Sweet blog friends, it’s time again for a delightful sneak peek at fabulous new Spellbinders Die Templates that are coming soon. This is one of my favorite times of the year because by playing with the templates, we really get to know them inside out and can tell you cool ways you can factor them into your collection.
I’ve received a very unique set of dies – whether alone or used with something you already own, they add a dimension of elegance and texture that had been missing before now. I’m tickled to introduce you to Spellbinders S4-412 Gold Rounds One. They are designed to ‘build on the core’, meaning if you invested in any shape that will accommodate a circle within it, then these dies will embellish what you already have in your stash. Here is what the set looks like in real life:
Because they are made in the shape of a circle, they are a natural to embellish any Spellbinders Circle shape and fit comfortably in between the nested circles. Remember though, they are not limited to circles, they’ll place raised decorative ring on anything you add them to like Spellbinders Marvelous Squares. While an embossing folder gives you an all over pattern, these elements will let you put motifs inside a shape.
I started off with a gift project made to show off the ‘rings’ with this set. I created this round card gift set from a recycled ‘The Laughing Cow’ cheese box. I glammed it up and then topped it with circles that are embossed and sparkle with an easy glimmer paste that I simply applied by rubbing my finger over the raised embossing. I have a step by step tutorial to show you how.
Outside of the Box (click for enlarged pictures)
1. Peel the papers from the box.
2. Using Viva Inka Gold Metallic Rub and touching lightly with one finger, rub the gold paste on all the areas of the box that will show.
3. Go around the edges of the lid with adhesive lace and adhesive pearls.
4. Cut Spellbinders Grand Circles #1. Emboss using Spellbinders S4-412 Gold Rounds One #8. Burnish Inka Gold across embossed areas, add pearls then adhere to top of lid.
5. Take a length of crepe paper and gather into a circle inside perimeter of pearls. Trim any jagged edges before gluing to top of box.
6. Cut six circles using Spellbinders Circles SM #3 and then emboss using Spellbinders S4-412 Gold Rounds One #1, #2, #3 at the same time.
7. Fold each embossed circle as shown and adhere flap to flap until all six circles are joined together. Adhere to top of box.
8. Embellish with pearls as shown, add a small bow and cluster of pearls.
Inside the Box
9. Cut two Spellbinders Grand Circles #1. Adhere one circle shape to the bottom of the box. Emboss the other element using Spellbinders S4-412 Gold Rounds One #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 and #8 at the same time.
10. Adhere to the inside of the lid.
What Goes in the Box
For Each Card You’d Like to Make:
11. Cut/Emboss Spellbinders S4-415 Delightful Circles using a folded piece of cardstock positioned so that one edge of the paper falls short of the die cut line leaving the fold intact for a card base.
12. Cut/Emboss Spellbinders Standard Circles SM #5. Burnish rim of circle with gold paste. Adhere to center of card base.
13. (As was done in Step 6 above) Cut Spellbinders Standard Circles LG #4 then emboss using Spellbinders S4-412 Gold Rounds One #1, #2, #3 and #4 at the same time.
14. Lightly rub paste over the embossed areas, adhere to card base and embellish with pearls.

With such an elegant set of dies, what card making session would be complete without making an Anniversary Card? I just knew that these Gold Rounds One would look so elegant done in gold foil so show off their detail, and plays in so nicely with a special occasion. I used Spellbinders Standard Circles LG, Standard Circles SM and Grand Circles to cut out each tier of paper and foil – but it was much easier than you could imagine. I cut my foil with the entire set of Spellbinders Standard Circles SM together in one pass and embossed each with its matching Gold Rounds One set.
My card size is 5-1/2″ x 7-1/4″. If you’re asking where to get the paper sized to make a large top folded card like this, you can see my tutorial on Spellbinders Hinged Cards to make the base. The best way to get started is to pick a card to copy, look at the die list and substitute similar core dies from your own collection, cut and assemble along with the instructions. You can do it!

both are beautiful, thanks for the tutorial. I will be making this card for sure, just bought the Gatefold die at the Scrapbook Expo in Duluth, Georgia this past weekend. Thanks you are a great inspiration
So very beautiful Becca.. Love the baby card and of course love the pick. This is just so perfectly lovely and surely to be enjoyed for years to come for the new mom and baby girl will enjoy when she gets older.
Hugs, Jean
OMG this baby card is soooooo beautiful…..your work is just amazing..I have to go and order that spellbinder die…..and try to make this…good thing I have a job to keep paying for all my spellbinders…lol thanks for sharing and for the tutorial…..
Becca, that is such a beautiful card. I have one question: If you printed the name and birth date on your inkjet, what font did you use? If that is one of your fonts, I would love to have such a font for my printer, too. I’ve often thought I wish I had an elaborate font like that for my computer to print with. That way, I would not be limited to just the words on a stamp.
Another beauty of a card Becca and a wonderful tutorial. Thank you so much!
Such a beautiful card. I enjoy your site and learn so very much from your tutorials. Please don’t stop!! That is also one of the most striking fonts I have ever seen. Is it one that can be purchased?
Thanks again. Judy
Becca you did it again!! What a beautiful card and you are a fabulous instructor. I wait eagerly for your posts and of course your videos. You never cease to amaze me with your creativity. God Bless you always.
Another beautiful card. Your work is amazing. Thank you for the wonderful video.
Have not used magnets before. Love this card, thanks Becca for your great help.
Becca I can’t wait to watch this again when I have more time , I just love how you took the gate and turned them sideways ( of course only you would think of that ) I love the welcome baby card you made it into and I can’t wait to make some for some special someones who will be in our family soon. TFS again such a treat !!!
God Bless
Becca, I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work on our behalf! You are an inspiration to us all! Plus, love the new dies and am working on collecting them now!
Bless your heart, I know that was a job getting the video done for us, thank you so much, been waiting for it since I saw the Christmas card!! AND I love the baby card, gotta have that set of stamps!! I just love your artwork and refer almost daily to your blog for inspiration (sometimes several times a day) and have learned so much from you! Thank you again for this video!!
Forgot to ask! What is the font you used for the birth announcement?
Just such a lovely card that you make it look so easy to do. The magnets were new to me but liked the effect. The baby card is totally awesome ~ I just love PINK just like you. I hope you can tell us what the font is because I think I am the third or fourth one to ask. Very elegant and a lot of time we are all looking for something like this font for the inside. Thank you if you could let us know on that. Such inspiration you give all of us and we do appreciate it.
Hugs,
Mstgane

Thanks so much for this tutorial, Becca! I’m going to try this tomorrow! I Love, love, love, this card!
I love, love, love this gatefold card! So lacey and pretty … thanks so much for the tutorial. Unfortunately, I was only able to find 5 days for the Spellbinders give-away. I’m not sure what happened to the 6th day … I was never able to find it on the Spellbinders blogsite.
Absolutely beautiful Becca! Thank you so much for using the stamps so creatively!
Stunning as usual! Thank you so much for the tutorial. Really helps us who are not so creative and experienced, plus busy, to know what steps to take so that we can have a beautiful card too. I adored the pink baby card! What a treasure for the Mom and Baby. I was born in 1947 and I still treasure my baby book with all the cards my Mother recieved, my lock of hair and foot print.
Do you make sure you have all the pieces cut and embossed before you even start assembling, or do you make the base and then cut and emboss the layers and decorations as you go?
Do you have the card preplanned before you even start or do you decide as you assemble?
Thank you so much for all your help. Sue
Thank you for all the hard work you put into producing this video for us Becca. Your baby card is stunning. And like lots of others I would love to know which font you used. Christine
Astounding Becca, I have been waiting for this tutorial with bated breath since you first posted the card. No that’s insulting calling it just a “card” it is truly a work of art. Thank you again for all the hours you must put in on these video’s. I am sure all your followers like me are very thankful for your generosity in sharing.
Bucket loads of warm bear hugs from Carole in South Australia
OW! Again! You are my favorite designer. Was one of the first to sign up for the Gold club. Missing only one of your cling stamps (don’t care for clear) and when I had to cut down on the number of emails per day, you’re the only designer I didn’t UNsubscribe. Imagine my excitement Sat. when David G. was drawn on the first day.. Sent him a text but he couldn’t get to a computer for over 5 hours. My son won!!! And I’m first on the list to borrow it until I get my own. Sounds like they plan to send them out before the stores get them. Last year when I won Day 7, they didn’t arrive until mid September. Thanks for all your terrific designs. And for showing some more samples from one of the Gold kit dies.
WOW was supposed to be the beginning of the last comment. I have the dress blank but not the gate. I’ll have to get it now. A little late for me to send another baby card as my 3rd great granddaughter was born May 28th. But I’m often late–and this is just too sweet.to not make for her.
Absolut outstanding work here again Becca. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this card and I´m sure, I´m going to use this one quite a few times too.
Thanks sooo very much for sharing all your hard work on these tutorials with us here. I for one really apreciate it very very much. You are a remarkable girl and truely amazing, that´s for sure.I soooooo love all your stunning creations here all the time, and your directions are always sooo awesome too and sooo easy to follow, that I really believe anyone can make such gorgeous work, if they follow your instructions, cause then nothing can go wrong.
Have a wonderful day and I hope, that I´ll one day be able to share as much back with you as you always share with me too.
Beautiful cards! I wondered how you would put a twist to this die!! I want it even more now!
Becca, this is another fantastic design! Thank you soooooo much for your hard work in producing a fabulous tutorial. I hope I can try this technique out sometime because the cards you showcased are absolutely wonderful. Thank you again for sharing your talent with us!
thank you soooo much for the Tutorials: Baby Card and Christmas Card.
i’m amazed at your choices and wanting to make my own for future
use – be it Birthday, Anniversay, New Born, etc.
You’ve really inspired me with all you explanations and DETAILS.
Love those and need them
God richly Bless you Becca,
Joyce
Thanks for taking the time go do the video for this tutorial Becca. You always make it look so uncomplicated. Can’t wait to do it.
I was recently looking for inspiration for my new baby granddaughters card, I only wish I had seen this card before she came into this world.
Your cards are the most beautiful pieces of art work that I have ever had the pleasure of coming across.
Thank you for your inspirations.
Becca – these cards are not just cards – they are works of art! You wow us every time!
Thank you so much for the superb tutorial. you are so generous of your time and talents.
Hugs

It’s been quite a while since I have been in my craft room and your project and video are just what I needed to jump start my creativity once again. Your vide is so clear to follow and results in such a beautiful creation. Thanks for taking the time to prepare the video for us, Becca.
Very lovely card and very inspiring for many occasions. Thank you for making the tutorial as it helps to see you assemble these first hand. I, too, am wondering about the font used as it is quite nice. Spellbinders is really getting into some creative dies that can be used with the basics which is marvelous. They could keep doing that as far as I am concerned so we can get more use out of our basic collection shapes. Thanks again for sharing your creativity.
Love these cards! Thanks for the tutorial. We greatly appreciate it!
My Becca you did it again. THE CARD IS REALY WONDERFUL.
Remarkable projects! Just so beautiful to look at and I would imagine fun to make. Your video was clear and convinced even me to think I could produce an elegant gatefold card like this. Truly amazing. Thank you so much for producing this informative video.
Hi Becca from across “the pond”. I so love reading your blog and discovering what what new project you have in store for us. I thoroughly enjoyed your video and think I might just give this a try. Have a great day!
SOOOO BEAUTIFUL BECCA!!!!!!! I STILL don’t know HOW you come up with all these GORGEOUS CREATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A GIFT!!!!!!!!!:)
LOVE LOVE your card!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS a BUNCH for sharing. Can you tell me where to purchase the little magnets.
Thanks
Loved your card and video….it’s always a thrill to see your creative projects. So stunning and gorgeous.
Something I saw on a blog recently for adhereing those intricate die cuts was E6000 adhesive now comes in a spray mist and it dries in 1 to 3 minutes and it really does dry clear…some of the glues that profess drying clear still leave a glossy glob where it oozes out from the edges of die cuts. I just cut all my die cut pieces for my project, lay them face down in a shoe box or equivalent, mist them with the E6000 spray adhesive and then use tweazers to place them on my project….it really does what it says it will do and I love it. You do need to follow the instructions on the bottle for cleaning the sprayer when you are finished using your glue so the nozzle isn’t clogged with dry glue….I found it very easy to clean.
I found this spray adhesive at Michael’s and with a coupon got it really cheap. It normally retails for $9.99, so at 40% off it was nothing and I expect a bottle to last a while. Hope you’ll give it a try. I make a lot of cards using die cuts and it has definitely improved the finished look of my projects to not have that shiny residue around the edges.
I really love this design – wil be trying this. Love the font also! Thanks for the videe – it makes all the difference to see how it goes together rather than just reading a description.
beautiful. wonderful use of the “welcome Baby” set. Love all the layers.
Have a great day
Wow, this is to die for.(pardon the pun). Absolutely beautiful card. Thank you for sharing xx
Wow….the whole card is amazing! To do the outside is gorgeous; but, wow, all the treasure’s on the inside too! Totally amazing. thanks for sharing.
PS Thanks so much for the tutorial video. Awesome!!!
absolutely gorgeous Becca….what a beautiful keepsake for the new mom and sweet little one :) ty for the turorial, I love gatefold cards too, but I just love how you used the gatefold die, amazing!!
Thanks so kindly, Becca, for this wonderful tutorial, which convinced me to buy the gorgeous die. Your artistic brilliance always blows me away!
This card is amazing. I can’t imagine the amount of time & effort you put into the tutorial. I never would have thought of using magnets in a card. The FONT is sooooooooo elegant. What is the name of it or where would I find it? I need to get the Spellbinders die so I can try making this card too.
I too am wondering what the font is!!!! :) LOVE this card and will be “stealing” this idea in the near future.
i especially love this sweet card. Because of it, I ordered the stamp set from Quietfire immediately. Thanks so much for sharing!
Becca: Thank you very much for the beautiful cards and tutorial you share with us. You are amazing. God blessed you. Hugs
Just ordered the gate die. This has to be one of my favorites!! It is a card and gift all in one. I love and so appreciate every time you do a tutorial. I know it’s alot of work, but it helps us so much to know step by step how you achieve each look.
I’m amazed how you take a die, turn it and tweak it and make a whole new creation from it’s original intent!!! And then, you choose to share with your readers your process- thank you, thank you, thank you.
Sincerely,
Cindy Click
Becca, Your cards are beautiful. The video was very good & easy to follow.

Gorgeous card. Love the gatefold tutorial. Thanks so much. Your tutorials are always so informative.

Love your cards and tutorials. Your voice is so soothing too. I mentioned on my blog one time that your voice was so soothing that you should read e-books or videos for babies to relax them. Thanks for another soothing, but creative, tutorial.
Absolutely genius…gorgeous cards and wonderful tutorial!!! Thank you so much for showing us how to create these :) Blessings!
Such a beautiful creation and a great tutorial looking forward to giving this a try. Thank you x
Becca, a friend sent me to your blog and i’ve been here before and i am sure i am “following” you through blogger, i’d like to receive your posts via email. Do you have a link for that on your sidebar? I didn’t see it. Thank you.
Great video! Thank you.
Grandma Bonnie, thank you so much for asking!
At the top right corner of the blog, there is a subscribe tab that will allow you to subscribe to my blog posts by email. Looking forward to your company each day!!
Love it!! Esp since my friend just told me she is expecting.
Becca, four years ago my husband suffered a massive stroke a few weeks after his 50th birthday. During the following two weeks he suffered 4 more strokes. Up to that time I was a stamper/card maker and had so much “stuff” I could have opened my own store. After my sweetheart became ill, all of our belonging were auctioned off and 5 months later he left the hospital and we moved in with my daughter. I haven’t made a card since. But then about 6-7 weeks ago I came across your site and I am ready to start again!! You are so very talented and I can’t thank you enough for inspiring me to start making cards again. We don’t have much because I cannot work, (he needs constant care) but God will provide. In the meantime, I want to begin a collection of Spellbinder dies. Which ones would you suggest that I start with? I can probably purchase 2 or 3 to start. Thanks so much if you can respond. I know how busy you must be.
I finally had a chance to check out your card, you always put such great detail into your cards, it is just gorgeous, very sweet baby card!
Morning Becca, This is a gorgeous baby card, I love it.

Hi Becca, I love this card. How clever to join the two gate dies together at the front. You have such an imaginative mind and come up with such unique designs. I love the font you used for the baby’s name and date of birth. Can you let me know what font it is please as I don’t have many stamps with text and tend to print and then cut my sentiments. Happy crafting and God Bless.
Oh my gosh, Becca. This is just so amazing. I’m so excited to try this and you make it look so easy. I know these tutorials must be sooo time consuming for you, but look how many people you make happy!!! Totally gorgeous, just like you.
Hugs
Stunning! – as usual ;)
