Yay, I love the first post of a new year, so here I am blog friends, and here you are too.  I guess that means the year is off to a great start!!  What better way to start a new year off than with a blog hop to celebrate some new stamps!!  If you got here from Graces blog, then you are in the right place – if not, you may want to zip right over to the ODBD Blog so that you can get your bearings.  As is normally the case with our hops there are prizes!!  The Hop will run from Jan 1 at 8:00am EST to Jan 2 8:00pm EST – with winners being announced on January 3.  Tell them what they will win Vanna!!  There are Three Prizes of $20.00 Gift Certificates each and one Grand Prize of a $75.00 gift certificate all toward stamps in the ODBD Store!  Simply leave a comment on each of the designers blogs and the ODBD Blog and that will put you in the running.

For my project today I was feeling vintag-y.  I cut a digital piece of paper and rimmed it with a Gold Leafing pen before adding a Lace skirt; I tied silk ribbon around the lace skirt.  I backed the focal panel up with a border from a Martha Stewart Punch.  My sentiment is cut from ODBD Antique Labels and matching stamps – Antique Labels Designs, then I used a wedding sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments.  So now to get to your next stop on the blog hop, you’re off to visit with the ever so sweet Sandee!!

By the way, if you didn’t read my post from yesterday, then you’ll want to know that something special is kicking off here on my blog at Midnight tonight (wink-wink).  You will not want to miss it.  Now with a hint like that you just know it has to include something spectacular.   I’m sooooo stinkin’ excited.
Hope you make your way back – whew, it’s busy in blogland today  :-)

I couldn’t help but put in one more last post of the year – 2012 for a fitting send off for 2012 and a huge welcome for 2013.    Happy New Year blog friends!!   I’m looking forward with great anticipation to 2013 and all the possibilities it will yield.  Thanks so much for hanging in there with me throughout the year and all the wonderful changes that came my way.   On the same hand, you never know what’s around the corner – remember as I say, something good is always on the way!!!

In fact, something kind of cool will be going here at Midnight tomorrow night, January 1st.  Remember, it’s ‘that‘ time of year when exciting new products appear, exciting new prizes are given and other good stuff (insert knowing grin here)!  So, you’ve been tickled and hinted, be sure to come back to have a look see.  In the meantime, I’ll be back tomorrow morning with a card for a blog hop.

It’s my honor and pleasure to chat with you all every day and I’m so thankful for friends near and far!  Thanks again for a fun and stellar 2012, {{BIG HUGS}}!!

I pray you and your family will be blessed this year and always. It has been a pleasure having someone to keep in touch with and to know I am not alone in the trial and struggles of this life. I only wish that I will someday be able to handle my trials and struggles with the same grace you do. Once upon a time I had the faith of a lion , and through it all, I was the rock of the family, but I am afraid I am wavering and am need of much prayer. God’s Word comforts me but my heart is heavy and tired. It has been a long and tiresome life. I pray that my zest and joy will once again surface and I can get over the saddness and weariness that has overtaken me. Thank you my friend for being an unseen ear that does not judge and a place I can express my feelings. You are blessed with more than a talent of making beautiful cards. Greetings blog friends!  I have an all purpose, feel good, friend card to share with one of my favorite sentiments.   Actually, now that I think about it, it’ll probably be a great card for my sweet girl or would work well for an anniversary.  I glammed it up a little bit but there’s no doubt it’s girly.  I used Some People Come Into Our Lives from Quietfire Design – truly a staple in my stamp stash!  How many times have you bought this sentiment on a store bought card?  Since it’s one I do at least once a year, it lives here now :-)

I created a cross piece vertically and horizontally using Spellbinders™ Classic Petal Edgeabilities and Spellbinders™ Decorative Insert Six Edgeabilities.   I layered my sentiment on Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five and backed it with Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs.   I tied a bow with some tulle and skinny satin ribbon and layered on some mulberry roses and a crystal button.  The neatest thing about the sentiment is that it is actually two stamps – the second is a companion stamp and is designed for the inside.  So, on the inside bottom, I stamped the small inside sentiment.  I rarely do the inside of cards, but this pair makes it a no-brainer!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – Some People Come Into Our Lives
Paper: K & Company, Coredinations, The Paper Company
Ink: Amuse – French Roast
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Classic Petal Edgeabilities, Spellbinders™ Decorative Insert Six EdgeabilitiesSpellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five, Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs, satin ribbon, cream tulle, , Recoleections Half Pearl Stickers, Mulberry Roses, Maya Roads Triple Pearl Pin, Bazzill Button, Teardrop Pearl, Lace,
 Bow Maker

Blessings to you!!  I’ll see you soon!

Truly a beautiful card just like the lady who created it!! The underlayment paper is just the right touch. One thing I have been meaning to ask is: Is there anyway in your supplies used (which I love) could you put the size of the card? Things don’t always come out right if you don’t know the correct size and have to squeeze where you shouldn’t have. LOL
Hoping that 2013 will be even more successful for you than 2012.
    Hugs,
    Mstgane

I have that same verse on a poster that I hang in my craft room. I lost my sister 3 years ago, she was 71. I miss her every day, every hour. I know she’s with me all the time. I look for signs, which may sound dumb. But she does send them to me. She has left permanent footprints in my heart. I know you understand, Becca. Have a blessed New Year.ReplyCancel

I love this one–the sentiment, the background paper, and the whole layout. Your wonderful creations always amaze me. I never get tired of viewing them even the ones you’ve done from way way back. And most of all your pleasing persona makes me all the more admire you. I hope the blessings of the Lord be with you in the coming year. Take care.ReplyCancel
