Hi there blog friends!  I hope you all have a wonderful day . . . dinner . . . flowers . . . and  the queen treatment!  Whatever it takes to make you feel special today, I hope that’s exactly what’s coming your way :-)  I have a card to share today that I planned to make for Valentines Day but it took prodding over a week to inch it in that direction.  It’s very non-traditional and I stretched a little bit to get to that yellow that I told you was in my future!

Using Spellbinders™ Grand Large Labels, I cut several layers to assemble a card base.  For the medallion I stacked Spellbinders™ Labels Sixteen and layered on top Spellbinders™ Parisian Motifs that I framed out using Spellbinders™ Classic Squares SM and finally Spellbinders™ Persian Accents framed out usine Spellbinders™ Standard Circles SM.  On the outside of the card I stamped the Flourished Heart from Quietfire Design and on the inside used the sentiment callled  A Word Lovingly Written.

The final step was to center a tiered sheer bow over a layer of lace.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – Flourished Heart,  A Word Lovingly Written
Paper: MME Little Miss Caroline – All Dolled Up, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Colorbox Chalk – Rouge
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Grand Large LabelsSpellbinders™ Labels Sixteen,  Spellbinders™ Parisian Motifs, Spellbinders™ Classic Squares SM, Spellbinders™ Persian Accents, Spellbinders™ Standard Circles SM, Ribbon, Recollections Pearls

Wishing you and yours the best on this lovely occasion!  See you soon!!

This is so amazing work once again here Becca, I just love that yellow and green color, you´ve used here, so gorgeous. I sure wouldn´t mind to get such an awesome Valentinescard, that´s for sure. Just a shame, we don´t celebrate Valentines here now LOL.
I hope, you´re having a wonderful Valentinesday and will be spoiled a bit by your kids at least, as you sure deserve that.ReplyCancel

Once again, a lovely card. Love this new paperline. It reminds me of a cool spring day with a fresh mowed lawn. That old feeling that reminds you of how beautiful God’s creations are. You translate them with your talent, paper and embellishments. Have a wonderful Valentine’s day. Treat yourself to chocolates and a spa day. You deserve it for sure.

    Hi Becca,
This is amazing. Its reminds me of the colours of the vintage Valentines that were around when my mum was a girl. They didn’t mind using yellows etc; the use of lots of red seemed to have been introduced much later.
You have used my favourite die on this card and I think it looks wonderful in this layout. (Parisian Motifs)

  • Ellen - CardMonkeyFebruary 14, 2012 - 7:04 pm

I have to admit, I’m not particularly fond of these shades together — I think it stems from a childhood of baby-gacka, pea-soup colored stuff that used to nauseate me so, LOL. That color, and lima beans, used to give me nightmares as a child. Weirdly enough, I also hate the smell of a peanut butter covered knife sitting in a glass full of water. Funny how some things just trigger negativity, ehhhh? So I wasn’t going to write and comment anything, BUT I did want to say how VERRRRRY Very much I always love your bows — makes up for the yuck of the color. (Oh boy, I’m sorry!!) Seeing the bow reminds me with a HUGE SMILE that I’ll soon be getting my very own Becca Peg Bow Maker on order ….wheeeeee!! …. and if I’m lucky enough to be among your first 100 commenters who will receive one of your stashed cards, please not this green one, LOL. :)

I guess this is why they make vanilla and mint chocolate chip ice cream, ehhhh??? Something for everyone?

    Fondly,
    Ellen – CardMonkeyReplyCancel

I rarely comment on blogs – it is as much as I can do to fit reading those I like into my day – but just have to say – You make the most beautiful cards – I often stop by your blog just for a dose of beautiful creations – so thank you so much for sharing as you do. Also I find your tips and videos so useful – (and you have a speaking voice as beautiful as your creations – so gentle and full of kindness). I do have a litle question though – I notice you often stamp your greeting on a very pretty die cut – please – do you stamp FIRST then cut or CUT then stamp? I have only recently got a diecut machine – and am very much a beginner where dies are concerned.. Thank you.

Hello sweet friends!!  Lol, I guess it would be ever so much an understatement that I’ve been slightly preoccupied.   The days are rushing by and it seems like we ‘just’ turned the corner into the new year.  As I was sitting at the craft table this evening I kept thinking there was something kind of important about February.  Oh yeah, didn’t I start blogging in February?  I can’t believe that I totally slept my fourth year blogging anniversary.  (Shaking head)  It’s not like I don’t peek in almost every day . . . not sure what happened!!  I wanna celebrate so I’ll be putting my thinking cap on to dream up something for this year.  By the way, if you haven’t already subscribed you might want to (hint, hint)!

In the mean time, I have a card to share today that was inspired by this old card I happened to pull out of my stored card stash yesterday.  I simply updated the look with new Spellbinders, using Spellbinders™ Splendid Circles as the basis for a medallion, stacking Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Four on top and tucking into each side my favorite swirly embellishment from Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.  I went hunting for a sentiment to fill in the frame created and landed upon a sweet Quietfire Design sentiment called With Heart Anything is Possible.  I pulled out some wire edged ribbon for a double bow as well as pearls and black crystals for a punch of accent color.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – With Heart Anything is Possible
Paper:  Recollections – Regent Street, Bazzill, Kraft
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Splendid Circles, Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Four,  Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents, Recollections Pearls, Prima Crystals, Ribbon, Bead Landing Bead.

See you soon!!  Remember, what ever you do, to make it uniquely you.

    Hi Becca,
I think todays card is delightful and I must admit it is up there with another green favourite of mine (Dec 8th 2011).
As I don’t have a blog of my own where I am able to recommend blogs that I like or follow (must find some help to do that asap) I recently put your blog onto one of my Pinterest boards. I also pinned your Taupe card of 7th Feb and already it has been repinned several times, including one repin by someone who likes the layout for a scrapbook page. You see your work is loved by so many people all over the world!!
Hope you are good. Hugs Linda xReplyCancel

Hey there friends!  We were hit by a little bit of a cold snap . . . I kept thinking, really?  Where is winter?  I live in a very mild area but have enjoyed the crisp air the last couple of days – when you walk outside you can practically drink it in!  I even had to turn the heater on briefly.  If it’s this cold here, I know it must be freezing every where else.   What better excuse to sip on yet another cup of yummy coffee!!   Snuggle up and read your stamp magazines, okay?

This is a card I worked on earlier this week and I guess I was in the same clean and simple mode.  I used Spellbinders™ Crosses Two and layered on Spellbinders™ Picot Edged Circles followed by another layer using on the center part of the cross.  Since the the overall look is one of filigree or ornateness, I selected Spellbinders™ Damask Accents to frame the corners on one of the layers.  So often someone leaves a comment that they don’t think they can duplicate the card, but I assure you, you can!!  The filigree look of the dies makes it look complicated, but these are simple layers that give the illusion of being complicated.  I hope you’ll give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by, I’ll see you soon!!

Becca, the colors are perfect together. Very serene & elegant, fit so well with the sentiment also. Love how you have layered the dies to achieve this lovely effect. Can’t wait to get my set of Crosses 2…that will be my first of the CHA S/Binders, once they are shipping. I have a set preordered, then will look at the other new that you used. I have the picot circles, but somehow, your effects are so much prettier than mine! TFS. Cold in Upstate SC tonight as well, very windy today.ReplyCancel

  • DiannFebruary 11, 2012 - 9:39 pm

Becca, I’m so sorry but this is not a card I care for. I think it is the bow. Whatever is in the middle of the bow just takes the beauty out of the rest of the card for me. Also it is the same color wave as the last card you just made. I love seeing your work Becca and often “copy” it, but this one is not a keeper for me. A loyal follower.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca

well i have looked at all 380 pages of your blog and learnt so much along the way. Feel like i come to know u. It has taken me 3 days to complete and stopped and made one or two cards along the way. I too am getting a fetish for ribbons but not got quite as much as you lol. I didn’t know there was so many ways to tie a bow. But have had a play and getting there. Best to start on wide ribbons you say , lol my widest is 15 mm. Want to try the crape flowers and bows with the stitching on the edge. (I have a sewing machine).
A wonderful blog and will keep coming back to learn more.
Todays card another grand design. Your a very clever woman.ReplyCancel

I do love how you put different dies together in unusual ways. Perhaps you could share with us sometime how you do that?

Cold here in western New York. We’re expecting wind chills at or below zero. Plus, it’s been snowing since Friday night, and it’s not expected to let up until early Monday. Not sure how much we’ve had – probably not more than a few inches, yet the snowplow has been here twice already to clear the driveway. Not looking forward to driving to church Sunday evening, but I have to be there! We knew winter would arrive sometime!ReplyCancel

It is very cold here. It was about 10 degrees this morning. It is 20 now & the sun is shining.
