Good Friday morning blog friends!!  There are two pretty awesome blog parties going on right now!!

For the Our Daily Bread Designs March 2012 New Releases you still have until 8:00pm EST tonight (March 2nd) to leave a comment on my post that you can get to by clicking the link below:

https://www.amazingpapergrace.com/our-daily-bread-designs-march-2012-blog-hop/

Hop around to the rest of the designers (it only makes your chances better) and end up at the ODBD Blog to answer the question.  When I had a few minutes last night I read many of the entries and it simply made my heart swell!  So go, go on, be lucky – there four prizes out there!

For the Waltzingmouse Stamps February Release Blog Waltz you still have until 5:59am CST on March 3rd to leave a comment on my post that you can get to by clicking the link below:

https://www.amazingpapergrace.com/waltzingmouse-stamps-february-releases-design-team-blog-waltz/

Hop around to the rest of the designers (it increases your chances to win) then check on the Waltzingmouse Stamp Blog on March 4th for the winner.  This months release was very popular, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’re a winner!

As for me, I don’t have a card today because I have a very important date!!  A date at the airport to pick up my sweet son!  He hasn’t been home in a year and I’m giddy with excitement.  I’ll have someone to talk to!!  Eeek . . . I’m almost feeling sorry for him in that respect.  I have some things already done, ready to post this week but simply couldn’t a project up  today – after two back to back releases I slipped into a “catch up on my sleep coma” yesterday, lol!!  So, I should be back tomorrow with some goodies to share.  In the meantime, big hugs to you all!  Even though I can’t answer all of the emails that come through, I do read them and smile, or chuckle – some of you are real kidsters!

She and hubby are expecting their first child and when she sent me a text pic of her barely there preg tummy, I thought to myself – I’m missing out – so I made arrangements to visit for two whole weeks. We find out what sex baby is shortly after I get there and I’m so looking forward to doing some major shopping for baby. Again, have fun. OMGoodness! You sound just like me… no one here in the house to talk to much at all. My DH works unbelievable hours, including weekends, but we are grateful because he was out of work right up to the very last drop of unemployment. And I am grateful because he is here for whatever little bit of time we are under the same roof. I try to remember what you said once about having music going. It does help keep spirits up. All this alone time does tend to make one a real “Chatty Cathy” when another human enters our space! Enjoy your visit with your son. Love is so grand.ReplyCancel

Good morning blog friends!!!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs March Release Blog Hop!  Now, if you got here from Angie Crockett’s amazing blog, you are in the right place!  If not, you might want to start at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and hop from there!  If you encounter any broken links – the entire hop list is posted on the ODBD Blog to guide you along your way.  Another month chalk full of new sets and ideas – you can see them all HERE.

You know that I love a long card!  I just don’t do them enough; I love the wide horizonal real estate I get for laying in some pearl flourishes.  This started out as a tone on tone card but I reconsidered and decided that it needed a soft splash of color.  For my main panel I embossed using a classic pattern using Spellbinders™ Regal M-Bossibilities™ – Side B.  After layering on Spellbinders™ Labels Seventeen I added two of Spellbinders™ Antique Frames and Accents (turned sideways).  For my sentiment I added Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five and backed it with one of the filigree embellishments from Spellbinders™ Damask  Motifs.  The sentiment I used is from Our Daily Bread Designs and is called Flourished Verses.  My card is 4.25″ x 9″.

Hop Particulars:
The Hop will run from 8:00 am Eastern Time on March 1st until 8:00 pm Eastern Time on March 2nd. The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on March 3rd.  For this special event, there will be Four Prizes  – three ODBD gift certificates good  toward stamps sets in the ODBD store and one Bread Basket Bundle!

How to Enter the Drawing:
*Leave comments for each designer on each blog.
*Return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment, telling us you completed the hop and there’s a question for you to answer.
*Note any blogs you were unable to comment on.

Your Next Stop:
Lots of great eye candy to see today!!  To move on, your next stop is with my super sweet design teammate Julie Warner!

Hi Becca, i came across your blog when i was searching for hand made cards, and saw your blog. And i should say, yours is my favourite so far. You are very good with colour combination as well. I am from Brunei and sadly, Brunei does not have many craft stores where i can find good die cuts and so on. I am also very interested in stamping but because materials are limited here, i usually do everything manually which is not easy. Perhaps you can advise which online store i can get materials for resonable prices.

    Thanks!ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
Hope you are well and have enjoyed a good day today.
I think todays card has to be among my top 10 favourites of yours. It is adorable. The cream and peach give it such a soft and delicate tone. This style is what I like to call Modern Vintage and I love it.
I would never have thought of putting the Antique frames sideways over Labels 17 like that, but it is perfect. You really are a very clever lady and you deliver such beautiful inspiration for us everyday through your blog. Even though I may have said it before, I think it should be reiterated occasionally: Thank you very much.
Regards and Happy St Davids Day from Wales

Sweet Blog Friends, today is the final day of the new releases for Waltzingmouse Stamps.  You know what that means don’t you?  That means the stamps you’ve been seeing all week are available in the store!   Here are the new sets:

          1. French Country
          2. Make Your Mark
          3. Chicken Wire
          4. Nordic Spring
          5. Florentine Fripper
          6. Compact Sentiments
          7. Heritage Patterns
          8. Paris Nouveau
          9. Labels 25

Today we’ll be showing you sets 8 and 9 on the list – Paris Nouveau and Labels 25.  Ou la la are you ready?  If you made your way here from Tosha’s blog then you’re in the right place, right order.  Otherwise, be sure to start at the beginning at Claire’s Blog – she has the complete sequence if you get out of order.  Today in order complete the hop, leave a comment on as many of the Design Team Members Blogs as you can.  A winner will be selected from a random comment on one of the blogs and will win a free set of Waltzingmouse stamps.  You have until March 3rd at 5:59am CST  to leave your comment and a winner will be selected on March 4th.

For my project today I couldn’t resist. . . . going “Paree” all the way.  Heck any chance to use funky feathers and you had me at hello!!  I just love theme cards so I couldn’t wait to use the Eiffel Tower and the nouveau elements to pull something together for a card.  Using Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five, I stamped the largest element and trimmed inside.  I layered it on Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals and backed it with an element from Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs.  On the bottom I used a combination of Spellbinders™ Classic Edges One  and Spellbinders™ Classic Decorative Inserts One  for a romantic scalloped edge.  It’s no small coincidence that the Paris sentiment fits perfectly on this sweet little tag from Spellbinders™ Home Sweet Home.  Paris Nouveau is a huge set with lots of cool options!!

SUPPLIES I USED
StampsWaltzingmouse Stamps – Paris Nouveau
Paper:  My Minds Eye, Strathmore Craft Paper (Black), Neenah Classic Crest Solar Cream 80 lb cover
Ink: Versafine – Onyx Black, Colorbox Pigment Ink – Chianti
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty FiveSpellbinders™ Floral Ovals,  Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs, Spellbinders™ Classic Edges One,  Spellbinders™ Classic Decorative Inserts One,  Spellbinders™ Home Sweet Home, Satin Ribbon, JBH Button, Bazzill Button, Recollections Pearls, Clear Embossing Powder, Pearl Pin, feather

For my second card, I’m embracing ‘yellow’, so many of you know that I fret over that color but I thought I’d give it a try.  I stamped with two different motifs from the Labels 25 set and cut them out with Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five and mounted them on top of Spellbinders™ Parisian Motifs.   Spellbinders™ Damask Accents has one of my very favorite borders – I hadn’t done it on a square card yet, so I thought I’d give it a try – I guess you can see that spring is in my heart today!

Not long ago I spent hours one night going back thru your blog just drinking in all the beautiful cards you have created. I learned of the loss of your husband and the faith that has sustained you in the months since. I recently lost my mother after caring for her for 18 months and am adjusting to loss myself so I felt a bit of sisterhood with you. Anyway, in a world of cardmakers, your style is instantly recognizeable. I absolutely adore your black and red card and marvel that you are able to get such deep vivid colors with your ink. I’ve tried so many black inks but none are as dark and crisp as yours. Reminds me of black lace stockings and a pretty garter…so Parisienne! Thanks so much for sharing your talents! xoxoReplyCancel
