WRBF-3684-2012
Good morning sweet blog friends!  I have a friend card to share with you today – can you ever have enough?  I’ve been good lately, taking the time to drop a card here and drop a card there, off in the mail.  Last year was such a busy year and I’ve missed many occasions – hard to believe isn’t it – there’s absolutely no shortage of cards here!!   That’s one of the things I vowed I would prioritize this year; I’m ever mindful that time passes quickly and you can’t get it back.  Resolutions, right?  It’s all good – I feel like I’m on track, how about you?  On to  my card for the day – my inspiration came from the center oval piece from this wonderful JustRite Papercrafts  stamp set called Special Gifts Labels Twenty Nine.  Precious!!

WRBF-3685-2012
I created my own card base for this card by starting with an 8.5″ x 5.5″ panel and cutting Spellbinders™ A2  Scalloped Borders One on one end.  I scored it a couple of inches back, leaving a 5.5″ x 6″ tall section after the score mark.  Then I added a 5.5″ x 6″ tall panel on the front securing it with adhesive just under the scalloped border.  On the card base I used Spellbinders™ Adorning Squares and stacked Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals on top followed by Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals Large.  Instead of letting the tails of the bow hang down, they are simply adhered to the inside the scalloped flap hides them so that they don’t show on the inside.  If you are ever discouraged in your cardmaking just remember the charm of a handmade card :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Papercrafts – Special Gifts Labels Twenty Nine
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White, The Paper Company
Ink: Amuse – French Roast
AccessoriesSpellbinders™ A2  Scalloped Borders One,  Spellbinders™ Adorning Squares, Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals, Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals Large, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Recollections 0Half Pearl Stickers, filigree, pearl brad, Becca’s Bow Maker

Even though your gifts are picked out for that special loved one on Valentines Day, have you remembered yourself?  JustRite is having a special Pink Packaging Valentines Sale that you should take a peek at.   There are 17 sets that are on sale for 30% off. Check it out!!  With limited availability, the sale lasts until February 18th.  In addition, Retired Cling and Clear sets are now $10.00 ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by friends you are all truly Special Gifts . . .

Thank you for this post! I have been frustrated lately that I cannot find paper long enough to make card bases bigger than 6 inches tall. I’ve actually done something similar to what you’ve done here but it was by trial and error and not nearly as professional looking. I love that I always learn something from your posts!ReplyCancel

Oh Becca! I have so enjoyed the past several months getting the lovely designed kits. How I will miss your inspiration each month. You have so inspired me and I Looked so forward to seeing what you did with each kit. What can I do to help? I know I am just one person, but there must be something I can do or each of your 500 committed followers. I have been there since day 1.

I tried to leave a message above, but it wouldn’t let me, so this is the best I can do.

Please do not stop creating. God has given you such a wonderful creative gift and I hope that you will continue using it. I know paper crafting takes an anormous amount of time and energy. I do it myself and I am not near as creative as you. If you need someone to talk to please write me. I just want you to know that you have ladies out here that love creating with you, be it close or far away! We care. My email is —— and I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!

One question, are you going to continue a blog? Please let us know. Thank you so very much! NancyReplyCancel

WRBF-3682-2012
Finally!  Actually that was a couple of days ago, but I think it took me all week to get over the drive.  Seriously, I just unpacked the car earlier today and have been working on some deadlines.  In the meantime, I just wanted to say how much I missed posting and chatting with you.  From my last card I noticed there were lots of (unexpected) questions about the bird and the flourish I used – in fact there was a little guessing lottery going on in the comments.  Wait no more!  You all know my love for K and Company papers and embellishments  . . . so, both the bird and the flourish were some acetate embellishments from a K & Company packet that I picked up at Michaels.   The artist is Susan Winget; there are 40 acetate and paper adornments in the package and I simply fell head over heels – just the perfect thing to layer on when you need a quick card.  I didn’t have many supplies available to me while gone, so these certainly fit the bill.  In fact, the birdcage on my card today is another example of one of the acetates.  Mystery solved!!

WRBF-3683-2012
I pulled together a quick card using Spellbinders™ Arched Window One with the new crosses background from Spellbinders™ Reverence M-Bossabilities Folder – Side B.  This is another for my slightly depleted stash.  I stamped “For Our Pastor” from an Our Daily Bread Designs set called Fellowship Sentiments – it fit perfectly on the new Spellbinders™ Framed Tags One.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Fellowship Sentiments
Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White 80lb, Coredinations, K&Company
Ink: Amuse – Eucalyptus
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Arched Window OneSpellbinders™ Framed Tags OneSpellbinders™ Reverence M-Bossabilities Folder – Side B, Seam Binding, Maya Roads Trinket Pin, Recollections Button
, Becca’s Bow Maker

Thanks so much for your patience while I was out of pocket.  Happy Crafting!!

Happy Valentine’s Day Becca! Your gift of doing these kits has been a present each time to all who saw them online, as well as those who ordered them. Every thing in life comes and goes at some point, and there is no set rule on the time limit. The fact that you took on this enormus task and offered it to everyone, is a gift all by its self. And I’m sure everyone who received them on their door step, felt like it was a gift just for them individually, from you. And I’m sure it was, because you do everything with love and the Spirit of God, and it is felt within. Am just sooooo glad to hear that we will all continue to enjoy your blog creations, and to know that you are spending more of your time in your craft room, doing what you love to do, and share with all of us. A big heartfelt thanks to you and for being able to carry on life’s journey with you in so many ways. Many more blessings to you as always.ReplyCancel

Good morning blog friends!  I’m overwhelmed by your reaction to the box I last posted.  Many of you asked where the tutorial will be posted and I’m sure it will be on YouTube, so keep a look out.  Of course if you are subscribed, you’ll get a notification ;-)  In the meantime I have a card to share today and a short post.   My card base was made using Spellbinders™ 5 x 7 Matting Basics A  – I knew by using a template instead of manually cutting, the sides in reference to the bottom would be square – perfection!  My card is 4-7/8″ x 6-7/8″.    I created a small panel using Spellbinders™ M-Bossibilities™ Infinity (Side A) –  don’t you just love the subtle elegant texture it adds to a card without overwhelming?  I’ve always been an embossing folder fan but set them aside for a while for a fling with design paper.  They are definitely back in my heart :-)
WRBF-3681-2012
I keep coming back to the new borders – I think I’m addicted – they add so much elegant flare and can be tucked anywhere.  I added Spellbinders™ A2 Bracket Borders One underneath my textured panel then added my lace and seam binding with bow on top.  Last, I added the sweet sentiment from Quietfire Design using the 2013 Valentines Day Stamp Set.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – 2013 Valentines Day Stamp Set
Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White 80lb, Coredinations, K&Company

That is a beautiful card! How did you cut out the flourish at the top? It looks like part of it is hanging in mid-air?ReplyCancel

Love, love , love this card. So beautiful.
I too want to know about the bird and the background behind it with the
writing, flourish and stamp on it. I read over and over the list of products
and couldn’t see anything on these two things, except a mention of
    k & co.
Could you please tell us about the bird and its immediate background
    on your next post?ReplyCancel
