Hi there friends!!  Thanks for joining me yesterday for the Frame Pincushion post and tutorial.  I can’t wait until I have time to place around with that a little bit more.  It is definitely on my gift list.  In the meantime, I have a quick card to share today, and as I like to say, it really is simple.   I’m working to keep out of a rut and sometimes that means stretching your creative muscle.  I don’t think I do CAS (Clean and Simple) very well, but because of that I don’t want to quick trying.  Today my creative muscle stretch was to save time by forgoing the design paper.  It really makes me conjure up a different kind of card but it’s a great exercise.

I used two Impression-Obsession Backgrounds then stamped a sentiment on top.  I kept away from the ribbon and lace (this time), but pulled out one of the flowers I made on the flower loom (love that thing!!).  This one is made with wired sheer ribbon and that’s definitely the way to go.  I punched along the bottom of the card with a MS border punch then finally embellished with pearls.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Impression-Obsession Cover a Card Thick and Thin Background, Cover a Card Ornate Floral , Background, TPC (sentiment)
Paper: Coredinations, Xpedx Brilliant White 140 lb Cover
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Ice Blue, Prussian Blue
Accessories: Spellbinders Grand Large Labels, pearls, ribbon, pearl brad, Prima Pearls swirl, Pearl Picks, MS Border Punch

By the way, new stamps are being released over at JustRite Stampers today and all this week, bop over and have a look at the JustRite Inspiration Blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, see you soon!!

I love your card. Coincidentally I ordered ten of these cover-a-card stamps YESTERDAY while Scrapy-Land has their 15% off storewide coupon (SUMMER15 through June 30). They already have them discounted 15%, then with the extra 15% off coupon I got them for $8.66 each! What a fun day!!  There’s a winner for the pincushion!!  Who knew a cheap frame could be spiffed up so well.  Mine was plain but I just know you all will go to town with this. I have a round frame that I just can’t wait to try and I’ll be on the look out for an oval :-)

And the winner is:

Reach out to me through my contact page and I’ll get this in the next mail run.  You know the routine – if no one claims within 48 hours then I’ll use random.org to pull another name.  Thanks so much for stopping in and I’ll see you tomorrow!!

Hi there blog friends!  I’m still gushin’ over that pincushion, hee!!!   Seriously, the second one took even less time, now that I know what I’m doing!!  If you’ve seen my post today, I’m giving away a frame pincushion that I just think is fab!!  Keep in mind, I haven’t done any embellishment at all and just the plain old pincushion looks great if you ask me. As promised, I’ve done a walk through on how to make it.  What a classy, yet inexpensive gift!!  Enjoy!!

By the way, I’m going to wait until late, late tonight to pick the winner so that I can give everyone a chance to get their comment in.  But hey, now I have a second pin cushion – the one I just made in the video, sounds like a second chance to me for the readers who came back to check to this out.  Shhhhh!!!, I’m only announcing this here, if you leave a comment on my card post for tomorrow then I’ll give away the second one too to someone who leaves a comment there.  My card post will be dated June 29th.  Well I’m off to put the final touches on a deadline I’ve been working on.  I’ll see you tomorrow!!

    Very Dear Becca,
I just wanted you to know how God worked through you and me today……. I saw the pin cushion yesterday. Loooved it so much and thought, that would make the sweetest “Thank You” gift. Then I looked forward to your instruction video. Right after, I went shopping and I was blessed by the manager of a business, soooo much that God laid it on my heart to do something for her. I planned to craft today already, so I thought….. AH!!!! ….The pin cushion!! I wonder if Becca put the video up today. And ta-dah! As ususal you did not dissappoint. ;) So, I’m going to make her a Thank You card and put one of those pin cushions as a removable embellishment on the front. I know it will be a little thick in the envelope, but I ‘m going to hand deliver it, so that will no problem.

I also thought, this may be why you share so much with us and would would be interested in how God blessed us and put you and I together to do something nice for someone who really deserves some appreciation! Thank you so much for idea and video.

    -Blessings,
    Kim K.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, I have to tell you this story. I adopted a cat in March who was going to be put to sleep. He’s huge! He made very close friends with my 15 year old girl kitty, who died a month after we adopted him. I swear this poor cat was depressed from losing his friend (as were my husband and I). You published this Becca Bit and the strangest thing happened, my cat not only watched you make the pincushion, he also tapped the computer screen as you worked. Then he tried to play with you. We’ve watched several times after I come home for work and he’s starting to perk up again. He adores your video! Not only that, but after watching this I decided to give it a try and bought some picture frames at Michael’s yesterday. Thanks for cheering up my kitty and giving me something new to try. God bless you, TrishaReplyCancel
