Card making ideas by Becca Feeken using *new* Heirloom Flourish One Die along with Spellbinders Labels Sixteen and Elegant Labels Four
Hi there blog friends!  Today I’m joining in on the JustRite Papercraft December new release Blog Hop.  I’m kind of excited because today they are showing one of my new dies and one of my new stamps sets.  My first card uses a nice flourish die called Heirloom Flourish Die One that I designed  and JustRite Papercraft is now carrying.  This is a small single die and it’s nice on your wallet too . . . I used it to embellish other dies in my stash for a ‘new look’ – you know what I mean :-)   It adds such an elegant touch to the clean classic Spellbinders Elegant Labels Four Spellbinders Labels Sixteen and Spellbinders Rose Creations I used in my card.

Here’s your Step By Step Recap of die cuts and layers, from the bottom up:  Start out with a Green Card Base  6″ tall by 6″ wide, foam tape, kraft matting layer cut to design paper matting layer cut to 5-3/4″ x 5-3/4″, design paper layer cut to 5-5/8″ x 5-5/8″, foam tape, die cut layers using Elegant Labels Four (cut a sliver out of middle to make panel 5-1/4″ tall). foam tape, die cut layer using Labels Sixteen, die cut layer using labels Heirloom Flourish Die One.  The three buds are made using Rose Creations.  As always, cut everything first then stack.  Position ribbon, pearls and bow on correct layer, admire, then glue!

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Elegant Celebrations along with Spellbinders Curved Borders and Corner Flourish
For my second card I’m using Elegant Celebrations, it has a lovely border and wide one and two liner sentiments that fit in several dies as well as across the bottom of your card.  So many people ask me to point out samples they can use for Anniversary Cards – it’s the most requested card by my readers, so I created this set.  My 31st wedding anniversary would have been the day before yesterday so while I was making the sample I sure thought of what sweet things I could say.   I hope you’ll enjoy – you’d be pressed to find these sweet sentiments elsewhere – you can preview the new sets HERE.  For this card I reached for Spellbinders Curved Borders Two, Spellbinders Corner Flourish and Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags One.

Hi, Becca. I just received Radiant Rectangles and Enhancing Elements Rectangles One. I was wondering if there was anywhere on your site where you show combinations of dies to layer. I know I can pore over every Crafts I Used section of your entry, but thought I could ask if there is a faster way to find out what layers well together. I know that I can cut a sample of every rectangle die I own and play with layering, but then I don’t know what to add to fill in the gaps. Is my question clear? Am I making any sense?

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps - A Cottage Christmas
Good morning blog friends.  Today I’m blogging here and on the Waltzingmouse Inspiration Blog with a little project for you that will keep you in the good graces for those last minute gift swaps.  Sometime after I’ve mailed Christmas cards I like to make a couple of little ones – 3-1/2” square or a little bit larger – and I keep them by the door so that when someone comes to the door with an unexpected gift, I have something on the ready to drop into a goodie bag that I have for just that occasion.  I just knew that A Cottage Christmas would be the perfect embellishment for my little card box.  I took a piece of corrugated paper and created a box bottom 2” high and used clear acetate to create a top 4” high.  The cottage is colored with Copic markers and glittered up for a snowy roof look.
Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps - A Cottage Christmas - 3-1/2" square cards
Inside I tucked four little 3-1/2” cards made using the Pinstripe Backgrounder and had plenty of sentiments to go around from these Waltzingmouse Stamp SetsAlpine Christmas and Compliments of the Season.
Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps - A Cottage Christmas and We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board
I even made little envelopes to accommodate the cards using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch  Board.  Each card is cut using Spellbinders Classic Squares LGSpellbinders Classic Squares SM and embellished using Spellbinders Holly Leaves and Twigs – easy as pie!  Whew!  Now I’m ready for that spur of the moment gift…

It’s a lovely box to hold ready to hand cards and looking on it as a whole, what a beautiful gift it would make with the wee cards in it. I love the wee house and the roof reminds me of Hansel and Gretel with its sparkles.

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using a Quietfire Design sentiment and Spellbinders
As I’m surrounded by family and reach out to talk and stay in touch with you all on a daily basis, know that I am so very thankful.   Thankfulness for the joy that comes to me every day is the inspiration for my simple card today.  It is a sentiment penned by my friend Suzanne Canon at Quietfire Design and it’s oh so very true – no one can measure how much a heart can hold. Thank goodness there’s no limit and to be honest I know for sure that there are times where mine overflows.   I thought this was so fitting as we celebrate Thanksgiving in the US.  If you are a friend abroad please know that I’m thankful for you too!!   The sentiment I used for the card is No One Can Measure and I used Spellbinders Filigree Delight for the focal point background panel.   And for those of you who follow day to day – look ma, no bow ;-)

So, go eat your turkey and polish it off with pumpkin pie.  After that nice long nap you’ll need to take, be sure you stop in to see Suzanne at Quietfire Design for her Thanksgiving Sale :-)

    Good morning Becca,
What a beautiful card you have made for us yet again. The filigree design sets take a card from nice to beautiful, stunning. Although here in Scotland we don’t have thanksgiving time, some of us give thanks each day that we are still here. Some of us are struggling but we could be an awful lot worse and for that i am grateful. Thank you for the time and talent that you give to us, that helps us to develope our projects and gives us ideas and encouragement that we can do it as well.
Have a lovely day with your family Becca and know that although we don’t celebrate this time, we d give thanks to the special people like yourself and Sue who give us that encouragement each day,

hahaha I was wondering when you would make a card without a bow. I like all the cards you make so it doesnt worry me if its with a bow or without but it must have cost you an arm and a leg not to put one on hee hee

  • Sheila in CyprusNovember 30, 2013 - 12:18 am

    Hi Becca

WOW! What a stunning card with a beautiful sentiment. A must have, as this would be very apt for many ocassions. Have just looked at the SB die used and found that you created it too, this is one die that I must have it looks so versatile.

No thanksgiving here in Cyprus either, but like Nora (Scotland) I give thanks for being here and for the priviledged life that I live. There is now a lot of poverty in Cyprus but despite this still lots of love and support for those families suffering. We are told that the current situation will get worse over the next 12 months but I pray that these families do not have to suffer too long. There are some days when I feel really down but when I need some kind of comfort I turn to your blog. You are an inspiration Becca and I admire you for that.

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.

Off to have a long browse at your creations now.

    Take care.

    Love Sheila xReplyCancel

What kind of adhesive do you use on fine details like this card?
I’m still struggling to find the right one for fine details.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
