Happy weekend friends!  It’s a rainy day here and I overcame the urge to snuggle up on the sofa with a bottomless cup of coffee, blankets and Netflix to go back and continue cleaning in the studio.  It’s been a wreck for such a long time and I imagine it will never be clean but at least now there’s a wider path to my table than I’ve seen in a long time.  Right now the clutter is a major hindrance but with some good music in tow I took a break to make a sympathy card.  I’m using Paw Prints from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I grabbed my favorite Spellbinders™ Romantic Rectangles and decided to turn it into a square border.  It was an easy feat I might add – I simply cut two Romantic Rectangles and cut each in half.  I adhered them to the back of my main panel taking care to match the pattern and trimming away any excess pattern that might show – you must try this some time!

I stamped my sentiment on one of the fun shapes from Spellbinders™ Labels and Tags the added chalk ink to my die template, reseated my shape and embossed to get the rose colored border.  I mounted the finished sentiment on Spellbinders™ Blossom Tags and Accents.

I finished off with a double bow made with seam binding and silk, tied on the Peg Bow Maker and adorned with a little angel pin!

Hope your room comes together and keeps allowing you to to produce all the gorgeous art that you make. I am always amazed at all that you put together. I s’pose the adage of “Things need to look worse before they look better” come to mind! Is it something in the water? There’s a lot of clearing out and tidying up going on – even over here in Australia it seems people are catching the same “bug”. But don’t you feel good when you go back the next morning – you just Smile, nod and say “Yep!”.

Your card as usual is stunning Becca you have used some of the Spellbinders dies that I didn’t really think about, so have tempted me (again!) to rethink my wish list.

Thanks as always for inspiring us on our particular crafting journeys and for stimulating and reigniting this particular Crafters passion over and over.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,

How very apt your card is. I found your blog last weekend when I saw the dog sympathy cards, they were beautiful. I found “Your daily bread” and ordered them.
I let my dog Chewit go to Rainbow Bridge at 23.30 BST on Thursday 19.04.11. I come onto your blog today and here is the most beautiful sympathy card, almost as if it is there for me to help me along the way. (I know it is not but it is just one of those coincidences of life).

I love your blog, your cards but especially your bows.

Thank you for sharing and bringing some light into people’s lives.

Yes, you gave us some of your sources in a Becca Bit February 2011, but these are definately a cut above. I’m guessing you make them, but I’m itching to learn more. Hi there blog friends, two days in a row!!  I had several things in progress and finished them up – truth is there’s usually an unfinished object on my desk at any given time and I love it when I can actually finish something!  Well, I have a couple of things going on today. . .  First of all, I keep forgetting to mention that next week I’ll be in Ohio at a stamp show!  Yep, I’m going to Adventures in Stamping!!!   If you are in the area, please breeze on by the Our Daily Bread Designs booth – I’ll be showing and talking about Becca’s Peg Bow Maker and I’d love to meet you.

For my card today, I wanted a dresy look and this teal blue/sea foam green color is definitely one of my favorites.. Using the Francis of Assisi set from Our Daily Bread Designs, I stamped the sentiment on Spellbinders™ Lace Doily Motifs and over top I layered a frame made using  Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Two.  With my flowers/bow cluster, I added a couple of leaves from Spellbinders™ Rose Creations and embossed them with  Spellbinders™ So Trendy M-Bossabilities.

I’ve got a pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine — you know that song, right?  Now I won’t be able to get that out of my head.  At any rate, that’s what I had in mind when I created this next project – here’s a little peek.  I wanted to create a fun birthday card that was like a pocket full of sunshine — you’ll have to hop over to the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog after 6:00am Eastern Time to see how my $1.00 Michaels Bargain Bin find fits in.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread DesignsFrancis of Assisi
Paper: Xpedx Brilliant White Coverstock, American Crafts – I Do
Ink: Colorobox Pigment Ink – Sapphire Silk
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Lace Doily Motifs,  Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Two,.   Spellbinders™ Rose Creations,   Spellbinders™ So Trendy M-Bossabilities, seam binding, HL silk flowers, HL pearl pic, Lace

Oh Becca, how beautiful!! I love the colors on your card. The rose buds, how did you make them? They look nothing like the cut outs….. I guess I do not have the imagination you obviously have. And then to read that you are going to be at the stamping convention in Akron….. Yeah!!! I have sent an email to everyone I know that is going to the convention. We so look forward to going to the convention as it is the first event of the spring for us. I have 3 friends I go together with and we make an entire weekend out of it. It is our “Girls weekend out”!! We stay over the weekend so we don’t miss a thing. I am so looking forward to meeting you…… oh, I’ll be the one with the sling on. I had rotator cuff surgery about three weeks ago, but I will be there with bells on. Thank you ever so much for sharing your talent/gift with all of us. I always go to your site first as soon as I get on line. You have wonderful ideas and suggestions and I want to know what we are in store for each day. Hope to see you next weekend. LindaReplyCancel

Becca I did find all the Adventures in Stamping information. This will be my first time going to any craft conventions. I am new at this. I am very excited. Hi Becca,
A lovely clean and fresh card today. I think the simplicity of the design on the patterned paper is what makes it so pretty. The Lace doilie motif and the large but not crowded embellished bow are perfect companions.

Becca, I am soooooooo disappointed I will not be meeting you in Akron, Ohio. When I heard you were going there, there was glimmer of hope that maybe I might be able to travel to Ohio as I would just love to meet you. But, that date doesn’t work for me. However, I am definitely planning on going to York, Pa. later this fall. Oh, if only you could make that one as well!! If not, maybe we will be able to meet up at another time. Good luck in Akron and have fun!!!ReplyCancel

This is the card that I saw on Our Daily Bread Design. It caught my eye and I was swept away. I have made that same card, with a few differences a few times and the recipients have been tickled with delight too. I still look forward to seeing Becca designs and tutorials and I am disappointed if I don’t see something from you every day. But that is OK, no pressure, it just makes the anticipation greater when I finally see your next creation. And I am NEVER disappointed, ever. Becca all of your projects are so super it’s hard to pick just one. I guess I would go back to the first post of yours that I saw which was the Perfect punched border frames. I have used this a few times, but not recently because I tend to use my spellbinders most of the time. I have to go back to it again as it made such neat borders. Thank you so much for all of your inspiration. I look forward each day to your posts-such beautiful work you do-they always leave me smiling.ReplyCancel

Greetings Blog Friends!!  I’ve been stamping away – I even have a card ready for tomorrow as I was able to carve out a chunk of time to sit down and create.  I’m in the middle of a couple of different things, but I set them aside because my mind kept going back to all the possibilities with this stamp.  So here’s the deal – this is a simple background stamp that I employed to do all the heavy lifting!!   This is one of the new JustRite Papercraft releases; it’s the Fleuriste Newsprint Background.  I can just see using bits and pieces of this background and instead of use it flat (this time) I decided to stamp twice and cut my second copy of the top part of the stamp with Spellbinders™ Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents – a perfect fit!!  I then backed my panel with Spellbinders™ Beaded Ovals and the wonderful scroll accent from Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.  I love how the background “makes” the card and there were lots of possibilities for dimension!

I smudged the edges of my main panel and die cut outs with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink for an aged appearance.

I used another tiny accent from the Twisted Metal Tags and Accents set and stamped the word Blessings from JustRite Papercrafts Vintage Rose Medallions set.  Lastly I laid in a swirl of Zva Creative Pearls which I colored a pale orchid with one of my copic markers.  Did I mention I love this stamp?  I have a box on my list with this one too :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Papercrafts –   Fleuriste Newsprint BackgroundVintage Rose Medallions
Paper:  K & Company, Ranger Glassine Paper, Bazzill
Ink:  Versafine Vintage Sepia
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents, Spellbinders™ Beaded OvalsSpellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents, seam binding, Zva Creative Pearls, Recollection Pearls, tulle, K&Company Butterfly sticker
Additional Ideas:  JustRite Gallery Spellbinders Gallery

For tomorrow I have a dressy card on the agenda — using one of my favorite new colors and lots of frills – I hope you’ll stop by if you get a chance :-)
