Hi there blog friends!  I know, right?  You’ve been waiting with baited breath for a new release – (whispers) it’s here!!  Oh my word, you have no idea what you’ve in for over the next couple of days.  Okay then sit down and hold on tight – little surprises!  I get just as excited about a Waltzingmouse Stamps new release as you do.  There are lots of fabulous new sets on the way (nine of them) and today the first set by Waltzingmouse Stamps that we’re previewing is called French Country.  I layered up a couple of Spellbinders looking for curvy embellishment and filigree ornateness to go with the french provencial flavor of this set.  I built my medallion by starting with Spellbinders Grand Labels Twenty Three then adding Spellbinders Floral Ovals followed by Spellbinders Labels Twenty Five and Spellbinders Twisted Metal Accents and Tags.  Lastly I created a side flap using Spellbinders Classic Edges Two and Spellbinders Classic Decorative Inserts Four.

For the Bon Appetit sentiment I cut a fishtail into a strip then stamped and curved the paper.

Next I used the Make Your Mark set.  I thought it would make a wonderful gift to give a friend by giving them premade enclosure cards.   So I created a box 4″ x 1″ and put a divider inside so that I could organize the contents.

The lid is made using Spellbinders Classic Edges One and Spellbinders™ Classic Decorative Inserts Five.

Inside there are a variety of enclosure tags with holes (for easy attachment) and tags made using Spellbinders Labels Twenty Five and an accent piece from Spellbinders™ Home Sweet Home.  In the last compartment I enclosed some linen thread for attaching the tags – sweet and simple!

Good afternoon sweet friends!  I had not planned a card today but the Good Lord sent me some inspiration and all I could do was say Yes . . . Thank You . . . I’ll take it!!  It’s a rainy day here, but I’m loving it!  So, paired with this inspiration, I grabbed my favorite mug with coffee and sat down to make a pocket card.  The inspiration I got was that by attaching the round piece using Spellbinders™ Splendid Circles to Spellbinders™ Romantic Rectangles (doubled and cut with a fold at the top), I could hang the circles on the outside of the pocket as the mechanism you can pull.  This was a quick card because I knew I wanted a flower for the inside of the circle and that once of the larger stamps in my collection could grace the inside of the card.  It’s hard to tell how the card works just my looking at it, but that’s the fun of it all, right?  Above the card is in the pocket.

The pocket is barely embellished but over in the corner of the studio was a packet of fabric paper that I hadn’t thought up a good use for.  Leaving the backing in place, I used the fabric paper for the pocket portion of the card.  So here I have the card outside of the pocket.  I embellished the flower using Spellbinders™ Foliage and added the filigree accents using Spellbinders™ Ribbon Buckles.  I cut a fish tail shape by simply doubling the fabric paper and snipping off the end.

Then on the inside of the card I stamped one of my all time favorite sentiments of all time from Quietfire Design called When You Get To The End.  I was so on the fence about putting that final flourish on the bottom, but I think I needed to.  That’s all for me today . . . what’s on the horizon?  Look for more boxes, I had one sitting on my desk that felt awkward and I worked out the kinks!   I love it when that happens!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire DesignWhen You Get To The End
Paper: Die Cuts with a View (Fabric), Neenah Classic Crest Cream 80 lb Cover
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Rouge
Bow:  Peg Bow Maker – Figure Eight Loops Bow with 5 loops on 2 1/2″ spacing
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Splendid Circles, Spellbinders™ Romantic RectanglesSpellbinders™ Foliage, Spellbinders™ Ribbon BucklesSeam Binding, Recollections Pearls, Zva Creative Pearls, Prima Flower,

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!!

Oh yes, PS!! . . . I have seen the comments asking about the manufacturer of the Life is A Song . . . Sing It stamp and I’ll have to apologize to you all, I normally keep good records.  I made that project over three months ago and that part wasn’t accepted so I never thought I’d be showing it.   I cannot find that stamp for the life of me; I looked for over an hour yesterday, but no luck.  I’m thinking that it’s Penny Black.  If you know for sure, please email me through my contact page.  I’ll continue to look for the stamp, but it was laid aside in that crazy, pre-CHA frenzy that happened in my craft room.

ETA:  Marie and Raquel told me it was Inky Antics so I popped over to their site – here’s the linkLife Is A Song.

area…Granite Bay. Whew! I’ve be looking at all your ideas and
not had a minute to write you and congratulate you on all you do for US!
I love this card…and want much to make one as soon as I get my
crafting part of my office all organized.
Would you be so kind as to give me a CLUE as what “cutter” I should
buy. This is all so new to me. My husband of 55 yrs marriage went
home to be with the Lord Christmas Morning Dec. 09. Since then, I
have sold my home and bought a beautiful one the Lord guided me to.
Please advise me on my question if this is Possible.

Love ya, and so does GodReplyCancel

So very Pretty! You just keep raising the bar. It is such a beautiful way to be able to use a big stamp and yet still add so much extra embellishment. Love the sentiment as well as the beautiful “Quietfire” calligraphy talent.

Hi there blog friends – I love it that you all like to converse!  As always I get top notch feedback from you all – it’s way better than phone-a-friend!  I hope I didnt’ mislead you yesterday . . . for the envelope I was showing I made a tiny note that the addresses were photoshopped out.  It might have been too small to catch your eyes as you were skimming.  So many of you wondered how it was delivered without an address.  I could say that I have a telepathic mailman but I don’t think I’ll go that far.  Whew!!  Mystery Solved.

For today, I thought I would take a second to catch on the news and some repeat questions I get all the time. This seems to be the best way to address them rather than try to catch all the emails…

Are you ready to make some bows??? Yes, Becca’s Peg Bow Maker is shipping!!! In the frenzy some of you may have missed that this is a pre-order and the dates listed on the website for anticipated shipping were February 15 – 22nd. I’m tickled to say that the first batch was waiting for the Holiday to pass on Monday and were picked up on Tuesday with another batch heading out on Wednesday of this week.  For those of you who sent a copy of your receipt and were one of the first 100, your card will be included in your shipment instead of coming separately.  I was so thankful that Our Daily Bread Designs wanted to go ahead and take care of getting that to you.  Moreover, I’m so thankful that you all have been so very patient while waiting for the ship date!  Thank you – I really mean it. I’d love to know you are getting them, so pop in a leave a comment that you got some happy mail, okay?

Want one?  They are an in stock item over at Our Daily Bread Designs!  Just click the Buy Now link on my right hand side bar and it will take you right to the information page that displays all the pertinent information, price, specifications and availability as well as the email address to direct any purchase questions! :-)

If you didn’t get a card, I have good news!  Sometime within the next two weeks I’ll be uploading the rest of the cards I have stashed here into the Etsy store I’ve been promising to bring online for the last year.  As awful as it is to admit, I think I was hoarding the cards and it’s time to let go.  So here’s the deal, the cards will go up in small batches of a hand full at a time and I won’t be making an announcement – it will be first come, first served.  If there’s something you’d really like to have, you may want to pop in for a look see – the link to the store will be going on the right hand side of the blog.  As time allows, I’ll also have some other items for sale directly from my blog.

Several of you have asked me to do a tutorial about the stick pins.  Yes, it is going to happen but I’ve been sneakily preparing.  Since so many have asked, I surely want to do it right and I want it to be a nice source of information for you!  So bear with me while I get that in order.

I hope you found a tidbit that you were looking for here!!   I hope you find some time for a crafty break today – I’ll see you soon!!

I caught the PS comment. But funny thing is when I lived in northern NH in a very small town, I got mail addressed with my name and the town and zip code. The town was so small that the mailman new everyone. So he just delivered it. When I first moved back to SC, they sebt my mail back many times, because it wasn’t addressed properly .In the beginning I was a bit miffed about it. It took me a while to adjust. Thanks for the updates.

I think the only thing I can say today is this: everything you do seems to be to the blessing of others, so I hope and pray these new ventures are for you, a blessing in return.
My fathers favourite hymn was The Lords my Shepherd (we played it at his funeral); well in the chorus it says: ‘Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me, all the days, all the days of my life’.
Take all the goodness and mercy that is yours today and always as you deserve to reap the benefits of all the kindnesses you show.
    Hugs Linda

What a nice Birthday present I received in my emailbox today – my pre-order bow maker has shipped! Again, thanks for following through with your production of the bow maker – I was just about to go ahead and try and make my own (I had visions of the pegs sticky out at angles due to my “precision” drill work).ReplyCancel

Hi Becca I received my bow maker today and I am so excited! I wanted to thank you very much for the gorgeous card that was packed in with my bow maker. I will cherish it forever thank you so very much. I also wanted to tell you that my bowmaker was very easy to put together but my pegs that I use to tie the bow are to big for the holes. I can fix that no problem but I thought that I should let you know. Thank you so much and I can’t wait to get a bow made. Your awesome thank you!ReplyCancel
