Hi there blog friends!!  At the same time that so much is going on, I’m trying to make some changes at home.  It’s been slow going over the last year but at the beginning of the year I made a commitment to get things done.  I had u-haul deliver a pod today so that some of my furniture is moving out of the house.  I expect to have foot surgery in the near future so I’m moving the studio to inside my house so I’ll be able to get around on my own. Carpeting is coming up and smooth flooring is going down.  You get the picture – I imagine I’ll be zooming around on one of those little scooters that you put your knee on.  Ha, I may even have to throw a picture of that up on the blog.  Not sure what it will be like to have to sit still but maybe, just maybe I’ll get more done, lol!   In the meantime . . .

I have a card to share today using a sweet sentiment from Quietfire Design called Wings of the Butterfly that goes particularly well with Spellbinders™ Wings of Hope.  The butterfly from that die template set is absolutely magical – I have lots of die cut butterflies, but this one is so totally elegant!!  I created a medallion for the sentiment by using Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LGSpellbinders™ Wings of Hope, Recollections Crystal Garland, Seam Binding, and one of the small elements from Spellbinders™ Moroccan Accents.  I was intrigued by the doily look I could get from going around the circle with the little curlyique pieces.

I can’t often work it in, but I had some of the jewelled garland by Recollections and I think it was safe to use without clashing.  It’s a big embellishment and I thought I’d just give it a try – I have too much of this stuff sitting aside.   Can I leave you with a thought?  If you buy these tools and embellishments, please use them.  Really!  The more you use things, the more comfortable you’ll get with them and the more value you get from your hard earned money.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design –Wings of the Butterfly
Paper: My Minds Eye, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Moroccan Accents, Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LG, Spellbinders™ Wings of Hope, Recollections Crystal Garland, Seam Binding, Recollections Pearls

I spoke recently about being brave . . . I’m considering starting a no pressure “play along” with some inlinkz and am curious if you all would be brave enough to contribute and show your creations?  I’ve found that many people are intimidated by challenges, so I didn’t necessarily want to set it up as a competition.  I’m not opposed to finding a sponsor and pulling a random name to win a prize, but no judging.   Right now I’m more interested in getting people to use the tools they have and to be proud of what you create.   See, you all have given me the wings to fly and now I want to bring you with me.  Weigh in and let me know if this is something you might like to see here.  If it is something you’d never do, please say so – I’d love to hear.

Thanks for stopping by today, I can’t say it enough – I appreciate my blog family here and find myself blessed beyond measure by your sweet spirits!

Yes awesome idea, I love doing challenges but it is hard if you don’t have the supplies they are asking for and impossible to buy everything. I think you would get lots of entries. Count me in.
Your card is awesome as always. I can not wait to get my bow maker. Blessing, LindaReplyCancel

I will be thinking of you when you have your surgery-How great that you can make the changes to your home BEFORE so you will be able to get around.
How sweet of you to say if you have a challenge it won’t be about competition.
I do enter challenges here and there but really don’t take it serious, I hate competition!
I am on several teams that have challenges and like that random org picks so it is fair for everyone.
Nothing worse then people having hurt feelings or thinking their work isn’t as nice as the next person. Love that everyone has their own skill level and be proud of what they make.
    Blessings BeccaReplyCancel

It sounds as if you have very good plans…it would be hard to waste the pod! Congrats on the decision to up the carpet ( I hate them – such muck harbourors (sp) as my Mum would say).
I really like this card – you used your imagination to such perfection here – not too much, and just enough embellishment! Love it! Thanks for sharing, as always.ReplyCancel

I love challenges, Becca! I find it to be a wonderful way to ‘grow’ one’s talent, and sweet comments are so uplifting!! Not to mention a great way to see what other talented people are using to stretch their creativity.ReplyCancel

  • KraftyauntFebruary 2, 2012 - 7:58 pm

Your card is gorgeous, Becca. And good luck with the renovations… I know what you mean about being able to move around your house while recuperating. I broke my ankle a few years ago and was in a similar situation.

With regard to the play alongs, I probably wouldn’t participate. There seem to be quite a few sites doing sketches and regular play alongs. What I don’t see too many doing (and this is my personal wish list) is to have someone provide constructive criticism on my own cards/creations. Almost like a classroom environment where the teacher could point out opportunities for improvement i.e. what color combinations would have been better; where the composition was weak; how I could have ‘stepped it up a notch’…. as if I was attending a live workshop.

Good luck with whatever direction you take. You’re talent, personality, and style will always be winners! Sincerely, Beverly.ReplyCancel

If I can ever get my mojo back, Becca, I would love to play along.

And I keep meaning to write to tell you that I would dearly love to be on the preorder list for one of your ribbon spool thingies. I’ve been trying to get the spousal unit to help me build one since you first posted about yours and he’s been less than enthusiastic, so I’m totally thrilled that you’re going forward with this.ReplyCancel

I do post some things on another website once in a while. It’s a scary thing, but I’m getting braver. The encouragement of others has brought me a long way. I’ll never be able to fly as high as you, though! I might fly along in your wake occasionally.ReplyCancel

Prayers for a successful surgery. Hope you can let us know just when it happens, perhaps your friend can post an address, (?for cards!!!!). You share so many wonderful ones with us, only right & fair for you to get some FROM us! I like your idea of seeing OUR cards, and you are spot on with the idea of no competition. I, for one, never feel confident of my ability. Don’t have a blog either. But it’s lovely to see what everyone does. Beautiful card today, as per usual. Hugs & Blessings.ReplyCancel

  • Nan GFebruary 2, 2012 - 8:02 pm

Another wow card! Yes, love the idea of a fun challenge/show me type set up. You use your tools in such different ways, it would be cool to show what we were able to do. And offer hints and suggestions on how to do something an easier way perhaps or to get a different look! Thanks! I too am anxiously awaiting my bow maker! Good luck with the surgery. You’ll love smooth floors! Blessings!ReplyCancel

I think your changes sound wonderful! Your designs are always so inspiring and gorgeous…
I’ve found though that for my money and sanity to stick with cards that are a just a little bit more simple… I don’t know too many folks who would truly appreciate a card that I spent half a day on (which is what it would take for me to recreate one of yours)… ; )
I love the non-judgemental idea… perfect for those of us who don’t feel we come close to your creativity and originality!
Thank you for sharing on your blog… it is always a delight to read and drool over!
    Blessings!ReplyCancel

Your work is always so beautiful and gorgeous! I always look forward to reading your blog. Those who receive one of your creative masterpieces are indeed very fortunate! I’m guilty of purchasing new items with expectations of using those items. Unfortunately I seem to set my new ‘toys’ aside with hopes that I will get to them ‘someday’. While I don’t have much free time to create, I would enjoy ‘playing along’ with you whenever I do have an opportunity to ‘play’. Thanks for thinking of us and for sharing your inspiration with us.

Love your card. I love all the embellishments. (I tend to add more than probably needed, but I’m with you. What good are they if you don’t use them?)
I would love to see what you have inspired in all of us. I have done a couple and I find it helps me to stretch my wings and try more. No one, in my opinion, could do a card prettier than yours, but we all have our own style. But we all have this is common- we love your work! So I say, bring on the challenge!

This is a LOVELY CARD Becca!!!!!!!! I LOVE the embellishments you’ve used!!!!!!!!! Different than the ordinary, BUT PERFECT!!!!!!!!! It is QUITE FETCHING!!!!!!!!! :) I like the lacyness of these dies too!!!!!!!!!! :) GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!

As to your idea? WHAT A SUPER IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!! I’d LOVE to play along!!!!!! I don’t have loads of dies, only a few. And I don’t have a blog, so…. I guess those would be the only things holding me back if those would be a necessity! HOW FUN!!!!!!!!!! :) AND fun to see everyone elses creations!!!!!

Have fun with your moving things around!!!!!! I ALWAYS enjoyed that part of homemaking! (Where we live now, I don’t get to do that!) But, having your work space where you can get to it easier will be MORE ENJOYABLE!!!!!!!!! ESPECIALLY when you won’t be able to get around as well!!!!!!!!!!!:)ReplyCancel

    Good Evening Becca,
I love your blog and look at it every day. I think your idea is wonderful but not too sure that I would upload my cards…just a time issue. I would also like to know where I can send a card to you once you have had your surgery… I have prayed for you every single night since I have heard of your loss. Keep well Becca and know that everyone is wishing you all the best, we are all behind you in your endeavors as we have come to know you through your blog.ReplyCancel

Beautiful card Becca. When I had my foot surgery (3 places on one foot at one time), I used my Secretarial chair to get around the house…as long as it will go thru your doorways. It worked great because I could make it highter or lower with a touch of a lever and it would swivel so I could reach what I wanted without fear of falling out of the chair – a terrible thought!
Will be praying for your successful surgery and quick and total recovery!

Lots and lots of big changes in Becca Land! Be careful you’re not taking on too much… First of all, the Layering Queen has made another beautiful card. One of the things I really admire about your creations, is that you don’t “muck” up the card with a bunch of printed paper. Your plain paper color combinations are so soothing. You truly have a gift. And secondly, I would really like to “play along”, but I am totally clueless when it comes to posting a picture of my card on the internet. If you take on this endeavor, will you be able to post instructions for those of us who don’t know their way around a computer? That way I can play too!ReplyCancel

First, congrats on getting the house in order to deal with that foot! Please let us know when that’s scheduled for…that way we can all keep you in our thoughts. Would love to see you scooting around in the “knee chair”. Had a friend doing that this summer, she loved the darn thing and man was she FAST! Another lovely card and what a great sentiment. While I have nothing at all against challenges or play alongs…I never seem to have the time to get it finished by the deadline, or it’s not a color/theme/design that appeals to me. Or not at all what I need for my stash or OWH at the time. So I probably wouldn’t join in. But that should hardly stop anybody else! Will be thinking of you, and still wondering what your other tool is! (and how the Becca Peg Bow maker is being received at CHA. (I may know some women that would be very interested in one as soon as I can give them more details! They sure like the bows that I create with mine!! All thanks to you, of course!!)

Becca, I love your creations, and this one is no exception! I love to watch some of the challenges out there but have not participated so far, but it is something I’ve been thinking of doing. I really like the no competition thought…I always feel that my cards are never quite as good as some that I watch…like yours! I like the idea of a random drawing to make it fair to everybody. I’ve even been slowly putting together a blog so I can become more confidant with my cards…love your inspiration…inspires me with every post! Anxiously waiting for my Becca’s Bow Maker to arrive….yeah!ReplyCancel

Congrats on getting some of your projects under way; it’s such a hassle while you’re going through it, but so rewarding when you’re finished. Great card today; love it! I have not participated in any challenges previously, but want to. Two things that intimadate me are: I can’t figure out how to post on some of the sites and I don’t always have the color of cs (they typically use SU colors and I don’t buy SU paper). Thanks for your beautiful creations-they always inspire me.ReplyCancel

This is another beautiful card Becca. I especially love butterflies, I collect them & love their symbolism. This one is gorgeous. Best wishes on your upcoming foot surgery & pray you have a quick recovery. Also, I love your idea of a “play along”, yes I am sometimes intimidated with some of the challenges I see on other sites. I haven’t been doing this for very long and really need to practice using my tools, new techniques I’m learning, understanding color blending and layering. I have a lot to learn but I am always inspired after stopping by your blog.ReplyCancel

you go girl on the changes. glad you are having the surgery and that you are making the necessary changes to be comfortable in your home while recovering. When I was recovering 2 yrs ago from ARDS and a 6.5 wk hospital stay, I remember how unsettling it is to not feel secure in getting around on your own. so you are following a plan that will be successful.

love the idea of the play along. I know this year of firsts have been a challenge but you have weathered the storm and you are a daughter of THE King my dear one and He is showering you with grace and blessings that are well deserved. I am so happy for you. love ya TReplyCancel

I love your card, as I always do. I might add today, how much I like the way you write up your description with the links to the different elements you use, It makes it so simple to go there to the link immediately and visually see what you used… for instance the morroccan element…and how it works on your card. At least for me… it sticks in my brain and I learn better this way. Anyway, I appreciate it. As to the “play along”, it sounds like a lot of fun, for when time allows. I’m glad to hear that your foot surgery is hopefully in the near future, and my prayers will be with you for a fast, speedy, and successful recovery.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
So pleased to hear you are getting your life organised ready for the surgery. I will be so worth it in the end and will make life easier and more comfortable for you. Hope you are able to get it sorted speedily.
I love todays card and the added embellishment is beautiful. What a clever idea to bring the ‘curly cue’ to the front and bling it up a little.
As to doing a challenge without competition for our work, I think that would be delightful. It would be lovely to see what everyone else is working on. However, I do agree with others, please don’t take on too much at the moment, you must take care of yourself, you give so much to us already. But if you do go ahead with it now or later, I, like everyone else, am behind you 100%.
    Take care LindaReplyCancel

I’m glad you are making your house foot surgery friendly. It will be so much easier for you. I will be keeping you in my thoughts for a successful and quick recovery. But, the ideas are worth more than the money I would spend on the products. i can see what I have and use them differently and add only a few things. that;s why I like your frugal tutorials, Also all the challenges seem to want you to belong, and I don’t, and don’t have a blog. wouldn’t join it there was a cost.

Looooove that butterfly!!! I’m in trouble now LOL! Great colour combo and a gorgeosu card. Well spoken on the if you have it use it – I tend not to and it was a good reminder :)

Glad to hear your surgery is scheduled and hope it heals quickly. Have a great mental image of you on a skateboard or scooter zipping around the house LOL!

I am sure the surgery will be the best thing and over before you know it – as well as the rehab afterwards! Will send healing light!
The idea of posting our projects is great, photography is not my forte and uploading might need a bit of instruction – I am not a luddite regards using my computer … just need some instruction and advice – would you help me/us with that? P.S. The sponsor sounds a great idea – hopefully this would burden you less with the implementation of the idea.
As usual you are a STAR!ReplyCancel

Oh boy another beautiful creation here Becca. You´re sooo clever to make these combinations with your dies and realy get the most out of them. It´s awesome work hun.
So glad to hear, that you´re getting your house sorted before the surgery, so things are easy on you then. Do you know yet, when the surgery will be? I wish you all the best of luck with it and a very speedy recovery too, and hope, it´ll be a tremendous relief, when it´s done. I´ll definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers, that´s for sure.
Aboout the challenges I think you shall go for it, if it´s not too much for you at the moment?? I love the idea, but don´t want you to take more on your shoulders, than you can take okay? But you can always ask us for help too, if you need that, I hope, you know that??? I would be more than happy to help, if there´s anything I can do to help you. I love the thought, that it´s not a competition, cause it would leave many out, because they don´t feel their work is good enough for that, and that´s a big same, as we can all learn so much of each other and get great ideas even from the youngest newbie, that´s for sure.
You are always so thoughtful to all others Becca, but you have to think of yourself first right now and be sure, you have the energy for this before you do it okay? We don´t want it to get too hard on you.
Have a wonderful week-end and lots of crafty fun.ReplyCancel

Surgery is never fun, but mobility is essential. Prayers and encouragement for your recovery. It’s genius to plan ahead and get the house ready before the surgery. My issue is photographing the cards/items I make. I have seen several people’s “set-up” of small areas with spotlights, etc. but have no room. Can a decent photo be taken in just sunlight?ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, your postings are always interesting and your card uploads are always “over the top.” Glad to hear that you are making some changes in your house to accomodate your foot and when it comes time for surgery, I wish you the best of luck. Beautiful card Becca, and I love the saying. That saying would be perfect to send to someone in so many circumstances.

I hope your surgery goes well, my DL is going to have foot surgery in a couple of weeks, so we will probably go out and help take care of the GC until she can get around again. Hard to take care of 3, 5 and 7 YOs while you are laid up! Anyway, I will be thinking of you and hoping you aren’t laid up too long.

I would love to see a “play along” on your blog, you inspire so many of us, and I think we would all have fun with it!ReplyCancel

Becca you have a true gift for putting together lovely textured and colored cards. I always love the inspiration you share with us and seeing your work always inspires me to try imbellishments that I have never ever considered before.
Imagine the possibilities! True challenges can simply be working with what you have to arrive at a similar place.

  • JessicaFebruary 3, 2012 - 9:29 am

Hey Becca, I think the challenge is a good idea. I don’t do a lot of them. Not because I am not proud of my work. It has something to do with ‘having’ to have something ready by a certain day/time. That’s why I’ve never submitted to a mag or the like. I do put my stuff on my blog. (When I remember to take pix!) But I’m not very good at keeping that up to date either. Classic under achiever I guess. lol But I love to see other people’s creations. So I would certainly look and make nice comments about their work. Thanks for sharing your lovely creations, I am always blown away by your creativity and attention to detail! Also, I wish you all the best with the surgery. I’ll pray when you are enduring it all. Be careful on those wood floors. They can be slick. Hugs, JessReplyCancel

I’m rather shy about sharing my work but I would be willing to try. God bless you on your upcoming surgery. As usual a beautiful card Becca! I love the color blue, so I am especially fond of it for that reason.
As far as posting photos of creations, I think it’s a wonderful idea, but personally I come to your blog to see YOUR creations. It inspires me tremendously. I would never post a photo, just because it’s hard for me with the set up I have. But if you choose to do this it won’t stop me from coming! Good luck with it all, and with your home changes!ReplyCancel

As always your card is stunningly beautiful. Great idea making your home and studio accessible now. I hope you are having help moving your furniture and studio, wouldn’t want you hurting yourself. Praying all will go well but Please do let us know when you actually are having the surgery. It would also be wonderful if you could get someone to update us on how you are doing after it’s over.
My crafting time is limited but I’d love to Play Along if I can meet the requirements. I can’t afford all the wonderful new things that come on the market. What I do buy must be versatile, timeless and most importantly be on sale. I only have a few Spellbinders and punches and nearly all my stamps are previously loved.

Found today’s post quite interesting. It would be fun to participate in posting but unfortunately I don’t know how it is done. Today’s card is quite lovely, tho the colors would not have been my choice. You certainly can take darker colors and work wonders with them. Bringing darker colors into my cards was my challenge this year. (Not having too much luck with that, I find I do not enjoy the time spent as much as I do when working with pastels…so why bother)? In any case, if you were to view one of my cards, you would certainly see how many of your ideas I pirated!!! Just admire your blog so much. Beautiful work!!!ReplyCancel

Another simply stunning card, you never cease to amaze me! I hope you enjoy your hard flooring, be careful what you put on your feet incase you slip….and pleased you are thinking ahead and moving your studio to be near you. We have just spent two years renovating the whole house and garden, we had every conceivable workmen in and are really pleased with the end result, hope you will be too with your planned changes.
I am not computer literate, so I will be unable to join your new venture but I will certainly enjoy seeing everyone elses work.
Hope your surgery goes to plan and you have a speedy recovery.

Hi Becca, First I love this card of yours and you are right…I, too, do not use a lot of the embellishments I have. I think about how much extra it will cost in mailing these extra special cards. Right now it is $1.70 for one card with a bow and maybe a few pearls. So, I hand deliver the really ornate ones. As far as your blog lovers, lol. I, too would love to be a part of learning more from each others efforts. There is the thing of learning how to upload my pictures from my new camera to the computer then on to your site. I get so busy, the learning curve to doing these things is what I am impatient with. Bless you for caring about us … I am looking forward to how this all pans out, Lord willing.ReplyCancel

I have just come across your blog and OMG you do the most amazing work. I don’t have a blog (would not know where to start) but would love to have a go at the “No challenge challenge”. I don’t think it is the challenge that scares me but having my work put against your gorgeous creations!!!ReplyCancel

Good morning blog friends!!!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs February Release Blog Hop Now, if you got here from Grace’s amazing blog, you are in the right place!  If not, you might want to start at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and hop from there!  If you encounter any broken links – the entire hop list is posted on the ODBD Blog :-) There are lots of goodies in store for you with the new release – you can see them all HERE.

For my card today I thought to touch purple again.  I have to say that purple is growing on me :-)  This is a little bit of an unconventional card, but I wanted to use the new wings from Spellbinders™ Wings of Hope as an embellishment on my bow.  For the focal point on the card I used Spellbinders™ Grand Dahlia and in the center I layered Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Four, added Spellbinders™ Postage Stamp then added the sentiment cut with  Spellbinders™ Classic Rectangles LG.  I love to overstamp, so I overstamped the new Our Daily Bread Designs background stamp called It Is Well With My Soul music background on top of my design paper.  Then for my sentiment I used a small one from The Sea.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs The Sea, It is Well With My Soul Background
Paper: Die Cuts with a View – Chateau Lavender (Joann’s), Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Four, Spellbinders™ Postage Stamp, Spellbinders™ Wings of Hope. Spellbinders™ Classic Rectangles LG, Spellbinders™ Grand Dahlia, silk ribbon

Hop Particulars:
The Hop will run from 8:00 am Eastern Time on February 1st until 8:00 pm Eastern Time on February 2nd. The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on February 3rd.  For this special event, there will be FOUR PRIZES  – a free set of your choice of ODBD stamps and the big prize is a Bread Basket Bundle!

How to Enter the Drawing:
*Leave comments for each designer on each blog.
*Return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment, telling us you completed the hop and there’s a question for you to answer.
*Note any blogs you were unable to comment on.

Your Next Stop:
Lots of great eye candy to see today!!  To move on, your next stop is with my super sweet design teammate Chris Olsen
!

Yesterday someone pointed out to me that a team was at the Spellbinders™ booth at CHA taping a show and they were showing off the crown that I made as a part of the blog frenzy.  When I shot pictures, I used red velvet as a backdrop, I wanted to give it an air of richness, but I’m not really sure I accomplished that.  Anyways, if you want to see how the crown really looks, check out this 1 minute video over at Paperclipping.com.  Don’t tarry though, there are so many good CHA videos over there.  I wound up checking out the new products and now it’s too late to turn the want monster off, lol!!   Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I’ll see you soon!!

  • Lindyloo, South Wales, UKFebruary 1, 2012 - 8:07 pm

Hi again Becca, I hope you are well.
Todays card is a tower of achievement in my eyes, as you have again used shades of purple and with a magnificient result. The added rich cream and hint of green give it a soft country garden look (think Pride & Prejudice and fabric prints from the house of ‘Laura Ashley’ ). This soft vintage chic is so big now and looking at your card you can see why, it is delicate, feminine and adorable.
As I was unable to comment yesterday (though I have commented now), I would like to say that you should not feel embarassed or any other negative feeling for that matter, with regard to your latest and possible future business ventures. You have given to your followers every day through your blog, with your creations, tutorials, information and multiple candy giveaways. To now, be able to recognise your dreams and prayers is something to be pleased with and to push forward with continually.
You were given these talents and you have used them graciously and generously and now it is your turn to see this form of generosity and graciousness in others around and for you.
If I could acquire one of your bowmakers I would do so immediately as it is a wonderful piece of kit to own, but also to show you that your generosity has not gone unnoticed or without appreciation.
I pray God will continue to bless you and provide you with joy abounding this year.
    Take care of yourself LindaReplyCancel

  • Traci S.February 1, 2012 - 8:33 pm

    Hi Becca~

This is beautiful, so delicate. I love the color choices you used…beautiful and soft. I love the wings with the bow…I am sure that will be a very popular look…(as everyone will be copying you!) I love how you have lightly stamped the music on the background sheet. I didn’t see it, until I read about it. Now, I see it clearly when I look at the card. I love the leaves and vines. I love this layered look…it is amazing.

This is a piece to be proud of. And, as far as purple…it is the color of royalty…as in the King of Kings!

    He IS Able!

Dear Becca, Your blog is my daily inspiration for my creativity. I usually evaluate your cards to see if I can get close to something like it, (usually not!). But even when I think I can, individuality always gets in the way. Seeing others’ variations on a them is even more inspiring, so I think sharing what your blog followers are doing with your ideas would be a hoot. I know I would enjoy seeing it, because all YOUR blog followers are terrific, talented and sweet ladies!
On another note, I tried to follow the blog hop, but ran into logistical issues. Also, I got so involved and side-tracked with all the wonderful blogs, I was in blog heaven. I had fun anyway. Thankx

Hi there blog friends!  Let me start out by saying thank you so much — I am humbled by the sweet honor of your favor!!   I asked God for courage, and received an answer loud and clear, in a way that has left me awed and speechless.  If you left a message for me by going to my contact page and saying that you wanted to be on the pre-order list for the Peg Bow Maker, you should have received an email from me with a link to the ordering page and with my sincere thanks for believing in me.   I have yet another tool that I’ve been developing for the last year and a half that will see the light of day soon.   It’s not a do-it-yourself kind of thing but you’ve empowered me think I can actually finish bringing it to life.  Ah, courage . . .

In the mean time, there’s yet a wonderful new die template that you’ve not seen yet.  I wasn’t able to show it before CHA and it almost killed me!!  Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals is a template that I’ve been dreaming of.  I love ovals and use them often, but this one has a decorative, romantic, feminine flare.  I used two of the Floral Ovals set slightly askew to create an opening for my sentiment panel using Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five.  Onr top of the opening I laid  Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents – I know I use that a lot!!  Paired with new stamps from JustRite Stampers that you haven’t seen yet either – I ask you to turn your thoughts toward the Easter that approaches.  Using a sentiment from JustRite called Easter Blessing Oval Medallion, I  paired it the new JustRite Fleur de Lis Background Stamp.   Up the side of the card I used Spellbinders™ Moroccan Accents that I layered with lace and seam binding and finished with a Triple Bow (Double bow + 1 on Peg Bow Maker).

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Stampers –Fleur de Lis Background StampEaster Blessing Oval Medallion
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Cream 80lb, Bazzill
Ink:  Colorbox Chalk Ink – Prussian Blue, Stormy Sky Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Moroccan Accents,  Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals, Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents, Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five, Seam Binding, Pearl Pick, Recolletions Pearls

Sincerely sweet friends, I am amazed – I read every email yesterday and responded individually to more than 250 of you, I have more to go but missed a night’s sleep somewhere in this adventure.  They were not all emails about the bow maker, some of them were well wishes and some were other people in my same situation reaching out for a shared word.  It’s a lesson to me daily that I don’t know everything about the world, but I do know that I have a treasure in the family I’ve made in blog land and I want you to know there’s not an iota of your kindness that I take for granted.

  • Marcie SmithJanuary 31, 2012 - 3:15 pm

I too love this new oval !!!! As soon as I saw it, it went on my order. I am really intrigued with the tuck and fold dies, they remind me of some older brass border templates that had come out many years ago. Each cut had to be done by exacto knife, but it was all the rage in the scrapbook world. The other amazing new Spellbinder release was the new e-embossabilities. Some of them are really gorgeous and I just couldn’t help my self. I had to ask the question many times however, before someone finally told me that you need the new rasberry adapter plate for these. So I quickly slipped that on my order as well. This was the first time thou that I can honestly say there were some dies that I actually could live without. That hasn’t happened in a really long time.

Blessings on you, Becca. You are such a bright light in the dark sky. I am always so encouraged when I see your blog and message. I wish I could afford to get all the Spellbinders dies that I see, but I have to be frugal and be choosy about what I get. SU has also come out with a couple of dies that are really neat. So much to choose from.ReplyCancel

Becca, I am SO glad that you are marketing your Peg Bow Maker!!! My sweet husband made one for me from your pictures and description, and I am using it all the time. Best wishes on your endeavor!

Next I asked my husband to help me with the Loom, after finding my round, hinged, wooden box at Michael’s for 9 cents. I had to buy the last two and make one for our daughter as well.

I look forward to any and all your posts, including the absolutely wonderful one today. This card will be a favorite of mine – with the Easter verse in blue and ivory and all the Spellbinder layers and lace/pearl embellishment!
Thanks ever so much for sharing your gift with all of us!ReplyCancel

Another beautiful card Becca! I totally agree with you about oval dies and the new one from Spellbinders will go to the top of my wish list. I am a great fan of Spellbinders products (have the original Wizard and now the Grand Calibur). I have to say I am not at all surprised by the response you received to the announcement of your new Peg Bow Maker. It’s a wonderful idea and we all appreciate what you’ve done and continue to do – share your wonderful talent with us and at no charge. I have placed my order and look forward to receiving it. Your cards inspire me and so many others, so please know that we do appreciate what you do. I admit my curiosity is rampant about your other idea, so I will look forward to more information about that.ReplyCancel

Becca, will be anxiously awaiting your new tool, I’m sure it’s brilliant…whatever it may be. I thought that the floral oval die would need to go on my list when I saw it…but now having seen what you did with it, yup, sigh, it has to go on the list. What I really need to do is win the lottery to feed my Spellbinders and ribbon addictions! (probably work better if I ever bought a ticket! lol) This is a gorgeous card, blue and cream is a favorite color combo. God has blessed you with a marvelous talent, take it and run with it!

Hi Becca, I just wanted to tell you that when you first showed the peg board for bows, I told my #1 son that he could make me one for Christmas.
So I told him where to find it and he did a wonderful job on it! This was for
last Christmas or the one before, can’t remember just when you started telling us about it, but I sure do like it. Thank you very much!ReplyCancel

    Becca,
This is a stunning card today, but you are so naughty teasing us, especially me, with those Morrocan Accent dies as I am totalling longing for them, they are gorgeous. Also I think the way you have offset the ovals one on top of the other is lovely and they creates a lacy backdrop for the Twisted Metal diecut.
The shade of blue you have used here is beautiful, could you tell me the Bazzill shade name please?
    All the best LindaReplyCancel

Oh My God, this is georgous. I just got the Grand Calibur two weeks ago on sale at JoAnn’s for $77 plus 30% off the following week on anything even sale items. I went crazy of course as Spellbinder dies were on sale for 30% off, mostly $14.99 less an additional 30% off. I spent $96. Of course, I went home and did the organizational thing with the cd boxes and magnets. The only thing I didn’t do was the labels. I did cut out the cover to show what is in the box so it turned out pretty well. The first of the year I did a big clean up campaign to get all my “stuff” organized. It took two army lockers and I still have a huge plastic tote full of paper. I haven’t started on my car’s trunk but all the stamps are in one box, punches in another, etc. etc. I keep them in the car so when I go to a crop, I have everything anyone there might want or need to use and it’s all in one place. Only bring in what is requested but it is there if needed.ReplyCancel
