Thank you, Spellbinders Paper Arts, for sponsoring this contest!
I’m thrilled to share two projects using
S5-062 Lace Doily Accents and S5-063 Lace Doily Motifs with you.
The first project is a gift ensemble that includes a flower, box to hold the flower and a simple enclosure card. When I was thinking of what to do I mused that I like to give jewelry and thought that if I could come up with a novel way to offer a ring or a brooch, wouldn’t it be fun to make the gift housing just as special as the gift?
Here the delicate leaves of the lotus are made using an element from S5-063 Lace Doily Motifs. It’s so elegant and frilly that it honestly reminds me of filet crochet. Since the bowl of the flower head is hollow, it’s the perfect place to put a jewelry gift — like the brooch I have in there now. I simply put in some tulle then added the brooch so that it could be seen from above.
Once done with the lotus, I wanted a way to show the flower so I created a “Peek A Boo” box that displays the lotus on a pedestal and has a see through top so that the recipient can see their gift. Since the box has a pedestal, its a great way to secure the flower so that it doesn’t move by threading the stem that holds the flower though a hole in the pedestal.
Then lastly, there’s a simple, matching enclosure card.
I’m sharing the step by step instructions for all three pieces of this Lace Doily ensemble, one by one! I’ll start with the fun lotus itself and have included a supply list at the end of my instruction. (Please click on each thumbnail to see entire picture or to see any hidden text).

My second project is a wreath. I’ve never made one before, but the frilly lacey nature of this die template whispered this idea right in my ear. Can you imagine gifting this to a bride, using it at Christmas time or even laying it horizontally and using it as a centerpiece on a table with a candle in the center? I was amazed at how large the wreath is (12 inches in diameter) and how easy it was to construct.
The wreath is a bed of roughly 20 cones glued to a donut made from cardboard. An accordion folded layer was added on top then silk flower and pearl embellishments.
Here is the wreath in it’s full glory. I threaded a ribbon through the opening so that I could fashion a hanger, but it could just as easily be mounted directly on a wall.

Absolutely stunning! I am really loving all the new dies this time! So gush away because I’m loving your creativity!
You crack me up Becca! Almost tackling the postman! LOL! And I agree about feeling like a kid in a candy store when we get new goodies! Love your card!!
I have purchased a couple of StampinUp’s designer paper downloads and have enjoyed printing them from my computer. One thing I like is how you can control the size of the print/pattern.
Your card is beautiful. I’m sure you have mentioned before, but how do you store your nestabilities?
Beautiful!! Your cards are wonderful and full of so much inspiration!! I love vintage too, will have to check out that CD.
OMGoodness you make the most beautiful cards and projects ever
hugs from Texas
Linda
Simply Gorgeous! Love all the layers and lacy edging. Glad for the reminder on that CD! Love the paper you used.
I just love your work. Absolutely beautiful EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! Thanks for all your special shares.
Another lovely card. I, too, am anxious to receive the vintage pattern cd. If it is not here in today’s mail, it surely will be by the next mail drop. I am so anxious. It means a drive into town, but I the anticipation has got the better of me. Like you, I’m another “kid in the candy store”. Still waiting to see the pictures on “what’s the difference” card. Will you be publishing them soon?
This is lovely. Thanks for the tip on the CD. I just love all the dainty floral paper that is why I asked you about the paper you used in yesterdays posting. They are hard to find. I can just see you tackeling the postman. Sounds more like something I would do. Your so cute!!!! I will be smiling all day thinking about that. Luv it.
Marcie
This is so stunning. Al the dies so far are just too much to wish for. My list is getting longer and longer.
Just beautiful!! I will have to check out that cd and I just love the new dies too, and that stamp so cute!! Thanks Becca :)

Ooh my god, this is sooooo goregeous too Becca. I just love it. I admit, I´ve also used digital papers a lot here, when I couldn´t find the right one in my stash and it works just a treat. I just so love all these new dies here. What we´ve seen sofar has been amazing and I haven´t seen just one yet, that didn´t go on my wishloist too, so it´ll be really long before this is over again, I´m afraid SIGH. Thanks so much for sharing this beauty with us here today too hun and have a wonderful week-end filled with joy and fun.
Becca and the postman! A Kodak moment for the USPS! Wish I could have seen it.
But the card! Oh the card! It is adorable, Becca. Spellbinders always has such neat stuff. And I had no idea digital paper could look so good. I’m starting my letter now; promise to be very, very good and hope Santa has lots of room in his bag next Christmas. If I can’t wait that long, maybe he can finance me temporarily. LOL
It’s one thing to have the neat stuff but quite another to know how to put it together artistically. That’s where you come in, Becca. Another masterpiece to add to your amazing collection.
Oh yes, I love all those vintage papers too. I’m totally hooked on digital papers. That is all I use anymore. You can print them out over and over ~ how cool is that! There are a ton of sites that sell them and they are instant downloads. Of course you done another beautiful card. This site is one of my favorites. I come here daily for another dose of inspiration and love the tutorials too.
I love the card you made with the new Spellbinders. Great job!!! Thank you for sharing.
Have a great weekend :)

gorgeous card. and i too love the vintage paper. when i saw your card it reminded me of the wallpaper in one of my greatgrandma’s bedrooms many, many years ago. i will definitely have to consider doing digi paper, since we live about 50 mi. from a craft store.
It’s a real joy to feel your enthusiasm through this medium. Your card is as beautiful as all of your others…and don’t ever ask us to choose one over another.
I love this card, Becca! And, I too, love vintage, be it stamps, papers, or whatever, your style is what makes me come back almost daily to take a peek at whatever you make.
Oh Becca You crack me up ! I can just see you tackling the postman but I’m sure he is used to you by now and takes appropriate measures not to get hurt. LOL!! Last week I went to all three craft shops in town looking for vintage paper to match something I wanted to work with. I couldn’t find a thing I liked. Not that there was much anyway. I had no idea digital paper could look so beautiful. I’ll have to whisper in Santa’s ear and be extra good this year. Gosh I hope I can win some of these amazing new dies. Don’t think I can count on Santa for those.
As always your card is breathtaking. Things seldom ever just click for me and nothing ever whispers in my ear. You, my dear, are simply blessed with an amazing talent.
Blessings Bernie
Thanks so much for sharing all your beautiful cards. Could you please show us how you make your picks.
Thanks
I NEED that new labels set. It looks perfect!!! Do you have some sort of chart with all of your nestabilities layer choices? How do you pick what looks right with other sets? I’m building my collection and I’d love to get more that work together.
P.S. – When will you post the “What’s the difference” changes?
Beautiful card Becca. Wow — you’ve really gone digital now!
Girl, you are just toooooo good. This is another precious card and those dies are certainly to die for!! Hugs Trish.
WOW – your creativity never ceases to amaze me. LOVE it!
Can you gush?!!! Good heavens — I’d certainly HOPE SO! If we disallowed your gushing, do you know how much we’d suffer? Having to wait for someone else to post samples with detailed instructions as awesome as yours? TRUE, there are many, many talented ladies sharing their Spellbinders’ talents and we LOVE them ALL, but now that you’ve totally spoiled us, Becca, you can’t tell us “No”! LOL!!! We’re spoiled brats now & we want to see, CASE and enjoy every tiny tidbit of every creation you are willing to share – honestly – because for many of us it doesn’t just “click” like it does for you — sadly! My goodness, I have less than half of July’s SBs releases and now there are all these new ones I MUST have — yikes!!!
LOVE the card; LOVE the stack of dies you clicked with; LOVE that edge!!!
What a wonderful card. I love that stamp. By the way. I rec’d my framed pin cushion with pins yesterday, and it’s just beautiful. My 4 yr old son likes it also.
I really believe you are a genius when it comes to paper crafting. The way you have with putting colors together you should become an interior decorator. Absolutly beautiful. God bless……denice
Becca, I love this card. All the dies are great and especially love the silhouette stamp. Some of my favorites. Anxious to find out more about the CD. Will have to check that out. Edna
I can tell I’m going to have to have that new Spellbinders die, well, both of them!
I really, really like this layering combo. Oh Becca, coming here everyday is dangerous! I’d just sworn that I was going to behave and not go crazy…I can feel the resolve slipppinnn…….

Your card is gorgeous Becca! Love all your details! Glad you are enjoying the new dies so much – gives us all more inspiration! And that paper IS beautiful!
Funny you should mention digital papers. I was looking at some on Etsy, and inquired of one seller how I’d know if my printer could print them acceptably. She told me that most people take theirs to a printer/copier to be printed – I’m assuming someplace like Staples or FedEx Office. But it sound like you are printing your own. What type of paper are you printing on, what kind of printer are you using, and what settings?
Today’s card is amazing! I love the combination of pink, blue, and cream.
Hi Becca, Love this card and your description of how it came about. I have a feeling that the postman in your area will be delivering undercover…for fear of being tackled. You make me laugh!
Very pretty card – I love your layering combo and what pretty vintage paper from that CD!
I CAN JUST PICTURE YOU TACKLING THE POSTMAN. AND THOSE
DIES ARE TO DI E FOR. THEY ARE FANTASTIC. THEY SURE WOULD
BE A GREAT WIN. YOU CAN GUSH ALL YOU WANT.
CYNTHIA

Oh you are so right Becca, vintage papers are hard to find. Thanks for the heads up on the CD. Wow!! Love how you layered your card. I just never seem to get them right. Your base paper is fabulous. Love, love, love your card with the silhouette. You inspire me beyond belief. Keep up these wonderful creations as well as all your help in finding products. Oh by the way, I sent in a big order for the “Hug Snug”. Can not wait to get it and try the way you did the coloring. LOL LOL See how you influence me? Not sure if my hubby will appreciate it….watch out Becca!!!!!!!! LOL LOL LOL God bless and thnk you so much.
This is simply gorgeous!
Another GORGEOUS card, Becca! I also love these Flourishes stamps and they are just perfect with the new dies!!
