Hi there friends, yesterday I shared the card I made for my friend and today I share the gift. It’s a gift basket that’s easy peasy to make using Filigree Corners Die Templates. Lol, this has been on my desk for a month – it’s one of the items I made to send to the UK, but alas it was too bulky for that trip. I might add that this is definitely something I’d give locally and with the right, snug box, I’d even put it in the mail. Once made I set down to think about what I might like to put in the 5-1/8″ x 5-1/8″ basket – hmmm, fat quarters, soap, flowers. In the end, I filled the bottom of the basket with shred and then added delish Ferrero Rocher chocolates – 16 to be exact and they fit perfectly in a four by four arrangement. Here’s a link to the actual tutorial pin on my Pinterest Boards for an easy repin —-> Filigree Corners Basket Instructions :-)
That’s it for today, I hope you all have a wonderful week :-)
Hi there friends, I’m popping in with a quick card to share today. It’s part of a gift ensemble for a friend, and I’ll be showing the gift tomorrow. My friend is someone I’ve known through thick and thin, through highs and lows so the sentiment from Justrite Papercrafts, What I Like About You was just perfect. I love how I can personalize the sentiment for any other relationship like sister, sweet heart, daughter, by just changing out my little tag (Spellbinders Charmed I’m Sure).
To showcase the sentiment I used Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight and Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles. Behind the sentiment I stamped the framing scrolls from the stamp set onto my design paper and embossed in gold.
Here’s your Step By Step Recap of die cuts and layers, from the bottom up: Start out with a Card Base – 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, foam tape, gold matting layer cut to 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″, cream layer cut to 5″ x 5, foam tape, brown matting layer cut to 4-5/8″ x 4-5/8″, design paper layer cut to 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″, foam tape, die cut layer cut from Decorative Labels Eight in gold, foam tape, die cut layer cut from Radiant Rectangles in cream, add tag cut from Charmed I’m Sure. Add Ribbon, Bling and Button.
Hugs friends and more hugs :-)
Sweet blog friends, would you be surprised if I had a little Becca Bit to share today? We’ll I do :-) It’s just a little tip that I’d love to pass on about stacking dies together to get the shape that you want. I loved the shape of the sentiment in this new set called Birthday Wishes to You from Justrite Papercrafts and looked for just the right shape to stamp it on. Not finding what I wanted, I created my own shape and I’ll show you the step by step at the bottom of my post.
In the meantime, I was in the mood for a textured card so I reached for Spellbinders Persian Splendor and created a card that let most of that wonderful background show. The focal point is the sentiment which is made up of Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles, Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles, Spellbinders Back to Basics Tags and Spellbinders Standard Circles LG.
Here’s your Step By Step recap of die cuts and layers, from the bottom up: Start out with a Card Base – 5-3/4″ x 7-3/4″, foam tape, mat layer in cream cut to 5-1/8″ x 7-1/8″, blue layer embossed with Persian Splendor cut to 5″ x 7″, foam tape, mat layer in cream cut to 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2“, blue layer embossed with Persian Splendor cut to 4-3/8″ x 6-3/8″, foam tape, die cut layer using Radiant Rectangles, die cut layer using Resplendent Rectangles, die cut layer using Standard Circles LG, die cut layer using Back to Basic Tags.
So here is little tip and card making idea – take a look at your dies carefully because you can combine them to make the shape you want. I’m not a good fussy cutter and for this sentiment I wanted it to be small enough to see the decorative die layered behind and I wanted to accentuate the round. So I found a long die to accommodate the length and a round die to accommodate the height and I did some test stamping and my first choice worked out. I picked some other pretty dies that were slightly incrementally larger and would stack up well. Starting on the left from smallest to largest I made sure that when I stacked them it would allow the pretty parts of the dies behind to show. Here’s how I layered things up!
Start out with four die cuts. Stamp sentiment on both circle and long tag
Stack tag on top of circle. Secure with your glue runner.
Stack tag and circle on top of Replendent Rectangle
Stack grouping on top of Radiant Rectangle
Tuck round end of tag inside of oval so that it gives you an arched, dimensional sentiment!

Absolutely stunning!
What a fantastic idea Becca – your creativity never ceases to amaze me, Shame we couldn’t see it in the flesh on Create and Craft! x
Really pretty and feminine. Love it.
Wow, I love your basket! I have the corner dies, but was wondering about the handle – I think I’ll have to invest in that punch, it’s beautiful and would be so useful.
It´s an awesome and beautiful basket Becca, and thanks soo much for doing the tutorial, but I´m really sad to see, that everything is changed again again, so it´s impossible to get it if you´re not on Pinterest. Normally I always use to just mark it up and print it out, when I want to try one of your tutorials, but for some reaon it´s totally impossible, and if I try to save the pics and add them into a word document I just get a link to this here, and with my computer in one place and my craftroom in another, it´s impossible to run forth and back to see on the computer and back to do something, so this obviously means, that I wount be able to use your great tutorials anymore, which I´m really sad about. I´m just too old to start all over and get into Pinterst and begin to learn all that now too, so guess us a bit older will soon be all out on everything online, as it seems everything is being changed these days and made more and more complicated, and we seems to have to be on everything everywhere if we want to follow anybody now a days. But I want to thank you very much for the really great years, that has been on your blog until now. I have really enjoyed all your wonderful tutorials and gorgeous inspirations I´ve found inhere until now.
Best of luck with all these new changes to you too.
I too am not linked or use Pinterst – but, with help from one of my five
daughters —I’ll learn soon.
This BASKET IS PERFECT – for: hostess gift, a day of the week gift
to someone or – even better yet, a Treat to give a office receptionist to
pass around. When my husband was in practise – the best part of the
day was when a understanding patient came in with goodies for all of us.
Thank you SOOO much for this and of course the Tutorial.
God Bless you . .

Hi Becca. I love this basket, it is much bigger than I expected, which makes a pleasant change as so often these type of baskets are only tiny, and you then have to do the math to enlarge them (I hate Math!!!) Take care.
Wow what a talented Lady you are

Hi Maryann, not sure which changes you are mentioning. The tutorial is right here, you’re looking at it dear. It’s the grouping of pictures just above the comments so all you have to do is right click and save as, as you have always done:-) As a courtesy I mentioned that I’ve posted it to Pinterest as well. For the last year or so I’ve posted all my cards to Pinterest because they are all in one place and because many follow me there as well. Hope this helps. Pinterest is as easy as pie, but please only go there if it is something you want to do.

Easy peasy!!! What an adorable idea as centerpieces or placecard holders for any function requiring a little extra finesse. The bows and flowers add a lot but the filigree really makes it, but then look who the designer of the dies were LOL. Ordered the Lacey tiers last night. Thank you girlfriend!!

Good morning Becca,
I bet your friend thought that this was the best present she got as it was made with love and care, with the beautiful card to go she would be on 7th heaven.
Beautiful and just perfect for our loved ones who have a penchant to those little gold wrapped pieces from heaven.
Love and crafty hugs

Wonderful again, Becca! I have one question though, I have the EK success scroll pattern edger punch but it punches the pattern @ edge. And that edge is @ the center of your handle!… how did you do that! Advice please… :-)
Thank you much
Hi Sheila,
I’m not understanding your question. I cut my strip double width and punched down one side, turned the paper around and punched down the other side. I hope that answers your question :-)
It absolutely answers the question… I was punching this pattern on the edge of the paper and was wondering how could you punch it as a mirrored pattern. So how did you manage to align the punching on both sides so accurately… I’m an engineer and really appreciate your precision in craft and would like to be able to re-create the same in my projects.
