Hi there blog friends! Well, I had something different planned for today, but this afternoon it was necessary for me to work on a sympathy card. I have to say that even though it was wonderful to sit down and create, the occasion was not one that brings joy. I just hope that when it’s delivered to my sweet friend, she’ll know that I thought long and hard about her loved one as I made it. It was on my to do list and when I sat down, I thought it would be alright to use some of the new Spellbinders – I felt as though the crosses would be perfect for this occasion. I pulled from this month’s Our Daily Bread Designs release with a set called God’s Love.
This is a different design, but I wanted a cover or coverlet (upside down pocket) on top that I could mount the crosses on and then I wanted the recipient to be able to pull the top off to reveal the hinged card with my note. I rarely decorate the insides of my cards (until it is time to send them), but since this one is going right out, I layered in some design paper so that I could write a note.
For the coverlet, the first thing I did is to tie by bow around the pocket. I cut the three largest Spellbinders™ S4-353 Labels Twenty Five die templates nested, which gave me two frames. I crisscrossed the two frames. Before adhering them permanently , I seated the two crosses from Spellbinders™ S5-093 Crosses Two, so that they would overlap at the center then attached them to the edges of the frame with micro glue dots. I needed to have a pearl in the center so that I could support the crosses with a piece of foam tape on each level.
SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:Our Daily Bread Designs,God’s Love Paper: Die Cuts with a View – Tradewinds, Bazzill Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Blue Iris, Versafine Onyx Black Accessories: Spellbinders™ S4-353 Labels Twenty Five, Spellbinders™ S5-093 Crosses Two, Spellbinders™ Classic Scallop Edgeabilities, pearls, satin ribbon, clear embossing powder
Thanks so much for stopping by to see me! I’ll see you soon!!
Stunning! The recipient should be able to feel the love that went into this card!ReplyCancel

I’d never heard of a coverlet before and think it’s a wonderful design. Thank you for introducing yet another (brand new to me) way to enhance cards. I was wondering how the recipient would know the coverlet is to be slipped off, but upon further examination of the picture I guess the coverlet is loose-fitting enough to be fairly obvious. Thanks, Becca, for the idea and the beautiful, beautiful card.ReplyCancel

Hi there blog friends, I hope you are enjoying all the new dies that are being released this week! I’m smitten with Persian Motifs and Accents – so I have another card to show you today. First, a reminder . . . if you haven’t seen my Blog Frenzy post (https://www.amazingpapergrace.com/spellbinders-abilities-and-beyond-blog-frenzy-day/ ) pop over and have a look see – there’s a contest and prizes but it’s all described there!
Okay, on to my card . . . the Persian Accents border is exquisite and the round elements stack so nicely!! For my medallion I stacked Spellbinders Blossom Tags and Accents (the largest element) followed by Spellbinders S5-079 Persian Motifs (the LG Motif) followed by the next smaller template from Blossom Tags and Accents. The teeny tiny scallop around the top square layer is simply the Spellbinders S5-078 Persian Accents Border turned around. The sentiment is a new set by Our Daily Bread Designs called Birthday Blessings; I used the new Spellbinders S5-077 Labels Twenty-Five – it was just the right size! Whew, I had picture in my mind for the last week and wanted to get those layers assembled before the inspiration moved on.
I hope you are enjoying the Blog Frenzy – there’s much more to come!
SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Birthday Blessings Paper: Glitz Design, Bazzill Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Prussian Blue Accessories: Spellbinders Blossom Tags and Accents, Spellbinders S5-079 Persian Motifs, Spellbinders S5-078 Persian Accents, Seam Binding, Recollections Pearls, Lace, Spare Parts Brad, Prima Flower
Thanks so much for your kind words yesterday, I can’t wait to show you more! I’ll see you soon!!

Isn’t it nice to know that I don’t have to worry about how I’m going to spend any tax refund money I may get? LOL. I think it’s funny that my main goal this year (crafting-wise) was learning to do more things with SpellBinders dies, and her they are making brand new ones for me to play with.
Thank you, again, for sharing your talents with us. Now I just need to figure out how to explain to my husband why the washing machine will make it one more year, but I can’t possibly be expected to live without these dies.

There’s a little princess in each and every one of us, wanting to get out. Some days we’re the princess of quite a lot, sometimes we’re a princess because people love us, sometimes we’re a princess because we need a boost and being a princess makes us feel nice. Today, you’re the princess and I have your crown and magic wand ready! I was inspired by a whimsical play tiara that my sister gave me – it lives in my craft room. She put it on me to make me smile on the day we took my blog picture above. Every now and again when mojo seems to have left me, I sneak in and put it on!! From the first moment I saw Spellbinders S5-078 Persian Accents and Spellbinders S5-079 Persian Motifs, I thought the border looked like a tiara. Each element looks both vintage and regal. Each piece is delightfully filigreed and easily stackable with so many different options. I have several close up shots so that you can see the beautiful detail on each die template!!
The wand is very light with ribbon streamers and uses foil, cardstock and decorative pearls and bling. It’s essentially a medallion, and the back layer is flat and was cut from the foil.
The medallion I created for the wand has the same layers as the medallion that forms the central peak of the crown.
The layers on the crown are less than 1/2″ and is able to sit flatly on a wire base which you can see above. Below is one last close up for detail.
Here are the new dies I introduced:
My second project had to have pink!! I’ve created a dimensional envelope to house a small card and have created a bag with a vertical belly band as an accessory. I’ll be teaching you how to make this ensemble today.
Below is a picture of the opened envelope with the card inside.
Below is a view of the small card sitting on the entirely opened envelope.
Below is a picture of the accessory gift bag with vertical belly band.
I’ve put together a video below to show how I made the ensemble here is the link:
Here are my supply lists for both projects:

Of course, she’d probably be pretty rough on it…although maybe not…I gave her some Princess stuff last year and she’s kept it almost pristine! Anyhow, that’s not what I started out to tell you…This is incredible and I’m sooo glad that you finally got to share it. Darn it, now I’m gonna need to add this one to the list. Thanks, Becca, for the idea and the beautiful, beautiful card.
Wow what a stunning blue. Absolutely beautiful. I am sure your friend will feel the love you put into it and it will bring her some comfort.
