This week is a release week for Waltzingmouse Stamps with new sets – in time for Christmas too.  Today I have a very traditional card using a new set called Compliments of the Season 2.  Today is just a preview and the full sets will be released and available on Friday,November 2nd.  Using the vintage looking ‘Merry Christmas sentiment’, I stacked it on Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals SM and stacked that on Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals.  The bottom of the card is embellished with one of my favorite flowers – Spellbinders™ Jewel Flowers and Flourishes.

The flowers are formed by burnishing with the end of a stylus with a large ball end.  McGill has a nice set that I reach for often.

(I love how I can get a couple of different looks out of that flower!)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps – Compliments of the Season 2
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Cream 80lb, Authentique – Merry
Ink: Colorbox – Chianti
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals SMSpellbinders™ Floral Ovals,   Spellbinders™ Jewel Flowers and Flourishes, Satin Ribbon, Recollections Pearls

Thoughts remain with our friends and family who were impacted by the hurricane and the storms. The devastation is heartbreaking, but please know this too shall pass. Just want to let you know we’re all thinking of you.  It inspired a card which I think this is more of a reminder for me than something to send out.  I reached for one of the embossing folders – Spellbinders™ Ornamental Iron; once embossed I swiped across the top with a Colorbox White Pigment ink pad – I really liked the subtle look that give while bumping up the look of the embossing.  I crafted a cross piece using Spellbinders™ Floral Doily Accents and finished off with another Die D-Lite – Spellbinders™ Frame One.

I say this often, but I’ll say it again – I love using embossing folders!!   I should probably use them more often.  I spend way to much time trying to find just the right piece of design paper and when you use an embossing folder, it’s so easy to customize and save the time lost hunting the right paper :-)

Paper: American Crafts Paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Ornamental Iron, Spellbinders™ Floral Doily AccentsSpellbinders™ Frame One, Ribbon, Recollections Pearls

Sweet blog friends – my prayers go out to you if you were affected by the monster storm. Please stay safe and I hope that your area is restored as soon as possible.  Once we were without power for five days after a hurricane and I was inspired to catalog all my stamps during that outage because it’s kind of a manual task a-hem . . . that I had been putting off.  In the meantime, I’m loving these sweet little Spellbinders Die D-Lites.  I’ve been playing around with them for the past month and they are sweet little die templates that are sold separately and are good on the budget :-)  You may wonder why you are just seeing them now – they were just released this week.  If you just can’t stand it, cover your eyes and when you are brave enough, take a peek HERE.  (I am dying to know what you think of them – really!!)  The D-Lite I’m using is called Spellbinders™ Medallion Two and I layered it with Spellbinders™ Twisted Metals Tags and Accents.  I pulled them together in a card featuring a wonderful border concept where JustRite Papercrafts created stamps to match Spellbinders Edgeabilities.  Here, Ive taken JustRite Papercrafts Classic Embroidered Edges Two (so delicate and reminds me of lace) and paired it with Spellbinders™ Classic Edges Two and polished it off with a sentiment from the Large Fancy Sentiments set.

Yes, purple is an odd color for me – but over the last year I’ve come to embrace it.    I raided my fabric stash for the sheer lilac embroidery used on the card.  I simply cut the bottom part away and used the edge – a wonderful find because it was just sitting around :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Papercrafts – Classic Embroidered Edges TwoLarge Fancy Sentiments
Paper: Coredinations, Die Cuts with a View,  Neenah Classic Crest Cream 80lb
Ink: Amuse Latte, Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Medallion Two ,Spellbinders™ Twisted Metals Tags and Accents, Spellbinders™ Classic Edges Twoseam binding,  Recollections Pearls

As always, thanks so much for your kind words!!  They are so appreciated!

You are using more and more color these days and it is wonderful, but then, all your cards are wondrful. I love your flowers on the most recent card. I never thought to not open the petals and use it closed as a bud-brilliant!ReplyCancel
