created a frame using Heirloom Flourish Die One and the square shape from Lacey Tiers.  Again I matched up the corners of the die and glued with Glossy Accents – this time all of the brackets are facing the inside and the resulting shape is a square frame.  I stamped my sentiment from Friendship Vintage Labels Seven onto the Vintage Sentiment Tag Die and nestled it inside the frame.  All this is mounted on a background stamped using the Tulip Damask Background.

Oh, I love these cards. (Well, I love all your cards but…) I love these cards. The die cut layers are exquisite. The first card is gorgeous. I love the pearl accents and the scalloped die cut that is on the bottom with the dark paper underneath. Perfect touch. The second card also blew me away. I love how you tucked the label under the die cut layers. Wonderful framing on both cards. The colors and patterns are perfect. Touch of the master.ReplyCancel

Love it! I had to chuckle when I saw this card. Recently, I purchased new bed linens and this morning I redressed the bedroom with new textiles and decor items. The new look is so similar to the card you posted today. When I opened your post, my first thought was “That would look beautiful in a frame on the table next to the bed.” Then, I was hopeful there would be a chance to win this card.

Your art and the words on the card are wonderful. I plan to bookmark this post so I can see it often. Maybe I will stand the iPad next to the bed with a close-up of this post. Lol. Modern version of a famed card.ReplyCancel
