Hi there blog friends!  I have a Becca Bit to share with you today that’s a spin off of the card I did yesterday with the punched frame.  So many of you asked me to walk through how I punch that frame and get it to line up – so I show you how.  Although every punch is different, I figure out how they align then I use this method.

After looking at the YouTube you might ask how do you figure out what the offset on a punch is.  Play around with it :-)  The offset is rarely more than 1″ and quite often is 1/2″, 5/8″ or 3/4″.  I’ve also found that manufacturers rarely use an odd offset like 16th’s.   To try to figure out the offset I usually try 1/2″ first, followed by 3/4″  then 5/8″.   Try it by punching your border then cutting the edge past the border in one of the increments I just mentioned, then flip your corner punch over and try to tell how it is matched.  It will either be end to end or a set of holes will align.  Through trial and error, you should be able to find the offset.  Write it down.  You can use it to for getting your corners perfect or for punching around the corner without the corner punch!!

    I am new to your blog and just watched your video. What do you and everyone else mean by ‘offsets’ ? I have quite a few MS punches and they tell you to use a certain size paper to have them come out right.
    It looks like maybe you are using sizes other than what they say to use–is that what you are doing? I just don’t understand offsets??
    I will have to look at the video again–how in the world would I know if I need to cut off an inch or something else or what side I need to cut off anyway. Can you tell I really struggle when it comes to anything that involves math.

Hi there blog friends.  I’m bopping in very quickly to share a “different” card with you.  Here again, this is something I had sitting on the corner of my desk in the “I’m not sure how I feel about it pile.”  Often, on a day that I’m feeling spunky, I dive into that pile to come up with something.  I’ve loved this frame, so it finally made it onto a card!

I’m sharing a sentiment from Quietfire Design called Each of Us.  It’s small enough to fit right smack dab in the center.   I stamped it on acetate because I love the design on this paper and wanted it to be able to peek through.

SUPPLIES I USED

Paper: K & Co, Coredinations Pearl
Ink: Stazon
Accessories: Martha Stewart Border Punch – Doily Garden Deep, Pearls, Ribbon

    I agree, there was no need for hesitation! I love the “sandwashed” colours on this one — so peaceful.
    I’m also loving the use of the deep MS punch to create a frame — I think with a little figuring and a ruler I can use your tutorial on doing frames with border punches to achieve a similar look! Yes it’s true . . . I try to deny it but I think it shows. Yes, I try to slip a card in here and a card in there, but it seems like there’s always something on the corner of my desk that’s pink. I surrender!  I’m swamped with quite a few deadlines and I finished up this card that has been waiting in the wings for a while – I was just rationing pink!  This is a sweet set from Flourishes called Fanciful Flourishes, that I’ve been dying to get inky. I love damask, it absolutely makes my heart sing, so it was quite satisfying to work the motif into a background. You know what that means don’t you? No hunting for hours for the right paper, because I made the perfect one myself ;-)

For the romantic shape of the card I used Spellbinders Grand Labels One.  Since the card is predominantly white, I wanted the bottom to seem like eyelet fabric so I punched a border.  Then I added white lace, pearls and ribbon.  I stamped the small sentiment on Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents and threaded my ribbon through to hold it in place.  Lastly, I stamped the damask butterfly (on both sides) and the solid butterfly on another paper then cut them all out with Spellbinders Fanciful Flight.  The flower was already made and I pulled together the pieces for my pearl pick.

Accessories: Spellbinders Grand Labels One, Spellbinders Fanciful Flight, Spellbinders Doily Accents, Lace, MS Border Punch, EK Success Border Punch, Hug Snug Seam Binding, Recollections Pearls, Zva Creative Pearls

    Becca, Your cards are truly works af art. What an amazing talent you have. I also love all of the pink, lace & pearls. I have not stamped or done any paperrafting for 10yrs due to illness.. Things have changed so much.
    I know you can not answer many questions because you are so busy and have so many followers but I do not know what die cut machine to buy. I know you use spellbinder dies and sizzix embossing. Do they all go together. Can I buy the more inexpensive Sizzix and use spellbinder dies?
