Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Papercrafts Time Flies and Spellbinders
Hi there friends.  I’m elbow deep in new Spellbinders Die Templates :-)  Swoon!  We get to play around with all the new stuff for a bit before they are released and I just have to say that you will love, love, love what’s coming.  January 6th will kick off the new previews; it’s not that far away so mark your calendar and be sure to come and see what I’ve been working on.   The other designers will have lovely eye candy as well!  In the meantime, I have a simple card to share today featuring a new collage background stamp called Time Flies Cling Background from JustRite Papercraft.  I wanted a tone on tone look so I stamped the collage with brown chalk ink then added shading with brown chalk and dark grey chalk in the shadows.

The layer of texture is made using the debossed side of Spellbinders Twisted Hearts, the top is embellished with Spellbinders Flourish Trim and three smallish flowers added to the bow using Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms.

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design - My Idea of a Perfect Christmas and Spellbinders
Hi there blog friends.  As much as we can’t wait for Christmas to come, can we please put on the brakes for just a minute?  I got up to Thanksgiving and the wheels came off…I’ve been travelling much of the last three weeks and am thankful to slow down and savor the sounds and feelings of Christmas.  That’s the blessing behind the little crafts we like to do – while we’re in the process of making and creating, it’s so nice to think about the recipient (and hum along to Christmas carols).  I took a moment to sit down and create another Christmas card with a sweet new set from Quietfire Design called My Idea of a Perfect Christmas.  The background is created using Spellbinders Botanical Swirls and Accents.  It’s topped off with Spellbinders Captivating Squares and Spellbinders Classic Squares LG.

  • Norah McPheeDecember 18, 2013 - 2:47 am

    Good morning Becca,
What a beautiful card you have made and i have everything except the patterned paper but i’ll substitute another for it. such a pretty card but i can’t tell you what is the best part as it all is. The corner die makes a beautiful rectangle with an aperture in the middle. The red of the card and the ribbon is a beautiful rich red so gives it a luxury, opulent look as opposed to a bright red which would ruin the whole card.
Looking forward to what you have in store for us.
The best part of this time is having time to go up to the big cities and into the shopping centers (malls) not to buy but look at all the beautiful lights and displays that make it a sight worth seeing. Go by public transport so you don’t have the hassle of trying to find a parking place. Then take your time looking at all the wonders that they have designed, have a cuppa and relax watching the world go bye. Enjoy. After spending a bit relaxing even if its just for half a day, its amazing what is acheiveable.
    Have a great time
    Love and crafty hugs

    Good morning Becca,
Your card reminds me of victorian cards it both the colours and style which were both beautiful and stylish. It is quite different from your normal cards that i have seen of yours, but still pretty.
    Love and crafty hugs
