May you grow old like beautiful lace, cherished and treasured and cared for with grace.  Doesn’t that just remind you of your sweet grandmother?  I lived with my grandmother when I was five and six years old so that I could go to school before the cut off date.  So, on the farm I learned many things; she started me out with a love of the handmade, sewing and quilting.  She taught me how to care for and respect our treasured heirlooms so that they might endure to be spoken about again with another generation.   Bits and pieces of that past found their way into my new designs this month.  I wanted a vintage frame, and the shape will seem familiar – it’s one I designed for my new logo although I had sketched it out for a die some time ago.    The fun part of the collection are the extra dies which work wonderfully to make a gift – they are spool toppers.  I thought it would be a special gift  to customize a spool set using the unfinished wooden spools you get at the local craft store – these are also going to come in handy also for making custom buttons.  Last of all there is a bobbin form for winding on a bit of  trim, ribbon, lace or bakers twine.   Come along and you can see what I made to go in the kit – the pictures are below and the link to the kit has a much more detailed view of the Vintage Spool Box.

There are a number of kits available that haven’t been promised to members and are an opportunity to try before you decide on a membership . . .

For the first month, we had to decide on an initial number and there are still several September Kits Available:  Becca’s September 2012 Kit

So many of you wrote when you received your kits a couple of weeks ago.  Thank you so much – I was so thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed opening the box and seeing all the goodies inside.  Do me a favor and share your honest thoughts of the kit – there’s a place to leave a review CLICK HERE (then go to the bottom of the page).

Ahem, I know this seems so commercial but thank you — the kits are allowing me the opportunity to keep on crafting.  Thanks for letting me gush about my memories.  The designs I’ve created are things that are special to my heart and I haven’t been able to find anywhere else.  I hope you enjoy or stop by to see what else you can do with the kit.  Cause you know we’re all about stretching it out, making it last and using it as many ways as we can!!

Hugs to you all, thanks for stopping by today!!  I’m a tiny bit under the weather, but health willing, I’ll be back tomorrow with a project :-)

Becca, I love your designs …and begged my daughter to let me use her credit card as I didn’t see PayPal and I’m over 70. I don’t want to leave my kids credit card bills so I pay off what I use her card for by the next month—except when I bought the medical scooter. I did it over 3 months. The bad news—I was so sorry to see that this set of stamps were “clear” The description said cler AND cling so I signed up even though I hate “clear” sets. They just do not produce the saame results as rubber “cling” stamps. Please, please, please push for the better “cling” sets. Your designs DESERVE only the FINEST.ReplyCancel

I was out of town when my first kit arrived and couldn’t wait to get home when my husband told me it had arrived! Even though it was late when I returned last night, I opened it. I just could not resist the urge to “do something” so I began cutting out. Today I have set aside a little time between chores to play. Everything is lovely – my only problem is that I don’t own many inks and I would appreciate it if they were also included. They could be those little tear drop size. I am so happy to have joined your kit club and doublely happy that I can do anything to keep you crafting and sharing your tallents! Thank you so much.ReplyCancel

I was writing a blog about your kits, and when hyper-linking back to your blog….was so surprised the second kit was being introduced.

I am in love with my subscription!!!! (12 months) and my first package!  Becca, you outdid yourself.  These are way more valuable than what you are charging, for the simple reason…..you can use it over and over and over again…..because you added the dies and stamps.  Thank you so much!!!!!

Hello there blog friends!  Busy month!  I haven’t been here to blog but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working :-)  In fact, my new kit (October’s Kit) will be out tomorrow and it features new stamps and a new die template.  If you get a chance, be sure to come by tomorrow – this month there are extra kits that can be purchased without having to get a membership.  It’s a great opportunity to try before you buy a membership but there are a limited number – just sayin’.  So, I have been crafting and in fact I have a card to share today made with a new Lace Background Stamp by JustRite Papercrafts.  I stamped it onto gingham design paper and layered it on top of Spellbinders™ Resplendent Rectangles for a fancy border.  Now the die is not big enough to border the entire panel so I simply cut it twice.  Make it work, right?  Stretch those dies, you know it!!  My card size if 5.5″ x 7″ which is my favorite size these days and it just so happens that’s the size of the Spellbinders™ Grand Large Labels I used to make the card base – one of my favorites because it’s just the right size.

For the beautiful sentiment I pulled from the new JustRite Grand Sentiments set and it fits perfectly on Spellbinders™ Decorative Labels Eight.   I finished off with pearls, a white seam binding bow and a prima rose that I peeled down to be the size I needed :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite PapercraftsGrand Sentiments, Lace Background
Paper: Girls Paperie, Bazzill
Ink: Victorian Velvet Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Resplendent RectanglesSpellbinders™ Grand Large LabelsSpellbinders™ Decorative Labels Eightseam binding, prima rose,  Recollections Pearls, Zva Creative Pearls

Hugs to you all, thanks for stopping by today — see ya tomorrow :-)

Do you all remember an old song from the 60’s – I’m Gonna Make You Love Me?   I had to laugh because I have a die template that’s been sitting on my desk that I wanted to love but I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do with it.  Every time I’d make a card, it would get into my “let’s try this” pile only to be weeded out because I wasn’t sure where to use it.  Well this weekend that little die template just kept saying ‘I’m gonna make you love me’ and honestly, by the time I was done with it, all I could think was “yep, I do”.   As I put the bow on the card today, that song keeps going through my mind (smile)!!     I reached out for a new Quietfire Design set We Do Not Remember Days – it fit perfectly in the space I carved out for a sentiment!!

So for this card, I prepared my card base (saving the bow for last)  including the corner pieces from Spellbinders™ Asian Accents.  Then I built another layer using Spellbinders™ Floral Oval and finished off by using Spellbinders™ Jar Labels.  Before attaching the last layer, I used Spellbinders™ Diamond Strips and Accents to cut an inlaid pattern on the existing die template cut out and finished up by stamping the first of a two part sentiment.  Once all the edges were tucked under on the die template, I embellished with pearls.

I rarely decorate the inside of my cards because I leave room for writing a letter or note.  This time though, since the sentiment is set up so nicely to use in two different places, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment on the inside on a panel using Spellbinders™ Resplendent Rectangles.

Bless you all for the kindness you always show me, please know I feel it’s a gift I’m so blessed to receive.  I thank you for the moment you take to stop by and I only hope you are able to take some tidbit away that might make your day or your crafting time better.   I feel indebted to the wonderful readers here!!

I am visiting my family in Ohio and one of the first things we did was go to Michael’s for my neice to buy a Grand Calibur. I brought all of my dies with me and my neice and sister were in awe. We have been cutting since Sunday night until the wee hours.
This is just another masterpiece from your most talented hands. My neice just asked me how she can sign up to get your blogs. Guess she is impressed as much as her aunt is. LOL She is very artistic like you so it did not surprise me that she wanted to sign up for your blog. You just have that magical touch and talent that impresses everyone who sees your work..
    God Bless.

I love your cards! I am returning to stamping after having been physically impaired for quite awhile. However, I have followed your tutorials, etc. with great interest and appreciation. This morning I found out you live in Pleasant Grove! Oh, my goodness, I live in American Fork…in fact, I live very near the road which is American Fork on one side and Pleasant Grove on the other. Thank you, thank you for all that you put on the site. It will make it even more interesting to know you live near. Aren’t the red leaves spilling down our mutual mountains spectacular. They come further down each day. We live in a glorious area. Sincerely MaryCarolynReplyCancel

BECCA THIS IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE CARDS THAT YOU
USUALLY MAKE. IF I DIDNT SEE YOUR NAME AND REMARKS ON IT
I WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOU MADE IT. AS FOR MY BROKEN HIP, I
HAVE ONLY 3 MORE WEEKS BEFORE I CAN GET UP AND WALKING
AGAIN. THANK GOODNESS FOR CARD MAKING HOBBY.
