Today is a new release for Flourishes and the ladies at Spellbinders are hopping along!! These sets are gonna blow your socks off – they’re darling and remind us of all things cozy at Grandma’s House. We don’t need to tell you that tags and labels are two of the trendiest items to hit the card making market in a long time! And, to help you add style and pizzazz to your creations, Flourishes has teamed up with Spellbinders Paper Arts to make sure you have the perfect set of stamps to match a darling set of tag style dies. Wonderfully whimsical and reminiscent of Grandma’s calico prints, Flourishes “charming” set offers three labels that coordinate perfectly with Spellbinders Grommet Tags (S4-322). Designed by Becky Fleck, you’ll also find 6 beautiful sentiments and 4 accent stamps to dress up your labels (Country Charm Labels)! Pair that with Flourishes Country Charm Borders and you have the perfect set to make darling note cards in minutes. Flourishes coordinating Country Charm Borders set features five border strips that match the labels set to a tee. What fun!
When I saw this set, I immediately thought of country pin cushions and all the neat sewing tools that Grandma used to have. Whether she was quilting, cross stitching or mending my clothes, a basket or jar of tools was always handy. I decided to whip up some quick gift sets using the tags and borders on both my Mason Jar Pin Cushions and my note cards. These are meant to be gifts for some of my sweet crafter friends and boy did they ever whip up quickly! Here are the three separate pairings:
Set of Leaf Pins and card.
Set of Assorted Ribbon and Card
Set of Assorted Buttons and Card
It was easy to coordinate fabric with the ink colors and the print on the tags – so country. Perfect for a gift set.
Because Flourishes knew this set was a match made in heaven with Spellbinder’s Grommet Tags, both design teams are joining forces for a fun-filled show and tell blog hop! Make sure to hop on over and see….
Keep in mind, if you like what you see, both the Country Charms Labels and Country Charms Borders are available now — just click the links to see! Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Wow, went over to Flourishes using the link you included and couldn’t even find anything about the blog hop there. The blog I found through a link on that site did say something about problems with one of their blog hops… but didn’t seem to have a hop going on today. so, I’m confused. I usually go to the blog of the company having the hop to begin so I’m sure to start at the beginning and go from there… this one has me confused.
But, none the less… your creations are lovely as always!!!!!ReplyCancel

The links are not showing the hop. I suspect Blogger prevented hop participants from posting by being in Read Only Mode for most of yesterday. I plan on trying again later, hopefully….

Good morning blog friends. I have a tutorial for you today, and it’s one you’ve been asking for – for a while. I made a sample card to go along with it to show the end result for the technique. Several years ago I figured out how to take a border punch and cut an even frame all around so that it comes out perfect every time. At the time, MS had just come out with the Punch Around The Page Product so I put my plans to do the tutorial away, thinking it obsolete. Over the past couple of months, several have written to ask me to do the tutorial I had promised. Then last week when I showed the Love Letter to the World framed hybrid project, several asked again. Well, that’s how I decide content here – you request it . . . it gets on the list. Also when a project gets a lot of comment, I assume you like it and then I plan to do more similar projects :-) All that to say, I’m listening!!
Just a short blurb about my sample card — I’m using a two sweet sets from Waltzingmouse Stamps – Holiday Labels No. 14 (which conveniently matches Spellbinders Labels Fourteen) and Victorian Frippery. You know that I have to make a special effort to tilt my cards, lol. Yesterday I saw so many tilted cards that I determined I had to do it! You may also notice that my card has stitching on it — that’s because I finally cleared a path to the sewing machine!
Here is the tutorial on how to do the punching – I promise you it is not complicated, but you need to try it to get the gist of it. It works best with single elements that repeat but try it on others:
Back tomorrow with something new!! Hope to see you then!!
Not seeing the link Becca…I’ll have a coffee and then maybe I’ll see it! ;)ReplyCancel

This is excellent info, and clearly explained/demonstrated! I knew it had to be a matter of simple math, but couldn’t see what exactly I needed to do, or where to measure and what to do with the measurement!
As others have said, you have just saved many people hours of frustration and wads of paper! Thank you for all that you share.ReplyCancel

Now this is something I am for sure going to try. Thanks for making the tutorial! PS I even liked it before you cut off the frame. : )ReplyCancel
Becca, thank you so much for that tutorial. I tried it with a MS punch and it worked!!! My corners turned out a little more rounded but I’m fine with it. I won’t “need” any more corner punches now to have a great punched all around edge.ReplyCancel
JessicaMay 12, 2011 - 1:38 pm
Thanks Becca, I just tried it with one of my punches, and it didn’t quite work out well, even thought the depth was still 3/4 inches. But I’ll keep on trying by starting out with larger pieces of paper.
At least I’ll have a place to start. I’ve tried a couple other ways to do this, that I can’t remember now. They were just too involved. You, as always, make things very easy to understand. Thanks again

Wow this is awesome and a great money saver. I can’t afford those Punch Around The Page Punches but I do have a few border punches and you have just doubled their use for me. I tired it and it works! I have written the depth of each punch on the punch with a sharpie so it was quick work to sketch my lines and punch away. I am SO excited! Thank you ever so much.
As always your card is stunning!

That looks like allot off fun Becca. Also, If you cut the frame out carefully, you can use that in a scrapbook picture, card to include a picture or just a cute way for a frame. Neat. Will have to try it. Most of my border punches are smaller so I don’t know if it will be as easy but I will see. :)ReplyCancel

Dear Becca,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your punched border frame with your fans. I just love doing punched borders but find buying the sides and corners rather expensive. NOW! I can make a nice frame using your method. How neat!!!!!! Thanks, again.
Love this! You are such a treasure to share these. I try to be a frugal scrapbooker, whenever possible. Your tutorials are a great help. Thanks so much & God bless you.ReplyCancel
Hey chicklets! I’m much better today, and I have a project to share that was soooooo much fun to make, I’ll just have to explain how I got there. First of all this is a new release by JustRite Stampers called Family Garden — adorable, hunh!?! The first time I saw the set, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. It’s super cute because they included flowers in the set, but since they are not a part of the stamp, you can substitute anything you like, buttons, pearls, rings, a round of crochet – you get the picture.
I’ve tried before to stamp on slick buttons with Stazon ink but was never happy with the results. So recently when I saw someone stamp on a fabric button, this was the a-ha I needed. So now what fabric to use? For a while I did cross stitching and somewhere along the line I hit a super clearance sale on cross stitch linen. I have tons of it and thought if I was lucky, it would take ink. Turns out that it takes ink very well – I used Stazon and Brilliance. Using Scor-Tape sheets, I applied the linen to a piece of cardstock and stamped on it and then cut it for my project. For the Gable Box I used a steel rule die cut and for my card, I simply cut my panel using my Tonic cutter.
For all the buttons I simply used an inexpensive covered button kit from the fabric store. In this kit, all the top domes for the buttons had teeth which made it very easy to keep the fabric in place. I did all of these (21 in total) by hand, each one taking less than a minute. I applied them to the box and card with my glue gun.
Very pretty! I too used to cross stitch and I know I have linen in my box. I’m going to have to dig that out. Thanks for the inspiration.ReplyCancel

Becca – I never would have considered stamping on cross stitch fabric….so clever!! Perhaps after the pain of the headache yesterday, your creative side of your brain is feeling so good since feeling so badly that inspirations just come you in a snap today. Whatever – we are grateful!
Wow! Who’s a very clever lady? Fabulous work Becca. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful brain waves with us.

Happy to hear you are feeling better. OH MY GOSH These are stunning! For some reason they make me think of my Grandma. I have a box of goodies to donate including two covered button kits and several sheets of cross stitch fabric. I can’t see well enough to cross stitch any more and I don’t even know where the button kits came from but I’ll be pulling those goodies out of that box ASAP. Thank you for the inspiration.

Becca, can I have your brain for just one day PLEASE??? You amaze me how you come up with the most original ideas ever! Plus you don’t need any fancy expensive gadgets to make embellies with like those buttons. If you can’t find a cheap gadget that does it, you make one of your own like your peg bow maker etc! You are my idol!!!ReplyCancel
Woohoo, I am loving this card, just ordered this set today! This morning as a matter of fact. This set is just all me in all types of aspects. Your box and card are just awesome! Love them! Love all the texture especially the buttons that you made. Your use of this stamp is awesome in both the card and the gable box! Wish you lived closer, someone just gave me a gift that I absolutley adore, but have more than I can use and would love to share (and don’t know anyone close that I can share with). Regardless, love your use of the stamp! Thanks for sharing! Blessings!ReplyCancel
Wowzers…that linen is so cool! Trust the one and only Becca to come up with an idea like this!ReplyCancel

What a lovely project and on linen too. Love the covered buttons. Just a neat gift set. This is so creatively done I love it. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-DReplyCancel
I love the look of linen. It is simple and sweet but, for me, it has a sort of elegance too! I have a huge stash of cross stitch fabric around here somewhere. I am going to have to break it out and stamp on it. Tfs!!ReplyCancel
Your pretty gift set is lovely! It makes sense that the fabric would take the ink since they print patterns on it. You are a smart cookie! I am so glad I know now what to do with all that cross stitch fabric I have ‘hoarded’ away! Since my eyesight isn’t good enough to stitch I will have to ‘stamp’ on it instead.
Thanks for sharing! :)ReplyCancel
Miss Becca! You’ve done it again!!! This is the BEANS!
What a great idea to use fabric and your buttons and box are over the top. What else can I say girl. Great Work!!
Oh My Gosh, Becca … this card and box are just jaw-droppingly gorgeous … adorable beyond words … I simply cannot believe your skill and talent and creativity. All of your projects are stunning … I just cannot believe it each day when I visit and find yet another fabulous creation. Your tutorials are really marvellous and much-valued too … you are generous beyond words. Thank you so much, Becca, you are truly amazing!!ReplyCancel
This set is just wonderful, I have been sitting here just looking at it going back and forwards from one picture to another! You must have been so chuffed when you put this together as it’s a real winner. There’s something about the fabric that makes it look so tactile, if I had made those items I would be so proud of myself so I hope you are! :)ReplyCancel

These are just stunning. I love how you matched the ribbon and paper, you are so creative.
But, none the less… your creations are lovely as always!!!!!
These are absolutely fabulous. Love how you matched the cards to the papers on the jars. Very creative. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-D

Oh Becca I LOVE, LOVE your idea of this gift set! You do so many tutorials so I feel guilty asking you this, but is it possible for you to share how you made these pin cushions? I have to make these!!! PLEASE? Or could you email me with quick details? I am a sewer so I am sure it easy, I just lack creativity. That is why I LOVE your blog!
Oh I love the sets!
I am loving the fabric you used on all the sets!
Fantastic gifts, Becca :o)

These are adorable! You have some lucky friends who will be very happy to receive these.
