As for me, I don’t have a card today because I have a very important date!! A date at the airport to pick up my sweet son! He hasn’t been home in a year and I’m giddy with excitement. I’ll have someone to talk to!! Eeek . . . I’m almost feeling sorry for him in that respect. I have some things already done, ready to post this week but simply couldn’t a project up today – after two back to back releases I slipped into a “catch up on my sleep coma” yesterday, lol!! So, I should be back tomorrow with some goodies to share. In the meantime, big hugs to you all! Even though I can’t answer all of the emails that come through, I do read them and smile, or chuckle – some of you are real kidsters!
Good morning blog friends!!! Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs March Release Blog Hop! Now, if you got here from Angie Crockett’s amazing blog, you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and hop from there! If you encounter any broken links – the entire hop list is posted on the ODBD Blog to guide you along your way. Another month chalk full of new sets and ideas – you can see them all HERE.
You know that I love a long card! I just don’t do them enough; I love the wide horizonal real estate I get for laying in some pearl flourishes. This started out as a tone on tone card but I reconsidered and decided that it needed a soft splash of color. For my main panel I embossed using a classic pattern using Spellbinders™ Regal M-Bossibilities™ – Side B. After layering on Spellbinders™ Labels Seventeen I added two of Spellbinders™ Antique Frames and Accents (turned sideways). For my sentiment I added Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five and backed it with one of the filigree embellishments from Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs. The sentiment I used is from Our Daily Bread Designs and is called Flourished Verses. My card is 4.25″ x 9″.
Hop Particulars:
The Hop will run from 8:00 am Eastern Time on March 1st until 8:00 pm Eastern Time on March 2nd. The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on March 3rd. For this special event, there will be Four Prizes – three ODBD gift certificates good toward stamps sets in the ODBD store and one Bread Basket Bundle!
How to Enter the Drawing:
*Leave comments for each designer on each blog.
*Return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment, telling us you completed the hop and there’s a question for you to answer.
*Note any blogs you were unable to comment on.
Your Next Stop:
Lots of great eye candy to see today!! To move on, your next stop is with my super sweet design teammate Julie Warner!
Thanks for sharing a moment of your time with me! Have a glorious day, friends!

You have until March 3rd at 5:59am CST to leave your comment and a winner will be selected on March 4th.
For my project today I couldn’t resist. . . . going “Paree” all the way. Heck any chance to use funky feathers and you had me at hello!! I just love theme cards so I couldn’t wait to use the Eiffel Tower and the nouveau elements to pull something together for a card. Using Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five, I stamped the largest element and trimmed inside. I layered it on Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals and backed it with an element from Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs. On the bottom I used a combination of Spellbinders™ Classic Edges One and Spellbinders™ Classic Decorative Inserts One for a romantic scalloped edge. It’s no small coincidence that the Paris sentiment fits perfectly on this sweet little tag from Spellbinders™ Home Sweet Home. Paris Nouveau is a huge set with lots of cool options!!
SUPPLIES I USED |
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps – Paris Nouveau
Paper: My Minds Eye, Strathmore Craft Paper (Black), Neenah Classic Crest Solar Cream 80 lb cover
Ink: Versafine – Onyx Black, Colorbox Pigment Ink – Chianti
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five, Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals, Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs, Spellbinders™ Classic Edges One, Spellbinders™ Classic Decorative Inserts One, Spellbinders™ Home Sweet Home, Satin Ribbon, JBH Button, Bazzill Button, Recollections Pearls, Clear Embossing Powder, Pearl Pin, feather |
For my second card, I’m embracing ‘yellow’, so many of you know that I fret over that color but I thought I’d give it a try. I stamped with two different motifs from the Labels 25 set and cut them out with Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five and mounted them on top of Spellbinders™ Parisian Motifs. Spellbinders™ Damask Accents has one of my very favorite borders – I hadn’t done it on a square card yet, so I thought I’d give it a try – I guess you can see that spring is in my heart today!

Whoa! How exciting! Have a great visit with your son. I’m leaving for the airport tomorrow morning to go visit my daughter. She and hubby are expecting their first child and when she sent me a text pic of her barely there preg tummy, I thought to myself – I’m missing out – so I made arrangements to visit for two whole weeks. We find out what sex baby is shortly after I get there and I’m so looking forward to doing some major shopping for baby. Again, have fun. I bet your are bouncing off the walls with excitement.
Enjoy your son’s visit, I love all the cuddles I get when mine come home for a visit. I am hoping to see my son in May/june when he hopes to come over from Japan with his pregnant wife and his 3 year old daughter YIPPEE!!!!!
Hope you spend as much time with him as possible, we will wait till he has gone home to see more beautiful cards etc.
LOL Eileen
Have a fabulous time with your son. I am visiting my parents this week and enjoying my time with them.
Congratulations on having your son come home! Just think if you talk his ear off, he still has another one he can take back with him. I love it when my son comes by. He tries to avoid me and stays closer to my husband, that way he gets to keep both ears!!
Becca , today is indeed special. Enjoy every minute of your time together.
Becca, have a wonderful blessed time with your son, family times are so special and lasting memories of joy. We appreciate you, but family should be first. Have lots of hugs and blessings, Pattie
So glad your son is coming home and you will have time with him.. don’t worry about cards right now, enjoy him and talk and take time out.. know when my son came home from 2 years at war I didn’t think we would ever get enough talking done. Now he is off again and I can’t wait for the next visit.. so savor it while you can… Time goes so fast…
God Bless. Hugs, Jean
Becca–Enjoy your son and have lots of quality time with him. I know I have a son in Minnesota–he is a policeman–so from one Mother to another enjoy every second. God Bless you both.
that’s terrific, I hope you have a Fantastic time with your son !!
I am thrilled for you! ENJOY every precious moment with your son!!!
Bless you both
bernie
OMGoodness! You sound just like me… no one here in the house to talk to much at all. My DH works unbelievable hours, including weekends, but we are grateful because he was out of work right up to the very last drop of unemployment. And I am grateful because he is here for whatever little bit of time we are under the same roof. I try to remember what you said once about having music going. It does help keep spirits up. All this alone time does tend to make one a real “Chatty Cathy” when another human enters our space! Enjoy your visit with your son. Love is so grand.
Have a super wonderful time with your son! I know how excited you are!!
Haven’t posted in a long while, but I peek in everyday. Becca, enjoy your well deserved family time with your son. That year flew by fast. I’m letting you know I received by Becca Bow Maker(s) this past Wednesday. It’s absolutely awesome and I was thrilled to receive a Becca original hand made card (Inspirational Eye Candy). Thank-you so much!

Enjoy every second!!!! He probably has just as much to tell you, so do give him a chance to get a word in edgewise…LOL!
Blessings in abundance,
Jan
Have a great time with your son and we can wait!!
Please don’t feel pressured to make and post cards when you have this wonderful opportunity to spend time with your son
We will be here when he leaves.
Becca, I am so excited for you. I have a daughter that lives out of town & we get excited when she comes home. But when she leaves,
I have to not to cry.
Forget about posting until your son leaves.

Oh Becca enjoy your time with your son! There’s nothing better than time with your children no matter how old they are.
So happy for you, Becca. Our sons are always our baby boys, no matter how old and mature they become. Blessings on your visit with him. Enjoy every moment.
Hi Becca,
Oh how lovely for you. I hope you and your son manage to spend total quality time catching up; our children are such precious parts of us. Have a fun time with him. As to the sleeping, I think if you needed it your son will be grateful also, at least now he will have your full attention and not a bleary eyed version of you…LOL!! Enjoy my friend.
All the best Linda
Hi Sweet Becca, I’m glad you got some much needed and well deserved sleep. Enjoy the wonderful time you have with your son. It will go by so fast! I have four sons and all but one lives away. And they don’t get home very often, so I can relate! it’s gonna be so fun to have him home!!! Make some beautiful memories! Hugs and blessings! Patty W.
Have fun with your sweet son Becca. It is always fun when our babies come for a visit. So glad you got some well needed rest. As always Becca, TFS!!!

Becca, hope you have a wonderful weekend with your son! How exciting to see him after a whole year! I can imagine all the butterflies you must be feeling.
We will look forward to your next post to see how glorious the visit was.
Awww…mother to mother (and of a son as well) enjoy your time with him. Too fleeting are the moments with our grown children. My son is coming home from college this week for one week so I so understand how you feel! I could not imagine seeing him a whole year. Have a great time!
Oh have some much fun with your son. I couldn’t imagine not seeing mine for that long. I’m blessed that they all live within 30 min of me. My youngest is on his honeymoon right now. Enjoy your visit don’t worry about us we can wait.
Becca, enjoy! That is, indeed, time to treasure.
