Hi there blog friends! The cool air has me sitting here in toasty socks and sipping Pumpkin Spice Coffee :-) Fall came practically overnight, but I’m not complaining, I’m savoring. I’m really not absent – I’ve had furniture in my living room since April that needed to be put together and picking a day here and a day there, I’ve managed to get most of it done. Back in April I also got one of the large 5 cubbies by 5 cubbies Expedit bookcases for my sewing room. Yesterday I toiled on my own to get it put together although there’s no such thing as me standing it up – it weighs at least 200 pounds. Imagine me, triumphant. Imagine me, questioning whether it really would fit down the hallway. Imagine me, sliding the box it came in along to floor to simulate moving it. Imagine me, dismayed because I discovered it would not make the sharp turn into the sewing room. Imagine me, disassembling it to reassemble it in the tight quarters where it will live. Grrrrrr……. My own fault, but that’ll be my Saturday. In the meantime, I relaxed by putting together a card made using two of the new sets this month from Our Daily Bread Designs.
The oval shape is cut using ODBD’s Elegant Ovals, a custom die made by Spellbinders which matches the new Elegant Ovals stamp set. On top of that I used Spellbinders Labels Fourteen – I divided up my sentiment from Christmas Door so that I could pop a couple of buttons in the center.
I hope you are savoring the change in seasons wherever you are. Think of me while I’m doing my replay today and I should be back tomorrow with another card!
When I first started blogging, I was introduced to the sweetest soul, someone that I had purchased some items from off of Ebay. I had the wonderful opportunity of being on her design team and the more wonderful opportunity to be her friend. Today is indeed bittersweet. My sweet friend Michelle is closing her online store, Stampers Dream, to move on to the next door that’s opening in her life. She’ll still be only a phone call away, but doggone it — it was only too convenient to browse through all her goodies, then pick up the phone and call. Today, the talented Stampers Dream Design Team and sweet Alumni join in for a Farewell Blog Hop. To go along with the feel of the day, I made a card with some of my favorite Impression-Obsession stamps that Michelle sent to me, that she still carries in the store – for old times sake dear friend.
Michelle, we are sure going to miss you in blogland but I’ll know where to find you! Here’s the scoop in Michelle’s own words:
It is with a heavy heart that I announce I’ve decided to close Stamper’s Dream ! After many tears, and much prayer I just know it’s the right thing for me. I really feel the need to reclaim my life and spend more time with family and friends. My grandchildren are growing up so quickly! And let’s face it…no one can do it all! Not forever, anyway.
So…my loss is your gain! Everything in the store is 20% off with the coupon code Farewell2U. Just enter on the checkout page in the coupon section and it will take 20% off the lowest marked price of the items in your shopping cart! There is a $20 minimum to activate the coupon. Sorry, but there will be no free shipping during the liquidation.
And did you know we’re having our very last Stamper’s Dream blog hop??? I invited some special friends to hop with us as well! Here’s the lineup:
Michelle Rodgers
Becca Feeken (you are here)
Tosha Leyendekker
Denise Marzec
Laurie Schmidlin
Carolyn King
Amy Sheffer
Arlene Cuevas
Teresa Kline
Jessica Diedrich
Mariana Grigsby

Jo Thompson
If you haven’t made it over to Michelle’s blog which is at the top of the list, I hope you can pop in and wish her luck! If you are looking to pick up some discount items, you might want to get while the gettin’s good (wink).

Thanks for stopping by to see me today! Be blessed friends!
It’s here! Release Day of all six new sets the design team has been previewing this week for Waltzingmouse Stamps. Yes, the Design Team has a Blog Waltz today, so if you are coming to me from Tosha’s blog, you’re in the right place. If you popped in and want to find out how to go through the entire blog, pop over to Claire’s blog where the Waltz begins and also where there is a list of all the participants. These sets are too cool for school!! Today we’re showing samples made using Candy Jar Christmas and Candy Jar Christmas Fillers. The sets are huge and there are so many possible combinations of stamps that you’ll never run out of choices!! If you’d like the see the sets in their entirety, just pop over to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Store, because they are available for purchase today. The sets released earlier this week were: Seasonal Remedies, Nordic Winter, 2011 Holiday Ornaments, Santa’s Coming to Town
In my cupboard I had some gourmet hot cocoa’s that came in cute little packages. Unfortunately when I opened them pulling the tape off marred the package so I couldn’t really give them as a gift. When I saw this set, I knew it would be a wonderful way to repackage my Gingerbread Hot Cocoa, Peppermint Candy Hot Cocoa, and Smores Hot Cocoa! I had a canning jar holder that fit four small jars so I filled up three with the hot cocoa mix and one with peppermint candies and made a tag for each. I’ll be able to give them as a group or individually. I think the candy jar is one of my new favorites!!
I put a small label on the back of each tag to identify the flavors of the cocoa
This is the holder with the gifties removed.
Well, it’s time for me to send you on your way – the next stop after me is Clare Buswell!

Becca, What a beautiful, elegant card! I love the colors, the paper and the design! Thank you, once again, for sharing your gift! Good luck on the bookcase project! Hugs, Magi
Beautiful card Becca.Love the greenwork with the pearls. The red buttons make it “pop”. Good luck with your new project. Hugs.
I envy your courage to try this at all! Now to have to take apart and start over again….you will definitely be an expert when this is finished! Love your card today, so very delicate and typical Becca! Just another piece of art!
Oh you poor woman! I had to move by myself once while my husband was deployed, and I did something just like that! Not fun AT ALL!!!! I guess this just means you’ll be able to put it together with your eyes closed by the time it’s all done. Good luck :) Your card for today was gorgeous! Thanks, as always for sharing your amazing talent!
An absolutely gorgeous card, Becca! Funny, I don’t seem to recall you using buttons much on your projects, but I admit, I’m definitely lovin’ all the elements of this beauty!
I always look forward to seeing your creations ~ they’re just beautiful!!! I don’t envy you having to put your 5X5 together again, but just think, it will probably be easier the second time around! Happy Day!
Well, good luck with that furniture fun! You have such a “can do!” attitude. Beautiful card!
so beautiful. really love the cane pattern. i’ve bought several of these punch alll oveers since i saw your tutorial but haven’t used one yet. maybe this weekend
Oh, can I relate to your story! About a year ago, we went shopping to buy a craft table to replace an old one. We ended up buying the floor model-yeah, it was assembled. It fit in DH’s SUV-although a rather tight squeeze. We couldn’t get it through the front door, so opted to go around the house and use the patio door. Success!! However, we tried every which way possible, upside, downside, sideways, etc. but there was no way to get it into my studio. So…… we had to take it all apart, and reassemble in my studio. Argh!!!! The upside was it was discounted because it was the floor model, and I LOVE this table!
Your card is beautiful, and I am so glad you made the time to create!
Getting us geared up for Christmas with your lovely card! I have missed your daily shares but so understand! Those put together yourself items can be overwhelming. Those furniture sliders come in handy for moving heavy objects. My hobby room was finished during our remodel and we had all the furniture moved in. The contractor gave us the go-ahead to move in. We then found out the wood floor guys didn’t get the final coat on the floor. We had to move everything back out of the room for the final coat. We know those sliders are very helpful! Good luck today with the rebuild of your cubbies. :)
SOOO CHRISTMASSSY!!!!!!!! ;) YEP, I’m getting with the fall season! The rain & the wind have knocked off alot of the leaves here.:( But, it’s STILL pretty here! NOW, you can see up the side of the mountain! :) I’ve ALWAYS liked that! That way, you can see the deer or elk easier! :)
My husband would have fit it in – he has a magical way of getting things through doorways. Though it involves a lot of grunting and possibly yelling. I love this card – you always inspire me by the way you layer your die cuts.
Oh no sorry you had to go throug all the troubles to get it placed roight. But I think, we have all been doing this mistake sometime in our life too he he he. And if you can´t say anything else about it, you can at least say, you learned to check first another time, I´m sure ha ha ha.
Your cards is awesome hun, really really beautiful. I love the colors and the way you put it together. It looks fabulous as alaways hun.
Have a wonderful sunday ahead and hopefully without more furnitures, that needs assembling ? he he he
Love the punch all over the page, with your other ides, neat combo, so pretty!
Sorry you’ve had such a time with your furniture; God was just giving your some more things to pray about (haha, like you need it, right!) Thanks for your beautiful card; love all the details.
Becca,
I love this card. I like the background. I like to use holly in my christmas cards.
I know how it is to try to put things together yourself. This piece of furniture sat in my dinning room for weeks. We thought our son in law would help us but he was works a lot of hours. So we decided to do it ourselves. We got almost all the way up when it would not go thru the door. Back down & we had to take it apart to get it up. It also was very heavy. Afterwards I said to my husband what are 2 old people like us doing this. IF you lived cloaed we could help you since we are now experienced movers. Ha Ha.
Beautiful card as always Becca!!!
I have two shelving units in my trunk right now that has been there for about a month because they are to heavy for me to carry in. I can’t even get them turned around to get to the end of them to open the box to get one piece at a time and carry end. They will just stay there until I get someone to bring them in :)
I love everything about this lovely card! Sounds like a monumental project you are tackling! Good luck!
Love this card!! Everything works together so beautifully
I am a “one woman band too” so I have been down the road you just traveled with the bookcase If you can’t lift it then you drag or push it ! Independent women just won’t let a 200 pound bookcase get the best of them . LOL
I moved 3 times in 4 years and two of them were interstate moves. Without any help I packed and unpacked over 200 boxes. I had to disassemble all of my wire shelving units and anything else that came apart to conserve space on the moving truck. And I am old enough to be your mother :)
It does feel good to say ” Yup I did it myself “
This is yet another beautiful example of your creativity. Thank you.
I know what you are going through. I purchased 3-4 pieces of the Besta shelving units. I live alone with no one to help me. It was a Pain to try to get the large boxes from the car to the house. I had to put the large pieces together in my small craft room as I wouldn’t be able to get it in the room after it was put together. (I better not move. LOL!) I couldn’t even lay them on the floor as there wasn’t room. Then, there are no words, only pictures, to put it together. No help to hold pieces while you attempt to screw them together or any one to ask for help when it doesn’t go as planned. But they look nice when they are done!! There is a sense of accomplishment when I look at them all put together.
Good Morning Becca, a lovely card indeed.
Good luck with the furniture, my husband did the same thing and couldn’t get it apart !!!! it was glued fast, it now resides in my dining room, where it was built.
Love Jeanne
ps Thank you for the amazing bow maker I love it.
Oh Becca, I think we have all done that at least once in our life. I built one of those little playhouses for my children when they were little and it had to be disassembled to take it and put it on the back patio. That was soo much fun. I love your card and I love ODBD.
So glad to hear I’m not the only one to have done the ‘put together, take apart, repeat’ dance. Hope all goes well with the repeat part.
Your card is stunning. Love every last detail of it.
Blessings Bernie
Such a lovely designed card!
Argh, what an ordeal to get that shelf in the right place! I’ve totally been there and understand how these things can take longer than expected….but worth it in the end! I just finished, (well almost) painting all the cupboards in my kitchen! Phew, it took all summer, but it’s so lovely, it was worth it!
LOVING Autumn and all that brings, snuggly sweaters, hot drinks, hostessing, creative studio time, and Fall colors…love it too!
Enjoy! Hugs!
Love the paper and buttons and the sentiment. Such a pretty card. I know what it is like being a woman on your own …. and putting together furniture!
Love that card Beca, where did you get that strip of paper lace? Is it a die? Good luck with the bookcase thingy – hope the sewing room is where you do all your craft or do you have separate rooms for each raft – if so I am VERY jealous!

Just beautiful, I love the green lacey thingy and you must tell us how you did that! Bless your heart, sounds just like something I would do, put something together and then figure out it would not go where I wanted it. I have done the same thing so I feel for you. YES I am enjoying the change into Fall only wish we here in TX would get some rain. It is like a tinderbox around here.
I have stopped receiving your e-mails. I just checked and I am still subscribed. Any idea what may be wrong? I checked spam and nothing there.
Your card is beautiful Becca, the DP is so pretty and so festive. Love how you have embellished with the ribbon and the buttons. The green lacey panel is a nice added touch. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-D
PS Good luck with your book-case
Becca, I totally understand your frustration with your bookcase. It is hard enough the first time, let alone having to do it again. It should be easier this time though. ha
Your card is gorgeous as usally. Great papers and beautiful verse. Love it!
Hope to see you in Indiana sometime soon?????
Hi Becca toatally love the card. Now for the bookcase you need to go to Big Lots or a store that has the little sliders you put under each corner and the you can slide it with ease. I do my china cabinet filled that way.
Stunning …….. again!
Becca…..have a bookcase party!!!!!….you supply the nibbles and they supply the muscles LOL Beautiful card, such a lot of detail.
LOL Eileen
Take it easy moving the heavy stuff and applause for your success! The card is beautiful as usual. Thank you again for the inspiration!
You bring such inspiration, always!
Exceptional card! I don’t see a mention about the border punch you used, unless I just can’t figure it out. That’s a beautiful punch.
Lovely card!! I can relate to the furniture assembly…good luck!
Hi Becca, Sorry you had so much trouble getting your bookcase together and in the right spot. But you were the victor!!! Just wanted to let you know I so enjoy seeing your cards every day or almost. Keep up the good work. Lovely to see God’s word glorified by putting them on your cards.
