Hi there blog friends, how cute are these little purses? Ha-ha – you’ll never guess what I used to make them! No fair – you saw the the title but scratched your head and said “??” Okay, here’s my story. I was playing around with one of the new Spellbinders dies and I thought it was an interesting shape – heavier on the bottom, skinnier on the top. Then it hit me, if I could assemble front and back, it would function as a purse. So using Spellbinders S5-060 Flower Pots I cut two pieces using the largest Flower Pot. For one of the purses I used the second largest piece to create the side for one of the purses I used small paper bags as a part of the bag. Then to finish off I decorated using anything I could find for handles and closure. Is this not the cutest thing? I’m always in a bind when I need to do favors for our Stamp Club and now I know I can pull them together in a couple of minutes!!
For the Flowerpot Purse above I used a small black sack. For both flowerpot pieces I adhered overlapping on the bottom then adhered my flower pot front and back to the bag. For the handles I cut/embossed two S4-345 Picot Circles and cut off the excess before I adhered them to the top. The closure on this one is a piece of ribbon glued to the back edge. The purse is locked by threading the ribbon through the bling buckle!!

I’m running around again today, but look for a video walk through on how to put these together this afternoon some time. After putting several together, I improved the function of the side gussets so you’ll definitely want to have a look at the video to get that tidbit!! Oh, and part of my video is frugal serendipity – I’ll share the source of my inexpensive front and back flaps that are the perfect heavy weight!! I’ll see you later!!

I Love it! i am so glad i found you!1
Becca — you are absolutely amazing. I love it when you think of different uses for Spellbinders dies. If you haven’t sent this into the company yet, I think you should do so right away! I would have only thought of flower pots and decided that I probably wouldn’t use the die too much. You have certainly convinced me otherwise.
I love your frugal tip about the file folders too. I haven’t ever seen them in Canada at that price, but I’ll keep looking!
How simple and so sweet! I rushed to the Spellbinders site but I guess they haven’t been released yet. You tease!! LOL I haven’t seen any of those handy little sacks here in Australia either, guess I will have to try to get some from the States by mail. Wish me luck, they would make lovely gift bags for small Christmas trinkets. Thanks for the inspiration.
That is so darn cute! And another wonderful tutorial. Thanks for the frugal tip.
Blessings Bernie

So, Becca… When are you going to show us how to use these great file folders for boxes?? I am SO visual – needless to say following written instructions (or far worse having to imagine it) is beyond me. I’ll keep an eye out for that tut. Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful creations!!
Becca, Thank you for sharing your very creative mind with us.
Absolutely loved the video and the tip for using those $1 bin file folders. Your creativity inspires me; Thank you for sharing.
What a great idea. But…I go to spellbinders.com – can’t find a flower pot die. I go to Michaels.com can’t find paper bags or file folders. Where in the world do you get the die? My Michaels, Joanns and Hobby Lobby have absolutely NO stock on these dies. What they do have is old ones. Never seem to get the new things. HELP!!! If spellbinders doesn’t have it on their website where do you get it? I get so frustrated when I see all these wonderful ideas that a lot of you crafters show and then I can’t find the items to make it. Again…HELP.
Thanks…guess I just had to vent. :)
One word….. Perfection!!!!!
Ummmmm….wow! Absolutely love this! Would’ve never thought I needed flower pot dies, but I so do now! Thanks so much for this wonderful tutorial!

Becca you’ve wowed me once again. Finally a die that makes a purse big enough to put something in (besides one piece of chocolate). Another Spellbinders die I HAVE to get. Between Spellbinders and Quietfire, my craft budget (what budget!?) will certainly be exceeded. Thank you so very much for sharing your talent with us less creative creatures!
Hi Becca, I am at a loss of words , I cant wait to get my new dies , I have already put in ordrers on 18 new ones so far, and keep adding as they are shown. You are awesome, and I want to make the purses for my little girls birthday party so bad.

Gosh Becca, you are amazing. You can make something out of nothing and these purses are so darling. and so verstile. You come up with the most amazing things Love Janet
Becca, you are so right…what a great little gift bag. You have come up with such a versatile idea for that die…I LOVE it! There is no other blog that I get as much inspiration from as I do yours! :-)
Hello Becca,
I have learned so much from you. When you look at a die, or packaging in the $1 bin, how on earth do you match them together, and figure out how to make them work by adding gussets? How do you do that? I never get those “Aha” moments. It’s just mind boggling, simply amazing, “Amazing Paper Grace”, a perfect name.
Hugs to you Becca!
