Sweet blog friends, I hope you are primed to have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  It is hard to keep thoughts from settling on all the things there are to be grateful for – it’s uplifting to carry those same thoughts throughout the year.  Please know how grateful I am for each of you.  Just recently I was recapping the past couple of years to someone I just met and my blog friends kept rising to the top of the list!!  In the meantime, as we sashay through the holiday season, it was very apparent to me that I don’t have nearly enough hand made cards in my Christmas Card stash.  One card at a time is so managable, so I whittled away at one while I watched my taping of The Voice.  I picked a sweet sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs  from the Chickadee Ornament set.


I was looking for darker tones so once the paper was set, I looked to my ribbon.  So often you all ask the color I’ve used and this time I remember because it’s one of my favorite vintage colors of Hug Snug called Leather Tan.  I paired it up with Spellbinders™ Resplendent Rectangles and Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five on top of which I stacked Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals and finished up with Spellbinders™  Fancy Tags Two.   Scrounging through the dollar bin at Michael’s yielded the dark red poinsettia.    They say that ‘the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step” so my slow walk forward helps me add a simple card to my stash.  I am indeed realizing that if I wait too long – Christmas will be over and done with ;-).  Even though I may not have time to pull everything out, I bit off a small chunk and got done what I could – what about you.  Is there anything that holds you back from crafting?  I hope the coming days find you taking care of the moments that bring you a small victory of accomplishment!

    Becca, I just love your cards. I am a card maker from Singapore and I think your cards are so beautiful. They really inspire me to create beautiful cards as well. As you say, I have not been crafting for the past couple of weeks. Too many things to attend to and not enough inspiration I guess. I am still short of Christmas cards and really must get going but there are so many lovely dies and stamps out there just calling my name and I get distracted from the actual work of creation.     Beautiful Becca. I am usually way ahead in the Christmas card game but this year I’ve barely made a dent! I have decided to take a folding table upstairs into the lounge tonight, together with my Grand Calibur, and start doing some diecutting. I am always reproducing your cards and giving them to my family or friends, and I always end up making some for them for them to give to people, I always make sure I let them know who you are and where to go. I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving, I will be happy and sad my mother passed away last year the day after Thanksgiving from cancer we were home with her but she had already gone into her coma ( a blessing for her, no pain) so she was with us but not with us. I am going to try to remember her and all the love she gave us and try to be happy for her. Hello there blog friends!  Whoosh!  That’s the sound of the month rushing by and I feel like we just turned the corner – it’s already mid-November and Thanksgiving is a stones throw away.  If you are like me, I wake up about a week or two before Christmas and the flurry of activity starts.  I wouldn’t trade it for anything – I love this time of the year!  Speaking of mid-November – it’s time to release a new kit!!  This is our 4th Kit and it begins shipping on December 1st.  No worries if you are not a member – if you want to try just one kit to see if you like it.  I will say these kits are a bit different from what I’ve seen elsewhere – it’s not just a collection of things shipped to you for you to figure out how to use.  Each item in the kit belongs to a project that you are led through making – this kit has 5 made items.  When you are done, you still have the stamps, die templates and surplus supplies – you can craft to your hearts desire.  There are step – by – step pictured instructions  to lead you through each project and of course, you are always welcome to change it up and make it your own.  It works especially well for someone who doesn’t have time to design and it’s a fabulous opportunity to try products you might not have on hand.

I also wanted to let you know that I have to have some surgery at the end of November.  You may still see me post but for those of you who are members in the kit club – we will take a one month break to let me recuperate.  I’m not good (at all) with stuff like this so I’d ask you to keep me in your prayers.  I’m a pretty tough gal, but need to take care of my health, then get back to the crafting I love!  The next kit reveal will be on January 15, shipping on February 1st.   Dies and stamps are already designed  for this kit and I promise you, it will be worth waiting for.  In the mean time, here’s a little more what in this month’s kit. :-)

Hi there blog friends!!  I hope you had a glorious week!  As you know, I’ve spent a good deal of the week with my hands in ink – really, it’s been like a little vacation.  Today I’m back with a traditional Christmas card and some Sweet Treats!!  So, welcome to the November Blog Waltz for Waltzingmouse Stamps.  This week we’ve been previewing a slew of adorable new stamp sets.  (Hint: There are a lot of new – free- cut files to match stamps for this release.  Be sure you snag them while you are on Claire’s Blog).   Here are the sets you can now see in full – here.  If you jumped in the middle of our list, the best way to make your way through the hop is to start at Claire’s Blog (she has lots of news to share so you don’t want to miss beginning there) – she has the complete sequence if you get out of order or if one of the links don’t work. For my Christmas card I’m using Compliments of the Season 2 and the Vintage Christmas Backgrounder.  I popped my sentiment up on Spellbinders™ Picot Edge Circles and Waltzingmouse Opera Tags Compatible Dies and trimmed the Picot Edge Circle to match the Opera Tag.

The other set I’m showing today is called Candy Wagon.  It’s as sweet as can be!!  I simply stamped the wagon, cut out (using Waltzingmouse free ‘cut files’) and mounted on a box and cut a matching hole.  After filling with treats and attaching a stamped tag – this is ready to go!

Lol, aren’t these the cutest?  Can’t you imagine dropping one of these off to a little buddy who is under the weather?  That would be an immediate ‘perk up’ if you ask me!

One of my boxes is filled with caramels and other with starlights – just those addictive kinds of candies that are bound to get eaten every time you happen to pass the box. . . (snicker)!   I just can’t tell you that these candies weren’t harmed in the making of this blog post because it just ain’t so – I put a hurtin’ on the caramels, lol!
