Greetings blog friends!  First of all let me tell you there are some winners to report here!! You’ll remember at the beginning of the month I was interviewed by an on-line papercrafting magazine called Scrap’n Art. They graciously extended free 30 day subscriptions to Amazing Paper Grace readers so they could get in and see the article as well as the breadth of valuable content they offer on a monthly basis.  Well, there was a promise of 10 free one year subscriptions and they’ve given me the names of the winners.   All the necessary changes have been made to extend subscriptions, the winners don’t need to do anything except enjoy.  The winners are:

-Irene Bazell
-Kathy Clement
-Joanne Garland
-Yvonne Gebauer
-Nan Gustafson
-Lorrayne Ingram
-Robyn Josephs
-Glenda Kerr
-Kelly Neis
-Lisa Sackett

I have a card to share today using a fabulous sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs called Bicycle.  Now I have to add, I don’t ever stamp a sentiment without using a Stampamajig and I even use it with clear stamps.  This sentiment as originally seen in the set is one long sentence.   The beauty of stamping makes it such that we can change these things if we want to; this is something I do all the time!  I needed a much more compact area because I wanted to fit into one of the new Spellbinders™  S4-367 Back to Basics Tags.  In looking for something different to do, I added Spellbinders™ Grand Labels Twenty Three behind my focal panel as a border.  I also picked a small flower die template that makes teeny tiny rolled roses from Spellbinders™ Whimsy.  ETA:  The bicycle is not a stamp but a motif on this fabulously masculine My Minds Eye paper that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  The ODBD set does feature a bicycle also!! :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs, Bicycle
Paper:  My Minds Eye, Bazzill, Recollections Kraft
Ink: Amuse French Roast
AccessoriesSpellbinders™  S4-367 Back to Basics Tags, Spellbinders™ Grand Labels Twenty Three, Spellbinders™ Whimsy, Satin Ribbon, Recollections Pearls, pearl brad

Thanks for stopping by and remember, something good is always on the way :-)

Yippee! Can’t believe I won a one year subscription to Scrap n Art! Thank you so much, Becca! I’m very excited!!!

I love the colors you used in this card. That brown satin bow is so dreamy, and makes me want to go get a cup of coffee. Mmmmm….The quote is perfection with the bicycle image.

I just ordered a stamp a ma jig, and can’t wait to start using it. Thanks again, and keep moving!ReplyCancel

Love your card Becca – the colours, craft card and sentiment plus cycle are well suited to ‘male themed’ cards – and we all know how ‘difficult’ these cards are to come up with. tfs

    Hi Becca!

You must like to stay up late! Your e-mail came into my computer at 1:15 am this morning!

I like the direction of your bow today – it’s nice to see different ways bows can be added since I get stuck doing the same thing over and over.

I’d love to know the size of your cards each day; would that be possible? In my mind, you are the absolute BEST designer on the web! I can’t wait each day to see what you have created. Keep up the good work!

    With much admiration,

One truly never understands how much they miss their iPod until they lose it.  I’ve looked high and low for the last month and resigned myself to the fact that someone somewhere in Georgia was probably listening to some great gospel, 80’s music, School House Rock, Yanni, Journey and Rascal Flatts.  Lol, anyone in their right mind would gag and put it down, but it was my beloved ipod, I listened to it every day.  Missing it brought back pictures of Tom Cruise in his airplane during Top Gun after his trusty sidekick Goose met an untimely end.  Tom couldn’t get into his groove without Goose.  I cannot get into my studio groove without my iPod.  HA!!   Until today!  I found it!  I tore my car apart looking for it and when I found it, I did a serious – hope no one was looking – happy dance.  Yeah, my new neighbor I’ve never seen before walked by just at that time.  {Hi! – sheepish wave}.   I’m just sayin’ – it’s been pure bliss in the studio today!  One of the things I finished up was this cleaner and simpler than usual card.  I love the new Spellbinders™ Ribbon Banners LG and thought it would make a great base for a smaller sentiment so I used something from Our Daily Bread Designs new releases called Thank You Sentiments.   The sweet butterflies I used are the new Spellbinders™ Les Papillion.  They are so nice because there’s a filigree portion and a great base that can be stencilled.  Hot Pinkalicious, right?

I’ve been using dark colors and piling things on so much lately that a light, clean card is just like that feeling you get right after you get your hair cut, lol!  No worries I’m still working on CHA stuff but I’m having fun while doing it.  Hope you are having a glorious day!!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Thank You Sentiments
Paper: American Crafts, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Rouge
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Les Papillion, Spellbinders™ Ribbon Banners LG, seam binding, Bazzill Button, button, Want2Scrap Pearls

Sweet friends, thanks so much for stopping by!!

  • Debbie DeRocherJune 27, 2012 - 7:31 pm

We all know what it’s like to loose something that’s important to us. I had been given my grandfather’s medals from the Spanish American war, and I had them in a frame and put it “in a special place” while my family room was getting painted. So foolishly, on the day my husband was having a kidney transplant (and the dr recommended that I stay home rather than get him agitated before the surgery), I decided to clean my basement. Ok, so now I find the frame. But for the life of me, I don’t remember taking them to the safe deposit for safe keeping. I understand the “dance of joy” because I did it when I went to the bank, and to my surprise, found them. I was hysterical crying when I came out of the room to return my box. Tears of joy. Grandpa was watching over me, that’s for sure!ReplyCancel

  • SheriJune 27, 2012 - 7:34 pm

  • Mary SchmidtJune 27, 2012 - 11:21 pm

Back to an old phrase: ” All’s well that ends well!”
I love the butterfly die, but, the banner looks large. I’ll have to look at that one.
I like the simpler card cause that is more the type that I do. I don’t think of all those layers when I FINALLY come up with a card idea. My cards need help, that’s why I look to you for inspiration. I couldn’t possibly come up with all those die combinations that you come up with. Your cards are breathtaking! I so enjoy seeing your cards. I look forward everyday to see what beauty you have created.ReplyCancel

Love the card! So, were you just passing through Georgia when you thought you lost the Ipod, or are you from here? (asks a Georgian)…LOL. Glad you found it. I lose everything, and am very thankful my DH is a patient man that thinks that is just a lovable part of who I am. He spends a great deal of time finding my lost items, that I can never seem to find on my own.ReplyCancel

Love the card and can hardly say it is “simple.” Nothing you do girl, is simple ~ stunning is a much better adjective to describe your work. I have been having a ball getting email almost everyday this week from you. I almost finished 3 cards the other night when we met for our weekly “scrap.” So I guess you have been my inspiration this week!!!!!!!

Good morning blog friends!  Well . . .with all the excitement of the sneak peeks this week, I wanted to show you what happens . . . when one sneak peek meets another!!   (I love it when that happens!!)  Earlier this week Spellbinders revealed Card Creator – a set of die templates that gives you perfect layers for your A2 card.  For CHA,  JustRite Papercrafts is releasing a Christmas Background that matches the Card Creator system and you get to see the sneak peek right now :-).  It conveniently has borders that match the cut lines on Card Creator so that from one background you can cut multiple layers with Card Creator, pop each layer up  to give them dimension, add a sentiment and your card is complete.  That’s my kind of easy.
I’ve been hankering to play around with this, and this stamp was very recently pried from the hands of my sweet mailman.

Now you know I make big cards so I was absolutely thrilled to see that I could still use Card Creator for my layers.  Measuring 5.5″ wide by 6.5″ tall, I used Card Creator for my uppermost layers and for the inside of the card.  I like really tight layers so I used both Spellbinders™ Matting Basics A and Spellbinders™ Matting Basics B.  And for the extra special touch I stamped my sentiment on an accent piece from Spellbinders™ Fancy Ribbon Threader Card Creator.   By looking at the stamp, you can see how the layers separate out – depending on which Card Creators you choose you can cut the frames different ways.  Thanks for letting me show you how I got it inky!!

Here’s a better picture so you can see how the layers break.

I took one of the left over negative frames and used it on the inside of the card.  Below is the Merry Christmas Background Stamp I’m Sneak Peeking today.

Designed to coordinate with Spellbinders™
Card Creator Die Templates S5-131 A2 Matting
Basics A and S5-132 A2 Matting Basics B

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Papercrafts – Merry Christmas Background (CHA Release)
Paper: Die Cuts With A View – Garden Party, Die Cuts With a View – Fairisle Christmas
Ink:  Versafine Vintage Sepia with Clear Embossing Powder, Amuse Cranberry
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Matting Basics A, Spellbinders™ Matting Basics B, Spellbinders™ Fancy Ribbon Threader, Lace, Silk Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Leaf Pen, Recollections Pearls

It’s rainy but cheerful in my corner of the world!  Hope you’re having a great day!!  Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!!

  • Dottie DavisJune 26, 2012 - 1:35 pm

Count me in for taking an online class with you! See we got you going on a new adventure! The layering on this card is awesome! Lots of it to make colors pop! As a side note- is there a way to cut out the middle parts of the layering card stock so it can be used for another card? Seems like a lot of beautiful paper hidden just for an 1/8th of an inch exposure. Just a thought; you know how we all are in the frugality department! This card is beautiful and I can’t wait til the new dies are relased!ReplyCancel

  • Pam HJune 26, 2012 - 1:54 pm

My, my! What will they come up with next? Designers are getting smarter and smarter about what we want. Can you think back to before the different machines came out? How much more technical the objects we create are! I can only imagine. What fun!ReplyCancel

Very classy card, Becca. I’ve got to read more about the new Spellbinders–don’t quite get it yet. Are they basically rectangles that have smaller increments? I’ll dig some more. Anyway, it’s day 5 here of non-stop rain–or rather non-stop waves of it–in west central FL. Are you gettin’ tired of it yet? I think we got spoiled with the perfect winter and spring we had. I don’t know about where you are, but with the waves of rain comes high winds–it’s been a crazy ride…ReplyCancel
