Hi there blog friends. I’m absolutely jubilant today as I’m mindful of little triumphs. I didn’t mention this, but I’ve been away traveling. I wasn’t totally sure I was up to it, but apparently I was and was so blessed to see acquintances and friends at CHA!!!!! Yes, that’s my foot and it certainly put a spin on my travels. I’ve been in the boot since last November and it was a little triumph to keep it from sidelining me :-) More details to come so stay tuned and I’ll have a larger post when I can blog from something other than an iPhone!!

  • Rachel BrooksJuly 21, 2011 - 3:51 pm

Is that from surgery or injury? Looks like a pretty serious undertaking, and since NOVEMBER???????????Wow! You’re a gutsy lady!ReplyCancel

Was surprised to see your picture with Joan from Joan’s Gardens since you didn’t mention going to CHA. I’m glad you got to go and that your boot didn’t sideline.I’m sure there’s lots of fun stuff to do there. Don’t overdo it though.ReplyCancel

  • Judy CoveyJuly 21, 2011 - 3:54 pm

Becca, so sorry to see your leg and foot in a cast and I can’t believe that you haven’t told any of your blogging friends about this sooner. Happy to know that whatever the reason is that you are in a cast, it didn’t keep you away from CHA. You are a woman of steel, that’s for sure … or is it of “plaster!”

Have a safe trip by home and can’t wait to hear about CHA!ReplyCancel

  • MarionJuly 21, 2011 - 4:04 pm

You go girl. Whatever thes story it is the small victories that keep us going. I know that I had to celebrate everything that I accomplished after knee replacement. 18 months later it is not completely back to normal and I am not sure it ever will be but those small victories are there. Keep going for them. We can not be kept down.ReplyCancel

  • Barbara BruderJuly 21, 2011 - 4:07 pm

OMgoodness – look at you. Here you are in a boot due to some injury I am sure and you never mentioned it or complained. Are you really an angel? I think so more and more every day. Anyone else would have complained or at least grumbled. I am sure I would have :) On a second thought – cute toe nails!ReplyCancel

  • Pat JandacekJuly 21, 2011 - 4:09 pm

Oh, my word! No wonder you were questioning your ability to travel – and to CHA no less!! Hope you had a wonderful time even with the hurdles. You certainly prove true the old adage (slightly changed) “You can’t keep a good woman down!” Best of everything to you, Becca.ReplyCancel

I had to wear one of those because I had plantar faciatis (fallen arches). Nothing really helped until I got fitted for special shoes with special inserts for my arches. Now I dance around and have even worn sandals! I can appreciate the clunkiness of the whole thing. Thank goodness I only had to wear mine at night or if I was sitting around for a long time. Hope you have an absolutely marvelous time at CHA! Will you have lots to tell us?ReplyCancel

My Goodness Becca – Wearing a boot like that is a big hurdle when you’re traveling and more so when it’s hot and sticky. Had one of those once myself. I kinda figured you were at CHA – thought I spied you in the pictures on the Spellbinders blog. Soo glad you got to go to CHA – hope it was fun & enjoyable! Safe travel mercies going back home. {{Hugs}}ReplyCancel

Ahhh, the boot. I’m very familiar with it, having had surgery on both feet, one for a split tendon and the other for ligament repair in the heel. Luckily they were two different years! After this you get to go shoe shopping, not just scrappy shopping! Hope you enjoyed CHA!ReplyCancel

I’m so sorry to see you in a boot, I was last summer, I fell and tore the Achilles tendon out of my heal, and that boot is so cumbersome, so I can sympathize. But with my husbands help we even canned tomatoes last summer. I wasn’t able to put any weight on my foot for six weeks, so I actually used an office chair to get around my house. I had to scoot all over to get things done, and after the first couple of weeks I was able to get to my craft room and make thank you cards to the people that attended my 50th wedding anniversary party. I had fallen just two weeks before our 50th, but I managed. Somehow we (women) always do. Share with us what happened, as someone else said at least we can say a prayer for you.ReplyCancel

Hi there blog friends!!  Just peeking in to show you something I put together in 10 minutes with scraps from last week.  I love doing that!!!  Sometimes you invest the time and work through to get the card or item you want and sometimes you need quick and easy!!  So this was very quick and easy and what’s more, next time I have a gift I won’t have to search for an enclosure card or a little box.  I’m all set!!  From some of the recent digital paper I used I cut this small trinket box which is new – Spellbinders Square Bracket Edge Box (bottom and top).  My card is 4″ x 4″ so it gives you an idea of the size of the box.  By the way did you know that all the new die templates are now on the Spellbinders website – yep . . . you can see them ——-> HERE.

Don’t forget, I have two blog candies going on right now, my morning blog candy and my night blog candy.  Below are links to the specific posts!

Girls Paperie Blog Candy – comments from 12:05am to Noon ——–>HERE
Prima Blog Candy – comments from Noon to Midnight ——->HERE

Paper: Bazzill, Crafty Secrets Vintage Patterns CD
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Hi there blog friends.  As promised, today I’m back to kick off the second of a two part blog candy.  What’s up for grabs today is Girls Paperie Paper – ten double sided, shabby chic goodness sheets.    As I mentioned yesterday,  I know it has been difficult on busy days to leave comments.  There is a problem that we can’t seem to find concerning comments, but for the last week it has been somewhat better.  I unfortunately have no control over it, so my blog candy is “as is” and I encourage you to try different times to get in and leave your comment.  When you get a white screen, your comment is registered, really!!  If you wait a couple of minutes then hit the refresh key you should see it.

In order to win all you have to do is leave a comment on this post anytime between 12:05 am and Noon CST and feel free to leave a comment each day until the winner is picked on Saturday, July 23nd.   For your comment I’d love to hear what is one of your favorite brands of cardmaking or scrapbooking paper?   If you were here yesterday you notice that I always have a little catch to my candies and this time it is the time.    Pay attention to the time on this post because no comments will be eligible to win except  those made between 12:05am and Noon CST.  Get it – I have one morning blog candy and one evening blog candy.

Once picked, the winner will have 48 hours to reach out to me through the contact button at the top to claim their prize.

Stay tuned I hope to have some cool stuff to share a little bit later on!!

  • Charlotte ZweigoronJuly 19, 2011 - 8:52 am

At this point my favorite papers are from Graphic 45. Most of the Tim Holtz papers are a little dark for me although he does have a great stack of pastels. But I use his inks and other products almost exclusively so I don’t feel bad about neglecting his papers. Graphic 45 has the steampunk look (without the fuzzy sort of darkness) which I love and is the opposite of the feminine look, such as your designs, which are my other favorite. Not much middle of the road for me!ReplyCancel

I love graphic 45 paper. It is so easy to work with. Since it is a double sided paper, I sometimes use the (I guess you could say) the unconventional side of the paper to do my scrapbook pages. I love the line because you can mix and match the different lines of their paper. They all seem to coordinate.ReplyCancel

It could be Graphic 45 when in a whimsical or Anna Griffin if in a romantic, or Basic Gray if in playful. I have access to lots of wallpaper books so I tend to use a lot of that when possible. I do love pretty paper but have a problem with the Christmas papers that have been available the last few years, They often do not have a green that I consider Christmas green or a red that I consider Christmas red. I know I am traditional but I think a lot of us are. Wish there were more reds and greens out there. Thank you for a chance to win this beautiful paper.ReplyCancel

I don’t really have a favorite kind of paper… I have only used the kinds I can buy locally as that’s where I can get good sales and due to a tight budget I have to be as frugal as possible. And to be honest, I’m sort of “patterned paper challenged” anyway and use mostly plain paper! LOL!! I did recently buy some DCWV paper pads at Michaels that seemed to be “prettier” than most of their previous stuff so I think I’ll really enjoy using that if I can overcome my challenges with patterns.ReplyCancel

I love The Girls Paperie papers, but I was unaware that they are defunct according to one of your readers. I did read something about them collaborating with another paper line (can’t remember the details), but I am really saddened to think they won’t be available anymore. They have been one of my favorites, along with many others. Graphic 45, K& Co., My Minds Eye, DCWV, Melissa Francis, and Pink Paislee are all favorites. I’m a terrible hoarder, I just love the Botannica line by Graphic 45, but I’m afraid to use it knowing that it’s been dc’d. Even before I was a paper-crafter, I was a lover of paper especially beautiful stationery. Sure hope I can add these papers to my collection and I promise I’ll use them, not hoard them.ReplyCancel

This is a great idea on soooo many levels. I love the chance to win such beautiful papers, love to check your site and see all the comments, find it interesting to actually pay attention to the brand of papers I’m using (I usually just flip through the stack and run with it), AND I’m seeing names of papers I’ve never heard of before that I absolutely must check out. And, Although I’m not crazy about all the Tim Holtz papers, I do love my Vintage Shabby stack. So much so that I hoard it. He has a new one out I’d like to get as well. So, Tim Holtz papers do have a spot on my favorites list.ReplyCancel

Don’t really have a favorite brand of paper. I’m pretty limited in what I’ve used so far. I did just get a little pad of Basic Gray patterned paper and I like how they have teamed up with Hero Arts so that you can get stamps with coordinating designs. I love when things match! LOL!!ReplyCancel

Well, it’s been more than a couple minutes and my post isn’t showing up – so I apologize if this is a repeat. I absolutely love these papers, the colors and the designs. I could have so much fun with these. As for CHA – would have to stop at Spellbinders first to check out all the new releases – but then maybe I should save them for last so I’d know for sure to have money left for other booths. Paper – any and all paper booths, and anything else I could check out before I dropped from exhaustion and excitement over all the new items.ReplyCancel

I have been told that Recollections is Michael’s store brand but, whatever the case may be, I use a lot of their paper. I wouldn’t have thought of it as a favorite but, as I look around my craft room, I see a lot of Recollections paper and cardstock. It is good quality for my purposes and the price is right whether it is on sale or if I have a coupon. (Never shop without one!)

And, since this is the last comment for this candy, I want to thank you for your inspiration and generousity. You are not only generous with your gifts from your stash but also generous with the teaching and sharing of your enormous talent. Bless you, Becca, you have made a positive difference in my life.ReplyCancel

What beautiful papers!! I have to say that my all-time favorite paper brand is Basic Grey. I don’t love all their lines but so many of them have been favorites over the years. I do door signs for our daughter’s college dorm room. Each sign is basically a 12 x 12 layout with each girl’s name, pics, school year, etc. Each year she has picked a different BG line for me to use. She like them too I guess. :) She’s a senior this year so I guess this will be my last ones. *sigh*ReplyCancel

Last chance here now, so I hope, I hit the right time.
I´m totally addicted to gorgeous papers, but unfortunately I live in a small country, where we don´t have much available of all the known brannds, so we often have to do with what we can find around of any kind, so it really makes us creative, but it would be really cool to try and win some of these wonderful papers here, that´s for sure.
Have a wonderful week-end everyone and thanks again so much for the chance here Becca.ReplyCancel
