Hi there blog friends!  Popping in to show a tiny shaped card that was a cinch to put together.  I resort to something like this when I know I have several to make and know they can be (semi-) mass produced.  I’ll have a handful of these go along with some baked cookie and bread gifts as well as some hot cocoa gift sets I keep on hand.  If I can catch my sweet UPS driver delivering something, then, the gifties are sitting right by the door!  I pulled the sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs, it’s called Snowflake Sentiments

My goal was to cut all the dies in one pass and then I have everything ready for the assembly and gluing.  I started with a card base using Spellbinders™ Jar Labels (cut while doubled).  On top of that I placed the filigree element and deer from Spellbinders™ Frosty Forms.  The label from the sentiment was cut from Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Eight.   Unlike the larger cards I tend to make, this little one comes in just under 5″ wide by 4″ tall – perfect for an A2 envelope :-)

Ink: Amuse – Cranberry, French Roast

Really love this one, Becca. First, I’m a sucker for reindeer and second, A2 size cards are the preferred size for Operation Write Home. Since I never know which of my cards I’m going to end up sending to OWH, I almost always make A2’s. Thanks for posting this one!

Hugs to you blog friends!!!  I hope you are having a crafty holiday weekend.  As promised, I’m back with a card.  Of course this wasn’t possible without first sitting down to try to get the cobwebs from between my fingers – I’m rusty at this.  It’s a joyous day though and I’m showering you all with love.  What a glorious feeling to have new stamps and someone in mind for a pick me up in their mailbox (insert mischievous elf smile here).  Even though I missed the release, Our Daily Bread Designs had the most yummy new Christmas stamps for their release this month – I’m sharing one with you today from the Snowy Blessings set (oh how I love tall skinny sentiments!).

On the corner of my desk I have bits and pieces of cards I want to make.  Usually it’s one element that’s stuck in my mind and the rest falls in place when I make it.  For months I knew I wanted to use this new D-Lite (single dies at a great price :-)), Spellbinders™ Flourish Trim as a vertical frame.  It worked out perfectly for a holiday card.  On top of it I layered a thin panel then popped up Spellbinders™ Decorative Labels Eight and finished by stamping my sentiment on Spellbinders™ Fancy Framed Tags One.    Did you know that I’m a foam tape addict?  Yep, I popped up the red layer, the combined cream and green print layer, the combined Flourish/Red/Candy Stripe print layer and finally the combined red labels eight/fancy framed tags layer – that makes four.  Although this card works out just as well flattened down to one layer – if you’re iffy about layers, I encourage you to give it a try.  It gives your cards just a little bit of umph!  If you’re afraid of heights, then just try one or two layers :-)  Any other foam tape addicts out there?

Oh – as for foam tape…yep, I love it. But only one or two layers. As almost all of my cards are mailed, I have to limit myself on the depth of my cards. I rarely put bows on for that reason. A smuhshed bow kind of ruins the effect.ReplyCancel

I’m so grateful to be easing my way back!  I made it through surgery with a couple of hiccups but if anything they were precious reminders that life is not to be taken for granted and that through the course of our lives – everything is a choice.  I’ve felt well enough to get back at the computer perhaps as early as a week ago but have spent a lot of time thinking and planning how to savor the things I love to do, how to make time for the family and people who have time for me, how to treat and expect to be treated with worth and finally, how to take better care of myself.  The doctor and I had a heart to heart talk about stress and how it affects your health.  I believe him, no arm twisting here!   Thankfully and gratefully, writing and posting my crafty endeavors here on my blog is one of the things I truly savor – it is a stress reliever.    You sweet readers have always been engaging, delightfully enthusiastic and always full of well wishes.   Thanks for waiting so patiently as I get back to normal.  Thanks so much for checking on me and the wonderful emails!  Thanks so much for being you!!

I’ll be back with a card tomorrow but in the mean time, did you know that Spellbinders is hosting a fabulous contest??  Yep, time is running out, I’m sharing the details here because there’s $$ involved and after this time of the year, some extra in the ole pocket may come in handy :-)

So happy to read that you are on the mend. Now you need to listen to the Dr (heaven’s I hate to say that!) and to your own body. While we miss you terribly, we’d rather wait to have you back till you are truly healed. We want to keep you around you see! So do what feels good, relax and enjoy the season of Miracles, Christmas.

You have been missed, but you have also been in my daily prayers. They are beautiful and I just couldn’ t seem to stop working on them. Take care, follow your doctor’s orders, and come back to us when you are ready.ReplyCancel

Glad your doctor had a hear=to=heart on stress. It is indeed a serious factor in the health we enjoy or don’t enjoy! Glad all is going well – great time to reflect on life, on friends, on all aspects of your life. Your faith is such an inspiration and I know it is the fiber that binds life together for you and yours. Loved seeing your full photo in the tribute to Randi this week. What an inspiration she has been to so many, and has at last found the lasting peace she so deserves. Keep mending and keep well.ReplyCancel

After not seeing anything new on your blog my mind raced around wondering what was up…well here it is. Surgery. Another learning time in the recuperating process. Though we don’t like physical problems there is something to be said about them being our teachers. God is faithful to educate us on every note, and at such times after surgery when we are still and quiet, we hear better. Strange but true. So, I do ask God to help you heal and to bless you with greater knowledge of Him and to see His great love for you.ReplyCancel

Becca, I hope your feeling better…. About four weeks ago I had to put my horse down… Only had him for about 9 months… Beautiful guy, Pinto! Had this amazing personality that all the kids in the barn just loved… But I knew in my spirit I had to let him go, tried everything! The day before we were going to do this we were attacked terribly by people in the barn and in three towns in my area….Words are so hurtful and you can’t take them back… I said all of this to say how stress affected me so much through it all… I had first to give it to God and try to relieve my stress some how, cuz I know longer could ride my 17 hands NSH… I’m standing in Faith because of so many changes in my life.. being 56, and my hubby 67….I just wanted to say how much I admire you and your words… Your strong Faith in our Savior.. I pray that your have a Wonderful Christmas and wish that we you could just by for a cup of coffee and cookies!!!! LOVE AND HUGS. forgive my spelling..ReplyCancel
