I could not wait, I could not wait, I could not wait to get my hands on this set of dies.  Can I say that this is one of my fav’s and I think it will be one of yours too!!  Sigh . . . it just oozes with elegance and oh, the possibilities.  I knew my first stab would be something vintage looking and something to do with a flower.  What I’ve done here essentially is created a flower cup to seat a bloom in using Spellbinders S5-059 Ironworks Motifs.    This template works just as well on cards as on gift items (I’m working on my post for tomorrow which, if my crafty luck holds out, will be an ensemble using this template again).

I’m following the sketch from Mojo Monday (Mojo 199) except rotated the sketch clockwise 90 degrees.  In following the sketch I put a border on the left hand side of the card using elements from Spellbinders S5-059 Ironwork Motifs, then created that neat swag using the new Edgeabilities – E8-001 (Classic Scallop) and E8-003 (Triple Scallop).  Who knew?  I didn’t it I sat down this morning and started playing around – there are so many different combinations – I love this one.  My medallion was created using the largest element of the Motif set – I curled the edges on the first one and on the second one I interlocked the curlicues to maintain the structure of the cup.  They were then stacked together with foam tape.  I used the foam tape to add dimension and offset the layers.  I double stacked my foam tape in the cup before I nestled in that sweet flower.  What a joy to sit down and create this morning!!!  I have things waiting off in the wings to show, but since I was doing the sketch challenge I hadn’t given any forethought to what to create because you really can’t, right?!?  Pure serendipity :-)

Love this Becca and I’m with you, this is such a great die set. I love how it is so versatile. Lacey and soft (as shown on your card today), or rugged wrought iron used on an altered project. It is definitely on my must have list and that list just keeps getting longer. Really great sets in this new release. Will be fun to work with them. I recognize the paper !!!! hee hee.

Hi there blog friends!! This is one of my fav new Spellbinders die templates – we should probably take a poll on how many times you’ll hear this.  This is something I had on my want to have list before it ever even came out – what a beautiful way to frame things!!  So  I pulled a couple of Websters Pages Journalling cards and chose to highlight bits and pieces of those – sigh!!  Nothing better than wallowing in vintage; the postage frames just beg to be distressed and paired up with something vintage.

I cut each of the frames with Spellbinders Classic Squares LG on the inside and Spellbinders S4-348 Postage Stamps on the outside.  I distressed each of the frames and the remaining pieces of the card  and added a strip cut from Spellbinders E8-005 Classic Postage Stamp Edgeabilities – what an awesome edge!!  I stopped after adding pearls and seam binding :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  None
Paper:  My Minds Eye – Vintage Findings, Bazzill Vintage Pink, Paper Studio, Websters Pages – Country Estate Journalling Cards
Ink: None
Accessories: Spellbinders Classic Squares Large, Spellbinders S4-348 Postage Stamps, Spellbinders E8-005 Classic Postage Stamp Edgeabilities

Smooches everyone!!  I’ll see you tomorrow!!

    Becca,
After reading yesterdays post about the Vintage CD and 5min after I posted my comment, the strangest thing happened. My postal lady was knocking on my door with a package from Crafty Secrets. I had visited their site about 3 weeks ago looking for a specific paper pad and placed an order, while their I had seen a CD offered but the picture was so small I really couldn’t see the patterns that were contained but at the last minute I went ahead and added it to my cart. I had totally forgotten about that snap decision until low and behold it appeared in my package. Guess what CD it was. It was the “Creating with Vintage”. Talk about timing. And you were right it has some fabulous patterns on it with several other goodies. I am so going to love trying them out.

By the way, I just love your card today, and am just giddy over all the new Spellbinder dies. It is just another fabulous release once again. I am going to be broke once again but. . . . . . oh well. Have only seen one set so far that I am not just crazy about.

    Hi Becca

I just found the link to your blog and I am sure glad I took the time to come and visit, your card are BEAUTIFUL and your a great inspiration and I would like to thank you for that, I just bought the spellbinders die cutting machine about a month ago and never had time to really create yet but your cards have given me the taste to want to take the time……ReplyCancel

As you know, I pulled a winner for the What’s the Difference Blog Candy and thankfully the winner responded and we’ve been in touch.  I promised I would show all ten changes made to the card – here they are.   Truth be known, it’s hard to add so much to a card already you consider done!!  Did you catch them all?  I thought they were pretty obvious but some people said they were very subtle :-)  Great game!  Thanks for playing along!!

Thanks for stopping by :-) I’ll see you soon!!

I got all of the changes but I had too many. There were supposed to be 10 changes.
On picture #6 there is a pink 1/2 circle showing on the upper left side. On picture #7 the pink 1/2 circle was gone. Were those pink 1/2 circles counted??
The other change I noted , but wondered about was on picture #3 I can see a white teardrop pearl near the bottom that I could not see in the first two pictures. Was that an addition or did you just adjust the stick pin and now that teardrop pearl is visible?ReplyCancel

  • BernieJuly 9, 2011 - 10:28 pm

Although I’d have loved to win it was so much fun I don’t feel like I lost. I got them all but it wasn’t easy. I must admit I made a sketch with arrows pointing to and listing everything on the card each day. I studied it, went away and came back several times a day before I caught a few of them. Thanks for the fun.
    Blessings BernieReplyCancel

  • Edna BurgessJuly 9, 2011 - 10:40 pm

Ok, After my stupid comment, I went back and enlarged each card. Now I can see most of the changes, but I still can’t figure a couple of them. Great job of little changes. EdnaReplyCancel

  • Theresa RomaniJuly 9, 2011 - 10:41 pm

How strange! I have all of the changes in one fashion or another, but the pictures I saved to my computer don’t all match yours. I have the stick pin appearing first, then the pearls on the scallops, followed by the extra bead on the stick pin and the clear buttons behind the pearls. Next, the green layer disappears. But where you have the pink tab and the rosettes in the center of your ribbon flower, my next photo goes back to the image you show in the first of these photos with just the original stick pin without the extra bead, no extra pearls or clear buttons behind the other pearls, and the green layer is present. Did I capture a change back while the next photo was going to post?? Because my next photo shows the pink tab and the rosettes in the ribbon flower. In my next image the pink tab is gone and an extra layer of lace is present as you show. Next I see the pink thread appear and there seems to be a difference in the beads on the stick pin, below the large faceted bead. After that the decorative corner appears in the upper left, followed by the small hole punches in the “ticket,” and finally the sentiment changes. I had a blast watching for all of the differences and I hope you will do this again!ReplyCancel

Thank you, Theresa, for pointing out all the changes. I just simply could not see them until I read your post, then I had to go back again and again to compare them. That was really hard and I’m usually quite observant. Becca, you did good! You are really sneaky… Thanks for the fun.ReplyCancel

  • DeniceJuly 10, 2011 - 11:34 am

I had so much fun doing this. I actually found 14 or 15 changes so I guess that means I was toooooo microscopic. I found a pink and white beaded pen on the 1st change. 3 pearls added to the top 3 fan laces above the ribbon and the rose smushed in differently on the 2nd change. Dark circles under the 3 pearls on the top right, the rose smushed in differently, and no green mat under the pink printed paper on the 3rd change. On the 4th day I found the rose more round and 3 tiny rose flowers in the rose. Also a pink 1/2 circle above the lace fan. The 5th change the pink 1/2 circle was gone and 2 pink strings were visible on the ribbon, also the lace under the pink ribbon was different. The 6th change there were corner metal pieces added and 4 dots were added to the number ticket. The last change was the sentiment on the ribbon was changed. This was more changes than 10, so guess I really did look tooooo microscopic. LOL God bless to all. DeniceReplyCancel

    Becca,
This looked like a blast to play along with. I missed it totally. Must have been during one of the computer down periods that I have had off and on during the past couple of months. I would have loved this and hope you do it again. It was a beautiful card with or without the changes.
