WRBF-3674-2012
Sweet blog friends, I’ve had a busy morning and took a couple of seconds to finish up a project I started the other day.   This is the kind of project I love to do, you see I have  slight addiction to little boxes and use enclosure cards as much as I do full size cards.  It was soooo very simple to make and was one of the times I look at a die template and thought “I wonder if…”  Well, actually the wondering worked out.  I wanted to make a box or box top out of Spellbinders™ Enchanted Labels Twenty Eight – I  just thought that the filigree would wrap around to make a delicious embellishment.  On the inside are 8 enclosure cards that measure 3″ x 4″ – the box is roughly 3.25″ x 4″.
WRBF-3676-2012
Above the top is off and on the front I’ve embossed with Spellbinders™  Harlequin M-Bossabilities™ folder which I embellished with tiny pearls.  The top is similarly embellished with pearls.
WRBF-3677-2012
On the inside are little enclosure cards made from a digital download I got somewhere.  I actually never intended to use them but I got my daughter one of those inexpensive inkjet printers and this was a test page I printed.  Well, waste not :-)
WRBF-3678-2012
For the eight cards I simply layered them on a harlequin texture embossed background and added a snippet of lace – simple!!
WRBF-3679-2012
Finally, I finished off with a small tag from   Spellbinders™ Back to Basics Tags, and stamped You are Blessed from Fellowship Sentiments.  I can see working this box up in a number of ways – I hope to have a tutorial worked up on it when I get back home.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread DesignsFellowship Sentiments

Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Enchanted Labels Twenty Eight, Spellbinders™  Harlequin M-Bossabilities™ folderSpellbinders™ Back to Basics Tags, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Recollections Flat Pearls, Becca’s Bow Maker

A note of thanks to you all – you all give me constant inspiration and I’m so very thankful!  Hugs and see you soon!

Oh, you took my breath away with this box! I, too, am crazy about little containers/boxes and would have a zillion if not for some measure of sanity not to buy every one I saw. A tutorial on this just HAS to be in the works as there won’t be one of us that wouldn’t want to learn to make one of these beauties. It is just so beautiful and sweet. Who wouldn’t want to get this as a gift!ReplyCancel

A group of us girls who get together once a week have decided that at least once a month someone of us will give a class on a papercrafting item. Think I will use this when my turn comes up!! I make the 4″ square ones out of 1 sheet of 12″ x 12″ paper with a form fitting lid to match or co-ordinate with the box.
Your little cards are just precious and together with box would make a wonderful little gift!!

  • […] Hi there blog friends!  I’m keeping my promise and I might add that I’m tickled to do so.  Not to long ago while I was away I made a sweet little box – and enclosed eight little cards.  It was so easy to make that it may be my go-to box instead of the 3″ x 3″ I normally make.  Well, I thank you for your patience, I finally sat down and made up more samples and filmed a video to walk you though it.  The box has lots of possibilities and even though the one I make in the video is the same as I made before, the one that I’m showing here has an alternative lid.  Once you watch the video, if you are interested in how to do this lid, it is the same except I glued the throwaway pieces from the die back into place.   The original post with my first box is at this link:  https://www.amazingpapergrace.com/box-of-blessings/ […]ReplyCancel

WRBF-3670-2012
First of all, let me say that the StampingTop50 situation has been resolved and there are no longer any warnings when trying to access www.amazingpapergrace.com.  I was unable to get to the area on my blog to change this because I’m traveling and was not in a secure area.  I’ve done scans to both my computer and my site and all come up clean.  It was indeed a problem with StampingTop50 and not my blog.  Now, back to the regular craft stuff I love . . . sweet blog friends, you’ll call me crazy but I’m always looking for a new style of card and today I’m high five-ing the dogs (my only companions on this rainy day) because I overcame a little stumbling block that almost made me trash this card.   I’m so in love with the new expandable Spellbinders patterns so for my card front I used Spellbinders™ Grateful Lattice.  I wanted to be able to see through the lattice like really looking though lattice in a gsrden so I used a gorgeous new background stamp by JustRite Papercrafts called French Rose Background.   Below is what it looks like laying down or coming out of the envelope.  Did you notice that there is no place to handwrite something to the recipient?  Well, this had me stumped for a little bit, so follow along :-)
WRBF-3673-2012
Below is the ‘faux’ inside of the card.    I didn’t want to try to stamp the background stamp twice, I added a border at the top using Spellbinders™ A2 Bracket Borders One.  You’ll notice a little notch there on the bottom?
WRBF-3671-2012
Below I’m flippping the layer up so you can see the ‘real’ inside of the card.  I made that notch so that the recipient will know there is another layer.
WRBF-3672-2012
So then underneath I can write my wishes; a fully functional card, but yet a way to showcase a truly wonderful background.  The Grateful Lattice is one of my favs!!  I used the Spellbinders™ Back to Basics Tags for the cute little tag on the front that holds my sentiment (from the Enjoy the Day set) and used a different tag from the same set to cut the half oval notch on the bottom of the card.  Today my lesson is to keep at it, and persevere – there’s always a solution, it’s just waiting for you to find it!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Papercrafts – French Rose Background,  Enjoy the Day
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White.
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx
AccessoriesSpellbinders™ Grateful Lattice, Spellbinders™ A2 Bracket Borders One,  Spellbinders™ Back to Basics Tags, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Maya Roads Triple Pearl Pin, Recollections Flat Pearls, Recollections Button, Darice Pearls, Bow Maker

Thanks for hanging in there!!  I’ll be back soon.

A beauty of a card with such a clever solution to the insert. I have created similar cards with cut away fronts on to a pretty background and ended up putting the greeting/sentiment on the back of the card, as I was stumped as to how to resolve this dilemma. I love your way much better, it finishes it perfectly and the clever idea of adding a notch to draw the attention to the message below, so cleverly.
Thanks so much for all the beautiful inspiration and clever ideas.
I’m glad the computer glitch is sorted now too.ReplyCancel

  • Dottie DavisJanuary 31, 2013 - 5:33 am

I have always loved these see through dies but always just adhered it to the under paper. Your solution solves the problem of hiding beautiful printed paper so well. I even thought of putting a tab off to the right of the printed paper with a sentiment on top and flipped with my signature. But, I like this solution so much that I am going to try it myself. Thanks for the inspiration as this card is just beautiful.ReplyCancel

WRBF-3669-2012
Sweet blog friends, yesterday I made a birthday card for little girls and so wanted to make a matching one for little boys.  I rarely make masculine cards because I love to use my pearls and lace and bows :-)  As of late, my answer to that dilemma is to just go with the flow, and be me – pearls, and bows and all.  So I’m ready in case any of the little fellas I know have a birthday.  I suspect that someone that age is just thrilled to get a card and doesn’t think what’s on it long enough to object, right?  This month Our Daily Bread Designs  came up with two sets, one for Little Girs, this one is called Little Boys.

WRBF-3668-2012
For this card, I reached out to use one the new Spellbinders™ On The Edge to put the tiny border around the edge of my top layer.  I then used the middle element from Spellbinders™ Enchanted Labels to stamp the little boy and the sentiment.  Lastly I put flourishes in the two leftmost corners from Spellbinders™ Marvelous Squares.  Yep, I finished off with pearls and a bow ;-)

SUPPLIES I USED
StampsOur Daily Bread Designs – Little Boys
Paper
: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White, My Minds Eye, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine – Onyx Black
Accessories: Spellbinders™ On The Edge,Spellbinders™ Enchanted Labels, Spellbinders™ Marvelous Squares,  Recollections FiligreeSatin Ribbon, Recollections Flat Pearls, Bow Maker, clear embossing powder

As much as I love to tailor my cards to the recipient – there’s nothing like having a card at the ready!!

Another gorgeous card here Becca. I love these silouet stamps here, they really looks great and sooo pretty. I´ve seen on many blogs out there, that they seems to be pretty in for the moment from all compagnies, and I admit, I really like the look of these all black silouettes on the colored backgrouns and I have seen some really awesome ones, and I certainly love both this and the last one you shared yesterday for the girls too. Awesome work here again hun.ReplyCancel

I truly agree it is always great to have a “stash” of cards on hand, however I never to seem to get ahead except I keep quite a few of my signature Sympathy cards as I always feel you need to get them out in a timely manner. However, I tend to do my birthday ones specific to the person. I have to keep my birthday book up to date.
Love this card along with the Little Girl one you did the other day. I don’t do a lot of stamping but love the silhoutte of the kids. I use a Cricut cartridge for my silhouttes.
Hope you have a delightful, crafty day.

Hey Becca. I make mini albums from coffee sleeves
and was wondering if you could design a die cut to
Use to cut out the paper. Right now I trace around
them but would be so much easier with a die cut. Also
mini tags for them would be great. Thank you. I’m
sure they would be something other crafters would
