Card made with Velvet PaperHi there friends!  Can I just tell you that I love the velvet textured scrapbook paper you can purchase, it has the most heavenly texture!  It has been around for many years and for a while I loved it, then I thought it was faddish and now I’m back to the love stage!  The paper was the inspiration for my card today – I just love the decadent feel of the flock and the color is oh so rich.

Paper Bow

I crafted a hand made bow from strips of paper and worked some of the velvety paper into the bow and tails — I also used it for my background.  Normally I would be so miserly with this type of paper, scrimping so as not to waste an inch.  It feels good, today, to use it with abandon!  Not wanting to cover up the detail on the design paper, I simply stamped the sentiment from an Our Daily Bread Designs called Ornaments 2 within the wreath and embossed.  This is not one that will get sent out in an envelope, but is one that will be enclosed in one of the packages I need to send this season.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Ornaments 2
Paper: Recollections – Believe, Paper Pazzazz Velvet Paper, Expedx Brilliant White Cover
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Recollections Pearl Brad, Embossing Powder

I hope you had a glorious weekend.  As I can, I’m busily working in the background on things that just make my heart sing!  Sharing soon :-)

Hey there my sweet crafty friends!!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs December Release Blog Hop! (December already, can you believe it!?!!) Now, if you got here from Chris Olsen’s wonderful blog, you are in the right place!  If not, you might want to start at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and hop from there! If you encounter any broken links – the entire hop list is posted on the ODBD Blog :-)  All of the designers have fabulous eye candy to show and of course there are prizes to be had.  This month offerings are fabulous – you can see them all HERE.

For my card today, I was aiming for a romantic look. This is one of my favorite sentiments, so I was tickled to be able to use it on a card – this one will get much use – its from the Simple Things set.  Working with a Tattered Rose color and Gray I created a medallion by stacking Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Two and layering on top Spellbinders™ Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents, then Spellbinders™ Labels Fourteen and finally Spellbinders™ Ornate Artisan Tags and Accents.    In the end, just some of the color peeks out, which I love for the visual interest.  Twirling up a rose from Spellbinders™ Spiral Blossoms One makes me smile – there’s just no way to go wrong with this die template :-)  The curly flourishes are from Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.  I use my Peg Bow Maker all the time but for this card I went with five wraps for a fluffy bow.  Just in case you wonder how I send a card like this (people always ask, lol), check out my explanation here.

Sweet sweet Becca!! I was looking forward to seeing what the Lord created through you for this release!!! Beautiful as could be expected—love the pink, the romantic feel and everything—One thing that I will so humbly glean is the way that the words of the sentiment are not with in the boundaries of the pink—some are ‘out of the box’ so to speak—so lovely—!!! (thank you so much) praying for you!! be blessed beyond measure

Recently I bought a card at a craft show. It is more like a box thin and when you pull it the card comes out on both sides and you can put a greeting on one side and a gift card or money is taped into the other side. How is it made? I think it is called a slider card.ReplyCancel

Good morning sweet friends!  I’m back to share another clean and simple card.  I was smitten with the newish Spellbinders™ Create a Flake III and have had this one on my to do list for a while.  This unique flake stacks up in the coolest way.  By putting them together and pulling the legs through every other space, it give a neat look to each layer.  I balanced it out with a sentiment stamped on the opposite end of the card with JustRite Stampers clear Winter Words set.  I made a shaped base  and mat layer using Spellbinders™ Grand Labels Twenty Three.  I added a border using Spellbinders™ Lace Doily Accents then added my snowflake flower on top.

As you can see, I had a moment to play and am steadily adding to my Christmas stash.  I am panicking that there’s less than 30 days left to Christmas – where oh where has the year gone??

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite StampersWinter Words
Paper: Bazzill, Neenah Classic Crest Cream 80lb cover
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Create a Flake III, Spellbinders™ Lace Doily Accents, Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Three, Recollections Pearls, Bazzill Button, Pearl Pic, Seam Binding

Stay warm sweet friends!  See you soon!!

Becca, I’m either going to have to quit reading your blog or win the lottery. There’s a slim chance of either. I’m NOT going to quit reading and they tell me that in order to win the lottery I have to buy a ticket, so that’s not likely to happen either.Everytime I think I’ve got all the Spellbinders I need, you come up with something awesome (ok that’s like every day) and I add another Spellbinders to my wish list. Your snowflake flower is awesome, so now that’s on my gotta have list. Thanks for all your wonderful inspiration.ReplyCancel

Just found your site a few days ago, wow you have some awesome talent! I have question, haven’t used the spellbinder all that much so how so how do you make the card base so it has a fold or how is it together? Used dies before and kept an edge inside so as not to cut on all 4 sides, but your card has shape all the way around? How do you do that? Love the card it is spectacular!ReplyCancel
