The winner gets a free set of their choice of Waltzingmouse stamps.  You have until September 22nd at 5:59 AM CST to leave your comment and then you can check on the Claire’s Blog on September 23rd after 6am CST to see if you are a winner.  Stay tuned, below I’ll tell you your next stop along the hop!!

Card Making Ideas by Amazingpapergrace.com using Waltzingmouse Opera Tags Christmas and Spellbinders Fancy Lattice, Spellbinders Nobel Rectangles, Spellbinders Labels Fourteen, Spellbinders Standard Circles LG (close up)

Today I’m sharing a couple of card making ideas – for the first I pulled out the red and gold for a Christmas Card today while reaching for a couple of Spellbinders Nestabilities including Spellbinders Fancy Lattice, Spellbinders Nobel Rectangles, Spellbinders Labels Fourteen and Spellbinders Standard Circles LG.  Just a little bit of layering, and voila.

So to recap the layers I used from the bottom up, my card base is 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″, foam tape, gold matting layer cut to 5″ x 7″, cream matting layer cut to 4-7/8″ x 6-7/8″, red layer cut using Nobel Rectangles backed with Fancy Lattice and trimmed to 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″, foam tape, die cut layer using Classic Circles LG in gold, foam tape, die cut layer using Gold Labels Four in cream, foam tape, die cut layer using Labels Fourteen in red, die layer using small motif from Nobel Rectangles.   Attach ribbons, bow, pearls and sentiment on appropriate layer.

WRBF-3882-2013
Hi there blog friends, I hope you had a great weekend!!  I spent a little time this weekend getting inky and  I’m sharing new stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps. Today is Day One of four days of new releases.  Can I just say that I love it when the mail man brings goodies. The sets that are being previewed today are amazing – today they harken back to the days of The Great Gatsby during the Art Deco age.  Clean lines and crisp color — the motifs were sleek and angular and everything was dripping with gold.  I love doing theme cards so I had to go back and do a little bit of research, but I loved what I was seeing.  My card today is made from the classic shapes that were dominant during the Art Deco age.

WRBF-3885-2013

I was tickled to pull out Spellbinders Nested Pennants, Spellbinders Circles LG and Spellbinders Circles SM.  The colorway is one of my favorites black, white and gold!!

WRBF-3883-2013
My card making idea was simple, I cut five of the nested pennants and arranged them in pyramid fashion with the bottom of the triangle at the top.  Each piece was edged with gold foil paper.  That motif was then added to a card base with a ribbon tied around it.  The triangle that holds the sentiment was hand cut.

WRBF-3884-2013

Here’s your Step By Step recap of die cuts and layers stacked from the bottom up: Start out with a black Card Base 5-1/2″ x 7″,  foam tape, gold matting layer cut to 4-7/8″ x 6-7/8″, white layer cut to 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″, foam tape, five nested pennants arranged as described above, foam tape, die cut layer using Circles SM, foam tape, die cut layer using Circles LG, foam tape, die cut layer using Circles SM, foam tape, die cut layer using Circles LG, add hand cut triangle with sentiment, ribbon, bow and button.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps – Puttin On the Ritz
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Natural White, Bazzill, Gold Foil
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories:  Spellbinders Nested Pennants, Spellbinders Circles LG and Spellbinders Circles SMMay Arts Silk Ribbon, Gold Ribbon, Becca’s Bow MakerGrand Calibur Die Cut Machine

As always another gorgeous project here today Becca, but I must confess, I loved the ones from yesterday more, and I was so thrilled to see all your amazing stamps and dies here in our part of the world finally. It was such an awesome feeling to sit and watch your work live on the screen like yesterday, and I loved every minute of it, and like you, I was glued to the screen here he he he, but boy it always cost me money to watch that show ha ha ha ha.

    Good morning Becca,
Your beautiful card would not have been out of place with Hercule Poirot and his choice of decor. Sorry imagination of mine goes totally of the rails some days…well most days it works overtime. Anyway your beautiful card is gorgeous in the black/white and gold and really shows it off to its maximum potential.Thank you for giving us another way to use the penant dies other than clowns hats, or flowers or bunting. I really beautiful clean crisp card that shines with natural beauty.

    Hi Becca,

Love the card and yesterday cost me a fortune, watching Create and Craft on TV. Sue Wilson is so clever at demonstrating and her blog is brilliant. Bought your pieces and loads more. Wish it was easier to buy items direct from you as your bow maker would be top of my wish list but I am not very good with computers and living here in the UK its a bit difficult.

    Much love,

Love the card Becca – it was a very ‘opulent time’ back then and still has charm. I was able to buy (lots of) crafty goodies ahead of the shows as I was out all day yesterday. I am so pleased you enjoyed the shows and maybe we will be seeing you on them in the near future… I am about to watch the recordings and I’m hoping all your samples will be shown to full advantage.
    Bless you.

Today’s card is very different from what you normally make it is very elegant and classy.
Yesterday I watched C&C and saw your new stamps and dies on Sue’s fab show- you both make an incredible team. I was very fortunate to buy your lovely dotted fronds background stamp and your mix and match sentiments. I look forward to having a play when they arrive.
Thanks for being such an inspiration.

This is the first time, though I have loved so, so many stamps and dies, that a particular theme jumped out to me and said “Buy me!” I absolutely love the black and white and gold, too! You did your research and nailed it on the head with the banners appearing as the opening presentation of a film. Wow, Becca! This set is a home run for Waltzingmouse designs, in my opinion. Now how will I keep the order on this planet?ReplyCancel

Outstanding card! Great use of the Pennant Dies. I’m about to give up on the more intricate Spellbinder dies. I just cannot get them to come out nicely. I use a Big Shot and run it through time after time with shims, etc. and still they do not cut perfectly. How do you do it?? I love your cards, but when the dies don’t come nicely, I can’t use them. Card Making Ideas by Amazingpapergrace using Justrite Papercrafts – JustRite Custom Filigree Corners Die, Just The Right Words, Spellbinders Back to Basic Tags
Hi there blog friends!!  I’ hope you’ll indulge me, today I’m showing another sample.   If you’re interested in card making ideas don’t forget about long cards.  I’ve made tall upright card in the past but I’m partial to the wide long card, and remember that a 4-1/8″ x 9″ card fits perfectly into a #10 business size envelope.  Not sure why I don’t think to make this layout more often.  Today I’m  using JustRite Custom Filigree Corners die.  This time around I’m using the smaller of the two corners – it is the perfect size for many projects.  So, I figured out that by placing two of the corners together you can form a perfect square.  Since there’s a small hole along the middle of each side, when combined the two holes are a perfect distance to thread a trinket pin.  I pulled the Friend sentiment from Just The Right Words and tied it onto the bow after stamping onto a tiny tag from Spellbinders Back to Basics.  I say this all the time but I’m serious, this is a simple card!!
WRBF-3881-2013

Here’s your Step By Step recap of die cuts and layers stacked from the bottom up:  Start out with a Card Base 4-1/4″ x 9″,  foam tape, cream mat layer cut to 3-3/4″ x 8-1/2″, foam tape, green mat layer cut to  3-1/8″ x 7-7/8″, design paper layer cut to 3-1/4″ x 8″, foam tape, ribbon, three squares assembled from six small filigree corners, pearl flourish.   (This one is slightly oversized for a business envelope but most of my cards are sent in padded envies :-)

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: Justrite Papercrafts – Just The Right Words
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Natural White, Colorbox Victorian Parlor Design Paper, Bazzill

Many of you asked yesterday, so I thought I would answer here – *yes* you can view the Create and Craft TV show from the United States.   Instructions are at the bottom of my post from yesterday – or click HERE!  In the meantime hugs!! Everyone was so sweet yesterday and a shout out to everyone that popped over to my blog to visit!

I LOVE this card Becca..I’m always looking to make different shapes & never think of doing this size as a wide long card rather than upright. I also like the fact you used the Filigree Corner Dies as they are one of MY FAVORITEs.
I am almost done making an Anniversary card using the large corner Filigrees to make cones for roses and am just not getting them to look right. I’m hoping the bow on top covers most parts of them (just going to watch your tutorial on bow making.) I make dreadful bows. I may decide to do this card instead even though it won’t look as good. I think your hands are truly blessed. It has to be done by tomorrow and you don’t want to know how long it’s taken so far.ReplyCancel

Wow! Amazing Grace How sweet it looks…… I have just found your site & had to leave a comment for you. Your cards are so beautiful but more than that they have a quality of Peacefulness & Uniqueness about them that I’ve not seen anywhere else. I live on an island the smallness that many of you would find hard to comprehend, with no other crafters so I look on line for inspiration. May our Amazing God who knows all our needs bless & continue to guide and inspire you to continue to bless & inspire others with your work.

I have 1 question: Would it be possible to show a picture of each die you use, I for one find it hard to remember what die you’ve used as soon as I looked at a photo of the die I knew straight away. Sorry, it’s just a thought.

Another piece of art! I wish I had a superlative that I haven’t yet used to describe how I feel about your card. My thesaurus is worn out on the pages with beautiful, gorgeous, masterpiece and so on. You get my drift? All to say is, you’ve done it again. Still delighted with your wonderful news.ReplyCancel

Good afternoon Becca from “across the pond”. It’s a blustery wet and very cold day here but fortunately I’m snug, in the warm, and watching Sue Wilson on her second show of the day. Coincidentally I was just looking at this beautiful card on TV and it looks absolutely stunning as always. I just wanted to congratulate you once again on your fabulous designs, which everybody is loving, and judging from all the emails received during the shows today I suspect you have made lots of new friends here in the UK. Congratulations again and hope you enjoy the rest of your day.ReplyCancel
