We all love interactive and kinetic cards! Introducing the Christmas Cascade Collection!

This holiday collection allows you to make a Cascading Card inside of a Shadowbox Frame, mounted on a card base or unmounted. Don’t worry, these motifs make great conventional cards as well.

We listened to you, and we heard loud and clear that our community loves dynamic and purposeful cards. In previous collections we gave you 3D Vignettes in a Christmas way.  Now we’ve found a way to merge a Collection favorite, Shadowbox Vignettes, in a new format.

Hi there, today our Creative Team is sharing our makes from the Christmas Cascade Collection.  Let’s take a second to sort this out…

What’s a Christmas Cascade?

Amazing Paper Grace takes a spin on Christmas by building a new collection around something you already have in your stash – the Shadowbox Dies.  I love building upon what you already have and making it new again.

Christmas Cascade is made up of sets of 3″ motif dies where each set has 3 motifs.  That’s enough for each leaf of your waterfall but again, you could make them the center of your A2 or your A7 card. These, paired with the Waterfall base will allow you to use any dies to make your next Waterfall Card.

The Inspiration behind Christmas Cascade

The inspiration for Christmas Cascade was to produce a motif to use from an enclosure card all the way up to full A7 card with background layers.  This “cardlet” size has been a favorite in our stash because the elements can easily transition into all of the Amazing Paper Grace Collections and to all size cards.  Hint:  This is not the last time you will see “Cardlets”

Each of our Creative Team members will show you how to make a Christmas Cascade Card that is a waterfall card and a Christmas Cascade Card that is a flat card.

My Cards For Today

First up is my Waterfall Card using Amazing Paper Grace GLP-197 Filigree Glimmer Wreaths.

Here is what the dies look like:

I just love a waterfall.  If you’ve not seen one before, you simply pull on a lever and the layers peel back.  Here are what my layers look like – two Christmas wreaths flanked by a sentiment.

My first card is a waterfall using the Filigree Glimmer Wreaths.  I went with gold and cream and seated the entire waterfall inside of a Shadowbox Frame just to make things fun.  There are so many embellishments with the die set, that I glammed it up a bit.

Designer Tip:  When making the folding piece of the waterfall card, use a lighter weight cardstock so that the folds are more fluid.

Second up is my Flat Card using Amazing Paper Grace GLP-197 Filigree Glimmer Wreaths.

Here is the video showing amazing new samples as well as a tutorial showing you how to put the Cascade Card together:

These dies and plates may be available in limited quantities, Amazing Paper Grace Christmas Cascade.

Amazing Paper Grace September 2020 Die of the Month - Lattice Quadrante - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=36554
Hello Gracelets!!  As you know, each month I have the pleasure of introducing a new Die of the Month.  It’s absolutely my therapy to play with this die and present it in several fashions over the course of the month.  This month the die is one that is capable of so many different arrangements because I’ve given you four motifs to work with. Welcome the Amazing Paper Grace September 2020 Die of the Month Lattice Quadrante.  I almost named it Lattice Pie but you know me, the elegant name won out :-)

Inspiration for Lattice Quadrante

So often when cutting a die, I wish I had two motifs so that I could mirror and cut the same motif at the top and the bottom.  This desire is the inspiration for this month’s Die of the Month, Lattice Quadrante.  I’ve given you four motifs that translate into countless configurations.  It just so happens if you use all four motifs, you actually come out with a rounded central element and I’ve given you a rim so that it can be completely cut out.  It’s just as easy to use two of the motifs and the partial rim to get the shaping at the top and at the bottom.  With those pieces, I could immediately count about five different styles of cards.

Here is a short video that shows all the pieces to the die set and how to put them together if not making a round motif:

Pretty much no month is complete until I’ve tried to make a box with the die of the month.  I love the box this month because it is so simple and the beautiful lattice makes the color come through.  Here the box is 2-3/4″ on each side and about 4 inches high.  I topped it off with a little spray of silk roses.

I think I’m taken with the ability to set up this motif as a “V”.  Because four motifs are supplied, it’s soooo easy to cut two at once for a lovely vertical mirrored panel.  I’ve always wanted to do this!  I’ve always done tall cards and they are so popular right now – this definitely scratches the itch to go vertical.  For this arrangement, I created a custom envelope using scoreboard but it could have been easily done with my We R Memories Envelope Maker as well.

Pocket Cards

I also created a set of pocket cards.  These are perfect for invitations, or if you have a lot to say!!  The Lattice Quadrante pattern is used to make “Peek a Boo”  V shape in a paper panel so that it shows front and center and gives you an idea that there is text inside for you to pull out.

This format of the pocket card was oooh, so easy to make.  Simply cut one motif into a panel and glue the panel onto the front of the card, making a pocket.  I finished it off with a cardstock band on the front and glued the same band inside.  This card is 6″ x 6″.

I don’t know about you, but once I find something I like, I make many.  This was such an easy roll to get into and made me look in my stash for beautiful design paper.  I couldn’t resist decorating up another pocket card.

We’ll be bringing you more inspiration on ways to use the sweet pieces to this set, this month!  In fact, join us when the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Team and I show you the interactive Christmas Cascade Collection we’ll be making for Christmas this year.

Check out the Creative Team’s Lattice Quadrante creations!

post-header-bottomSweet friends, August was an amazing month even though life was spent mostly in isolation.  I had the pleasure of working behind the scenes with new members of my creative team as well as the previous members who have stayed on.  In addition, this month I’ve had the opportunity to have Zoom calls with friends and with family.  It all really feeds my heart to have that connectivity to people.

Just wanted to say hello and tell you how much I have enjoyed staying in touch with you. I am a very long time fan, since well before John passed away. I wonder how many years it has been . I remember when I first found your blog and couldn’t believe how beautiful your cards were. You were the very first person to inspire me to go beyond and outside the box. We both have been through quite a few ups and downs over the years, even though we have never met I still think of you as a friend and I do believe someday we will meet when we pass from this earth to be with our Heavenly Father and to walk with Jesus. May you be wonderfully blessed my sister in Christ.

Hi there sweet friends.  Today we are introducing a mini collection around a friendly Halloween Theme.  This is my very first venture into Halloween and it’s nice to create a little bit of whimsy.  Create some BOOtiful creations with a new collection from Amazing Paper Grace – The Halloween Collection.  It’s super SPOOKY cute!

Some links may be affiliate links, buying products through these links generates a commission at no cost to you.

The Halloween Collection Details

This Halloween Collection includes three thin metal die sets They can be used separately or mix and match with each set in the collection. It goes especially well with the popular Charming Cottage Box die set as you will see while hopping through.  The inspiration for the set was indeed the Charming Cottage.  I simply wanted something to bundle up goodies to deliver during the holidays.  Since the Cottage is so easy to put together, these add-on sets are a great way to extend the life of a die in your stash!

The Halloween Collection Die Sets!

I’m introducing Amazing Paper Grace S4-1069 Nested Clipped Squares by Spellbinders.  It’s a great year around shape and you will notice that by utter coincidence it also fits with Amazing Paper Grace S5-422 Rosa Diamante, which I have also used on my card.

My Hey Boo Halloween Card

For my project today using the Nested Clipped Squares I went for a vintage Halloween look with blacks, reds, and vintage type.  Of course, it had to be a teeny bit elegant.  I die cut Rosa Diamante and layered it up with the Nested Clipped Squares and finished off the with Hey Boo die cut words from Amazing Paper Grace S3-405 Spooky Boo.
